Fantastic experience: I have been a patient here for many years now and know some of the Receptionist staff quite well.My Dentist is Ella Carter i am a nervous patient and I would just like to thank Ella for her care and professionalism I had a Maryland bridge done and it has far exceeded my expectations .I have heard today that Ella is leaving the Practice I am most upset at this but obviously wish Ella all the Best she is a credit to the Profession .

Fantastic experience: I just can’t NOT give feedback on my latest experience. I have never met a more caring, thoughtful, polite, honest and professional dentist than Patryk. His thorough explanations of the treatment options and friendly manner were outstanding. He was very ably supported by Treatment Coordinator, Yas, who organised unexpectedly quick appointments. Bravo both.

Negative experience: I had a very bad experience with this dental clinic. I paid £77 to book an appointment for a dental cleaning. When I booked the appointment, nobody explained that if I missed it, I would lose my money or have to pay an extra £65 to book another appointment. When I missed the appointment the next day, they kept all my money. On top of that, the receptionist spoke to me very badly and was rude. I do not recommend this place to anyone. They do not explain their policies clearly to customers and the customer service is very poor.

Negative experience: They cancelled my appointment and claimed that they informed me but they did not. They pushed it a month later without discussing it. Awful place

Fantastic experience: I suspect that everyone wants a dentist who is friendly, professional, kind, cares about his/her patients and is prepared to adjust their work breaks to deal with emergency dental problems. My dentist, Amina Malek, based at the Wigan practice is such a person. I am very fortunate to be one of her patients.

Fantastic experience: This dental practice has the most amazing staff. Everyone is so friendly and professional in all their roles. My dentist is Barry Ishaque he is absolutely first class. He is informative and thorough. Very patient too. He now knows what’s the best treatment is for me. I have had years of poor dentistry from being a child but I have no fear, and best of all it’s pain free treatment.

Negative experience: When i joined the practice i was told i was an nhs patient. At some point in the last few years i became a private patient without being told. I had arranged a routine checkup. I was told there was a 10 minute delay. I waited 50 minutes. The checkup itself was less then 10 minutes. I asked about a clean and she said they could do one when I came back for the next checkup in 6 months. I was aware that there was an elderly customer complaining in the waiting room and was to be seen after me. The dentist was clearly rushing me out the door to see this patient. I will not return to this practice

Fantastic experience: Had an appointment with Alix today and could not be more happy with the treatment and care I received from her. She was so kind, understanding and patient and sorted an issue I had been extremely upset about. I am happy to be booked back in with her for my next NHS treatment

Negative experience: Ok so here goes, had my teeth done in Turkey. My decision my fault. Went for checkups here I was seen but hesitant to do so. Didn’t want to touch anything much and wouldn’t offer cleans ? It’s just stupid behaviour almost like they try to punish you for a bad decision every appointment was the same. Funny looks snide remarks sent out the door after a little look in my mouth. Anyway that’s not the issue here as I said my fault I’ll accept it. Further to this I have been suffering serious mental health problems fear of the dentist and very ill health. Fast forward a few months in try i to book an appointment to be told iv been taken off the list due to late appointments and it not showing up to 2 appointments or one late one missed from what I gathered. Told them I have been suffering lately and not only did I miss my appointment but I missed so Many things in life due to my ill health and could they try to understand from my side that I didn’t just “not turn up” or turn up late I had a genuine reason. But hey ho I feel they made any excuse to get me off the books because I had work done in Turkey. So for that it’s 1 star and I am going to take the matter to DCS and then ultimately if needs be the PHSO they turned me down in a time of major pain and need that’s not protocol for nhs dentist.

Negative experience: This company used to be good but I feel over the past 5 years it's become more focussed on money and not dental care. It seems everything has gone separately. So if you want a checkup you no longer get a scrap and polish, you have to pay a further cost to see the hygienist, then if you need a tooth out, they refer you to another dentist which cost your a further fortune. Everything is money, money, money!!!

