Fantastic experience: Great experience fron start to finish. I became a patient at The Dentist after having braces fitted while living abroad, and over the last couple of years they have helped me to complete my treatment in the best possibe way. Communication around timelines, pricing and what to expect has always been very clear and friendly, and the process of booking appointments is easy (and on time). I have now completed my treatment and am very happy with the results, thanks very much!

Fantastic experience: Fabulous experience with Mike: met him a few years ago to fix a fully damaged front tooth!! he managed to save the tooth under the gum and add a crown which has lasted 10 years…I decided I wanted composite but he advised against and said due to the crown I needed vaneers…we agreed on 8 vaneers including replacement of the very stable crown!! A few weeks later…here I am with my amazing natural looking new teeth! Couldn’t be happier. All the staff at the dentist are amazing, the service is impeccable and Mike is great!

Fantastic experience: Honestly the best dentist around. James has looked after me for years and I’ve had nothing but amazing knowledgeable service. Today after an awful experience with my 14yr son with another orthodontist, I contacted James and as usual he’s come to the rescue. My son is ADHD and autistic and struggles with people but with James he’s come away smiling and happy that he feels heard and he’s now not stressed about the dentist and future treatments. I can’t thank him and his team enough, the difference it has made to my son is incredible. If I could give more stars I would. Thank you again for helping me out today, it’s turned an awful situation into a calm and positive one.

Fantastic experience: James must be some kind of wizard…. So, I had an initial appt to run though the art of the possible as an adult with fairly bad teeth. I was reassured all the way through and got started in Jan 2024. In June I was finished, straight, white, beautiful teeth. I smile more than I ever knew I could before. I was never in pain (the retainers pinched for a day when changing them) but on the whole it was so much easier than I thought it was going to be. The team are amazing - lovely reception team, Harry and the nursing team super caring and James dentist extraordinaire. A huge round of applause to you all.

Fantastic experience: I didn't realise what a good dentist was until I had my new patient consultation last week. Using exceptionally detailed X-Rays, I was able to see that my previous dentist had not seen the problems I had with an old root canal, and with the one they did themselves. Fortunately The Dentist spotted these, got me in for a hygiene deep clean (not what you'd call enjoyable, but made as comfortable as possible) and a review is in the diary too. In just two visits, I feel like I've had the best dental treatment in twenty years. And for no more money than two visits to my previous dentists. Really excellent service, very pleasant surroundings and attentive staff who explain, smile and comfort. What more could you want?

Fantastic experience: I’ve had a fair amount of treatment done recently with Dr Mike and it’s been amazing from start to finish. Was very nervous to start off with and Mike was really good at explaining what needed doing and putting me at ease! Now I have no fear of the dentist! I’ve had no issues with the treatment I’ve received, just goes to show what having a great dentist can do! The nurses are lovely aswell! The reception staff are brilliant! Always really efficient and helpful with anything I’ve needed! 10/10!!

Fantastic experience: Having wanted to get my teeth looking good for years, I put my faith in James at The Dentist. From initially doing a mock up to then having over 3 hours in the chair - OMG he gave me the mirror and I was blown away! Amazing, what a slick operator, his attention to detail, like an artist ! And they are amazing . Subtle, balanced, not looking like a bright Turkey job, just right . Fantastic experience: Last year, I had what I thought would be a small aesthetic change done to my teeth by my previous dentist who unfortunately actually made changes that weren't discussed or asked for. After trying to work those issues out with him, I was unfortunately not given any solutions to fix what occurred and was left devastated. I found The Dentist after searching online for quite some time for a dentist I felt I could trust to fix the issues I was left with. That was very hard for me because I've had terrible experiences in the past (like that one) and felt like I wouldn't be able to find one I could trust. I loved the results on their website and decided to take a chance and booked a consultation with Dr. James Taylor. At the consultation James was able to quickly give me options to fix what was done. It was such a relief considering my previous dentist gave me no options, so I didn't think anything could be done. During this year, James fixed all of the issues I had and now my teeth look even better than they did before which I never thought could be possible. I was absolutely thrilled with the results and I'm so happy I took the chance to come and see him with my issues. Thank you again for everything!

It can be difficult to imagine at the start of the process what the end result will be. But I’m no longer embarrassed to smile- so very pleased with the end result with final pieces to the jigsaw and whitening to come!

Fantastic experience: I brought my son (who has additional needs) to see James for a consultation on teeth straightening, and also to have non invasive x-rays taken (these are not on offer at our usual dentist). James explained everything he was doing, and put my son at ease. It is really hard to find a dentist accessible for children with additional needs, but my son found the whole appointment stress free. James has offered several options for teeth straightening, taking into account the things my son struggles with such as diet, and taking pain relief. I feel really confident that whichever option my son chooses, James will tailor the treatment to meet his needs, and take a holistic approach as to what will work best for his particular situation.

