Negative experience: Touchy snow flake receptionist , issued me with a warning because I told her I wanted my tooth taken out, just pure greed , they made me wait a year in agony last time because they didn't have a dentist to remove a tooth , instead they wanted to fill it again after I repeatedly told them to remove it ,they would not remove my tooth too hey said because i gone home through radiation treatment to my brain . I eventually had it took out in hospital took less than 10 seconds to remove but the hospital queried why I had been referred to them , it wasn't a difficult or complicated pull. I would NOT Recommend this so called Dentist to anyone . Notice they only comment on reviews that don't criticise the practice .this is aimed a the Newark practice and is not a mistake ! . Kings mill pulled my tooth after I contacted 111 , and the emergency dentist below the multi story carpark due to the my dentist wanting to drag treatment out costing me a fortune, but that's what this practice is all about looking after their wallets as a priority and not patient care , they did not care that I had been waiting over a year to have the tooth pulled . This practice is all about money, money , money , the staff are all very friendly apart from one receptioninst who tried to make out she was being spoken to harshly , another excuse for turning NHS work away .

Negative experience: I dont usually leave bad reviews but I had an awful experience at this practice last year. The dentist was unreasonably rough and I was in a lot of pain with my jaw afterwards which I have never experienced before. She didnt stop to ask if I was OK even though I had tears running down my face and was struggling. I will never go back.

Negative experience: Arrived 15 minutes early for a 1.40 emergency appointment, waiting room was empty, so I though it would be nice and quick. I was wrong. No one went in or came out for 30 mins, I was finally called in at 2.20, 40 minutes late, having spent 55 mins in the waiting room. No comment from the reception staff. They know we have little choice and their service reflects that

Fantastic experience: This is the best dentist I have ever been to, my dentist is Thomas and it is because of him I give this rating. I have never liked going to the dentist at all, I’m am always quite nervous when I have to go but I must say since I have been seeing Thomas I am much better. I have actually had teeth pulled out before because they’ve needed filling, but now I go and between Thomas and Dawn his nurse they are an amazing team. Fantastic experience: Called in on speck after losing a filling, see later the same day and diagnosed with a cracked tooth the dentist advised that removal was best and did it straight away. He explained the procedure every step off the way and made very sure the area around the tooth was dead, he was very calm and took great care and I felt no pain. Good banter put me at complete ease. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: Don't bother for NHS services as they always prioritise private customers leaving you waiting for emergency treatments and they continually cancelling booked appointments, and when a discussion with the manager was requested to discuss the cancellations the call was never returned.
appointment cancellations. Due to a lack of NHS dentists, we have been prioritising appointments for NHS patients who require emergency care. Regrettably, as we have a number of unfilled NHS dentist vacancies at the practice, we have had to postpone routine treatments, such as examinations, at this time.
We are hopeful that our NHS capacity will re-expand, however, we are unsure when this may be. Please be assured that our clinicians are working incredibly hard to try and accommodate as many NHS patients as possible. Private appointments are offered outside of our NHS contracted hours and therefore do not have any impact on the NHS availability.

Fantastic experience: Excellent !! 10/10 5***** I received dental consultation and treatment from Dr Ogbe Adeghe in February 2025. This dental Doctor took his time to clearly explain all the possibilities of treatments available to me and he helped to do this with the use of photos and X-rays. His dental nurse assistant was outstanding in her role throughout and encouraged the Doctor to carry out my treatment at short notice. They make a great team and are both a credit to the My Dentist practice. The Doctor was fair with his explanation that the treatment I opted for was 50/50 and that I may experience pain once the anesthetic wore off. I did experience some pain that evening, but thankfully it was only temporary and had gone the following morning. I would also like to thank Louise, Amy and all the team on Reception who also did not rush through explaining everything to me very clearly, this was appreciated. Prices were fair. Recommend. Negative experience: I had one appointment due to having teeth that are cracking from a different condition of mine. It's been causing me pain for months and I finally thought I found a dentist to help with that. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I was told there was a payment plan but I was never offered one. The appointment and x Ray cost over £100. I need my wisdom teeth removed but they can't do it so I was going to be referred elsewhere and that would've cost me over £700 since I need something to help with my anxiety. So I'm still in heeps of pain that it interrupts my sleep. And I'm trying to find a new dentist again that will actually help me. Don't recommend this place, at all. Just awful

