Fantastic experience: Excellent staff really helpful and caring

Fantastic experience: At my previous dentists I was abandoned by them over Covid, I had previously when I was younger had medication that dissolved the enamel on all my teeth staining them and leaving my teeth vulnerable too tartar and plaque sticking to them. For 5 years I hadn’t seen a dentist that was willing to see to my teeth. Then there’s David, Gavin and Fungai and the rest of the fantastic staff at bupa dental care (coulby newham) they have been fantastic assisting me in education around cleaning, tools to do so properly and fast tracked actions like a filling and 3 monthly hygiene appointments. Friendly, compassionate and cheering you on for the little victories I could not promote this team more!

Negative experience: Over five years of being sent to yr long waiting list , I'm still in agony after a bridge was replaced, nothing came back as a problem, but now told, as a NHS pensioner I need to go to the private dentist as the dentist who looked after me didn't know about Bridges, I have worn out teeth and chronic pain every day and night and all I've been given is a hard to stop grinding

Fantastic experience: I have been visiting the Bupa Dental Practice at Coulby Newham in Middlesbrough for quite some time now. The staff are always friendly but professional and deal with you as efficiently as possible. On my last visit on Thurday 22nd May I was treated by my dentist Kerstin who was assisted by Fungai. They were absolutely brilliant when dealing with me, not only did they do their jobs well, but we're very pleasant talking and joking with me to keep me calm and to keep my mind off what was happening (Fillings). Fantastic experience: Avni is my dentist and her nurse Kayleigh are such lovely people also the reception staff cannot do enough for you everyone is so helpful and friendly. Avni and Kayleigh are so caring, and supportive and got me through my treatment which I was dreading and I can honestly say it was not that bad at all with their help. They put me at ease and reassured me every step of the way. I couldn't thank them enough for their kindness they showed to me. I have been at this practice for over 40 years when Mrs Ruben first owned it at Langdon square and Joanne was her dental nurse they were both lovely too.

Fantastic experience: An appointment at the dentist for someone with anxiety is a massive problem. Kim and Jo explained everything to my daughter, took their time and kept her relatively calm. She managed the full appointment and has agreed to go back to see them again. Cannot thank them enough for their effort and kindness.

Fantastic experience: I needed an emergency appointment after a crown came out, I telephoned the surgery and spoke to the receptionist who took my details and she was able to squeeze me in the following morning with Dentist Avni. Avni was able to clean my dislodged crown and cement it back in. The service I received from the initial phone call to having the tooth treated was first class. Very friendly dental practise and I cannot fault them. I highly recommend the practice.

From the welcoming smiles of the receptionists to the bespoke treatment and care shown in all my many interactions with all members of staff. Fantastic experience: Brilliant dental practice. I have been with this practice for many years. My dentist David is excellent. I’ve never had any issues and all treatment plans are explained clearly. I’ve recently had my teeth straightened and the treatment and care has been amazing. Fungai and Ellie are great dental nurses who work well with David and put you at ease during your appointment. Wendy and Sue on reception are so lovely and helpful. They make you feel really welcome and do everything they can to get you your appointment at a time and date that’s convenient for you. All staff at this practice are great and they all make you feel welcome and a valued customer.

Fantastic experience: Hayley and Jo went above and beyond to make sure I had a pleasant experience during my Scale and Polish! They were very helpful answering questions about my dental hygiene and the scale and polish was done in a jiffy! I’d recommend this practice to anyone who wants to keep on top their dental hygiene.

Fantastic experience: Very thorough and professional examination at Coulby Newham check up today (K) and good questions asked by assistant.(F) Very friendly admin and the dentist very efficient but friendly too. Only thing I would like to improve would be the rather long wait (2 months) for further NHS treatment. As usual everything spotlessly clean.

Fantastic experience: I have been using this practice for over 20 yrs after previously lived at Hemlington. I have remained at this practice after moving to Billingham as I find all staff, from the Front Reception to the Dental staff to be courteous and professional and putting patients at ease. A special mention to Receptionist staff, Wendy & Sue. Not forgetting Dental staff Kerstin, Amanda and Ellie and Gavin.

Fantastic experience: I’m usually very nervous when visiting the dentist but today (Dec 2nd 2024) I was met with the Kirstin and Ellie double act. Kirstin and Ellie had me in fits of laughter all the way through the treatment and it put me fully at ease, the banter between the two of them was just brilliant. The treatment was over in no time and conducted in a very professional manner. Thank you so much Kirstin and Ellie. The last time I laughed so much in a dental practice was in 1960 aged 7 after having five teeth removed, the gas I was given might have had something to do with that. Fantastic experience: I have been petrified of dentists for a long time but after visiting Bupa dental care in coulby Newham and recieving excellent care from Avni and Kayleigh I can now smile again .Avni is an excellent dentist and Kayleigh an amazing nurse I will now keep up with my 6 month appointments.

