Fantastic experience: My dentist is called Flavia. All my life, 73 years I’ve been terrified of dentists. Not now! Flavia is an outstanding dentist and a great lady. Her nurse is also outstanding. Highly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: This review has been long due. I am so grateful to my amazing dentist, Ana and the staff for the treatment and care they've provided. Right from the promptness, empathy and politeness of the receptionists in accommodating my emergency appointments as I was in terrible pain up to the treatment and care provided by my dentist, Ana and her colleagues, it's been a wonderful experience with this practice. As a special mention, Dr. Ana has even done a courtesy call back to assess my condition during the course of my treatment and accommodated me for a prompt last minute check up. I highly recommend her with regards to kids dental check ups as well as she's been brilliant with my 2 year old and he absolutely loves his dental appointments, thanks to Dr. Ana.

Fantastic experience: Recently finished 18 months of clear correct with Ruairi, and I couldn’t be happier with my results! Ruairi always made me feel at ease, and was so informative and understanding throughout the treatment plan. Amazing experience and would highly recommend!

Positive experience: Visited today (Tuesday 30th September) for my first appointment. The dentist was excellent and very professional. However, the receptionist (dark hair, glasses) was extremely abrupt when booking me back in for treatment. Her attitude was unnecessary and unwelcoming — she needs to learn how to speak to people

Negative experience: Used to like this dentist but my recent experience really put me off. I was trying to get through on the phones and got cut off (no1 bothered to call me back), left numerous voicemails too or just waited in the queue and also got cut off. I was charged for an appointment that didn’t go through so alongside the phone issue there seems to be a booking issue too, same thing happened to my sister who had to pay twice to be seen and then get a refund after. Drive to the practice which was bizarrely closed despite saying open on google, tried again and was told they’d look into my query, heard nothing so emailed to which I was finally refunded. Asked about feedback/complaints and was ignored. Not sure what’s happened to this dentist but the customer service is shocking so I have now left the practice. My issue really could’ve been resolved super easily but doesn’t seem like anyone’s bothered!

Negative experience: Good luck getting through to get an appointment as waiting ages and get cut off. Once you do get through told will be 6 weeks until you can get a follow up appointment even though I'm in pain! I bet if I was a private patient paying £1000's I would be top of the list!

Fantastic experience: Can't thank the staff enough for the treatment I received, first tooth extraction very nervous but the dentist (sorry can't remember his name) calmed me and got me through with no pain. Great after care advice, won't say I enjoyed it but was so pleased with the service. Thanks guys

Negative experience: Very upsetting experience with Gaurav Jamnadass. My son is scared of needles but had agreed to attend the dentist to get some fillings done. This man wasted our time going through the treatment options (we had already discussed them on 2 separate occasions with him and the colleague he initially told us would need to do the fillings), kept recommending we went to the dental hospital or get one of his colleagues to do the work instead. He kept misreading the xray (his assistant had to keep correcting him) then when I did try to book another appointment with him to get the work done, he decided we would need 2 appointments on separate days to do the work. We had already decided with his colleague that the work could be done during one appointment due to the stress the visits would cause my son. I was waiting for him to finish speaking so I could explain this, when he told me to ‘calm down’. An obvious ploy to get me angry so he would not have to do the work himself. I will not be going to this dentist again.

Fantastic experience: I've had check ups and work done by Ruairi at Killingworth branch a number of times. I would highly recommend Ruairi for nervous patients of any age. He is extremely patient and understanding. I've had a life long phobia of the dentist, but Ruairi and the staff make the experience much easier.

Negative experience: Whilst in my appointment this morning a member of staff knocked on the door, entered and asked if it was an appropriate time to speak to my dentist about another patient. Why on earth would she think it was an appropriate time? What’s happened to patient confidentiality? She shouldn’t have had to ask if it was appropriate (totally inappropriate) and perhaps some training is needed

Positive experience: I am a pensioner and NHS patient I was happy with the treatment but was charged private payment which was quite a lot.

Fantastic experience: We have been going to my dentist in killingworth for years and really like our normal dentist but this week my children were with Victoria (Therapist and hygienist) for an x ray and teeth coating for one child and a filing for the other. Victoria and the dental nurse were brilliant. My first child went in the chair and they were great at explaining each stage in a child friendly way. My second child is neurodivergent and was finding waiting overwhelming with all the sounds,lights etc. she was tearing up before she got in the chair and I can't sing the praises of Victoria and the dental nurse more. They spoke calmly, showed the tools, let her touch things before they went in her mouth, showed her how the dryer wand worked and explained to her how she could raise her hand if she needed a break. Giving her control of the whole experience. I would say their treatment was because her neurodiversity BUT they were absolutely lovely with my older child too AND Victoria saw me today for a filling and was so calming/ great with me too. So I actually think this is just naturally Victoria and she is just fantastic at her job! Thanks you so much to you Victoria.