Negative experience: My partner went to this practice to have a filling done costing £142. When leaving he booked a second appointment to continue his treatment plan. However, when he got home to check the work done, he found a horrendous silver filling in the tooth. He had called in advance of the appointment to check that this was going to be a composite filling as he didn’t want a silver one done, so a complaint was made. He was told by the practice manager that the filling is composite but it’s so small and at the back of the tooth that you just can’t see it… The second appointment was then cancelled a month in advance. We thought that would be the end of a terrible experience. But no, of course the incompetence of this dentist has continued into harassment. Letters are now being sent to say that he owes money for missing an appointment. Yes, this is the one that was cancelled a month in advance in writing. We have written evidence from this practice to say these letters have been sent in error yet they continue to come. The practice has been asked to delete the information that they hold for him yet they are still sending letters. This dentist is completely incompetent. Avoid!

Positive experience: I visited for the first time this week. I was very happy all in all. I have a complicated vascular problem in my mouth and did warn them. The dentist was lovely, the receptionists polite and friendly. However I found the hygienist rather rough. My mouth bled a lot on returning home and unless they have more than one hygienist, I am not sure I will return.

Fantastic experience: I love this dentist. The reception team are really friendly and my dentist is great. He tells me what he's doing as he goes along which helps me keep calm. I've worked out that I squeeze my hands when I'm anxious but since coming here, I squeeze my hands more at the hair salon than I do at this dentist which says a lot.

Negative experience: I had a chipped tooth and was waiting for months for the filling, upon finally getting my tooth fixed filling failed within 6 months, again waited 2 months to be looked at, at this point I lost my tooth completely. Service was appalling, they offered a refund which I've still not received some months later. Horrific experience and a loss of tooth that potentially could have been avoided if treated quicker, still £200+ out of pocket.

Negative experience: Disappointed after viewing your updates on the website about accepting NHS patients but was told over the phone I had to register as a private patient
Our website does state 'accepting new patients', and I can confirm that we are accepting NHS patients at the practice. However, new patient appointments are offered subject to capacity and are limited in number. Regrettably we cannot offer an NHS space to everyone who contacts us each day requiring care. Please keep in touch with us over the coming months as we work hard to expand our new patient NHS capacity.

Negative experience: Post pandemic removal from NHS patient list, despite no attempt to contact me, so only option now is as a private patient. It was dentists that stopped seeing us through COVID and still had no availability for NHS when open again...yet another example of post COVID greed at the cost of an individual's health.

Unfortunately, the practice is currently not able to accommodate every new and previous patient who has contacted them requiring care. Negative experience: My son spent at least 4/5 years having orthodontic treatment here. This went on before covid and after . He has braces on top and bottom teeth. The orthodontist at this practise Santosh told him that his teeth were not getting straight due to his bad cleaning , plaque build up which was stopping the teeth from moving even though he kept getting them cleaned at the practice at her request and the hygienist said they were good considering he had braces. In the end April 2024 she said that they were not going to get any better and to consider getting them removed . To be honest I agreed as they didn’t seem to be moving. Every month we went back and there was no change . The bottom teeth appeared to be too cramped and no room to move. I thought that why doesn’t she take one out or file them down to allow movement ( which they did to my teeth years ago ) but this was never suggested and I’m not a dentist so didn’t think it my place to suggest this. The day we had them taken off I asked her if the top teeth were finished and she checked and said yes they were fine. We went to the hygienist the same day to clean them up and after we could see the top two main teeth still had a gap even though she said they were finished and the bottom teeth still crooked and overlapping. ( although we knew the bottom teeth would be ) We have now taken him to a private orthodontist in west bridgford. She agrees it was a shame they had not completed the “asthethics “ and maybe put it down to waiting lists etc. so we have paid several thousand pounds to have another brace put on and a filler in the gap on the top teeth. The teeth at the bottom can be filed down to make room ( can’t understand why santosh didn’t do this) and will take about 6 months to complete . Absolutely no reason why this could not have been completed at the “my dentist” practice. Very disappointed . Don’t be afraid to question your child’s treatment or get a second opinion.

