Total Dentalcare Folkestone provides NHS and private dental care. We offer general dental treatments including check-ups, fillings, crowns, root canal treatment, dental bridge-work, teeth whitening and smile-makeovers. Our dedicated TDC Implant Centre is located at the same address and is a centre of excellence for same day dental implants. We are leaders in the Smile in a Day same-day implant procedure. We are accepting new private patients. Bupa has added a new dental allowance to self-paying private health insurance policies. Fantastic experience: The Dental surgery staff are all very friendly and professional. I couldn't ask for a better service from them when they did my dental implants. Once again I feel like I have confidence in my teeth when eating and also feel more comfortable about smiling. The Dental nurse Emma also took my blood pressure for me on another visit and was very impressed by how thorough she was. Anyone needing Dental treatment I would highly recommend this surgery.

Negative experience: Came in with a gum infection. Was told that it would cost 56 pound to see the dentist. Was told by the dentist that I have a gum infection. I was told that I have to have an x-ray which I didn't want but was told that I have to have it but they fail to tell me that it would cost an extra 21 pound. And this was all done just to tell me that I have a gum infection. I was given a prescription for antibiotics for a gum infection. I had to pay 9.99 for the antibiotics... So all in all I paid 87 pounds for antibiotics for gum infection .

Fantastic experience: Today I visited the Sandgate road dental surgery.The reception staff were friendly,helpful and efficient.My dentist and assistant were welcoming making me feel at ease. I received a thorough dental examination which included looking for any abnormalities or ulcers on the tongue which was reassuring.After the examination we discussed possible treatment that may be necessary in the future but at present it was a thumbs up.Pictures were taken and showed to me on the computer so I could see plaque build up and a visit to the hygienist was recommended. Overall the visit and service was 5 star.

Negative experience: * edit thanks for the response but I did reach out and spoke to the manager before leaving the review. Very unhappy with the recent appointments they have a charge as much as we can attitude so I ended up paying over £1200 to have a tooth removed they didn’t have the decency to use lube before they violated me . Tried speaking to the manager to be told we don’t have a price list as all dentists under there roof charge different rates as some are good ♂️

Fantastic experience: This is Linda Hulse writing. I feel very lucky to have Dr Ansari as my dentist. He is always patient and explains carefully treatment options. Together with nurse Ishwari they make a visit a lot less stressful.I hope he stays at the practise for a long time !

Fantastic experience: Have to recommend this BUPA dental practice, the treatments are first class! Just been to the hygienists, excellent care from Casey and Paige, the premises are clean, bright, and welcoming. I am not a nervous patient, but witnessed the care all of the staff gave to a scared elderly lady today, so she could have her treatment successfully.

Fantastic experience: Very good service still but we need an NHS dentist asap, not too chuffed at having to pay twice for my treatments, but that’s the way it is. Place is clean and the staff are friendly, no problems there!

Negative experience: I did have a regular check on September which they cancel. They keep telling that they do not have an NHS dentist and if I want I can book privately but will loose my NHS registration. Not good anymore.

There is currently a recognised nationwide shortage of NHS dentists across the UK which is causing delays or difficulty in booking appointments. Negative experience: The Dentist I used to see decided to go private which has meant I can only see a Hygienist, this doesn't give me the treatment I may require. Paying nearly £100.00 to have my teeth scraped isn't treatment it is just an expensive way to clean my teeth.
We are sorry to read your feedback. Hygiene appointments do offer a professional clean that can help maintain a healthy mouth and guard against serious future issues. But we respect the personal choices of each patient.
Negative experience: I left a favourable review last year but a lot has changed since then. I was an NHS patient but the practice kept cancelling my check up appointments, stating they were to busy. In the end I went online to book an appointment and got one within a week, which was good, I thought. However, it was only after having my check up and paying at reception, was I told that I'd have to pay as a private patient. I explained I had always been an NHS patient and my dentist who had treated me, was an NHS dentist. I was informed that my dentist, who I have been seeing for years by the way, is now a private dentist and they didn't have any NHS dentists at the moment, so Id have to pay for private treatment. It appears BUPA have taken over this dentist, turned all the NHS dentists into private ones and state they no longer have any NHS staff. Absolute madness. I'm now writing to BUPA for an explanation.

Negative experience: We had a great dentist but he was the only NHS dentist and decided to go private and now myself and my four children no longer have a dentist and cannot afford to go private! Nowhere else is taking on NHS patients and it has left a lot of people worried about theirs and their children's teeth!!
