Fantastic experience: Fantastic dentist practise. Dr sarfraz and team are wonderful and made my children's first appointment an enjoyable first time experience. Dr sarfraz was incredibly friendly and kind making animal balloons for the children as it was their first appointment. He's also very professional and informative. Dr Sidra is also a wonderful and kind dentist too. Overall a wonderful experience each time we visit.

Fantastic experience: Professional and friendly staff. Clean and spotless environment. The dentist himself is very patient and does a thorough check whilst keeping my children nerves (and mine!) at bay. My children have always had a positive experience and look forward to the stickers they receive! The dental nurses and entire team involved handle it all with both warmth and professionalism.

Positive experience: The doctors are good and their treatment is elegant, but there is a white girl at the reception who seems to be Pakistani. She is uncomfortable and very rude.

Negative experience: Went for normal check up requested for filling in one tooth .Dentist didn't mention anything if there was infection in the tooth. After 2 days swear pain started with infection which gone so worse had to go emergency hospital to take the tooth out.

Positive experience: Very friendly and truly professional filling was carried out in few minutes. All in all very good experience.

Negative experience: I’ve honestly had enough of the unprofessional behaviour from one of the receptionists at this dentist. She is loud, rude, and completely disrespectful toward patients. It’s shocking how she’s still working there when so many people have complained about her. Instead of doing her job, she spends her time gossiping and backbiting patients, bragging about how her husband gives her money, talking about makeup, and discussing personal nonsense that has nothing to do with her work. This isn’t a beauty salon — it’s a dental clinic where people come in pain looking for help. Her attitude and behaviour are unacceptable and embarrassing for the entire practice. I personally know a patient who caught her on record gossiping about others — that’s how bad it’s got. If the management has any sense, they’ll take action immediately. Either train her properly or sack her, because she’s destroying the reputation of this place. I’m saying this as a paying patient — I will not be returning until this issue is sorted. We deserve respect, privacy, and professionalism, not loud gossip and arrogance at the front desk.

The property up the stairs needs to be repainted asap not a good look. Shouting from the top of the stairs for the next patient is not professional etiquette.

Fantastic experience: Dr Nada Nawab is one of the most amazing dentists I have come across. She sees both my sons. My youngest son is 5 and she is so patient with him because he doesn't cooperate easily. She is the only dentist that he will open is mouth for. Very good experience since the first time I came here. The receptionists are also very helpful, polite and will always do their best to accommodate any request. I would recommend this practice to everyone I know.

Positive experience: Dentist arrived late to the first appointment at 09:30am today. Resulting in a later planned finish and missing school lessons. Staff Punctuality should be key to the start of the day. The receptionist staff lack finesse and seem aggressive with their telephone manners when calling about reminders to make sure clients attend the appointments.

Update on Sparkhill Dental Surgery Well I’m here again, with my 2024 review! I’m now at the stage where my 40+ years of smoking has revealed where all the tar goes. Not just into your lungs but also into your gums and the hidden parts of the teeth. As we age, the gums recede and exposes the damage and it ain’t pretty! Black brittle teeth that you can easily snap them off While eating soft bread or accidentally hitting them with your spoon knife or fork. That’s me right now. Great care and time taken to explain the next set of procedures and we started yesterday. Plans are in place and I know exactly what is going to happen and once again I’m not one bit fearful or frightened by going to the dentist which I went through for many years as explained below. A down to earth dentist ( natural decent guy who is not driven by the clock when he needs to inform his patients about moving forward and his assistant who has a friendly, professional approach who alway seems to be happy are a pleasure to have as a “caring” duo of dental professionals. Don’t be afraid of dentists anymore! It’s taken me the best part of thirty years or more to no longer fear and put off one of the most important health professionals in the health sector. Don’t waste you time or stress yourself out any more. They are, in a word…. Great! I am at a loss for credible words to offer the general public about this surgery, from the staff on the front desk and the surgeon and assistant nurse who have taken care of me since Covid19 hit the U.K. back in February/March 2020. You’ll see below how this Dental Surgery have been taking care of my excruciating painful lower front teeth. Four in a row. I have kept away from dentists for many years due to poor “Private” Dentistry Surgeons that I have paid extortionate and unaffordable fees for a dreadful service and very painful, poor and disappointing outcome afterwards! So here’s my most recent update review on Sparkhill Dental Surgery: I live 44 miles away from the surgery and would happily travel twice the distance! DURING THE LOCKDOWN due to emergency pain, I have had four lower front teeth extractions in preparation for a lower partial denture to be made and fitted: Step one: This dentist took impressions of all my existing and the degrading four front lower teeth. Step Two: I returned to the surgery and had the four lower teeth extracted in timely intervals to avoid infection setting in by removing them all in one go so to speak. Step three: On my next visit the last two more lower wobbly,loose and painful teeth were removed. To my surprise at the end of the appointment I was presented with a partial denture to replace the four extractions! These dentures I was informed were to serve me as “temporary” dentures while my mouth/jaw adjusted to the removal of the genuine teeth that were torturing me for MONTHS! I returned at the appointed time for a final impression to be taken for the permanent partial denture to be made and fitted. Now anyone who has been through this procedure will be well aware that there’s considerable adjustment to the lower jaw while awaiting the “permanent” partial denture being manufactured. Step four: I returned to the surgery for the temporary partial denture to be removed and my mouth remeasured for the final permanent dentures to be readjusted for the slightest change in my mouth/lower jaw. The final impression was taken in a matter of minutes and I was told to return in ten days for the fitting of my permanent “new ” denture. Well.... all done! I’m going back to the surgery in a week and unbeknown to me, the surgeon also took an impression of my “upper” missing teeth (from years of neglect due to “my fear” of dentists! I was and still am happy and content with the “temporary” dentures the surgeon provided me with! Nevertheless, I am going back to have the “permanent” adjusted dentures fitted in two weeks. When I say “trust” I mean it

