Negative experience: Very little continuity of care as they change dental staff regularly. However, the absolute worst aspect is communication. It is virtually impossible to contact them by phone at times. I regularly spend over 15 minutes as number 1 in the queue. The only reason you get to number one is everyone else giving up before you.

Fantastic experience: Called yesterday, got an appointment today had to pay for a private appointment £125 and I was told the treatment would be extra.examination, x-ray ad extraction for no extra. One happy pain free lady.

Negative experience: Absolutely shocking disorganisation from the reception team, they had an opening for NHS patients to apply and to book appointments in, I emailed them to get myself an appointment, first they said in an email to myself that I have been placed on the waiting list but they couldn't tell me when an appointment is available due to many people waiting for one, I thought I was forgotten about so I emailed them again about an appointment, they replied asking for my details and date of birth etc, they stated the NHS waiting list opening is now closed and tried to push a private consultation instead, when I emailed back to state as a NHS paitent would I still be able to get a NHS appointment, they then replied and stated that after putting my details into the system i have not been placed onto the list, I then showed them the previous email of them stating I have and asking why have they sent that email, and why have they lied and stated i have, no reply of course, no answer, i have been totally ignored on that on, so either they have lied about placing me on the list, and send out fake emails to say I have, or they cant be bothered to give me a an appointment, absolute shocking work from reception team, lovely manners of ignoring patients, all I asked for is an appointment, and I got lied to and ignored for no reason.

Fantastic experience: I was treated by Dr Shahjahaan. Amazing service. I went for a number of issues. I was given honest advice where I can financially manage treatment cost in a more realistic way and only do treatments which i can manage financially. The tretments have resolved my dental issues. Fantastic experience: After many, many years of enduring gum recession, bone loss, loose and crooked teeth, I decided to try and have a smile I’d be happy with. I went for full dentures with implants and naturally I was both nervous and apprehensive about it. But right from the start, my treatment was carried out professionally, with care and attention to detail from Ketan, including a clear plan for the procedure. The process was long, over 6 months, but I never had any problems. The result? Amazing! Simply amazing! I can’t get over how good my teeth look! My friends and family have commented on how natural my smile is and how real my teeth look. Everything is just perfect and I’m so very happy! I can never thank Ketan and Alanah enough, for what they’ve done for me and how I was treated and looked after. I have a wonderful, natural smile and I have my confidence back! Fantastic experience: I had an emergency appointment via 111 and was referred to My Dentist in Broad Street, Halifax. Dr Asad Shah and Emily both greeted me. They were both so professional and very attentive. Emily was lovely and was supportive towards her dentist. Emily was so approachable and supportive throughout the entire appointment. She made sure to ask me if I was okay at all times. Dr Asad was beyond exceptional, he was very informative and he talked me through pretty much every stage of the procedure. He was very gentle in his nature and ensured I was comfortable and happy throughout the whole procedure. He explained throughly each and every step of the treatments he used on me. I was very impressed with his work ethics and it just demonstrated how he values his patients with a great deal of integrity and kindness. His reassurance was so comforting and I felt at ease the whole time. It was such a painful procedure and the process felt gruelling- however, he did such a fantastic job of calming me down and allowing me to breathe when required. He took so much consideration in the fact that I am a Chronic ITP patient and it could Farley be so complex for me if the appropriate measures weren’t put into place. Thank you Dr Asad and Emily. Negative experience: I've been with this practice for many years and until the "Covid years" I was very happy here. After restrictions were lifted I was sad to learn the dentist I saw previously had retired. I have had only one subsequent appointment, they have made no effort to contact me since. I had no confidence in the practitioner I saw, who had to refer to a more senior colleague 3 times during my treatment. I am disappointed to find that the Clare Road practice is permanently closed. I currently have a tooth that needs attention, but I dread that they will say I need to look for another practice or go private.

Fantastic experience: Reading the comments, I was actually dreading my emergency appointment here. It just goes to show that you should never judge a place by it's comments. I'm an extremely nervous and reluctant dental patient, but the dentist I saw was not only understanding, but he was kind and patient too. He didn't jump to conclusions like my last dentist did, he listened to me and took the time to explain my options to me. He didn't rush me for a decision, and I wasn't made to feel like like I needed to hurry so he could get to his next patient. It made a whole world of difference, and my experience wasn't traumatic, like my last one was (different dental practice). I felt listened to looked after. I can't thank them enough for being so professional, and taking the time to actually make a difference. I would definitely recommend them and will hopefully be able to stick with them for any future appointments.

