Fantastic experience: Our son visited this past Monday for a tooth extraction, and the experience was outstanding. Pearl, the assistant, was so welcoming and did a great job making sure he was comfortable and ready. Nicole is a fantastic dentist—she was gentle, quick, and highly professional throughout the entire procedure. It is rare to find a team that makes a tooth extraction such a smooth and positive experience for a child. We highly recommend asking for Nicole and Pearl!

Fantastic experience: Had a root canal yesterday with Nicole and her assistant Poppy, for what I thought was going to be a terrible process of being in the dentist for 2 and half hours, actually wasn’t bad at all. Positive experience: After leaving a review resulting from a bad experience with one of the vets, I was contacted promptly with a view to rectifying the problem. I was offered an appointment the following day and have been moved to a different dentist’s list. My second experience was much better and the second dentist (Nicole) was lovely. I didn’t catch the nurse’s name, but she was lovely too. I have reconsidered my decision to move back to my old practice and will be staying with Nicole.

Negative experience: I found the dentist (Shilpa) rather obnoxious and brutal. I had a filling in a back tooth and it is rough and jagged. I was also told to take medication I stated I am unable to take, despite telling the dentist it causes severe side effects. I moved to this dentist as it is closer than my previous dentist. I will be going back to my other dentist. The only positive is I was able to get an appointment quite quickly.

Negative experience: I made a appointment before Christmas for a check up, for 10.50am on the 5th of January, I was there at 10.30. Waiting talking to a young lady, about what time her appointment was she said 11am, she was called in first, so I am still waiting 11.25 am still no one have called me, so I asked the receptionist what's happening, taken longer, for the young lady, so I had a guts full now, why do bookings if you are not keeping to them

Negative experience: Dreadful treatment, no attention to their work and no communication or listening skills there at all. (Other than 1 receptionist that tried) Over a year to sort a root canal (appointments had to be rearranged but still took a year). Then got booked in for 2 appointments with another dentist, scan and treatment, they booked it and told me I was in the wrong and how I can fix it...

Positive experience: Quality of treatment is great unfortunately they cancel and change appointments last minute at almost every appointment my family have had. One appointment was cancelled with 10 minutes to the appointment and we were outside.

Fantastic experience: I started the whitening process last month in readiness for a few veneers on my front teeth. Something I have always been aware of was how uneven my teeth were. Bearing in mind I am 66 years old, it was a decision I didn’t take lightly due to the cost. I had my veneers fitted yesterday and was overcome with the results and wish I’d had it done years ago. I now have a smile that I’m not afraid to show now. My dentist Mr Joao Rodrigues and the dental nurse were brilliant through the whole process and kept me very informed at every step. I would recommend this dentist and the treatment to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service, was booked in the next day with Dr Shilpa who was excellent. The poor girl on the desk was on her own to answer phones and also deal with customers in the practice but she was lovely and didn’t let the stress get to her. Dr Shilpa and her dental nurse were lovely and very thorough, she took a thorough history and gave me a thorough examination and X-ray. She spoke me through the X-ray and provided a potential cause for my pain and thorough plan moving forward. Really efficient and excellent practice, I will 100% be back to see Dr Shilpa and her nurse if I need further assessment or work.

Fantastic experience: Just returned from an appointment with dentist Nicole and her assistant Pearl, for my son. He had to have 2 teeth extracted, in preparation for his braces. Nicole and pearl made luke feel very relaxed, explained every step of the procedure to him, and myself, to reassure us both. The extraction went very well, and with minimal pain. Pearl was calm and professional to Luke and he said she was friendly and kind. He's back again next week and has no worries about the treatment he will have with this team. Fantastic experience: I wanted to enhance my smile without having to go through Invisalign or braces. From my first consultation dr Rodrigues was fantastic and went through various options to get what I wanted. I went through a 4 week teeth whitening which made a huge difference in its self and then agreed to have 4 composite veneers on my 4 top front teeth. I had the two front teeth done yesterday and I cannot believe the difference it has made already. I’m so excited to get the others complete at the end of the month. Taylor, the TCO has also been amazing, checking in on my progress and arranging my appointments. The process as a whole has been seamless, the staff are efficient and I’ve had a really positive experience. I wouldn’t go anywhere else now, even for a check up! Thanks team!

