Alresford practice is a 4 chair practice. Although currently closed to NHS patients we have 1 full and 1 part time dentist offering both NHS and private treatments. We also have 1 part time dentist offering affordable private treatments via myoptions. We also have 3 part time hygienists which enables us to offer hygiene appointments 4 days per week and all offer direct access. We also have a visiting dentist placing implants. Whilst there is no dedicated parking for the practice there is on street parking to the front of the practice which is free for 1 hour and just a short walk away there are 2 pay and display car parks which charge £1.20 for 4 hours.

Fantastic experience: I actually enjoyed getting a filling....yes enjoyed it. Was my second one here and the first was done at a very high standard. The staff are amazing and very attentive to making you feel comfortable. We all know going to the dentist is uncomfortable/invasive and an expensive affair, so when you have such a nice experience it can soften the blow quite a bit! The consulting room could benefit from some care: Better heating and ventilation as it smells very damp and musty; not the nicest environment to spend thirty minutes with your mouth wide open catching spores. Accounting still remains a little unclear; a statement of account, not just a till receipt, would be helpful as the deposit status is never clear, perhaps this could be accessed online?

Negative experience: When you first call them, the recorded message says they are taking on new NHS patients. Just over 47 minutes on hold and when somebody did answer, they informed me that they are only taking on children as patients. Changing the recorded message would benifit many people I'm sure.
Our phone line does state 'accepting new patients'. However, new patient appointments are offered subject to capacity and are limited in number. Regrettably we cannot offer an NHS space to everyone who contacts us each day requiring care. Please keep in touch with us over the coming months as we work hard to expand our new patient NHS capacity.

Negative experience: Really poor quality – the hygienist missed parts of my back teeth and clearly needs better training. I’ll need to see another hygienist to get it done properly. Charged £100, whereas others charge £70–£75. Never again.

Fantastic experience: I am a very nervous (verging on petrified) patient, I was made to feel so welcome both by reception ladies and the dentist Ben Matthews. Ben went out of his way to put me at ease, which was a very hard job, but he was so very patient with me and explained everything he was going to do to remove a very nasty tooth.
