Positive experience: I’ve been to Portman dental a couple of times over the years typically for check ups or hygiene visits. They were pretty standard visits however, on my last visit I received exemplary care from Sam for a standard clean and polish. Sam was very helpful in providing clear explanations and suggestions for my teeth as well as being gentle on my teeth while being thorough. This is the best experience I’ve had so would definitely recommend anyone to go.

It is because of this experience that I can categorically say Portman is my favourite. Tristan explained about the procedure needed to make sure I was going to be happy with the results expected. I am "elderly" and have my own teeth, but found I was biting my tongue at times and also not happy with the way 2 had moved out of line. After a few months I could see the results achieved with my braces and now my teeth are perfect. I was comfortable on every visit and had every confidence in the team. I highly recommend Tristan and the practice in Sheffield.

Fantastic experience: This is honestly the best dentist I have ever been to, they’re reliable, talented, kind, it’s so easy to get an appointment, they’ve done so much work for me and it was mostly painless! I was shocked at how little it actually hurt, even after my root canals I didn’t have to take any pain medicine afterwards and my face didn’t swell up like it has done before with other dentists. If you’re scared of the dentist or need a lot of work doing, this is the dentist to choose. I can totally trust in their expertise. You’re not just a set of teeth at Portman, they genuinely care about you as a person and do everything they can to help

Fantastic experience: I am very satisfied with my experience at Portman Dental Clinic. The retainer that they provided initially turned out to be too tight, so they agreed to replace them with a slightly wider fit. This follow up service was all free of charge and the end result seems to be excellent. I can highly recommend the clinic based on this and other past visits.

Fantastic experience: I have a very complex case and a large treatment plan that's been ongoing for several months now and will continue. It's a significant effort for me to continue with it and therefore I need to feel comfortable and confident that the care I'm receiving is of a very high standard. There's a lot of poor advice and misinformation flying around right now about dentistry and people looking to capitalise on tight pursestrings with hack-job options. If you can avoid this, find financing options, etc. please do. Portland's care is expensive, especially to a working class person in a cost-of-living crisis, but the cost is worth it, if you can afford it. I've been to other clinics (NHS and private) in my life where I've felt very uncomfortable and anxious and the practice hasn't done anything to settle me. Also, I would say I've been given some poor advice by other practices. Portland has gone out of its way to provide me with the best care possible, even when that has meant things have taken a bit longer than planned or where a lot of attention to detail on a treatment has been needed to make sure that the outcome has been the best it can be. It is expensive; and for some it will be too expensive, depending on your treatment needs. But it's a choice that I'm extremely happy I made and would encourage you to do the same, if possible. You can feel so vulnerable when facing dental treatment and afraid of any number of things: pain, the treatment going wrong, etc. I can't stress enough how important it is to have a dental practice who offers the best case, in an empathetic and inclusive way.

Fantastic experience: To be blunty my dentist did a Bridge 18 months ago I said it's very unstable she said it's fine will take time roll frwd she said needs RC and she was willing 2 do RC I said thks but I only hv Mr Bill Seddon 2 do such as he as corrected previous disasters by others ..on 19/6/24 Mr Seddon was very worried about the poor work done he said these are your options..I replied Mr Seddon I trust you absolutely so do whatever needs 2 be done understand high probability that extraction likely but complex it was very he navigated and end result major Improvements hence I always request Mr Seddon 2 do my RC he is a exceptional person very highly respected individual in his field Renowned dentist Dr Christopher Orr recommended I see him in the past stating Mr Seddon a leading endodontist I will always request tht Mr Bill Seddon take care of the issue ...a wonderful team are Mr Seddon and his delightful wife Mrs Seddon a superb team all RCs performed By Mr Seddon on me complete success including past failures by others which the intricate Mr Seddon repaired all Amazing such a talent Thank you Mr and Mrs Seddon

Fantastic experience: I came to the practice for a check up as a new patient. I was extremely anxious and it had been a while since I'd been to a dentist, but Rachael was really kind and reassuring and was very patient when I got emotional! As my teeth were in pretty good condition, Rachael offered me a quick in-appointment clean to remove a bit of build-up. I really appreciated having this option as I didn't have to worry about coming back for a separate hygienist appointment. I will be coming back for my check-up next year and hopefully less nervous! I am really glad I chose Portman.

Fantastic experience: Been in pain over the past few days due to a mouth ulcer. Contacted Portman Dental and the lady on reception was more than happy to help. Due to the pain, I asked if there is any cancellations can you please contact me. The following morning I was called up. Within hrs the lovely dentist had me in a seat, checked me out, gave me some options and prices and before I knew it I was on my way to the pharmacy for some antibiotics. I will definitely be going back again. I'm not a rich man but it was definitely worth the £95 for the fast service I received.