Negative experience: I've been with this dental practice for over 20 years, but it seems to have gone really down hill lately. I've had my appointment cancelled 3 times in a row, so what should have been a typical 9 months between check ups, ended up being nearly 2 years. I can understand that it's something that's bound to happen every now and again, but 3 times in a row? The third time they cancelled my appointment, they didn't even inform me. I showed up only to be told it had been cancelled and that I should have received the information regarding this - which I hadn't. It was annoying because it was a waste of bus fair. Luckily, the receptionist was really nice, and was able to book me an appointment with another dentist within 2 days. I really hope that they can get themselves better organised, since I could've had something wrong and not realised, and in the time it took to finally get to an appointment, there could've been some serious damage done. Also it's just plain annoying and aggravating.

Negative experience: Shocking service, complete lack of information given by staff. I made an appointment to see a dentist for urgent issues cost £75, for check up. Prescription for antibiotics. I needed another prescription as first wasn't enough to clear infection. Called in to practice to be told dentist only works Wednesday. If i saw another it would cost me another £75. I called following Wednesday dentist wasn't there. Also no prescription. I told reception staff I will call the following Wednesday similar time due to work commitments. Was informed that would be OK. The following Wednesday no dentist no prescription. This receptionist at least informed me that my particular dentist only works Wednesday mornings. But would put a request for a prescription. I finally get a phone call to say prescription is ready. At a further cost of £15 to write a prescription. So I now have to find another dentist. By the time I actually get to have work done on my tooth I will have paid close to £200. If I'd have been informed at the beginning about my dentist limited time scale I would have never used them. Mydentists incompetence has cost me a lot of money. And left me going weeks with an infected tooth. Shocking service.

Negative experience: Very disappointed. Had an appointment through the NHS was told I had to have a root canal filling as I was in excruciating pain. Asked for more information and the Dentist did not look at all confident. Was then told I had to be booked in with the professional as the Dentist I was booked in with was “not experienced enough” and I would have to pay private. Only appointment available was in September. Totally wasted my time and left with just a numb mouth. Don’t know why I was booked in with someone who wasn’t confident in root canal treatment. What does a degree in dentistry mean these days? Are they not trained properly?

The plan states that you were given options for a number of different treatments that were declined, following this the clinician advised that you seek a dental practice in order that you can go ahead with any treatment requirements. All clinicians have different specialties in their field but dependant on the level of difficulty in some treatments i.e. RCT/XLA they may require a specialist, in this instance appears that this was the case.

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment booked through 111 emergency for a broken tooth .I was seen the day later after 111 were a little slow to send me an appointment. I was seen at mydental Halifax Saturday morning promptly. Fantastic experience: I have recently had a tooth implant done by Ketan after losing a tooth to a Skittle (the sweet, not the game). The whole experience was thoroughly professional and extremely friendly, from the initial appointment with Zul to my final appointment with Ketan, who seemed as thrilled with my impant as I am. Zul was knowledgable about the procedure and very reassuring. All my options throughout the process were explained clearly and in great detail and my concerns were listened to and taken into account at every stage. I can't say the whole thing was pain free, but I had to have the remnants of a tooth yanked out so it was never going to be a picnic, but this was short-lived and the results are well worth it. Ketan absolutely knows his stuff and, if ever in a losing scrap with a Skittle again, I would definitely turn to him with confidence to fill any gaps in my smile.

Negative experience: Absolutely shocking cancelled my kids appointments 4 times in a row now 1 year I've been trying to get an appointment make it for months in advance cos it's all they have! Then they cancelled the day before or the same day. Wouldn't even see my son for an emergency infection had to ring emergency dentist for him. Joke of a place. Unless your willing to pay private you've got no chance

Fantastic experience: I recently had a dental implant done by my dentist at Broadway Plaza in Halifax, and the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish. The procedure was completely pain-free, and my recovery was surprisingly quick. Dr Ketan and his team was incredibly friendly and professional, and the communication throughout was clear and reassuring. The technology they use is top-notch, and everything was explained to me in a way that made me feel confident and at ease. What really stood out was Dr Ketan’s professionalism —everything was done with such care and precision. The final result looks so natural, you honestly wouldn’t know I ever lost a tooth. Negative experience: Was my NHS dentist but because I had not been for 18 months dropped off the NHS list. I rang with a chipped tooth and said they could only do it privately, so booked. 5 mins before the appointment and just as I was getting to the dentist they rang me and cancelled appointment saying there were no dentists in. They took my money up front too. Crap service.