Fantastic experience: Pleased I found this well organised practice, I'm not registered and it's very hard to find a dentist and get appointments when you need one. I had a decayed tooth partially removed at another dentist that was painful for over 3 weeks, they couldn't get the whole tooth out and referred me to NHS oral surgery 6 month waiting list, risking infection so I felt I had to go private. At mydentist , reception was welcoming, I was quickly given appointment I requested overall checkup and had the tooth completely removed soon after, no pain this time. Very professional, friendly, put you at ease, I highly recommend them.

Negative experience: Very poor service, rushed through and condescended to. Seemed to be keen to make quick money and a simple procedure like mine wasn't making them rich. Teeth came out more chipped and jagged than the way they came in. Almost swore off the dentist after my last experience with them, but ultimately had to get the same treatment repeated elsewhere only a few months later which was far more professional and much less painful. Won't be returning to this practice.

Negative experience: Reflects the state of the UK at present. I’ve been removed from their books for not booking an appointment within 1.5 years and now I’m forced to go private because there are no other available NHS dentists I can find. I’ve been registered with this surgery for 46 years since it was originally amalgamated from Forest Hall. What exactly am I paying my taxes for? Grossly offended.

Fantastic experience: I went to see Ruairi and Moyà last year at Mydentist as I was so unhappy with my smile, Ruairi was so knowledgable and reassuring that I agreed to a plan with Clear Correct. Ruairi regularly checked in with me and was always available to talk or message with if I had any concerns. I thoroughly reccommend Ruairi for any future cosmetic dental work, he is the best! And he has the most amazing team working alongside him too!

Fantastic experience: I've been with this dentist since I moved up here 8 years ago. I can honestly say they are the best dentist I've been to. The premises are modern and spotlessly clean. The staff are welcoming and professional. The dentist herself and her assistant make you feel comfortable safe and confident your getting a first class treatment. Which I have always received. Fantastic experience: I have avoided the dentist for years! Today was my first appointment at Mydentist in Killingworth and from the moment i arrived i felt at ease. Reception was friendly, quick and straightforward. I was taken to see Ruairi (Dentist) by Moya (Dental Nurse - who was lovely). Ruairi was absolutely brilliant, he put me at easy, made me feel comfortable and also gave me confidence about my teeth. He gave my teeth a good polish and my teeth have never felt better - I am so happy with the service. Thank you Ruairi for listening to me and helping me with my fear of dentists xx

Fantastic experience: I have been registered with Killingworth dentist for years. I have had some good dentists there, who have all been professional and respectful. However my dentist for the past 18 months has been Ruairi, who is absolutely fabulous. At the start of my treatment with Ruairi, I was 60 years old. I have always been anxious, but he and the dental nurse Maya both have a good approach (friendly and professional), which helped me to relax for treatment. I have always been embarrassed by my teeth as I have a large overbite and the teeth were badly positioned. When I explained to Ruairi how embarrassed I was by my teeth he offered me ‘clear correct’ to improve the overall look and health of my teeth. No other dentist offered this treatment previously: I can only assume it was because of my age. Clearly Ruairi treats all patients equally regardless of age etc. Within a year my treatment is complete. I am extremely happy with my result and now feel much more confident. Can’t thank Ruairi and Maya the dental nurse enough!

Negative experience: So I've been taken off there system after 2 years and the worst appointment I've ever had at a dentist. So this lady came into the room, ignored my infected gums and tried too take a wisdom tooth out while I'm sat shouting I can still feel in my gums. In the end my whole body tightened up and I throw up outside off the experience and could barely make it home feeling like I was going too pass out. Look somewhere else or always take a second person too prevent my horrific experience. Also they only snapped my wisdom tooth they had tried too take out so keep in mind they aren't all good dentists.

Fantastic experience: I went to see dentist due to toothache. Told I had absess & maybe tooth could be saved via root canal. The tooth was too fractured as we got into the treatment but Daniel was transparent & gave me updates & advice as we went. He tried his utmost to save my beloved molar but the outcome was to extract it. However I felt happy that we explored all options & im a nervous patient but Daniel put me at ease & made the whole experience pain free. Thank You Daniel you were amazing.