Fantastic experience: I have been visiting this practice for many years and travel from a different area to attend. My family are also registered here. The receptionist and practice manager are always fantastic and very accommodating. However I attended for an appointment yesterday with a new dentist SULEMAN SUHEYL as Mohammed Sarfraz, my previous dentist is no longer there. I was absolutely appauled by the patient care provided and the arrogance of MR SUHEYL. Firstly I waited 40 minutes to be seen as he was running behind and when I was seen he refused to do my treatment as he said he was “running late” and wanted me to make another appointment and he would then do what treatment necessary at the next appointment. But yet he wanted me to pay for the service which was literally opening my mouth for 30 seconds. What a joke! I am fully aware of what treatment I am paying for as it is on the GDC guidelines. So please check these out! He had no empathy and no understanding of patient care at all. He may call himself a dentist but lacks all the credentials of a good dentist. Being a dentist isn’t just about holding the title—it’s about actually doing the job properly. That means treating patients with care, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring they feel comfortable. If you can’t do that, then you’re not just failing your patients—you’re failing at the very job you’re paid to do. As a so called professional person you would think common sense prevails as MR SUHEYL took a further 30 minutes explaining why he couldn’t do my treatment delaying further patients who were waiting rather than doing the treatment as he could have completed this within 5 minutes. If it wasn’t for the practice manager who had more empathy and patient care skills and provided a resolution to my grievance I would have taken this matter further. I won’t be seeing MR SUHEYL again and hope that the next dentist I have been booked with is more experienced and possesses all the attributes of a good dentist. It is a shame that dentists like Suheyl who are employed by a reputable practice damage the reputation of that practice. Thank you Atiffa who went out of her way to address the issues!

Fantastic experience: After suffering severe pain from broken tooth I went to the surgery and was greeted by the receptionist who was very professional and sympathetic and listened to my concerns. Fantastic experience: My dentist, Nada Nawab, is very efficient and skilled. Everytime I go to Sparkhill dental surgery, she does a thorough clean and break down/feedback of everything she will do and how I can deal with certain issues. When the doctors couldn't figure out a seriously painful infection I had last year, my dentist was quick to realise what it was and prescribed me the appropriate medication for it. Highly reccomend for anyone looking for a reliable and professional dentist.

Fantastic experience: Only ever been with this dentist, so can't compare with anywhere else, but they look after my teeth so no complaints. Sarfraz was really good and came across as quite passionate about looking after his patients (as was Nigel Whitling, my original dentist at this practice) but he has left - hopefully he returns. Receptionists are brilliant, especially Zara. Always polite, professional and makes effort to accommodate requests around appointment timing. Makes a nice change from other places like my GP where you are made to feel like a nuisance for asking a simple and reasonable question.

Negative experience: So I get an appointment with this surgery. Unfortunately, it was several weeks away. When I do finally go for the check up I am told that my dentist only works on Thursdays?! So I will have to wait for another few weeks to be seen despite a broken tooth. I then find out that they are prioritising private patients. Here is how this surgery works, it makes sure that they leave NHS patients waiting until the tooth or problem gets worse, the patient is now in pain and cannot wait any longer so they decide to go private instead. So they win. It's profiteering and in some respects extortion. Not to mention they always threaten to remove you from their list as a patient that is if you don't book regular check ups with them. So I cancelled this surgery and went to another one, one that deals with NHS patients and they saw me within a week. They obviously thought I was desperate enough to stay with Sparkhill Surgery but they were mistaken. The NHS is amazing! But there are so many dentists out there that really let the side down and why have they all gone private, don't they care about those who have smaller pockets??

Negative experience: I was a patient here for a couple of years and can honestly say it’s the worst dental practice I’ve used. Next to no customer service from front reception, very unprofessional (discussing what dentists earn in front of a room of patients in waiting room, calling patients on the phone and then slagging them off, truly shocking. Dentist doesn’t really engage and seems inexperienced. Pile it high and sell it cheap approach. Please remember your patients are human beings. Just because you are based in Sparkhill doesn’t mean you treat everyone like cattle. I heard a member of staff say ‘we need more private paying patients here’ you have no chance - people won’t pay for your service. Invest in some good quality staff, experienced dentists and treat patients with respect - it’s not difficult.

Fantastic experience: I recently visited the dentist, and I must say that my experience was fantastic. The receptionist at the clinic was absolutely amazing – so polite and welcoming. It really set a positive tone for my visit right from the start. When it came to Dr. Sidra Tul Muntaha, she took the time to explain every step of cleaning my braces and made sure I felt comfortable throughout the process. What impressed me even more was that there wasn’t much waiting around before I got in to see her; they were very respectful of my time, which is something you don’t always find at medical appointments these days!

Negative experience: Unfortunately I had an unpleasant experience with regards to confidentiality. The dentist Dr Sidra, while explaining what I needed to improve on with my cleaning routine and asking questions around my personal life had the door fully open and spoke quite loudly (for no reason as I was sitting opposite her) which would have been easily heard by the receptionists and people waiting in the waiting area. It had happened the last time as well but I overlooked it. It left me feeling quite shamed and exposed especially when I walked back out into the reception area. I believe that was a breach of confidentiality on her part. It's any professional's job to create a safe and confidential environment for their patients/clients. We bring our vulnerable parts to you and you failed to provide a safe environment the last two times I visited. Unfortunately I won't be returning.