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment with Dr Butt. He was on time for the appointment. We had a friendly greeting. He made us feel comfortable. My son was feeling nervous and Dr Butt used small talk and humour to lighten him up. He sat on the chair and complied with the checkup. Thankfully my son was okay. I had a checkup too and Dr Waz did a scan, followed by a scale and polish. Dr Butt was polite, professional and just a great guy making us all comfortable. We're looking forward to our next checkup in 6 months.

Fantastic experience: Having not been able to book into a dentist after Covid and trying to get NHS I ended up booking into here. Couldn’t have been more happier, really nice service, and my Dentist, Barzy Jaza, is phenomenal. Very polite, friendly and made me feel at ease straight away. Fantastic experience: Today I had a top dental plate fitted by Fiaza.It fits perfectly around my existing teeth and is very comfortable.Fiaza and her assistant also have a great,friendly and professional manner.

Negative experience: Hold messages say they’re taking on NHS patients. But when you finally get through the hold, you’re then informed they’re only taking on private patients and they “can’t change the automated message” this is clearly a lie.

Negative experience: Genuinely the worst dental office i have ever been to. I’ve been waiting for treatment since August last year, they kept delaying my appointments. i told them im in extreme pain but clearly they didn’t care seen as though im still waiting for treatment till this day. Over the phone they told me to ring 111 dentist like why?? when i did ring 111 they told me that they can’t provide the treatment for me because im already registered to a dentistry. When i came in for an x-ray the dentist told me she’ll send a referral in for an EMERGENCY appointment at the hospital and they will contact me within a week and this happened in OCTOBER. I rang the hospital they allegedly ‘referred’ me to and they told me they can’t even access my information and my referral is at a completely different hospital than what they told me, so i rang back here and they told me i have to go ring the hospital back like ugh im so frustrated. There’s way more to this story but im probably just wasting my breath, idk if this is some sort of discrimination because im not from here, it honestly feels like it. I would NEVER recommend this dentistry even to my worst enemy. My health has been neglected, im STILL in pain and i am STILL waiting for treatment and it is about to be April, so overall 8 months of nothing. Don’t even want to call them anymore because they will try to delay the referral even longer as they tried to last time I rang in. I’m genuinely debating if i should report this to the NHS honestly this place should be CLOSED down. Take me off that patient list because im never coming back here again.

Negative experience: Just been for my yearly check up and told it was postponed last August! This has happened before but they text me to inform me, but they said they sent a letter this time, obviously not received it and I doubt it was even sent. Im an NHS patient which leads me to believe they don’t care as they are predominantly private and always trying to sell you treatments whilst in the chair. The only thing keeping me there is the fact no other dentists taking on NHS.

Fantastic experience: I have just completed my treatment with Fiaza Bashir and Nurse Lisa. Fiaza was very professional, knowledgeable and patient. She has a lovely approachable nature and appears to understand anxiety. Lisa as well. They both engage really well. If you are anxious or have mental health issues I would highly recommend them, in fact I would highly recommend them to everyone. I can’t thank Fiaza enough. I would also like to mention the reception staff who were lovely.

Negative experience: Rang the surgery. I was 2nd in the queue for 38 minutes and ended up leaving a message for someone to get back to me. Within 2 weeks I had to make two app't for the same tooth problem. Was charged both times £26.80. For this charge I had one x-ray, a prescription for antibiotics and a cap on another tooth refixed for a second time. On neither occasion was I given a checkup which my records showed one was due. I was fobbed off by being told it was a review instead. Then they had the audacity to send me a letter saying I needed a check up. No doubt another £26.80.

Negative experience: Expensive, appointments are never on time and they are almost impossible to contact via phone. In addsiion on more than one occasion I eventually terminated the call after more than 1h15 on hold. Avoid this practice if you can.

Fantastic experience: had a tooth out a week ago so called in today on off chance. slight pain mainly because it was a difficult extraction. a dentist saw me with in 20 minutes, the two young ladies who i saw dentist and assistant were so polite an friendly. excellent service.

Negative experience: I am 74 an NHS patient with My dentist in Halifax. Since this company took over the practice from Brearley Green the service has been appalling. I went a year without a check up.My appointment for a check up and to see the hygienist has now been cancelled 3 times. Today it was cancelled 2 hours before I was due to attend. I’m sure it is because I am an NHS patient. The company are still taking on private patients. Is there someone looking into this state of affairs, who I can complain to?

