Fantastic experience: I used to be at My Dentist at Gull Coppice, Whiteley. Loved it there. But unfortunately had to leave because they could not treat me. My dental clinician went full time sick and could not get a replacement. Tried three local dental practices and was just not happy. So I contacted My Dentist, Fareham, and now I feel if I have come home. The reception staff were very polite, and helpful. I was put under dental clinician Sotirios Bantis and a lovely clinician. Gave him a problem to retrieve my dental x-rays from a practice I went to a week previously. That was a nice dentist to but could not afford their price range. I could not have anymore x-rays because of radiation levels can be harmful. I had to have a big back tooth filling. I am not a good patient but Sotirios made me feel at ease. Wonderful, gentle technician. Yes definitely feel I have come back to My Dentist for which I have had many happy years. Long may it continue. .

Positive experience: A friendly caring practice The hygienist is extremely good unfortunately a lot more expensive than anywhere else I can find £100 for hygienist 30minutes? Most places charging between £60-£80 But for this would have been a resounding 5 stars

Unfortunately, the overall cost of delivering dental care has continued to rise significantly. Like many other businesses, we have faced increasing expenses in several key areas. These include but are not limited to:
• A substantial rise in Employer’s National Insurance contributions and salary costs
• Ongoing inflation in the cost of materials, laboratory fees, and dental supplies
• Higher energy bills, rent, and building maintenance costs
• The growing financial impact of recruitment and retention challenges across the UK dental sector
While we understand that any price increase can feel unwelcome, our aim is to ensure that our pricing accurately reflects the real costs of providing safe, high-quality dental care. It is also important that we continue to fairly compensate our clinicians in a competitive and difficult recruitment market, so we can attract and retain our clinicians, and they can deliver the standard of care our patients expect and deserve.

Negative experience: Canceled twice at short notice on the day of the appointment. No apology and claim to be unable to refund my deposit over the phone. Do not recomend.

The receptionist I dealt with was not so friendly - stood waiting to be acknowledged for a couple of minutes after I arrived, which I always think is unnecessary. Say ‘I’ll be with you in a minute’ at the very least! No eye contact or smile during our brief interaction when she booked me in.

I went into my appointment feeling apprehensive but left smiling. Positive experience: The Hygienist was very pleasant and seemed to be very thorough. However, the appointment was supposed to be 30 mins and I was at the desk paying within 20 mins. £100 for 20 mins is very expensive.
We appreciate your input about the pleasant hygienist and thorough service. We are sorry for any misunderstanding in relation to your appointment time and cost, the payment is for the specific treatment and not the time, 30 minutes is given for the appointment to ensure that there is in fact enough time to perform the treatment and ensure that you are consulted regarding any follow up information. In some cases the treatment can last 30 minutes but this is all dependant upon the level of cleaning required.

Fantastic experience: Had not been to dentist in 18 years, hate needles also abroad for 14 years, anyway explained my fear of needles, relevant issue as I had 3 consecutive teeth to be extracted, they were kind in the extreme, I could not wish to have been treated more gently with extra numbing gel before mutiple injections and each amount of anasthetic being warmed beforehand, did'nt feel a thing after that and the teeth were removed absolutely clean as if they were never there, removed temporary gauze after 20 mins and no further blood experienced.

Negative experience: I am writing to raise a serious and formal complaint regarding the appalling treatment I received at mydentist, West Street, Fareham, which has left me in constant pain for over two months and exposed me to severe health risks due to ongoing negligence, misdiagnosis, and unacceptable delays. On 20 February 2025, I was seen by Dr. Arabella Binder after experiencing intense pain in the lower right side of my jaw. Despite clear signs of infection, she dismissed the possibility of wisdom tooth issues and claimed I had none—something later contradicted. Instead, she prescribed a £1,400 treatment plan (two fillings, an extraction, and a crown) and most alarmingly, did not prescribe antibiotics, even though infection was clearly visible on the X-rays. In addition, Dr. Binder advised me to see a private dentist in Portsmouth to attempt saving a severely infected tooth, which she believed had only a 60% chance of success. This was suggested despite the hygienist recommending a more appropriate and less invasive route. The contradiction between professionals in the same room was not only unprofessional but confusing and deeply concerning. On 14 March, I returned for treatment and was told—only at that moment—that due to my Crohn’s disease and Humira therapy, the extraction could not be done there. This should have been evaluated well before the appointment. Only the fillings were completed, and a referral to the hospital was promised, with the assurance that I would be contacted within two weeks. At that point, increasingly concerned, I asked for a second X-ray. The result clearly showed a horizontally impacted wisdom tooth, pressing against the surrounding teeth—a fact that had been completely missed during the original assessment on 20 February. This alone proves how poor and superficial the initial diagnosis was, and how this oversight has led to unnecessary suffering and delay. No one contacted me. On 10 April, I called the practice myself to chase the referral, only to be told that Dr. Satiros Bantis would now issue a new referral due to previous mishandling. This alone shows serious procedural failure. Today, 29 April, after still hearing nothing, I was forced to go in person to the practice to find out what was happening. I was then informed that the referral made on 10 April was actually sent to Gosport, and that I would be contacted later that day for further instructions. And indeed, about half an hour later, I received a call. But instead of giving me an appointment or clarity, I was told to call Portsmouth hospital myself and ask for an appointment. Let me be very clear: this is ridiculous. A patient in pain, who has already paid for a private emergency appointment, receives a misdiagnosis, is told to return weeks later, is then told they need a hospital referral, waits months, then has to go in person to the dental practice to investigate, and is finally told to contact the hospital directly? You are completely out of your minds. This is not patient care—this is abandonment and gross negligence. In the meantime, I have been forced to take two full rounds of antibiotics, and I am currently relying on paracetamol and ibuprofen to cope with the pain. This situation has severely affected not only my physical wellbeing, but also my mental health, quality of life, and trust in your services. To make things even more absurd, when attempting to submit this complaint via your website, the Fareham West Street branch doesn’t even appear among the listed locations. This lack of transparency and accessibility is just another example of how unprofessional and unaccountable this system has become. I demand: A written explanation for each failure in my case, An immediate resolution to my dental emergency, And a guarantee that no other patient will have to go through something like this again. If I do not receive a satisfactory reply within 7 days, I will escalate this complaint to the General Dental Council, NHS England, and legal representatives.