Fantastic experience: Every single experience I've had at Portman has been stellar. I always feel listened to, and my needs understood. Everything is explained in detail before any treatment is agreed and undertaken, and is then always done perfectly. Medical and reception staff are always friendly and helpful, and I've never struggled to get a speedy appointment.

Fantastic experience: Taking your tooth out it's never plesent, but sometimes necessary. If you ever need to do it I really recommend Howard. I never had any dentist in my life, who could do it better. It doesn't hurt, you nearly feel nothing. My removal today wasn't the easiest, but he managed it without any pain. Couldn't be more greatful for his help and definitely wouldn't managed without him. I can't imagine a different person pulling this tooth out today. Thank you. His lovely assistant kept sure I am fine and the music helped too.

Fantastic experience: I was seen by doctor Howard and Megan his assistant. Both very polite and charismatic. I was extremely impressed with doctor Howard's expertise, attention for detail and honesty. I came in with to queries regarding my incisor and gum, after looking into all my teeth thoroughly. He's conclusion was that, the incisors needed cleaning as it was calcified (very obvious) however, I had two teeth that always get food stuck in them even though I did not complain he was able to see that the need extra care and cleaning. After not being to a dentist 4 years, he could have made it out to be a lot worse instead he said everything was fine and there isn't much to do. Definitely worth the consultation fee.

Fantastic experience: Had an emergency appointment as I was in severe pain. The dentist removed two silver points from my root canal which had been there for years. Apparently this is extremely difficult to do and am very grateful I had such an experienced dentist who was able to remove them. Would highly recommend!

Negative experience: Came here with a swollen gum, was told I need a new crown, spent 850 quid on it and got it done. Was told that the swelling should go down. A week after it was still swollen, tried to see the dentist about it and they wanted to make me pay to see him which is basically post procedure thing, thankfully managed to see him. He told me that it’s a hygiene thing (gum gets worse after flossing, brushing, but gets better if I don’t touch my mouth) So a couple months have passed and what we have in the end - I’m 850 quid poorer, the crown doesn’t feel like my tooth at all and the problem I came there with still here and gotten worse. But staff is friendly at least :)

I have hated my teeth for many years and being able to smile properly again feels incredible. Dr Fahad Khan was professional, knowledgeable and took time to explain each step. I am a very nervous patient after a bad experience previously and his calm, friendly manner helped hugely. Adele was also an absolute gem in calming my nerves and checking in on me throughout. Reception staff are helpful and friendly. Overall my experience has been so positive (and I am phobic about going to the dentist!) so would wholeheartedly recommend.

The Portman Group send unprofessional aggressive communications and have not changed these despite apologising after a compaint was made. Don't let Portman Group put you off using a fabulous dentist, but if Portman want a better review from me they need to act on feedback not just ignore it.

The staff are friendly and professional, and answered all my questions very clearly. They have provided me with excellent treatment, and a fantastic Invisalign plan to straighten my teeth. Fantastic experience: I initially went to Portman Dental for myself as I was unhappy with my teeth. Dr Fahad Khan was absolutely amazing! He was so calm and confident which reassured me I was in good hands. All throughout my treatments he was professional and personal which made my experience even better. Any questions I had or things I was unsure about I contacted him directly and he replied promptly. My overall experience with Portman Dental was fantastic, their admin team were swift and friendly and it has been my best experience of any Dental Clinic. Following my experience I was left with results I didn't think was ever possible and I am so happy with my teeth, I feel so much more confident and happy within myself. I then referred my dad to Dr Khan knowing I could really trust him. My father is a retired basketball player and suffered a huge hit to his teeth when playing, leaving his front teeth permanently pushed back. The work and results Dr Khan did for my father was fantastic. My father is someone who never dared to go to a dentist to fix his teeth and was initially really hesitant and nervous about how different he would look. However, the work done has left him so excited, confident to smile and RAVING about how amazing Dr Khan is. We are forever grateful to Dr Khan and the Portman Dental Clinic. Negative experience: Pleased with service. Charges excessive I was lead to believe that the hygienist would ‘do her best’ under current restrictions. I believed that water couldn’t be used. This was misleading as I paid for PPE!

Negative experience: Not helpful or caring, I cannot recommend them, receptionists were terse and arrogant, couldnt get past this stage to see a dentist who might have been ok. Prime location & all glitz & glamour but rude & unhelpful.
