Fantastic experience: Hemel Smile Studios (Marlowes) came to my rescue for a dental emergency! When I arrived at the Clinic, I was greeted by friendly competent staff and received an appointment almost immediately with Dr Shamir Shah. Dr Shah's warm and professional demeanour really put me at ease, and he was able to resolve quickly the issue of a dangerously loose orthodontic wire retainer behind my front teeth. In fact, I feel that the precise work that he carried out is better than the original orthodontic placements that were initially done by my Orthodontist in Switzerland. I commend Dr Shah for his excellent work and would highly recommend him to anyone seeking a skilled, highly trained and efficient Orthodontist-Dentist. Fantastic experience: At the grand old age of 53 I have a smile I finally love and lots of confidence to smile all thanks to Mr Shah. After 2 years of fixed braces and regular appointments to fit around my busy schedule, Mr Shah and the dental nurses made this possible, never had any problems getting advice or my questions answered, no issues with scheduling appointments if I had to reschedule. If i had any problems with my dental appliances it was always sorted in a timely manner. I can honestly say from start to finish of my treatment it was never an unpleasant experience and wish I had done it years ago. Fantastic experience: Just finished a 10 week course of invisaline. Miriam is so lovely, friendly and professional. Jonathan on reception is the happiest man I've ever met. My teeth look amazing. 4 had moved at the bottom, sometimes they ached but now they are straight and pain free. I am so happy with the results, would highly recommend this treatment.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Hemel Hempstead Smile Studios enough! I've been coming here my whole life, and I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. Every dentist I've seen has been fantastic, but Shivani Thakrar is hands down my favourite! Since primary school, I’ve been insecure about my teeth due to discolouration on my front tooth. I used to get comments at school, and it made me so self-conscious that I always smiled with a closed mouth. Not anymore!! I decided to invest in teeth whitening ahead of my wedding in May, and I’m SO glad I did! Shivani has been absolutely amazing throughout the whole process—knowledgeable, inspiring, and honestly just the best at what she does. The process was seamless—my moulds were made, I had an oral deep clean, was given the trays & solution a few weeks later, and within three weeks, I had the whitest smile ever! The whole process took less than two months. And while I still have one more visit to fully correct the discolouration, after the whitening, it’s already barely noticeable. I finally feel confident about my teeth, and for the first time in my life, I’m actually getting compliments on my smile. I know that in a month’s time, when it’s all finished, I’ll be smiling non-stop—especially as I walk down the aisle in May! A special shoutout to John on reception—what a guy!! Always so helpful, kind, and bubbly. He remembers me every time and makes every visit such a pleasure. If you're thinking about investing in teeth whitening—DO IT!! Best decision ever. Fantastic experience: As a family we've been with Hemel Smile Studios and Dr Shah for about 30 years (!) and have always been very happy with our experiences. Dr Shah is patient and considerate, taking time to listen and explain. All the nurses that have assisted him have been positive and professional. I really had a procedure, that I was anxious about however, Dr Shah and his Care Coordinator, Duying, were fabulous. I have never had my hand patted and gently stroked by a dental assistant, it was sweet, kind, thoughtful and much appreciated. Thank you Duying :) The reception staff are always friendly and courteous. It's a lovely practice.

Negative experience: Generally a great dentist but had to call for an emergency appointment, where they say they're open (as recommended by 111) and on their site and on the sign on their door they're not, phone lines go through to hold and the line stays on hold saying wait for a member of reception staff

Fantastic experience: My 16 year old son was seen by Mariam as he had a broken/chipped front tooth and bad discolouration on that tooth. Mariam was fantastic with my son, constantly talking and reassuring him. He had his treatment and the results were truly amazing. His tooth now looks completely normal and all the discolouration is gone. Were thrilled with the results. I'm absolutely grateful to Mariam, she is outstanding and I would have no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending her. I can't comment on other people's negative reviews but my experience with the Practice, and in particular Mariam has been nothing but outstanding. Mariam, thank you for your kindness and compassion when dealing with my son and myself.

Negative experience: got provided with good service and decent dental care. reason for a two star is. i booked with this practice two to three times already and as policy you have to pay for a deposit, which is fine the problem that really bugs me is that during this three occasion i book and pay for a service i don't get no reminder or email before the due date, one time i forgot about the appointment due to not having an reminder i bought this up to the reception and they notice they have forgotten to sent it, this was a while ago. then have the nerve to tell me that i lost the appointment and the money for deposit even though it was their fault to not send the reminder. fast-forward again i booked and pay for the deposit and suddenly haven't receive any reminder on the phone, luckily i note it on the calendar. i don't know if this is a regular occurrence or some scheme but it absolutely annoying. FIX THIS!

