Fantastic experience: I cannot express how professional my teeth have been straightened by Dr Tom Lotka. A friend of mine also had her teeth aligned by Dr Tom and with her advice and recommendation I started the process. I wont lie it was hard at the beginning (I was warned) as it does take a few weeks do get used to with wearing the new aligners. I did think to myself at time is this all worth it?. You just have to look at the positive side and persevere, as you are shown what your teeth will hopefully look like at the end of the process (in my case 8 months). Fantastic experience: As a teenager, I listened to the lyrics of “Alright Now” a song by Free, “Smiling from her head to her feet” and as someone who looked as though they’d randomly had tombstone teeth pushed into their gums thought that would never be me. But now, at the age of 67, with thanks to the confidence, kindness and expertise of Tom Lotka, my teeth are definitely “Alright Now.” Sorry-bad joke- but bad jokes aside I’m not afraid to smile anymore, and as anyone with unsightly teeth will understand, not having the confidence to smile can sap your joy and be a handicap in life. But Tom is more than a cosmetic technical wizard he is an excellent and trustworthy restorative dentist. I needed complicated dental treatment before I began invisalign like root canal fillings. I also had other complex dental issues. Tom clearly explained a restorative plan. He was honest and realistic about outcomes, but he confidently reassured me there was a strong chance he could save my teeth and provide me with good restorative and cosmetic results. And he did, always making me feel reassured and relaxed even through long and difficult procedures. Tom is also assisted by a great team of dental nurses and the receptionists at School Road Dental Surgery are warm and welcoming and help to create a relaxing environment, but as all his reviews testify, Tom is the tops. I can’t thank him enough for not only giving me my smile back but for treating me with empathy, kindness, and dignity throughout my treatments.

My teeth were quite crooked and overcrowded and a big point of insecurity for me, but they have straightened & look incredible within just one year of treatment! I also had unevenly shaped & stained teeth and Dr Lotka performed some composite bonding and whitening and I am very pleased with the result. Dr Lotka and the dental nurses have all been so professional, compassionate and skilled throughout. I was well informed throughout the process about what was happening, what my options were and there was always full transparency regarding any potential risks (as somebody who had gum recession prior to treatment). Thankfully I have a fantastic smile now!

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend having Invisalign with treatment with Dr Tom Lotka. Having just finished my treatment, I am extremely pleased with the results. The price seemed very reasonable in comparison to my own dental practice. I’m not a huge fan of the dentists but Tom made me feel at ease. I became pregnant during the course of my treatment and experienced nausea for many months which delayed some of my treatment however, this was not an issue and it actually took less time than I originally thought it would take! Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Tom for the invisalign treatment. After having braces for 5 years as a teenager, I was left with an uncomfortable bite. Throughout the years this transitioned into a cross bite with jaw pain on one side. After 9 months of trays and elastics, Tom has massively improved my bite and the jaw tension/pain is basically gone. As well, my teeth look great. It’s amazing that something that caused me discomfort for years was fixed in 9 months and for a good price too. Thank you Tom and team!

Fantastic experience: I spent four years wearing braces as a teenager, and once my straightening was done, I had composite build-ups on my super tiny lateral incisors to create a "full smile". The composite kept breaking off which led to my retainer not fitting and my teeth moving back into position. All those years and still being unhappy with my teeth felt like a waste of time. I spent years feeling conscious of my teeth, and my smile as a result. I looked into getting Invisalign when I started earning properly. I got quotes from different places and some costs were up to £4,500. So I put it off for ages. A word of warning that places which charge much much less than this and say you don't need to visit a dentist, will likely not give you the result you want. I was told that fixed braces are much cheaper but I wanted something more discreet and, after doing several online assessments, I knew my case wasn't as severe as some other peoples, having had braces before. I came across Dr Tom Lotka online. The practice was local to me, the price and payment terms were listed upfront, the reviews online were great (I read and watched so many reviews on Invisalign), and I found that Tom was within the top 1% of providers in Europe. Who better to fix my wonky smile. The assessment was thorough and all my questions were answered, Tom instantly made me feel comfortable and talked about what to expect. We had some photos taken to show a potential before and after, and when leaving I knew that my job was to wear the trays all the time except for eating and drinking certain drinks, change them each week, and look after my teeth. We also discussed my previous build-ups and options to create a full smile while it still being natural for my mouth and face etc. I was initially quoted a three month treatment plan but this was around two months longer in the end due to some teeth positioning that needed to happen in order for me to have my lateral incisors built-up properly to create a smile that was full but still in relation to the size of my mouth. The price is fixed, so this didn't change anything. The fixtures feel funky at first but you get used to them pretty quickly. And taking the trays out feels scary at first but again, you get used to it. Tom was also on hand to answer any questions. You can barely see the fixtures or the trays, and I experienced minimal discomfort. With the extra cost of build-ups (my choice) I chose to finance the cost. The payments were affordable for me and it wasn't as scary as you might think financing could be. It's expensive fixing your teeth! But my quote from School Road included free whitening, retainers, top and bottom Invisalign. This included a free consultation and it was almost £2,000 cheaper than the quotes I received elsewhere. Top provider, lovely staff, local to me, and £2k cheaper. No brainer. My treatment has now finished and I am so, so happy with the results. It's honestly flown by! My teeth are straight, they're much whiter, and my incisors look normal now - they look and feel as if they fit my mouth! I do still need to practice smiling with my teeth but I no longer feel self-conscious about them being on show. It was a birthday present to myself for my 30th and it's been the best investment. Huge thank you to Tom Lotka, and the lovely dental nurses who helped :)