Like many people, I suffered from a bad experience years ago and this filled me with dread ever going back to another practice. However, I did and I chose this one and I have to praise Ruairi and Maya for their lovely calming nature to keep my nerves at bay. If you want to look after your gnashers, go visit this practice. I’m pleased I signed up to them.

Fantastic experience: My dentist is Sadie & Karen is Sadias assistant nurse. Sadie is the best dentist I’ve had, at no time have I ever felt pain and her work has always been to an exemplary standard, both Karen and Sadia make me feel very welcome and take time to make me relaxed and comfortable. I broke four teeth on a piece of popcorn. Sadia rebuilt all four teeth so that they now look like they were never broken. Thank you Sadia and Karen.

Fantastic experience: Daniel and Ellie (also Leslie in the past few months) have been absolutely brilliant in the treatment they have carried out, really high quality of patient care. Free a dreadful (and super painful) experience a long time ago I was left with an absolute dread of dentists. The care, patience and understanding shown to me has been fabulous and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Daniel and the practice to friends and family.

Fantastic experience: I belive this practice changed management recently and it shows. They do great work but more importantly there seems to be a genuine culture of caring for patients wellbeing. Last time I was there I saw a dentist come into the waiting area, sit with a patient and speak with them in a engaging and caring manner, taking just a minute to reassure and connect. A dentist that's a pleasure to visit is rare, everyone is friendly and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Dentist managed to remove my wisdom tooth within 15 minutes even though it was very complicated procedure as it was resting on a nerve. Painless and simple and I'm so happy he's been able to do this today. 5 stars isn't enough! Both very friendly as well and put your mind at ease throughout the surgery. Thank you again.

Fantastic experience: A visit to the Dentist has always made me nervous and anxious. The first time I attended an appointment with Gaurav, I was immediately blown away by his genuinely friendly, upbeat, and caring personality: Not to mention his professionalism. In all honesty I began to feel slightly more confident attending the Dentist knowing I was to going to be seen by Gaurav. Recently following an appointment, I was advised to consider having a tooth pulled. As you can imagine my anxiety levels hit a high. Gaurav took time to discuss this with me put me at ease and provided a temporary fix so I could go away and consider the option. Unable to sleep and constantly thinking about the tooth that would need to come out at some time. I arranged to speak with Gaurav about having the tooth pulled. Gaurav took the time to sit me down explain everything and reassure me about the process based on his knowledge of my fear of the Dentist. All that said I have had the tooth pulled today. Gaurav once again put me at ease talked me through the process helping me relax when he could see I was getting nervous. I have to say, the extraction took minutes and was over before I knew it. I cannot thank and/or praise Gaurav enough, he has really helped me begin to manage my fear of the Dentist and in my eyes he is an absolute star. I cannot finish without also thanking Klaudia who also played her part. Thank You So Much.

Fantastic experience: I came to this clinic for a gum problem, Daniel and Lesley's care has been outstanding. They have taken all the time to explore the problem thoroughly, I have received excellent treatment and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Truly brilliant.

Negative experience: Worst experience of dentist. Mainly due to the reception team. Had dry socket and refused appointment. Would not recommend. Reception staff are quite rude and unprofessional. Would avoid.

Fantastic experience: Hi I had a very good experience at my dentist such pleasant polite staff my dentist was Ruari what a lovely man he was I am so happy with my lovely white teeth I can smile without feeling self-conscious about them now I will be honest I was nervous about visiting a dentist and had not seen one in a few years but he made me feel right at home he explained everything that was going to be done.

Negative experience: So I have been using this dentist for a while, then they moved to larger premises, I admit I missed a couple of appointments and I was on my way to the last one and there was a traffic jam, I telephoned them to say I’m going to be delayed, I said I don’t mind paying for the delay, they struck me off their books half way through my treatment, the treatment that I’m sure came about when the hygienist was grinding in my gums. Never had any problems prior to that treatment. It’s a numbers game now, run like a money making machine, it’s a shame because a few of the freelance dentist are really good. Terrible how they treat people!

Fantastic experience: I'd like to say a massive thank you to Dr Oliver dickson I need a bridge and hygiene clean and normally over the years have been terrified of the dentist he was the most professional I've been to he is very calming and outstanding result his assistant lovely aswell I'd highly recommend him thankyou

Fantastic experience: I can not thank both Ruairi and Tanisha for the welcoming friendly professional treatment I recently received at this practice. Ruairi went above and beyond to provide me a treatment plan to enable me to no longer wear dentures. He has given me the confidence to smile again.I would recommend this practice to anyone and highly recommend this dentist and nurse.