Fantastic experience: Had to have a filling today and I'm not a massive fan of going to the dentist. However Nilesh Limani and his nurse Molly made it such a pleasent, pain free and quick experience that I would recommend their dental practice.

Negative experience: Avoid!!! Useless staff! Countless times i have told them to update my contact details, they have now kicked me off the database after not telling me about rescheduled appointments which were not agreed, nor sent to me at the right telephone or email address so I wasn't able to be aware of this. Now i'm told i have been kicked off.

Negative experience: I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the recent dental surgery I underwent at your practice. Unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory, and I feel compelled to bring several issues to your attention. Firstly, during the procedure, the hygienist broke a portion of my tooth, which was distressing and unexpected. This incident caused me significant discomfort and concern, as I had entrusted your practice with my dental care. Furthermore, despite attempts to rectify the situation, I found the subsequent treatment provided by the dentist to be inadequate. Not only was the broken tooth made smaller, but the resulting restoration was not comfortable and did not meet the standards I would expect from a professional dental practice. As a patient, I believe it is crucial to receive quality care and treatment that not only addresses the immediate issue but also ensures long-term dental health and comfort. Furthermore, I found the manner in which my concerns were addressed by the dentist to be unprofessional and disconcerting. Instead of acknowledging potential errors or addressing my questions with empathy, I felt as though I was being made to feel at fault for any perceived issues. This approach not only failed to instill confidence in the dental care provided but also left me feeling unheard and undervalued as a patient.

Fantastic experience: I visited Hemel Smile Studios last week for a check-up. It was a pleasure to meet my routine dentist ever-smiling Mariam and her new assistant Kiran. Mariam was, as always, very helpful and comforting given my fear of dentists which she had magically helped me to overcome. John at the reception deserves a special mention and thanks for his excellent PR skills and so pleasant demeanour. He is the best face of the studio. The studio looks very smart after a refurbishment with a good ambience and the latest technology. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Took my 2 year old here, soon as we walked in the reception staff went above and beyond to greet and be really interactive with her. The friendly staff at the desk made it so easy for her to walk in. Then Nelish and Molly slowly eased her into the appointment with high fives and stickers to ensure she was happy and comfortable. Them taking the time to build that relationship so was refreshing and lovely to see. I would recommend everyone to use this dentist. Fantastic experience: I have a patient of this dental surgery for the past 8 years and can highly recommend. Dr Shah is brilliant and Katie the dental hygienist is amazing. Both take time to listen and work with care and patience. Supported by a great admin team who are always very friendly and available if need to call and speak to someone.

While the reception area can be very noisy, John was most helpful and attentive in capturing my personal information. Fantastic experience: Today 27/06/23 went for a check up after having a tooth extraction at the hospital- everyone here is so friendly and helpful- the receptionists were lovely apologies ladies I’ve forgotten your names- we can blame the painkillers and antibiotics for that! Dr. Nilesh Limani is the best dentist I’ve ever had- he really is really thoughtful and he really cares about his patients. He never makes you feel stupid- understands we’re all human and I feel like I can be completely honest. I’ll always pay the extra money for his service! 11 months ago I went for an emergency appointment today with Dr. Limani who was so welcoming, really attentive when working and explained the whole procedure as he was going along. The best experience I’ve had in a long time and also painless! I went private and although it was a little expensive it’s worth every penny. Receptionists we’re also lovely and very patient. Wasn’t left waiting for ages- seen bang on appointment time and given great advice about my oral hygiene (no trying to over sell any extra’s) Left feeling like Dr. Limani Did a fantastic job and a valued customer. Fantastic experience: This was my first visit to marlowes dentist Smile practise after being so impressed with Marion who I first saw at Bennetts End practise, I am totally terrified of dentists since a bad experience as I child, she was calm kind ,but most of all she listened to me And I felt she understood my fears, and calmly talked me through it. So I decided to go where she practised which was the Marlowes in Hemel Hempstead. .But I must say although I hadn't met the staff on reception, there I did received a call from the gentleman there regarding my appointment and straightaway I picked up on his friendliness, helpfulness , and professionalism ,and the same with the lady who phoned me to confirm my appointment the next day. It left me thinking what a refreshing change to have such nice helpful friendly genuinely nice people to talk to, and that you felt you would definitely want to go there, in fact so much so I would tell them personally when I go for my appointment which I did. Fantastic experience: I’ve been using this dentist for over 15 years and they are brilliant! Dr Shah did my orthodontic treatment and I’m very happy with the result. Lately I’ve been trying to get an appointment which is understandably busier than usual. I called up a few times and spoke to John who I must say is the loveliest person, really polite and helpful and also helped my Mum with her problem. Fantastic experience: I was in my fourties when I finally decided to go for an orthodontic treatment to align my front tooth and install a bridge at the place of missing tooth. Obviously, I was nervous. My case was complicated as I got an impacted K9 tooth. Dr.Shah at Hemel Smile was fantastic. He explained the treatment plan to me and reassured me of every step of the journey. I got my smile back and worth all the effort. Very grateful to Dr. Shah and the Hemel Smile team.

