Mawney road - Essex Family Dental Care

Negative experience: Expectations were not met, standards are below average, communication is poor, the response to my hardship were laughed at as I were treated with no regard at all and have reasons to submit a formal complaint to the management, which has left rather alot of room for improvement, particularly following my issues with the previous dentist, who refused to give me a witness statement after an abusive assault which appears to have caused me further repercussions since complaining about it. I cannot advise anyone to visit here, unless you wish to be offended, insulted, humiliated and discriminated against unfairly for being a honest human being.

Fantastic experience: I'm really happy to have registered with Essex Family Dental Care in Romford. The building itself is clean and modern and I highly recommend the dental and hygienist team. I've recently had a dental procedure which was not very pleasant, but was handled so well and I felt really cared for as a nervous patient. The only thing I'd point out to be aware of is that they close between 1pm and 2pm for lunch, so if your appointment is at 2pm, they won't let you inside the surgery to wait until 1:50pm so do bear that in mind. They do NHS and private which is great. Very happy and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Writing this review from Mr & Mrs Maskell After having fillings & tooth extraction today we feel that the service we received was absolutely 5 stars . As Mrs Maskell is very nervous of the dentist & usually opts for sedation but today went with numbing injections & can honestly say that my dentist totally put me at ease & was very aware of my anxieties however got the treatment done with great service .

Fantastic experience: Making an appointment is no hassle and the reception team are friendly on arrival. Both the dentist and the dental nurse were polite, friendly and professional with good communication. It would just be nice for the dentist to remember the mouth is joint to a head so when asking a patient to move their head this way or that or even just moving it without communication, makes it a very uncomfortable experience. Also the X-ray plate was positioned in my mouth and was digging in to the roof of my mouth. I knew it would be over quick but again there is no consideration for the comfort of the patient.

Positive experience: Apart from an encounter with a rude, disrespectful receptionist when I first started using this dental clinic, I would have always recommended them and given five stars. However todays' reception changed this for me. I arrived approximately 40 mins early for my 2pm appointment. This arrival happened during their whole team lunchbreak. Why whole team has to have lunch everyday together at the same time; I don't know. Surely it would be better to have 'rota rolling' breaks from 12.30 14.30? Anyhow I was told the doors would not be open until 1345. I sat on the steps to the above property and waited in the cold - why they could not allow me to sit inside in the warm is beyond me. People in 'caring' professions, in my opinion, these days, lack empathy or even basic compassion towards another human being. Then to add 'salt to the wound' the young staff member who subsequently unlocked the door with me waiting to go in; just let the door go in my face! And literally said 'at' me "wait upstairs". The hygienist atleast appears to have some humanity toward fellow human beings because when asked by a service user "is it alright for me to use the toilet?" answered yes despite it being clearly marked STAFF ONLY. Her action made me give four stars where I would have given three. My father taught me: that service a person gets depends on the personality of the person delivering the service - so true - is it post Rona that has them like this? If so why aren't we all like it

Negative experience: Receptionist is very rude, there is absolutely no where to park. The only place is two blocks down the road which has only got 4 spots with a ring app. My son has autism and it’s hard enough trying to get him to the dentist never mind the struggle with parking and arguing with the receptionist. She made me refill in all the forms saying I hadn’t done it. Therefore I had four forms for both of us to do. When I showed her there is four she deleted them on her computer and didn’t apologise. Will definitely be looking into finding another dentist as It was an awful experience for my son.

Negative experience: Not very helpful just making more worst your situation I have bad experience their communication it’s rude I just ask them after 1 hour ago after they checked me to refer me to a dentist and they answer me you need to go to specialist we can’t when they can do this very well but really they don’t help I am not happy with this service I advice you don’t go to this dental they can make you more bad your situation

Negative experience: The dental team were understanding and offered advice, however they didn't really provide any treatment aside from a scan and saying to visit a dentist (just as perplexed as to why £27.40 was spent on getting told to see a dentist - at the dentist's). The receptionists were incredibly disrespectful, speaking in a rude tone and then laughing at me. Considering I was only talking to the one receptionist anyway, it proves my point that they are incredibly rude as they all laughed together. Even as I stepped aside, they mocked me. Other than that, it is a good dental practice.

Positive experience: Grateful thanks to the front of house team for dealing with the appointments! Great hygienist - Phoebe - leaps and bounds ahead of her contemporaries in terms of professionalism care and expertise in making this a pain/nerve free experience! Thanks too to great care from Yousaf with calm, clear advice on resolving dental issues. Overall great! However, the need to regularly update medical details on numerous forms. Your programming should permit part completion of details like name/dob/next of kin etc… really tiresome! Need to move up a level in this area for the full 5 stars! Well done team!

Positive experience: Been with this dentist over 25 years and never had any problems, seen dentists come and go but always welcoming. On a another note the idea of filling out a form every six months updating your records even if your records do not need updating you still have to do it via a link sent to you is a waste of people's time, ask us if our records need updating then if so send us the link job done. Everytime I go to the dentist which is probably every six months I have to do this it's annoying and unnecessary when I have nothing to update you on.

Positive experience: A nice practice but now the car park has been closed to everyone it’s not user friendly to those that have mobility issues The pre visit forms that are sent are too laboured in compiling. That said the attention I received was ok but weighing everything up the visit was hard work

Negative experience: Awful Experience, rang 111 for emergency as I have a cracked tooth and in pain, I was expecting them to take this out, advised go to my dentist only!! Paid £27.40 to stick a tiny bit of fluoride in and I’m still in pain! Surely whole point of emergency was to help you? Anyone contacting 111 avoid this dentist at all costs, I also had to ask what was my x ray results, lady wasn’t even clear! Not sure of the timing of my appointment but couldn’t be bothered trying to fob me off!! Horrible experience

Fantastic experience: I would like to say that when I heard my regular dentist was leaving the practice back in January of this year I was quite concerned but having seen Amrit Kasbia on 2 occasions now, my fears have totally been put to bed. I would in fact go as far to say he is even better than my previous dentist. I would highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: By far the best dentist. I called 111 due to my son having a sensitive tooth & in lots of pain. Got an emergency appointment and from the minute we arrived everyone was fantastic! The receptionist with blonde hair was such a lovely lady & very welcoming. All the staff were so attentive & made my son feel so relaxed. They gave us very good advice and reassurance why my son had pain.My son was so happy and even got a sticker too. Thankyou so much to all the team here. We will both be coming here as our dentist. Such a clean,stunning dentist was absolutely blown away

My son also had an appointment and I was a bit confused why the dentist didn't scale and polish his teeth (per the NHS descriptor) after saying he needed it and instead he should book a private appointment to have it done with the Hygienist!