Negative experience: First I went as I broke a tooth but they tried to sell me implants. Eventually agreed to fill tooth 2 weeks later. I had explained before that I had a sensitive gag reflex. I arrived for the filling he tries to force a bite guard on me for a front tooth. I'm panicking he's shouting at me even though I was trying to cope with it. I was a dental nurse and one of my jobs was so make patients calmer. Nothing no interaction from her. The whole atmosphere was awful. Eventually got the filling done. I'm in tears very upset. I have never met such an unempathetic surgery. I would not recommend. Just to add this is genuine and was in Newark before they put their usual comment on. No mistake.

Fantastic experience: This might probably be the best dental clinic located in Newark-On-Trent. The clinic offers a variety of dental treatments including dental implants, teeth straightening treatments, Denture Excellence (cosmetic dentures), teeth whitening, full smile makeovers, facial aesthetics and cosmetic dentistry. The experienced clinicians and treatment co-ordinator are more than happy to arrange a consultation to discuss your dental needs. They also offer finance packages on qualifying treatments. My tooth had been troubling me for months, and I was able to get an emergency appointment via phone call, and an extraction the same day. The staff were also very professional all the way.

Negative experience: We went here just to see the hygienist. It's not our dentist as ours is long standing close to our old home area. We were told it was £88 the first time as a" non-dentist patient" , but then would be £58, the usual fee. So we joined , but the second time my wife went today they again charged £88 (for a 15 minute not even the 20 mins advertised...for a scale and polish). On challenging it she was told because she was non-dentist registered...Having already paid a £30 deposit they had one over us. Will not use again. Ensure you get their pricing in writing and not verbal, plus get your 20 mins ! Very disappointed.

Positive experience: 3* for receptionists for quick appointment and answered all questions. The dentist did not address the reason I went and I left with the same problem I went with. The appt was quick compared with a private dentist and not as thorough. Although they do offer private patient care that is basically based on the changing structure. To me the dentist examination is crucial to my dental health. Here I felt it was lacking. Time with dentist approx 20mins. A private one is 60mins and includes scale and polish. So .. Mydentist charge for both services are more expensive than a private dentist and less thorough. After notifying them of my experience there was no,interest and so the same situation is likely to face anyone else.

Negative experience: I was bullied by Dr Thomas Kiwanuka about my appearance, at an emergency dental appointment in January 2023. I was emotionally fractured and cried for hours after I left the practice and am suffering from social withdrawal since. Thomas Kiwanuka, not only refused to apologise, but shamelessly invented a number of disgusting stories about me, in attempt to convict me in mental incapability, just to get away with his misconduct. I contacted GDC, who tried to investigate the incident, but the practice went far and beyond, to cover up all evidence, which left me further shattered by the experience. I feel it is necessary to video record every doctors appointment now. NHS staff cannot be trusted. In response to the Patient Support Team: There is no mistake and a complaint was submitted to the attention of he practice manager - Josh Appleyard. He, together with the Dentist Thomas Kiwanuka, went far and beyond to twist facts, in order to justify the deliberate cruel behavior of the dentist. I am still emotionally shattered to this day and never received the appropriate apology, even after the GDC got involved. A mocking apology was offered by Thomas Kiwanuka, denying that anything wrong was done, and accusing me in being mentally handicapped. I am sorry to say this, but this practice deserves this rating for refusing to take the appropriate actions, to discipline their staff, who harm patients.
