This week my Hearing Dog came to the surgery with me, sat on my lap with no drama & I was able to have a complete clean & polish. The staff were wonderful, no fuss, just kindness.

Fantastic experience: I am a nervous patient and the Ock street clinic is one of the few dentists I've been able to regularly go to. They are so professional and friendly. They were able to offer me a sedation appointment when I needed a large amount of treatment. They have taken the time to reassure me and I'm so proud of how my teeth are looking. The practice is spotless and lots of services offered like a 3D scan to get a night guard to stop my teeth grinding. Would highly recommend for nervous patients like me! Update 2 years later, still go here and still extremely pleased with the helpful caring service I receive.

Negative experience: Very rude horrible lady receptionist with terrible attitude. Seems to not be bother with any customer queries. Should be fired straight away!!!

Fantastic experience: My daughter recently had two teeth extracted in preparation for orthodontic treatment, and she was incredibly nervous about the procedure. We made the surgery aware of this beforehand, and it was clear from the moment we arrived that Dr. James Eaton had been fully briefed and had prepared with great care. Dr. Eaton showed exceptional empathy and professionalism throughout. He took the time to explain the procedure to my daughter in a way that perfectly matched what she needed, enough detail to help her understand what was happening, but not so much that it would overwhelm her. She is naturally quite curious, and he handled her questions with patience and clarity, which really helped her process what was about to happen. What really stood out was the genuine care he showed. He made sure she felt safe, listened to, and fully supported. His calm and reassuring approach significantly reduced her anxiety, and by the time the procedure took place, she felt confident and much more relaxed. The entire experience was handled with such compassion and thoughtfulness, and I’m extremely grateful for the care Dr. Eaton provided. I would highly recommend him to anyone, especially parents of anxious children needing dental procedures. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Having tooth pain is no joke at anytime of the year so with that in mind i find myself looking for a dentist at the busy Christmas/New year period as i have a tooth that's become loose and is killing me, I have been a patient of the Ock Street Abingdon practise previously but for certain reasons i have not visited for near two a years, i call and i am now talking with the politest and most empathetic receptionist i have ever had the good fortune to talk with. Straight away she wants to help and to my ultimate surprise they have space for an emergency visit available for me. After having this wonderful experience I'm now at the practise and face to face wow no difference in how I'm treated, I'm then kindly informed there will be a short wait due to other emergency more important then me. 10 minutes later I'm met by the dentist who is going to help me, a very kindly person indeed from the off, now in the room for treatment i can honestly say i am calm, empathy is shown from the off and I'm going to be helped not just treated helped and cared for, and even though im loosing another tooth the whole procedure was completed in minutes and without fanfare, i am now pain free and looking to enjoy new years celebrations without a loose tooth and without tooth pain. I cannot express just how pleased and thankful i am to Ock Street Dental Clinic Abingdon, Their staff and Doctors are first class for service and excellent in their chosen craft, I would suggest and recommend anyone in need of help or assistance with their teeth consider this practise as you will be treated as a human and without judgement and you will be cared for not just treated, Whilst all dentistry is sometimes expensive i would and will willingly pay as i see no other surgeries or clinics that can compare in delivering regards the unexpected journey i undertook on Tuesday 30th December 2025. Fantastic experience: I've had very positive experiences with Ock Street Clinic. The receptionists have been really helpful for me, I've seen multiple hygienists and they've been great, and my main dentist is very warm and welcoming. In particularly, Dr James Eaton has been fantastic with myself, my daughter and my husband. James is great with children - he has been really good with making my daughter (2) feel like anxious. Would recommend this dental practice!

Fantastic experience: I wish I had changed to this clinic years ago. Everyone is friendly, polite and professional. Dr Eaton was very positive about my teeth and explained the options. When a veneer, put on by another practice, chipped, it was no drama. James fixed it so that the tooth looks whole again. No pain. I shall be going there till I pop my clogs.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at Ock Street Clinic for many years and I can not speak highly enough of this practice. I would particularly recommend Dr Keene; an exceptional dentist, whose expertise, thorough approach and care is second to none. Fantastic experience: Lovely dentists, we take the whole family there. They're very good with patients, especially so with my younger kids, very reassuring and caring. A trip to have work done on your teeth can be uncomfortable but they get to know patients well, take the time to put you at ease, and are very welcoming, from the receptionist to the dental professionals. Special mention to Ellen the dentist and Olga the hygienist.

