The Old Stables Dental Practice

Fantastic experience: I attended the old stables as an emergency new patient with an infected fractured root filled tooth that had to be extracted. The whole experience was brilliant, every member of staff gave me confidence in their ability to treat me in a safe way, especially as it was complicated as I have a metal plate in my jaw. As an added bonus it is in a beautiful country surrounding and wonderful calmly decorated interior. My brother also uses this practice and has had wonderful treatment, he also has medical complications so they have been particularly careful with him. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend this dental practice.

The dentist Chris Mulholland took 5 X-ray then used a small camera in my mouth to show me the problems he had found. Fantastic experience: I truly cannot praise this outstanding practice highly enough! After going through numerous NHS dentists, I found myself in catch 22. I hadn't seen a dentist for quite some years as at this time my dental phobia had reached a point where I was absolutely terrified, but at the same time I worried about not going and potentially ending up with serious dental problems. I went on the search to try and find a dentist who actually understood dental phobia and I came across The Old Stables. I booked an appointment and hardly slept until that day came as I was beyond petrified! I sat in the waiting room rocking with tears in my eyes and my heart pounding, but somehow got through it. After my initial appointment I was booked in with the hygienist - Lianne. I can only describe Lianne as an earth angel and I will forever be in her debt! From my very first appointment Lianne has been absolutely amazing, and from having three monthly appointments with her, she was able to build my confidence enough to brave me seeing the dentist - which I was still avoiding! Without Lianne I would still be in the position of being petrified of dentists, she gave me time, understanding, encouragement, made me laugh, made me realise there's a solution for everything and things are never that bad - there really was nothing to fear. It was only due to Lianne that I was able to face having a wisdom tooth out in hospital - something I would have ran away from before. I should also mention that Lianne has worked absolute miracles on my gums. They were not in a great way to say the least and are now lovely and healthy. Lianne is simply amazing and I cannot thank her enough for all she has done for me. Dan my dentist....ahhh Dan is literally my hero! I've lost count of the amount of dentists I've seen over the years and can honestly say he is everything and more that you could ever wish for in a dentist. Dan is so incredibly understanding, as having experienced dental phobia with a family member, he really does get it and made me feel at complete ease, which I had never experienced whilst sat in a dentists chair before. Dan is highly, highly skilled in all that he can do with teeth, literally producing works of art! Once I began getting over my phobia, I took an interest in actually having some work done as a treat to myself. After a chat with Dan we decided on composite bonding on two teeth and some filing on various others to straighten them up. Oh my goodness the results were amazing, Dan literally gave me my smile back and I have officially crowned him the king of composite! Dan is also my sons dentist. My son had a bad experience with a dentist which made him very weary but he loves going to see Dan. Dan is just amazing with everyone, he's kind, funny, understanding, encouraging, genuinely cares and a world apart from every other dentist I have ever been to. If If I ever move, I will travel any distance to still have Dan and Lianne as my dream combo as they are literally irreplaceable! I'd also like to give equally as much recognition for the fabulous dental nurses and the heart warming ladies on reception. They are all so lovely and friendly. The ladies on reception are literally the first faces you see, and when you have a dental phobia it really does make such a difference to be greeted by such friendly ladies who know your name, and who do everything they can to put you at ease. You're not a number here, I'm sure every member of staff at The Old Stables must have been carefully selected, as I've never known such a kind, caring and genuine team of wonderful humans! I realise this is quite a lengthy review, but from someone who had a severe dental phobia, if it helps just one person to make an appointment I can guarantee you will never regret it. The Old Stables really is worlds apart as they truly do genuinely care for everyone that walks through the door :-)

I am a patient of Chris Mulholland & his care has been exceptional; previous hospital trauma had left a legacy which impacts me in the dental chair, however Chris and the wonderful dental nurses are empathetic, compassionate and reassuring, taking the treatment at my pace, providing a reassurance touch when needed. I would also like to mention Lianne Broome, Hygenist who also upholds the highest professional standards with that same compassion and human approach which makes everyvisit a pleasure and & I leave feeling like I have been catching up with old friends!

Fantastic experience: Brilliant Dental Surgery. Staff take the time to get to know you and put you at your ease. From the Dentist, the hygienist, the dental assistants and reception staff they are all so caring and considerate. The Dentist took the time to carefully examine my teeth which, post covid and not being able to register with a dentist, were in a bit of a state. He explained the problems and what the treatment plan was going to be. The aim with me is to preserve and prevent any further damage to my teeth. Sunce registering at the Old Stables Dental Practice I don’t mind seeing the dentist and have no fear. In the past, due to bad experiences, i have dreaded seeing the hygienist but here at this practice they couldn't have been more reassuring. It has changed my feelings about having a descale and polish. I am no longer nervous and uptight. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough, they are great.