Negative experience: Absolute joke!! Rang 2 days in a row due to my partner having excruciating pain two teeth cracked badly and filling has come out but won’t see him at all!! Told them how bad he is ti the point drinking Luke warm water is stinging him and he’s losing his breath from the pain but get oh try again tomorrow! I will be moving him to the same dental practice as me as they get you in the same day if the tooth is causing pain, it’s not the first time this practice has let him down he had yet another exposed tooth begged for an appointment and was told nothing available he ended up having to go private for his tooth removed which put him in hospital as he has a bad heart, it’s on his record that he must be seen urgently as it can cause problems with his heart but this practice isn’t interested especially seeing as every filling in his mouth are coming out so he’s an urgent patient with no help ! Would not recommend this dentist at all

Very enlightening ... honestly this visit really did prove that there are professionals in this chosen field of dentistry that make the whole experience less stressful and considerably more bearable. Negative experience: Staff are awful rude uninterested and eager to put you on hold pay up front yet cancel the appointment 3 times last of which was an hour prior save your money

Fantastic experience: Alex, the therapist carried out a filling for my daughter who was really nervous. Alex was outstanding. She took her time to explain everything and was really professional and kind. Wouldn’t hesitate in recommending her to any patients who are worried or scared of the dentist. They were honest about how things would feel and both put me at ease during my procedures. I almost fell asleep during some of my procedures they were that good at what they both do.

Positive experience: All the stuff face to face and the dentist were been brilliant, I have my mom who is disabled registered with them . We had issues with appointment cancellations and dentures over all . Nevertheless it seems that the issue is a nationwide issue. The only thing if they ever could improve is when we call or they call sometimes I don’t know where there is the sound system on my ears the way I hear them speaking to me is as if I was born yesterday or someone that to be threatened . Again, the people on the call might be the loveliest people on the world. I see them from time to time and they’re great as well. But just how when they trying to pass bad news, you wouldn’t need to be stressed on the phone calls so much because it’s not your problem in the first place you are not the issue. It could be the dentist could be The System . It could be the whole world. Please take extra care. People might be in a bad mental health crisis. One message if you can pass it to the dentist, please read out the summary of your patience, overall mental health issues and medicine when we break in someone who is disabled who is had traumatic experience who is unable to express herself, you would just assume that she’s just a normal lady getting treatments I’m not accusing you of not being curious I sincerely kindly request to be considered as an improvement that improvement to be seen then you are the best place to go to .

Fantastic experience: Having had a major cycling accident in my teens and damaging all the nerves in my front teeth, and experiencing poor NHS dentist treatment at another dentist, I managed to find two of the best private dentist who work at this practice, Jonathan and Tom are amazing and worked miracles on my teeth and gums. I'm so grateful to these two dentist for sorting out my gums and nerve damage.

Fantastic experience: I have had 3 dental practices in my life. I’m now 58. They say third time as charm. Well mydentist Standishgate is a CHARM. I have been 3 times now and every time it’s the same. The atmosphere is so welcoming chilled happy. I Even could hear the the staff laughing. That speaks volumes of how comfortable the staff are to work. I was treated like a member of the family or a close friend. Alex (my dentist) and her assistant was so genuine my anxiety was just destroying. I was expecting the same old, in out in 1 minutes. No chart do minimum what was needed. But I was soooo wrong. They treatment was way above and beyond was I expected. I have never had treatment like it. It was so much more than I was expecting. Don’t take my word for it. Just look at all the reviews. Or just change and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed. Fantastic experience: On Tuesday I saw Mrs Dawson for root removals and a plate fitted straight after. I am very nervous going to the dentist but Mrs Dawson and her dental nurse were both very nice and put me at ease.

Fantastic experience: After many years of previously hating going the dentist and feeling embarrassed about my smile I decided to discuss these issues with my new dentist Ella. She was extremely helpful and made me feel at ease. Following these discussions I decided too have the clearcorrect / invisalign, teeth whitening and some bonding to bottom of my teeth. I can't recommend this dentist enough. The process was easy throughout, I had regular check ups and support from Ella and any concerns I could contact Katie immediately. Following all the work I can actually smile again for the first time in years. I found the receptionist extremely helpful and the practice was very clean with both upper and lower level waiting rooms. Fantastic experience: I have been going to this dentist since I can remember for regular check ups since being young. I have always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, whether that be the reception staff, the dentists, students/apprentices, etc. I began my Invisalign journey with Julia in November of 2022 and am now a week away from finishing my treatment. I had a frenectomy with Tom (I think his name is) before starting my Invisalign treatment and he was amazing! Very comforting and reassuring as I was very nervous for the procedure. Throughout the Invisalign treatment both Dentist Julia and Dental Nurse Megan have been absolutely out of this world! Very informative and explained everything clearly to me from start to finish so I knew what was happening and when. I am so very pleased with my results and can’t thank you all enough! <3