Fantastic experience: I was so grateful for being given an emergency appointment, they actually rang me and asked can I come down at a particular time. I did and was so grateful as I was in alot of pain from an abscess under a molar. Every body in reception was amazing welcoming and very professional. But the Asian dentist lady was not so nice made me feel like a scumbag. I was trying to make light of a very horrible situation I was in by making conversation and giving some history about my past dental experiences and she was just silent the whole time. I appreciated the fact she helped me I really was but she had no empathy towards me. Perhaps she was having a bad day I suppose. But I did leave feeling like a English scumbag. But every body else was lovely especially the guy on reception. Very good at his job he is an asset to the dental surgery.

Negative experience: I have always gone to see dr. Limani who is amazing; I give him 5 stars and will miss him as my dentist. This review is not a reflection on him as a dentist. He is very kind and is great at his job. But the reception and administration for this dentist have treated me very poorly in my time of need. I had a bad and traumatic accident where I’ve broken my jaw in two places. I really needed to see a dentist for my tooth trauma but they advised me my dentist was on holiday for two weeks. I thought it was odd they didn’t just offer me to see someone else considering my situation. I asked to see someone else and they had to check if that was ok first, this was obviously distressing to me that they were happy for me to wait just because my dentist is on holiday? The soonest I could see another dentist was a weeks time, and they would take a £65 deposit from me, I asked if I could get the deposit back if I found somewhere else to see me sooner and they told me that would be fine. I found another dentist who would see me that same day so I went and started to get the help I need elsewhere. I rang back the next day to cancel my appointment and they asked me why, so I explained again what happened, put me on hold… I then get told that my deposit would be transferred to my upcoming hygienist appointment, I’ve been getting hygienist appointments every 3 months at this dentist without paying a deposit. I just said I want my money back and they were making it difficult for me in my already difficult time. I’m now waiting for my cheque to arrive and it’s been nearly 2 weeks. I asked if I could just have it transferred back to me and they said it’s against company policy. I think the receptionist team could have been a bit more understanding and compassionate towards my situation from the start. I have my jaw banded shut and I’m in a lot of pain, it’s already very difficult to talk and the team really didn’t treat me well. I have found another dentist who sees me alongside a maxillofacial surgeon who charge me way less and help me very quickly. I miss my dentist but the way the company is run and with no compassion to each situation is really distressing. I have been at the Hemel Smile Studios for two years and I’ve never had an issue like this. I think you could have been more compassionate and been better at communicating throughout the process considering unique situations.

Fantastic experience: I wanted to use this as an opportunity to pay tribute to Hema and the rest of the team. I was incredibly apprehensive prior to the extraction of a broken tooth last year, and Hema was fantastically reassuring and explained the entire procedure to me. It is a pleasure to have her as my dentist, and I would recommend her and Hemel Smile Studios to anybody anxious about routine check-ups or more complex dental procedures. Thank you!

Negative experience: Pretty poor service. Receptionists were clueless when booking the appointment but I didn’t judge and continued anyway. Saw dr shah for a private paid for Invisalign consultation on a Friday he told me I would receive the plan on the Saturday/ Sunday. I received an email on Sunday saying it was attached IT WASNT so I replied instantly telling him this I did not get a reply for a further 3 days (Wednesday) saying sorry for the mistake and it would be re sent that same evening. IT WASNT so I chased again and received no response. What an absolute scam and waste of money. Totally unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: Had my first dental appointment in September 2020 after a few years of not going to my previous dentist. The dentist on the day was Neil Kapoor, who made me feel welcome, knowledgeable and the whole experience very comfortable. I was again booked to see a hygienist Katie McAulslan who again made the whole visit very pleasant including the excellent work carried out on the day. Covid-19 protocols on both visits are very thorough so definitely recommend Hemel Smile Studios.