Fantastic experience: The staff members are friendly and respectful. The problem of my gab teeth was reconstructed, and I had my beautiful teeth and smiled back. I will recommend them to anyone who wants a beautiful smile like me to visit them.

Fantastic experience: I went to see James at 'The Dentist' when what should have been a normal extraction at my local practice went really wrong. When I found out where James had gone and even though it was 17 miles away, i got in touch because i know his previous work as always been to the highest standards and i was confident he would be able to rectify the problem. After seeing James he put me in the capable hands of Michael and for the last 12 months which started with a bone graft to rebuild the area to yesterday where the final moment happened where the last part of the implant was finished. I cant thank you enough, you just dont know how you have made me feel. Thanks first of all to James who reassured me and put me in the capable hands of Michael who talked through every stage and putting me at ease. Negative experience: I apologise for the long winded review but I really haven’t had an overall pleasant experience at The Dentist. Initially, I visited the dentist for a post lockdown check up and to enquire about replacing some porcelain to metal crowns and stained white fillings. I didn’t want a Hollywood smile just merely one that didn’t show all the work I had had done due to problems in the past. I had been a long term patient at another dental practice who were really good but I felt they focused more on function than aesthetics. I loved the modern materials and techniques that I was shown at the initial visit and with the dentist telling me he had been doing implants for 20 years, I felt I was in safe hands. Over the period of the last 2.5 years I have been provided with bonding that was the wrong colour, rough and turned grey within weeks, crowns that showed the metal implant/post through which lead to new crowns of a different material being placed that unfortunately didn’t match the veneers that were only placed because the dentist couldn’t get the colour of the bonding right initially and pain for nearly a year when the veneers/crowns were replaced to ones of the same material. Unfortunately my story doesn’t end there either. 6 months ago I experienced pain in the right side of my jaw so a root canal was carried out and a crown was placed the same day which again, was the wrong colour. Three weeks on, the pain had not gone and when I mentioned this I was told there was nothing wrong with the root canal, I was obviously a very sensitive person but the crown could be changed once everything had settled . 2 months on and still in pain but assured that there was nothing wrong, I went down another route to see if I could get to the bottom of what was causing it. 6 months later, a consultant fee of £300, £320 for a ct scan, £30 of muscle relaxants, £200 mouthguard it turns out that the tooth in front of this one which I was told it couldn’t of been as ‘it’s already been root cannaled’ has actually failed and has probably been the cause of the pain all along. I am now back at my old dentist who is going to re-do the root canal to hopefully end the pain, replace the crown and maybe the one behind it that doesn’t match, at considerably more expense to me. Whilst I was offered a crown to replace the mismatched one, unfortunately I don’t really want to return to the practice. There are some positives though hence the 2 stars. The staff on reception are polite, helpful and the dentist always made time to fit me in when I called. They were always willing to fix things too but I really would’ve just preferred to have had the work done right in the first place and I berate myself for not doing my homework prior to committing to treatment.

Negative experience: One of my molars was filled too hollow and split during the filling procedure and as a result I suffered a root fracture after accidentally biting a granule of hard bone. The toothe got infected and I went elsewhere to have it removed also suffering additional necrosis of the surrounding gum tissue.

I had badly eroding teeth and they were a constant source of embarrassment I made an appointment one of my best decisions .The reception area is calm and reassuring and the staff are lovely . The reception staff are amazing, very friendly and helpful, it made such a difference to walk in to a smile and welcoming face. The reception/waiting room is very clean and comfortable. The dental nurses all seemed very friendly and put me at my ease even before I went in to see the dentist. My dentist is Dr Mike Goldstone and he was very friendly and gentle, (I think he could see I was a bit nervous). I also saw one of the hygienist, Kirsty and she was lovely and friendly too A great experience all round and I’d highly recommend them

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have been struggling to find a dentist. We had tried dentist in our area, but were not happy with the service and treatment. Although the dentist is over 20 miles from where we live we had previously been treated by one of the partners. My wife had not been treated for over 3 years and I was quite a bit longer. From initial contact via the internet through registration, consultation and treatment we cannot fault the administration dentists and hygienists. They also offer a dentist insurance plan for regular visits. If you want regular inspections, cleans or more complicated treatments or cosmetic work. I would strongly recommend the practice. Many thanks to all the staff for making us feel welcome and relaxed.

The dentist James was absolutely wonderful and explained everything to me and reassured me that I was in safe hands.