Positive experience: It's ok if you can get an appointment which doesn't keep getting postponed. Not all dentists are very good though, some are really nice and one of two are lousy. It's a bit of a lucky dip here. Getting an appointment is very, very difficult but not impossible

Fantastic experience: Had misfortune of loosing front tooth after biting into a plum.Went to see my dentist Dr Joao Rodrigues and Nurse Jola.Was advised that I needed an implant so we went ahead with that. The whole treatment was approximately a year long but that how long it takes.I felt from beginning to the end that I was in good capable hands and I definitely was.I hate going to the dentist ast the best of times but my mind was put at ease by these lovely professionals. Negative experience: Went for a straight forward descale and I honestly feel the woman rushed the work she was meant to do ,as I was left in pain for over 3 weeks from the work she had done also rang up over the weekend for am emergency appointment to only be stuck on hold for on hour and then the call say there closed and to ring the NHS number ,this is terrible service for the private side of things and if I could request a refund I'd do it straight away ,I'm now scared to go to another appointment and now in a worse situation from their work I will not be coming back even if I'm forced to by the NHS system I'll request another dentist

Fantastic experience: Bridgend practice has been my favourite Dentist visit to date. I found out about the practice via their social media presence on Instagram. After reaching out regarding a problem I was experiencing, I was quickly responded to by Abbi, who was very informative and booked me in very quickly to see a Dentist by the name of Ines. Negative experience: Absolutely shocking. Been with them for years myself, luckily for me i didnt need anything done except check-ups. They were extracting my husbands tooth there and the dentist who did it broke it and then said she cant remove the rest cause they havent got surgeon dentist available and send him back home with pain - shocking. Last straw was when dentist left my 7 year old son half way of his appointment cause his other patient turned up ehich i dont think he was expecting? It left my son distressed and he had audacity to get annoyed about my son getting nervous. Also they are veeeery overpriced. I have been qouted about 500£ to get my sons teeth sorted, went elsewhere and been quoted 140£!! and his new dentist is amazing. Never coming back here

Now we have all been taken off the books.. but oh wait... We can all pay £50 each to see a private dentist. Shambles of a practice that are trying to extort money out of people.

There is a shortage of dentists in the UK which is making attracting dentists to certain areas of the country more difficult, and we are experiencing challenges in recruiting to the area.

Fantastic experience: After years of not smiling and being petrified of sitting in a dentist’s chair, I walked through the door and from reception to waiting room to dentist chair I was encouraged, explained to in detail about every stage and extra care and concern was given because of my reluctance to go through with each stage of work on my teeth. I had agonising pain which affected my whole face and I had a front gap then a full tooth loss, so being a recluse was not on my agenda, thanks to every member of staff that gave me my life back I say Thankyou from myself and my family for being so warm, welcoming and efficient in all the work you do for people like me. Negative experience: Very poor customer/ patient care. I have had 3 appointments for treatment canceled at the last minute due to " reasons beyond out control." Over the last 18 months. When I have emailed to complain I was told that the NHS say that they can do this. Although the individual did reply to say that they would rearrage a new appointment this has not happened. I am now fed up of waiting (3 week's) and will therefore now be seeking another practice that has a bit more empathy to its patients.

Negative experience: My mum went here before, paid £45 to get her teeth cleaned however no cleaning was done or was minimal clean. I needed an emergency appointment but was told i would have to pay £80 for an appointment even though im on the NHS. I then had to call everyday for weeks to try and get fitted into a cancellation for a filling. When i booked this appointment it was booked for a filling however, no filling was done, was told i had to book in another time as i wasnt booked in for a filling as i was told by the receptionist. Also recommended me to go private for a service he provides! No appointments until december to get my fillings which will cause great pain by that time! Ridiculous. Been coming to this dentist for 10 years and never had a problem but their service has been terrible over the last two years.

