Negative experience: I arrived with a swollen face and severe pain for what was supposed to be root canal work, and although I was initially assured my tooth was not broken internally, the dentist and nurse quickly became absorbed in a personal conversation about rice biryani, classes, and her personal statement. Their continuous chatter and loud laughter not only ignored my obvious distress but also distracted the dentist to the point where I distinctly heard my tooth crack. This left me doubting whether I could safely finish the treatment. This is the second time I have experienced such inattentiveness at this clinic, but on this occasion the damage was more severe, my inflammation grew worse, the external shape of my tooth became severely distorted, and the dentist provided unclear explanations about my tooth’s condition. This entire episode caused immense pain, anxiety, and a complete loss of confidence in the standard of care.I asked the manager to conduct a thorough investigation into the nurse's and dentist's behavior, provide a detailed report of the incident and the current state of my tooth, and take steps to prevent such mistakes from happening again. The response was an apology from the dentist, a sarcastic laugh from the nurse, and a bill for £960,plusI need to visit another dental clinic to find out how I can fix the damage to my tooth and remove the broken root needle remains inside my tooth.

Negative experience: I was very disappointed with my recent experience at this practice. The dental hygienist was extremely aggressive during the cleaning, causing significant discomfort throughout the appointment. I’ve had the same treatment at other clinics many times before and never experienced this level of pain. What made it worse was the lack of any apology or acknowledgement of my discomfort. After the cleaning, I noticed visible stains still on my teeth and had to return for a second round, which should not have been necessary. It felt rushed—as though she was trying to finish quickly because I was the last patient of the day. Overall, the lack of care and professionalism was really disappointing.

Negative experience: Absolutely appalling. I've had an airflow treatment which left my gums irritated, inflamed and bleeding. The hygienist who did it is obviously not qualified and carried out an incredibly aggressive treatment. I will endeavour to get one of their dentists to fix this. Shameful service.

Fantastic experience: Dr Keval Shah saw me as a very very last minute patient with an overdue root canal requirement. I've spent 6 months in agony, had various appointments, couldn't get seen where I happen to live and have become a nervous mess. I've no words. I'm so grateful for your patience, understanding and agreeing to see me with little notice, staying late and fixing my tooth for me before I lost it. I've never felt so calm in the dentist chair before, and also never managed with just two numbing injections. Always requiring more, and always ending up super sore from injections as well as treatment. Honestly, I'm convinced I did a little snore! I was so relaxed. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your brilliance, it was by far the best dental experience of my life and I can assure you I'm willing to travel 6 hours to get any further dentistry work done with yourself. So kind.

Fantastic experience: I’ve visited New River Dental twice now, and both times I’ve left very satisfied. I saw Dr Kalpesh for a routine check-up and Mehak for a hygienist session. Both were super friendly, professional and made me feel comfortable throughout. Dr. Kalpesh was very thorough and picked up on something I hadn’t even been aware of, which was really helpful. Fantastic experience: Amin is a great Dentist that always goes above and beyond the call of duty. Rita is the best hygienist on the planet! Her attention to detail is fantastic and she takes her time to give the best results, there is no-one more gentle and make sure you book with Rita as there are other hygienists on site but not as good. If you cannot get a slot by phone book online to avoid disappointment! Nate is always smiling and happy to assist you when you arrive for treatments.

Fantastic experience: The entire staff are amazing, they took away my childhood trauma of dentists including Annette the front desk receptionist. Dr Monsur was amazing and gave me every option before I made a decision on what to do, he also made me feel comfortable when I first came in and told him about my fears. Dr Ali was amazing, he has fairy hands and it took seconds for the extraction. Dr Ali's nurse, Miha was lovely and made me feel safe throughout the procedure, she even help my hand. While beginning to have an anxiety attack they made sure I was ok and that I was in control of whatever was happening. Best practice that I've ever been to in my life. Thank you to the entire team!

Fantastic experience: Booked an appointment with the hygienist Mariam and she was lovely, I was abit nervous but the whole process was really quick and she gave me tips on how to floss and brush better and checked my gums and teeth for any abnormalities. I also was able to be squeezed in to see the dentist to have tooth gem glue residue drilled off which I really appreciated as I had it on my teeth for months. Overall the whole experience went really will, can’t fault anything. Front of desk staff were very friendly as well!