Positive experience: I've been with my dentist for years now and I've never had a single issue with staff or the premises. They're always polite and my dentist always makes sure to check if I'm ok when she's working n me. My only problem is the call queue, like many other people I've sat in the queue for ages in the past. I do always get through eventually and I always manage to get an appointment.

Negative experience: Rubbish. I used to be with a fantastic dentist that were then bought out by these. They're all just about money and not interested in the patients. Haven't been to them for a while because of financial difficulties and I just phoned them to make an appointment and I was told I was no longer registered with them. They never sent me any email or anything to inform me if this. Absolute rubbish customer service.

Negative experience: Mydentist and Denplan are both laughable companies. I requested my plan be cancelled before it had began as shortly after signing up we were due to move. I received confirmation from the practice that this had been done for me. A few weeks later they still took £50 from my bank at which point I contacted Denplan for a refund. They immediately passed blame back to the practice as it was their ‘error’. So back to the practice I went who, shock, passed the baton straight back. These two companies, to whom £50 would not mean anything, have been passing this blame back and forth for months without one taking responsibility, and I am left still down £50. Jokers.

Negative experience: If there's an option of not giving star, i would do. Changed address so many times and whenever I come and ask for my address they still have my previous address. Also booked for hygienist and when I arrived, I was told it was only for 10mins to see my dentist. Receptionist was also being rude as speaking over me. Not happy with this service at all.

Fantastic experience: Have been with Nairn for over 20 years now and have always been happy with him. He is kind and compassionate and always explains what hes doing whilst finding the time to have that personal touch and ask about me. I have sometimes had difficulty in getting thru to the practice, but that aside, have always received good NHS care here and it is made less traumatic by a very able and caring dentist in Nairn Goodman.

Negative experience: Trying to move from this set of mercenaries as soon as possible. This is the future of dentistry for many of us unfortunately. Bigger companies snapping-up practices and turning them into faceless, depressing conveyor belts, more interested in trying to sell you products than provide decent treatment. The reception staff are surly, unhelpful bunch (I spent around 30-40 minutes waiting after checking-in only to find out that they hadn’t checked me in. Didn’t really get much of an apology. I complained after my last treatment as I was in agony for days. I think they acknowledged my compliant but then it all went quiet. They’ll get back to you very quickly if you want dental implants costing thousands though!

Negative experience: Receptionists don't answer the phone. I've gone from 4th to 2nd in the queue and I'm guessing that's just because the other people waiting just gave up. Negative experience: About 2 years ago I had a lovely dentist worth every penny then she left I was given to an absolute butcher and told nobody else ls available, just went for my 9 month checkup to find out he left months ago and now I'm without a dentist, supposedly sent me a letter that I never got, no text reminder nothing. Now I have to pay private or wait until after Xmas to see if any dentists have a spare slot for me!! This isn't the first cancellation I've been given either, on at least two other occasions I've had my appointment cancelled and pushed months ahead. I wouldn't mind if my appointment time was held but I'd turn up 8.50 for a 9.00 appointment and then see the dentist rock up at 9.20!! Absolute joke of an establishment

Our Halifax practice is providing NHS services, however, as we have a number of unfilled NHS dentist vacancies, we are currently not able to accommodate every patient who is contacting us seeking NHS dental care, we are however expecting to recruit at any time. We do have a number of private clinicians at the practice who offer private appointments outside of any NHS contractual obligations. These private options will be offered to patients as an alternative way to access dental care with us.

Negative experience: My appointment has been cancelled yet again, rang up see if I could swap to another dentist In the practice, but apparently not have to stick to the NHS dentist, rang back again and said I would pay private, and surprise surprise, they could see me next week, what an appalling service, havnt seen the dentist for well over a year and a half due to cancellations by them.

Negative experience: Appointments cancelled and expected to ring them to rearrange. Happened twice now and when trying to get through to rearrange nobody answers the phone. Overall I would not recommend this dentist. Very poor experience.UPDATE… here we are again. Actually in the waiting room. After nearly falling asleep we had to leave and forced to rearrange our check up. The WORST. I mean WORST place I have ever been! ABSOLUTELY Baffled how this place hasn’t gone bankrupt.

