Fantastic experience: This afternoon I attended Bupa Dental Care Sutton Coldfield for a replacement filling in my wisdom tooth, it was a big one! I was greeted at reception as always, with smiles from Maria. Sarandeep is without doubt the best dentist I have ever had. Today he was joined by his assistant Kully who was absolutely fabulous. During treatment Sarandeep ensured I was ok at every step, stopping to ask. Kully was great with the suction, not a piece of filling strayed! She is also incredibly kind. Today I had 'The Dream Team'. I'm writing this four hours after treatment and have no pain and all is great! Thank you all xx

Negative experience: What an appalling experience - having only had praise for this practice in the past I rang on Monday 13th October to reschedule my check up appointment as I had woken up with the most horrendous cold symptoms - head ache blocked nose very high temperature - as I live a 45 minute drive away I didn't feel well enough to make the trip. I was told after a 3 minute hold on the telephone that I would have to pay a late cancelation fee if I did not turn up (this was checked with the Practice Manager) - having explained again that I did not want to cancel merely re schedule as I couldn't be sure it wasn't covid and I did not want to pass this onto staff, the dentist or the dental nurse. I was told that the dentist and the dental nurse would be wearing PPE so it wouldn't affect them and that I would definitely have to pay the fee for not arriving to the appointment. As I did not want to pay for something that I hadn't had I doubled the dose of cold and flu tablets, got dressed and made the journey from Grendon to Sutton Coldfield - found parking - paid and made my way to the surgery The dentist was surprised that I had made my way there so ill and offered not to carry out the treatment but as I had travelled for 45 minutes I asked him to continue and it was all done in less than 10 minutes - he was, as always, the ultimate professional and I have absolutely no complaints about Dr Shafi I really do think that this policy needs some thought - I totally accept some people do not arrive for appointments and waste practice time - I am however not one of these people and made a totally reasonable request to reschedule due to illness APPALLED doesn't quite cover it

Fantastic experience: I was very happy with my new crown and fitting by Azeb Shafi today, everything was explained to me and I was very happy with the procedure from the work done to the original tooth in readiness for the new crown and scanning last week, and to the procedure of the fitting today

Fantastic experience: I had my top six teeth done in Composite Bonding today by Azepb Shafi and he was amazing. Allot of work in one session, but totally worth it, my teeth are whiter, stronger, and feel great. I can smile proudly again.

Fantastic experience: My children and I recently had an appointment with Holly Williams. She was probably the best dentist I've seen there (and they've all been pretty great). She was great with my kids, very knowledgeable and extremely thorough. We have had referrals quickly put in place by Holly and she eased all our concerns. Her dental nurse was lovely too but unfortunately I didn't catch her name.

Fantastic experience: I recently had Invisalign by Dr Azeb Shafi and honestly couldn’t recommend him more! From the start of the process at the consultation he was polite, friendly, approachable and honest, answering all questions honestly and accurately. He told me the price of the treatment and also several ways of paying for it with lots of options available making it accessible to many. Throughout the treatment he was efficient, polite and professional and made me feel comfortable at every appointment. The clinic is clean, comfortable and relaxed. I now have the smile I wanted, and in just a few months! He worked towards my deadline (wedding) and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the final outcome. The before/after pics are shocking and such a transformation! Thanks so much Dr Shafi, you were brilliant! :) Cydney.

Fantastic experience: Azeb shafi was my dentist and i went in with tooth ache . as didnt go to dentist for a long time he told me it would need removing i had it out the same day . he couldn't of been more helpfull through the process as i also need my teeth cleaning asking me to just say at any point if he needed to stop to break . everthing was done to a high standard and recommend here and azeb shafi as your dentist

Fantastic experience: I registered with BUPA in Sutton after having to move back from Tamworth and not having seen a dentist for the last 5 years after the lock down . I was assigned to Karanjit Kaur and on my initial paperwork I said I was a very nervous patient with a terrible gag reflex. I’ve now been three times (including X-rays) all the staff are fantastic. Very welcoming on reception the dental nurses are very supportive and Karanjit has the patience of a saint ! Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: I recently completed a single dental implant procedure with Dr Nazran and was very impressed with his skill and professionalism. I get very nervous during medical procedures, and Dr Nazran was very gentle and took his time to make me comfortable and worked at a pace that i felt was tolerable. The procedure was completed over 3 visits and each time the information and explanation provided was excellent and thorough. I have had no problems at all either during or after each part of the procedure and felt comfortable throughout . I would have no hesitation in recommending Dr Nazran for dental implant procedures. I also visited with my 1 year old for her first check up and she had a wonderful experience! Fantastic experience: Very helpful and professional service

Negative experience: Deliberately Ambiguous about Pricing After three examinations, several x rays, one filling (composite) and a proposed root canal treatment, all private, it became clear to me that the team at Bupa Dental Care Sutton Coldfield are actively being unclear about pricing upfront. One can only assume that this is to maximise profits. Treatment plans only are available on request and when requesting more detail on the itemised charges, staff seemed openly irritated and were reluctant to share this information. Ended up paying £200 for my composite white filling after being told by the dentist themselves that my Bupa insurance would cover the cost. (£300 was the maximum cover on the policy, but only £70 were covered per tooth per tooth.) Cancelled the appointment when I learned about a crown which may or may not have been included in my root canal treatment plan (still unsure now) which would have set me back by more than £700 (yes, that’s excess on my insurance premium). Can’t fault the actual medical treatment I received by Dr Shafi. If you’re fortunate enough to not have to worry about cost upfront (or ever), then probably the place for you. I, unfortunately, am not.

The front desk staff are always polite and efficient and endeavour to sort out everything efficiently. I have been a patient for over 7 years . Dr Shafi is my current dentist. He is highly skilled, carrying out his dentistry work meticulously. He explains treatments very well and gives advice on after care. I have no hesitation in recommending the surgery.

Fantastic experience: I recently visited Bupa Sutton Coldfield for a check up with my two young children. The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly, particularly with the children who were nervous on arrival. We were promptly greeted by Dr Holly and Selina who were very friendly, reassuring and lovely with the children, making them feel at ease. Everything was very clearly communicated and explained. I needed a follow up appointment and was booked in very swiftly. On my next visit the reception staff and dental nurse Gloria were again very friendly and attentive. The treatment from Dr Holly Williams was excellent and I am really pleased with the results.

Fantastic experience: Visiting the Dentist is not really anyone’s first choice of an excursion, but the staff are always extremely friendly and welcoming. Great people. Dr Shafi is an outstanding professional and genuinely seems to care for the welfare of his patients. I have been attending this practice for over 10 years now and have never felt like any treatment was unnecessary, overpriced, or more uncomfortable or painful than it ought to be. When I moved out of the town I chose to retain my dentist and travel the extra distance as I was always so pleased with how I was treated. If I had to travel 100 miles for my 6 monthly check ups I would happily do so

Fantastic experience: I have been having Invisalign braces since November 2023 and have now completed the process. The change in my teeth has been unbelievable. They are now completely straight. My dentist, Dr Shafi, has been superb with me all the way through with excellent communication and reassurance. It has been good value too and the cost is all inclusive of the whitening process at the end. I am in my 60s and the process has absolutely been worth it.