Fantastic experience: Having not had any dental work for some years I was a little nervous about having a filling replaced, Dentist Nilesh and Nurse Pamela put me completely at ease and I did not feel a thing. Great service and treatment.

Negative experience: I've had my braces consultation there. When booking it and paying upfront, the reception staff didn't know the price ranges for any braces and didn't know if the consultation fee of £50 would be deducted from the braces cost if booked with them. It wasn't! Plus they changed me additional £70 for an xray and didn't even do full dental or gum check. The consultation was okay but I've had other consultations either for free £50 including an xray. Rip off!

Fantastic experience: Dr Mariam and Eram are amazing! Needed an emergency appointment, they saw me and extracted my tooth in less then a minute (probably longer than a minute but felt like a minute). Both were kind and thoughtful. Thank you both very much.

Fantastic experience: We are nearly 10 years with Hemel Smile Studios and always received the best advice and service. Doctors and nurses are very friendly, they always supported my youngest child who is extremely scared from everything new and never cooperated with anyone. Our Dr Shah was always brilliant with my two children.

Fantastic experience: My seven year old had his first filling today so was very nervous as last appointment was two years ago. Thankfully though Dr Mariam and Nurse Irum ensured he was comfortable and relaxed. It was all worth it when he was given a sticker (and not a lollipop ;)) We are over twenty miles away but I know children can be funny with dentists so wouldn't change it for somewhere closer. Thank you guys.

Fantastic experience: Dr mariam and her dental assistant maria have been absolutely amazing . I started seeing Dr mariam about 2 yesterday ago and she has eliminated my fear of the dentist . She is sympathic and explains everything to you . The service Dr mariam provides is professional, caring and friendly as is maria her assistant. They are a great team and I'm actually happy to go to the dentist. Highly highly recommended

Fantastic experience: Dr Shah has been my dentist for over 14 years and I recommend him to everybody. Professional, experienced, honest, friendly, understanding and his work is exceptional! I have 13 year old fillings that have never faulted, he moulded a tricky corner of my chipped tooth which years later is perfect My 10 year old daughter has no worries at all going to the dentist, as he is very friendly and talks through every step, making you feel at ease. I now live an hour away, but I still visit Dr Shah because he is the best of the best!! Please never retire

Fantastic experience: Sean Dr Mariam and Pam today for two fillings and a clean. I have always been frightened of the dentist after a bad experience many years ago. Dr Mariam and Pam made me feel at ease and explained every step of the procedure. I have always been very nervous of the dentist but not now as I have every confidence in Dr Mariam and Pam.

Fantastic experience: Made me feel very comfortable! I hadn’t been to the dentist in 7 years. I was very nervous however Nilesh Limani and his team made me feel at ease. I booked an emergency appointment but wasn’t in any pain so got an appointment the following week, I needed a filling and was in and out in 15 minutes! Could not fault the service and I will be back for routine check ups!

Fantastic experience: Throughout the coronavirus pandemic the surgery has kept in contact offering services within the limits of Covid restrictions. Even offering non-dental service help such as possibility of providing emergency food collection to local elderly clients! Recently, I have needed attention for dental reasons and experienced very helpful and efficient help including a very well organised dental surgery visit with MARIAM. The initial appointment went very smoothly & I was given temporary relief with a further appointment coming up early next month (April). The whole operation has given me great comfort knowing that such a vital health service is available when required even within the difficult Covid circumstances. All very much appreciated.

Fantastic experience: Ok...who likes going to the dentist.....HELLO is anybody there :-) Well from the first contact by phone to the contactless payment at the end, it was a a friendly professional service all the the way. I had a rear tooth extraction by Nilesh. He immediately put me at ease with his friendly manner. The tooth was extracted painlessly and today being the next day, I can say I have had no pain or discomfort. Highly recommended. Thanks to all !!

Fantastic experience: Yesterday my daughter was in for 2 teeth to be taken out by Dr Mariam, all I can say is how wonderful she was. Explaining every stage and extremely reassuring.