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of meeting Barzy Jaza at My Dentist yesterday. He was absolutely wonderful—no pain at all and very thorough in explaining everything he was doing. I highly recommend this dentist! He’s by far the best I’ve ever had. I am in now way a nervous patient BUT for anyone out there who is, this is the Dentist for you. Thank you Barzy.

Negative experience: Terrible service, referred by 111 for an emergency dentist due to a cracked tooth and unbearable toothache, paid my fee only to be told that they need to refer me to a "specialist" as they couldn't do it waited 4 weeks to be finally told the "specialist" has a 16-20 week wait list. Called these people back only to be told they aren't taking NHS patients but if I want to go private with the original place that "couldn't do it" they can extract it but it will be close to £200 after I'd already paid my initial fee. Absolute scam artists that only care about the money and not about the patient.

Negative experience: Horrendous, I am furious, its impossible to get through, you can't book online so forced to wait through the misery! I emailed over a week ago and no one came back. I called yesterday 40 mins at position 3, left a message no one got back, again I called today 44 mins on position 1 and no answer, I had to leave another message practically begging for a call back, I couldn't stay on any longer as taking my mum to an appointment. Called back again half an hour position 3 to 1 and line gone dead as closed at 5. Its honestly like a nightmare, an endless torment of the same song and voice recording thanking me for my patience when in all honesty it's making me ill!!! This is not a cue, they answer when they want to and probably as everyone is this upset about the wait times they don't want to answer. I don't want to be with this practice, I don't want to go through this again, it's not changed since last year where I just gave up waiting on this endless phone line. All I wanted is a teeth check and clean and polish as I get married next month, the other dentist local wont accept new patience so im hinestly stuck in dental hell. Honestly horrid, I didn't want to feel this frustrated today and it really has its given me headache. I'm done!!!!!!!!!!

Negative experience: Awful service all round. I was measured for a crown and told by the dentist they would fit it within 2-4 weeks. Five minutes later the receptionist said it would be a two month wait. On the day of the appointment they rang me to say it was cancelled and the next available appointment was another two months away. Avoid this service at all costs. They’ve taken on more patients than they can handle.

Negative experience: It's Saturday morning, I've dialled the phone at 9am, I'm second in the queue, great I'll finally be able to book an appointment. How wrong was I, 45 minutes later and I've abandoned the call. This practice is severely understaffed, it's not managed properly and all you'll ever see are replies saying oh we're really sorry. Can't even organise receptionist cover to ensure phone lines get answered, they know how many customers they have, they know how many people are trying to get through at any given time, yet they still can't manage to staff a reception to be able to even get an appointment. Avoid like the plague, I've just registered with another dentist, all done online and appointment booked for this afternoon, 2 minutes that process was to book in compared to 45 minutes of waiting for someone to answer the phone Edit - as predicted a nonsense response from them, they clearly can't read and comprehend what someone is telling them, number 2 in the queue for 45 minutes is not unprecedented demand, you couldn't even answer one call in 45 mins when I'm next in the queue at 9am

Negative experience: Appalling service, this dentist has gone well and truly to pot! I complained about waiting for treatment for months now, the Practice Manager phoned me on Friday 11/6 and promised to get back to me with a way forward on the Monday 14/6, I’m still waiting! I phoned up to try and speak to somebody to escalate this and after 20 mins of waiting (I moved up the call list by 1 place) I had no other choice but to leave a message, still not returned! My only other option is to go straight to head office, which is my next step! Needless to say, avoid this practice at all cost! ☹️

Negative experience: Had a dentist who was horrific. I’d ask for something he’d tell “no I don’t want that” and “I’m going to do this” ignored my requests, laughed at concerns I had and to top it off when I was getting my teeth scanned dentists and nurses came to stand outside the room to watch me and laugh as they talk about my teeth thinking I couldn’t hear them. Never felt so humiliated in my life.

Negative experience: Was on hold for an hr and a half this morning to try book in, I ended up ending this call and in that time I had mange to book in with a different dentist one that I had never been and seen today. Negative experience: NOT accepting new NHS patients (so don't bother waiting on hold for 30 mins to speak to them). NOT an orthodontist as advertised (unless you are rich and able to pay for private treatment). I am not talking about adults, I'm talking about children- apparently even they aren't eligible for NHS funding for braces, so again don't bother trying- it's a waste of time. Why are dentists making the patients pay for the 2 years they had off on full furlough pay during covid? Meanwhile Health Care Assistants (on minimum wage) continued to risk their lives daily in order to nurse the dying elderly population. Dentists, you should be ashamed. All of a sudden you only accept private patients. We all pay our National Insurance- where is it going? When CHILDREN have holes in their teeth and can't get a dentist for miles around? I haven't been able to get a dentist appointment for years, but I'm an adult and can look after my own teeth (to a certain degree). But KIDS who have nothing are being told they can't even get their teeth fixed without a huge bill. Disgusting.