Fantastic experience: I have recently registered with this Practice. I am very anxious when visiting the Dentist. My first appointment was with Charlotte Vines and Kirsty, they both made me feel totally at ease. Recently I had an appointment with Gavin and Jo and again I felt at ease. The Reception staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. I don’t dread going to the Dentist anymore.

Fantastic experience: A fantastic dental practice, all the staff are friendly and welcoming from the second you walk in. My treatment from Dave and Jo today was amazing and they gave me top quality care. Very happy with my visit!

Positive experience: Kerstin the dentist is lovely. Great personality, knowledgeable and explains everything thoroughly. Her dental nurse, Sally, was lovely too. Only negative point is the length of time one must wait in between checkups as they are fully booked for months. In the past when I’ve had a real problem I’ve been seen fairly quickly.

Negative experience: NOT GOOD! Pros: +Has parking +Has a seating area Cons: - 4 month waiting list for an appointment - Little care and quality assurance - 3 appointments instead of 1 just to clean my teeth and gums - Lack of consideration for individuals personal circumstances when in the chair - Dentists who ignore or can't identify decay under a filling - No more help given then "keep brushing" This happened to me, and it seems to be a money-making scheme at the moment of sending you to the dentist for a 3 minute check up x-rays (I'll come back to later). I was told my teeth are fine by the x-rays, but I need to go to the hygienist for a scale and polish instead of the dentist doing it there and then. I went to the hygienist who did my scale and polish and gave me some gum treatment, I left feeling stupid and unvalued. Beikg told I would have to return to the dentist for another fillow up appointment! During the cleaning, the assistant audibly gasped and made 'urghh' notices throughout. I was told to keep cleaning and not given anything to help. Got in my car, looked at my gums, which were bleeding everywhere. A lady asked me on my way to my car "Are you okay young man?" As she could see my gums. I am lucky enough to be able to change to a private dentist, my first session they asked what had happened and were appalled at the state of my gums. They also did xrays (3 days after the Dupa ones) to find decay under one of my fillings and said it must have been there for a few months. Overall if you want to spend more money than you have to, just to have the dentist ignore decay under fillings and give no real advice as well as not being considerate in any way to your personal circumstances then a brilliant place to go.

Fantastic experience: Great friendly service from Kerstin and Fungai. I hate going to the dentist as much as anyone but it was one of the easiest experiences i've had. 10/10.

Fantastic experience: Today I had some dental treatment performed by Kirstin and Funggi, the level of care and skill that I recieved by them was second to none, they both made me feel welcome and relaxed prior to carry out the work and during the process they put me at ease with humours comments and quips. Kirstin also took the time to perform some extra preventative treatment that was required since my original appointment was made. On all the visits that I have had with the practice I have found all the staff to be welcoming and professional and would recommend anyone to have their treatment done there.

Today I saw the hygienist Gavin and Jo. They were absolutely amazing. They also put me at ease. My teeth are so sensitive and was dreading my procedure. But they were brilliant and they cared. 5*

She is honest in her assessment and gives helpful advice when needed. She puts the children at ease and has helped me to overcome my anxiety about visiting the dentist, so I don’t pass this onto my children. We would highly recommend. Thank you! Kim & Charlotte were fantastic when my son needed some treatment. They alleviated both our fears and were kind and gentle with my son throughout. Fantastic experience: Dental visits can be stressful and uncomfortable. But the staff at this practice seem very keen to minimise such feelings. The environment is calm, clean and fresh, staff are professional, polite and pleasant. I was treated by Kerstin and Fungai who were very supportive and kind throughout. Fantastic experience: My 8 year old son was really worried as he was coming to have a filling. Kim put him totally at ease and explained everything she was doing making sure he understood at every stage. Both Kim and Kayleigh had a lovely manner and nothing was too much trouble.

The cleaning is always something I worry about but it was easy and calm and if I had discomfort it was addressed and I had time to relax and carry on again. My last visit with Dave was also very easy for me. Dave made me comfortable and again if I needed to take a moment Dave supported me with this. The support staff are great and the front desk staff are friendly and helpful. A great place to have look after the health of your teeth. Once again Kim & Kayleigh made this last cleaning an absolute joy.

Fantastic experience: I had a filling with Kim assisted by Fungai. I’ve had it filled a few times over a lot of years and no one has taken the time and care that Kim did in getting it both looking and feeling right. They are both a credit to your team.

No one enjoys going to the dentist but the whole team at this practice are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient and help to put you at ease from walking in to reception. Kerstin has been my dentist for several years now. I changed to the practice when I had two poor experiences elsewhere. Kerstin is clear about the treatment I need, showing me x rays and explaining what she is going to do and why. She has done my root canal, fitted a crown and bridge, as well as the usual filling and cleaning. And somehow in the middle of all of this her wry sense of humour makes me smile. Hard to do with dental equipment in your mouth! I wholeheartedly recommend Kerstin and this practice. Deservedly 5 stars.