Negative experience: Been with my dentist for years in nolton street never had any problems until the last year and a half . Taken me this long to see somebody after constant cancelling of appointments with no reason at all! Tried to call a number of times to book my daughter in for a check up and no one is answering the phone I popped in the dentist today I asked to make an appointment for my daughter and was told to take a seat because she was on the phone 15 mins passed so I walked out. Rediculous customer service . I will probably be thrown off the list for this review but I couldn’t care less.
We understand people’s frustrations who want routine NHS check-ups however we have limited availability due to NHS dentist vacancies. We have been working closely with the dentists at our practice and have been prioritising NHS patients who are in pain and in need of urgent treatment. Due to this our diaries are fully booked during our NHS hours, so we are unable to offer routine treatments such as examinations at this time.
We are hoping this may change but until we work through the back log, we cannot confirm a time frame. Please be assured that our clinicians are working incredibly hard to try and accommodate as many patients as possible.

Negative experience: Absolutely awful place!! After getting 4 appointments since March and all of them being cancelled. To ring today to try and get another appointment to be told I’m no longer a patient and haven’t been since March and to ring the emergency dental line. If I could give 0 stars I would!
When NHS dentistry contracts changed in England in 2006, any patient ‘registration’ to a specific dental practice was removed. Dentistry now works differently to General Practice, where patients are registered to a specific GP surgery, in dentistry patients are free to move between dental practices to obtain treatment, so long as the practice they wish to attend has NHS capacity. As a dental practice our NHS contractual obligation is only therefore to a patient during an open course of treatment. When a patient has treatment such as Crowns and Bridges the treatment is covered under guarantee for a period of 1 year. Outside of these a dental practice does not have any obligation to continue to offer NHS care to a person.
We have always tried to offer continuity of care, and therefore decided to create an ‘active list’, on which we keep patients for a 2-year period after their last attendance for a check-up or treatment (this does not include emergency only appointments). At your last check-up, the dentist will have advised when you should next attend, this is usually either 6 or 12 months, it is then the responsibility of the patient to make sure they book this next check-up. Failure to do so, will result in removal from the practice books, to create space for the growing waiting list of patients trying to access NHS dentistry, although some {my}dentist practices do offer this recall service as a courtesy service.
Pre pandemic most dental practices were able to operate on the basis that so long as a patient attended appointments regularly and the NHS contract capacity allowed for it, they would continue to see that patient and offer NHS care. However, as demand for NHS places is now so high in many areas across the UK, many dental practices are no longer able to offer appointments to every previous patient that requests one. Under NHS dentistry, there is no guaranteed access to dental appointments.

Negative experience: Very disappointing service. Registered with Bridgend Mydentist following excellent service and treatment for years from Mydentist in Farnborough, Hants. I registered initially approx 2 yrs ago - only tobe informed my notes from Farnborough hadn’t been transferred. A few months later, I re-registered - tried to make appointment for check up to be told system changed due to Covid - would get appointment in a few months (that was latter part of last year). Unfortunately (for me) at this time I was diagnosed with cancer, so dental appointments not prime concern and was not having any dental problems. Have phoned today to try and eventually see a dentist for a check up and a hygienist appointment tobe politely informed I am no longer on their books as I haven’t been seen since registering as an NHS patient- but I could be seen privately. If I can only be seen by going privately, I will do so but not at this practice. So disappointed after such great treatment at an English branch.
As you may be aware, we do have several dentist vacancies at your practice and are actively trying to recruit. Unfortunately, recruitment of dentist’s post pandemic is proving extremely difficult. There is a shortage of dentists in the UK which is making attracting dentists to certain areas of the country more difficult and we are experiencing challenges in recruiting to the area. However, we are looking at all options to attract and re-locate dentists to your practice. Please be assured that the vacancies are not through any lack of trying or apathy on our part, purely that recruiting dentists, is proving difficult.
However, whilst we are recruiting, if you experience a dental emergency, e.g. pain, swelling or bleeding then you can still contact the practice and they will triage your symptoms and advise you how obtain emergency assistance until the practice is fully staffed.

Negative experience: Been ringing since 2pm constantly and same message saying closed for dinner between 1 and 2pm but even at nearly twenty past two the same recorded message plays saying closed for dinner now it's 25 past two and still closed for dinner