Our Halifax practice has been able to accept a limited number of new NHS patients, however, we can only offer new NHS patient appointments when our NHS capacity allows and regrettably, due to such a high demand in the area for NHS dentistry, we are not able to accommodate every new NHS patient into the practice who contacts us seeking care. We do offer NHS orthodontic care under referral and treatment can be provided subject to the patient meeting the NHS defined criteria for braces. Our dentists also offer a range of private orthodontic care for adults, or children who do not qualify for NHS funded care. I am sorry to hear that we have not been able to offer you NHS care at this time. Please keep in touch with us in the future as our NHS capacity does get regularly reviewed.

Negative experience: I had a horrendous experience with the dental nurse Nicky Carter. She was despicable, extremely rude, blatantly unprofessional, and unnecessarily rough during my appointment. She called my name rudely from the waiting room and told me to "hurry the hell up." She showed zero empathy or concern for my pain and turned the entire visit into a nightmare. Nicky Carter is solely ruining the reputation of this practice. I strongly advise others to avoid this practice until they address her disgraceful behavior. Her conduct severely damages the image of the practice.

Negative experience: Impossible to get an appointment when you call. When you need work doing they don't do unless you book another appointment even if you tell them you know what you need doing. Never get an appointment with the same dentist. I don't feel the work I've had done is value for money.

Negative experience: Fiaza Bashir: Worst dentist I ever been to. I was in pain and was laying in chair and told machines stopped working so come back next week. Also was told I will need a root canal but u have to go to another dentist as they can’t do it I mean why r u dentist then. Negative experience: Started off as number 7 in the queue on the phone. Two hours later I became number 1 in the queue. Two hours and 24 minutes later I was still waiting as number 1 in the queue. I waited four hrs and 24 minutes in total and then to be told the practice is now closed. Very poor customer service.

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible service My Granddaughter is registered here and she is been treated for a bad tooth. They've filled it but it needs to come out. She's had abscesses constantly and despite pleading for appointments they've no interest . They tell us she's on a waiting list for extraction ...2 years this has been going on . The child is in pain and they're not interested . Absolutely shocking treatment they should be struck off

Negative experience: You are literally in the building for 10 seconds before they are shoving a card payment machine in your face asking for money…. Absolutely appalling. All they want is money/private patients. Also I am a NHS patient who currently receives the higher rate of universal credit due to my health conditions and I am not required to pay for a check up … but apparently at my dentist Halifax you have to pay.

Hi Dale, Thank you for your review. I am sorry you are unhappy with your experience when visiting our practice. The prepayment policy was introduced as it was becoming very evident across the business, that patients who were booking and then cancelling appointments with no notice, or just not turning up for their appointments, were having a negative effect on the practices, both in terms of the unfilled time that goes to waste and the financial impact these missed appointments have on our business. Although the majority of patients have immaculate records of attending, there still is an increasing number who are affecting the practice by non-attendance. As a dental company we are able to take payments for NHS and private treatments up-front and the NHS does reference this on their website page https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/dentists/dental-costs/understanding-nhs-dental-charges. As well as the benefits to the practice, we also hope that by financially committing to an appointment, it will also encourage patients to attend their appointments, which will ultimately have a positive impact to their dental health.
The reception team are unable to advise patients if they are eligible for exemption, if you feel that you fit the criteria of exemption you can contact your Universal credit case worker or visit the website to confirm. If it comes to light that you are eligible for exemption you will need to advise the reception team during your next visit.

Negative experience: Worst dentist to ever exist, went in for a filling and polish, they were running late and completely rushed me my teeth were not polished at all and still had all the stains left on my teeth I couldn’t believe the fact they did absolutely nothing I tried getting in contact sent so many emails they explained they were late but that has nothing to do with me or doing my treatment so awefully, it has been a month and my filling had already fallen out, utter waste of money the service is appalling and they don’t listen or sort out any problems you may have, after paying privately I would have expected a decent treatment but I can not even fathom words to use it’s left me very disappointed the dentist Faiza bashir needs to do better.