It was a long process over a few months but well worth it as the new teeth fit me perfectly and match my original teeth. Negative experience: DISASTROUS. I had a molar extraction in November 24, following which I experienced weeks of pain in my jaw, gums and face. I returned to the dentist who had referred me in-house to the dental specialist who extracted my tooth at New River, and I was told that my pain was nothing, and that his "mother had had worse pain and that resolved." The fact is, I was the patient, NOT his mother! I felt dismissed by his arrogance, and had to go on to consult not only another dentist, but then an emergency NHS dentist because of the pain. This resulted in scans and a referral to a maxillofacial specialist who has given me a working diagnosis of temporomandibular joint disorder - an agonising condition which can be triggered by rough jaw opening during dental extractions. This possibility was never raised or discussed with me. I still have poor jaw opening and nerve pain. Almost six months on, the situation is unresolved and I am now waiting for an MRI scan to find out exactly what is going on. This has changed my life for the worst. I paid almost £900 for this procedure privately, including sedation. I then went on to pay a maxillofacial specialist £600 for a private urgent consult before my money ran out, and then waited the long wait to see the maxfax in the NHS. I have no idea when, if at all, this condition will resolve.

Fantastic experience: I went there last week because of a toothache. Dr Kalpesh Shamji was amazing at finding the root cause (wisdom tooth that needed extraction), managed to relax me, and took it out without any pain whatsoever. Definitely recommend New River Dental if you find yourself in an urgent situation like me.

Fantastic experience: This was the first time I had visited New River Dental (Enfield town) and have to say that from beginning to end the service I received was excellent. My appointment was with Dr. Mohsin O. Ali and his chairside manner was excellent as was the procedure to remove the remains of a molar. Dr. Ali explained everything beforehand and proceeded very quickly. I'm not sure I can say that i'm looking forward to my next appointment (for an implant) but I know i'll be in very capable hands. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

From the lovely lady (Annette) on the reception desk who was incredibly kind and helpful, to the dentist (Dr Shamji) who was great with my two young kids. We are so pleased to have finally found a good, local dental practice. (Just wish there was more parking directly outside but can’t be helped! We parked across the road in Tesco which was no issue.)

Fantastic experience: Needed an emergency dentist over the Christmas period as my own dentist of 40+ years was closed and hadn't even updated their answer phone to advise they were closed over Christmas. At New River Dental, I was greeted by a really pleasant receptionist in a lovely clean environment. I was seen by the dentist Sunny Gill. A very nice gentleman, who really listened to what I had been experiencing, took x-rays and than explained his findings. I was given antibiotics which he had in stock and no need to find a chemist afterwards. He advised of some permanent solutions, which I can arrange for a future date, either at New River or at my own dentist. I was really pleasantly surprised at the professionalism of this dentist and has made me question my current dentist. Needless to say once I decide on my next step, it will be at New River. The only downside, it will have to be private and not NHS as they are currently full but I believe this is with most dentists now.

I am pleased the standard has been maintained and I can see where my money is being invested into the practice. Both Rita and Monsur were polite, professional and efficient. I've always felt very confident that I'm receiving the best possible care and treatment. Now that Simon is soon retiring I'm very confident I'll be in very good hands with his successor, who I know he chose very carefully. Rita Strong has been my hygienist for many years. She's very friendly and does a very thorough job of keeping my teeth clean and healthy and gives lots of good advice on how to maintain healthy teeth and gums. Fantastic experience: I’m an extremely nervous patient and have not had any treatment since I was 8 years old without sedation. Monsur told me to try 2 small procedures! He said I could just sedate you and take your money but I think you will be fine. Guess what, with the fantastic monsur and his nurse I did it I’m 70 now. I’d have never thought I could do it. I did. The lengthy procedure was carried out by implantologist, Dr Mohsin Ali, who's skill and expertise made the process painless and comfortable. All of the staff are welcoming and friendly and the level of dentistry provided at the practice is of the highlest standard. New River Dental provides a superior offering in every way and I am very happy with the treatment and care I've received.

Fantastic experience: phoned the dentist in the morning they said they had no appointment. 10 mins later they phoned me back with a emergancy appointment. i went there and with in 5mins i had my tooth pulled out. absolure brilliant service and the dentist who took my tooth out was really nice guy and execellent at his job. i would deffo recomend this dentist practice