My husband recently visited the my dentist standishgate wigan he received a very warm welcome took care of formalities ie form fillings. On reception the staff was very friendly and so helpful in the dental surgery again I found the dental surgeon Dr Sarah Dawson and her assistant where very warm and welcoming the treatment went well very gentle not rushed no pain overall outstanding service from everyone at my dentist standishgate wigan keep up the good work

Fantastic experience: Yesterday I had a dental implant and just want to thank Tom Owen, Katie and the staff for everything they have done. I was quite nervous but the whole procedure was nowhere near as bad as I expected. Tom explained everything beforehand and told me exactly what he was doing every step of the way. He made sure that I didn’t feel pain and topped up the local anaesthetic immediately if anything felt “pokey!” The follow up advice was accurate so that I knew exactly what to expect! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I have recently had a root canal and crown done at Wigan My dentist. I can’t recommend them highly enough. I saw Jonathan and he was excellent throughout. I felt very safe in his hands and he was very reassuring throughout both procedures which really helped calm my nerves & fear of the dentist. I also had fantastic service from Katie the treatment coordinator who patiently liaised with Jonathan to answer my numerous questions and helped me process my dental insurance claim form. She is so organised & efficient and I am really grateful for all the help she gave me.

Negative experience: I have been with this dentist for around 7 years. In the beginning I had a fantastic dentist. Mr Raider if I recall correctly. He left at some point but I was never told this. When it came to my next check up I was advised that he had left. I was placed with Mr Ash C.. Again this fantastic dentist left after I got comfortable with him. Since than all has been hit and miss. Then covid 19 hit. First I could not get any check up appointments. Only emergency cases would be seen. So no dentist appointment for well over a year. In Nov/ Dec last year the pain started. I managed to get an appointment but the dentist who treated me at the time told me that there was nothing wrong. She was kind enough to fix my broken front tooth (originally the corner broke off in my teens and gets replaced every so often) unrelated to the pain but otherwise I was made to feel as if I had only imagined the pain and left that day feeling like an imposter. About two days after said visit some of the tooth broke off- the tooth which was supposed to be ok. As I still felt bad for having taken time from them for "nothing being wrong" and all the covid issues I did not go back to them right away. After the pain started up again and this time really bad, I booked another appointment. As unbelievable as it seems - on my way to the dentist later thursday I got hit by another car and never made the appointment. Finally I managed to call yesterday to try and rebook the appointment. Advising them that my broken tooth is causing me a great amount of pain and that I believed that there may be another root canal treatment needed as I've had something similar it in the past. They had a short appointment for yesterday which I could not take due to the distance I am travelling. Instead I was given the appointment today with the understanding that I would receive the help needed. Despite what I said when booking the appointment it appears I had only been given a 15 minute slot to be taken care off. The choice I have been given was to lose the tooth which could be done in the allotted slot or book another appointment to be treated properly. Not only is the pain killing me but I also have taken half a day holiday to attend today's appointment to just be sent away untreated. The dentist just put something in the hole to stop food getting in. In the meantime I am at home with the pain getting stronger by the hour and left to fend for myself. The last few times now I felt less and less like a human being but more like a piece of s...- something stuck under a shoe. I am working full time but can not afford private dental treatment. It is impossible to find another NHS dentist. Every single one I called today via the NHS website told me I would be welcome as a private patient but not as NHS patient. It looks like many dentists have decided to take covid19 as an opportunity. It feels like NHS patients have become pro bono cases which are depending on the good will of the practices while at the same time the dentists appear to be using the NHS website as free advertising platform to lure future desperate patients in. One comment received today was that I could call myself lucky to still have an NHS dentist. Aren't I lucky... After today's ordeal I have no desire to ever visit this practice again. In my mind they have once more negelected their duty of care. This time by not helping me to either reduce or control the pain until "proper treatment" would be available for me. But what they have not failed to do is giving me excuse after excuse why they could not help today and additionally taken the fee for the emergency care I never received unless you call stuffing something in a hole of a tooth in need of a root canal treatment emergency care.....I let you decide on this.