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank Shirley enough What a top receptionist. On her own and never stopped. Then when she saw my son and I. Asked politely for us to just wait. When she got the queue down. Found the time to help us. Top lady, fantastic receptionist. Explained everything and was very knowledgable. I’d totally recommend. If the dentists are as great as Shirley? Wow!

Negative experience: Absolute disaster of a dentist surgery. We are now getting the impression dentists do a short period here then move on, there's no consistency, repeated cancelled appointments, disorganised, nobody seems to have a clue what they are doing. 9am appointment for my daughter this morning, dentist strolls in at 9.25 to be told you've got people waiting! Regularly running late. Frankly I can't wait to get my daughter through this current appointment and away somewhere else. Register here if you specify cancelled appointments, poor service, wrong telephone info, late running and told the wrong information. It'll be right up your street.

Negative experience: I have attended this practice for many years and have been very happy with the treatment I have received . On my last visit January this year , I was informed by my dentist (who I've always had a good working relationship with ) he was going private and would inform me when at a later date . When I asked him about treatment on a certain tooth which had a sharp edge , and was somewhat worrying he said it would need re drilling and other work , which would take time . and wouldn't do it .Obviously wanted to do the work when he was private and not on NHS , no thank you Will I return ... questionable

Negative experience: I have had to leave this dentist and go private elsewhere (no way are they getting my money). If you want to ring for an appt or to discuss treatment, you simply will not get through, even if you hold on for over 1hr40. When you do, by some miracle, get through, to tell them you need to cancel an appt because you have COVID, you’ll have a strike against your record for leaving it 48 hours before (ok, so… next time I’ll come in with COVID and infect the dentist - great policy). Secondly, they’re constantly pushing cosmetic dentistry on anyone they can; newsflash, this is the UK not America. Thirdly, my mum is still a patient here (I’m slowly coaxing her to leave) and she was rung up yesterday and told that she can no longer be an NHS patient (despite being with them for 30 years) and must now either go private or leave. I’ve told her to leave and see the dentist I’ve swapped to privately. This dentist is a joke and the receptionists are disgraceful, with some of the rudest service I’ve ever received both face-to-face, and over the phone. This place should be shut down.

Negative experience: I can not believe it. My dentist cancelled my appointment before Christmas not me and just found out that I'm off the nhs plan as I never phoned back. No one informed me either. Surly they can't do that! Now the receptionist can't boom me appointment until the dentists decides to phone me back. If I have to pay private I'll do it else where, where I can get a better service for the high price I'll be paying. Thanks alot.

Negative experience: Currently over one hour on hold, 1st in the call queue the whole time. All because they have sent a letter cancelling my appointment ‘due to unforeseen circumstances’. Funnily enough, 3 times in a row they have cancelled for the exact same reason, and I’ve probably spent 3 hours total in call queues. They probably do this in the hope people don’t re-book so they can get you off the books and get more private appointments. Whenever I have been in to my appointments, there are 3/4 members of staff at reception, so there is absolutely no reason why it should take over an hour to get through. I’ve tried leaving messages in the past as they recommend you to do, but no one ever calls back so you have to spend another hour in a call queue. Absolutely shocking service. If you live close enough, I’d say drive down and re-book in the practice it’s self to avoid hours on the phone, just to speak to a rude member of staff who won’t apologise or even give a reason for the cancellation. Now on an hour and 10 minutes of my life that I won’t get back.

Negative experience: Terrible. Removed from practice with no notice. They only want you if you can pay!. Was a regular twice yearly min attendee of my previous dentist Brearley & Shepards on Clare rd, was shoved off here 2019 along with other NHS patients. Had emergency filling in early summer 2020 & was told only emergency appointments being made. They'd be Intouch when appointments go back to normal. Meanwhile I Had to shield for two years as extremely vulnerable during COVID. Never heard a thing back from this dental practice. Now I find I've been removed from the practice, because I've not been for a couple of years. Despite them saying they'd be InTouch with me! Disgraceful behaviour on their part. It's not even like they've no room for patients, because I was informed by reception that if I go private I could make an appointment ASAP. What a joke! I'd give zero stars if Google would let me.

I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy about being removed as an NHS patient at the practice.
NHS dentistry contracts changed in England in 2006, any patient ‘registration’ to a specific dental practice was removed. Dentistry now works differently to General Practice, where patients are registered to a specific GP surgery, in dentistry patients are free to move between dental practices to obtain treatment, so long as the practice they wish to attend has NHS capacity. As a dental practice our NHS contractual obligation is only therefore to a patient during an open course of treatment. When a patient has treatment such as Crowns, Bridges and dentures, the treatment is covered under guarantee for a period of 1 year. Outside of these a dental practice does not have any obligation to continue to offer NHS care to a person.

We have always tried to offer continuity of care, and therefore decided to create an ‘active list’, on which we keep patients for 2-year period after their last attendance for a check-up or treatment (this does not include emergency only appointments). At your last check-up, the dentist will have advised when you should next attend, this is usually either 6 or 12 months, it is then the responsibility of the patient to make sure they book this next check-up. Failure to do so, will result in removal from the practice books, to create space for the growing waiting list of patients trying to access NHS dentistry. We understand that the Pandemic caused issues with patients dental care and therefore decided it would only be fair to extend the lapsed period by 6 months so patients had the chance to schedule an appointment that they may have missed out on during the lock down.

The Pandemic caused interruptions to the whole of the NHS and the dental practices closed March 2020 until June 2020. They then opened for emergency cases only, until January 2021 where they became fully operational and the practice teams worked hard to try to provide the care required to all patients.

Under the NHS contract, as patients do not hold any registration with a specific dental practice, the practice has no obligation to tell a patient when they can no longer offer them treatment. We also have no obligation to recall patients for appointments.

I would like to reassure you that at {my}dentist we value our NHS patients as much as our private patients.

I do understand that it will be disappointing for you to hear that we cannot accommodate you as an NHS patient if it has been more than 2 years since your last attendance. We also understand that NHS capacity is a challenge in general across dental practices in the UK, hence why we have introduced our own {my}options pay as you go affordable private price list. This allows access to dentistry for people struggling to access NHS care at this time. The practice will be happy to discuss this with you if it’s of interest.

Positive experience: Best reception staff but can't say the same about dentist. Had treatment with Misbah Khan she didn't like me as I move a bit while having treatment... so basically we have to be dead as soon the dentist touches as... Its normal to be nervous but dentist was scarring me more than I was actually.... This is when there are less nhs dentist available and more patients waiting to be seen

Negative experience: I will keep this short, as there are more than enough uncomplimentary comments to look at already. Waseem Butt is abrupt and a liar. I complained about being charged in advance of what turned out to be a rudimentary check up lasting less than five minutes. He informed the patient support team, that he had taken x rays and had performed a full dental check up. When asking the support team of his evidence for the x rays, I was informed that they hadn’t asked for it? So, I’m unlikely to place reliance on the ability of the support team to conduct a professional inquiry! I am taking this matter to The Ombudsman.

Negative experience: Very disappointed. They informed me I had an infection, then offered me no help with it. They said to "use mouthwash". They had no care for the pain I was in or that they were making it worse. The pain has only increased since being seen. Definitely not worth £89.

Positive experience: After months of waiting and many visits I have finally got my new bottom denture. There have been many holdups, complaints on the way. I can finally say this denture now fits and I am now hoping I can eat properly again. My thanks are not to the practice, but to Mr Muddasir Hassan for his patience and persistence to eventually get things right for me. I know at times I must have been frustrated and ready for giving up. Many thanks to Muddasir and the dental assistants.

Fantastic experience: I started my treatment back in June and had several missing teeth and 4 front bottom teeth that were loose and also needed removing. Dr Muhammed Khan was my dentist and he reassured me that although it looked quite bleak the prospect of losing my front teeth he would get me looking normal again. Just hearing this gave me great hope that I could look normal again. Although it has been the best part of 6 months from start to finish it has been a really fantastic result and every step of the way I have been given encouragement and confidence. A big thank you to Muhammed and Karmem for all their care and consideration and for helping me through the whole journey.

Fantastic experience: I honestly couldn't recommend MyDentist more. Specifically 'Muddasir Hassan' who treated my teeth! I went in with horrendous front 4 teeth, I hated them, for years i was constantly covering my mouth when speaking to people or laughing, I wasn't even sure they could be fixed, but with alot of work and minimal pain my front teeth are now absolutely perfect! I couldn't be happier with the results, Muddasir did an amazing job and was so comforting throughout the whole process! All the staff I've dealt with there were so lovely, receptionists, dental nurses were all so welcoming and friendly. Couldn't recommend this place enough. I'll never go anywhere else for my dental needs! -Terri Brien.