Fantastic experience: Really great dentist with well priced treatments. They have massively helped me restore my gums back to health and keeping my teeth where they are meant to be! Also, they are incredible when it comes to anxious patients, as they happily rearranged for a better method of x-ray that has helped my partner with his teeth.

Fantastic experience: I had to make an emergency appointment whilst on holiday in Abingdon, as I had broken a tooth. I was seen on the same day, and Ellen was very thorough and reassuring. She made sure I had all the information that I needed for my dentist back at home and did a super job giving me a temporary filling and saving the second half of my holiday. Thank you!

Negative experience: I was supposed to have enameloplasty and composite bonding done in December 2024, but upon walking into the Dentist's office, I was told they had cancelled my appointment. Not once did anyone tell me this had been done. I felt let down, but I chalked it up to a one-off mistake on their part. I was thus rebooked for February. Upon getting to my appointment, Dr Bozena Kanas ran late as usual. When the appointment finally started (25 minutes late), we again ran over what I wanted to be done to my teeth (enameloplasty and composite bonding on an upper front tooth to even out a slight asymmetry between my upper central incisors). As she was putting on the composite bonding, she decided it was an appropriate time to have a conversation with her colleague about a third member of staff and a night out. Upon finishing the composite bonding on my upper left incisor, she gave me a mirror to look at the composite bonding. I was horrified by how uneven they looked. I asked that the composite bonding be removed, which she agreed to. She used some dental suction tool, but each time she put it in my mouth, she sprayed water all over my face and top. This happened about five times. Not once did she apologise for spraying me with water; instead, she laughed as if this was funny to her. By the time all of the composite bonding had been removed, my tooth was bleeding. She never mentioned that my tooth would bleed, nor did she offer any apology for her numerous mistakes. Please avoid Dr Kanas at all costs.

Fantastic experience: Superb care and treatment at every appointment with all staff. As a slightly nervous patient I felt reassured enough to opt for extensive orthodontic treatment which has been very successful. All the staff are great at listening to and caring for your needs. The first dental surgery, for me, that almost feels like a wellness centre . Thank you.

Fantastic experience: The staff are fabulous and very friendly. From the receptionists to the hygienist, everyone i've met have been really nice and welcoming. As for the service itself, I could not be happier. I took the plunge after a chipped tooth, which turned out to have been caused by a microfracture given to me by an old filling expanding. This had allowed bacteria into the tooth, slowly compromising it from within. The dentist cut away the bad (which was a lot of the tooth), and rebuilt it all using a porcelain substance. Now it's like new. They ask a lot of questions that are designed to help determine how well you are taking care of your teeth, and give recommendations for anything you could imrpove on. I've only been seeing them for 6 months, but between my first and second visit, using their advice had positive results for my dental health. Yes they are more expensive because they are private, but from my experience they are worth every penny.

Fantastic experience: I was recommended the Ock Street Clinic by my cousin and was not disappointed. I have a fear of Dentists that has dogged me over the years and I have been lucky with very few. However, my experience here has been first class and I have had a couple of treatments by James who could not have been better at putting me at ease. I have not experienced any pain through a couple of procedures and in fact during my last visit I was so relaxed I almost fell asleep whilst having a filling! I'm not changing Dentists again.

Fantastic experience: Fabulous practice with calming aesthetic and dentists who are professional and kind. I had a root canal procedure with Dr Adrian Jones and his assistant. I can't speak highly enough of their professionalism, communication, attention to detail and efficiency. It was a pain free experience and if I had to do it again (hopefully not) I would choose Adrian again without hesitation. Thank you

Positive experience: The hygienists are very thorough and empathetic. Recently had a new dentist, James ,who was excellent in every way. However it's is impossible to get a hygienist appointment at short notice. They are booked up months in advance....probably because they are so good!

Fantastic experience: I recently visited this Clinic on Saturday due some emergency toothache and the reception team was so kind that they provided an immediate appointment with Dr. Anam Yusuf. Fantastic experience: I was very upset when I first presented at the dentist as I knew I had to have 4 front teeth out. Anam Yueuf calmed me down, then the following appointment I had my teeth extracted excellent no pain. I then had temporary teeth for 6 months now have permanent ones perfect. A big thank you Anam.

Fantastic experience: I have been forced away from my long term NHS dentistry provider in Swindon and that made me rethink about how I was looking after my teeth. I have not looked after them and have had so much work done in the past. My first visit to Ock Street Clinic was to get a second opinion as I started looking around Abingdon at the recommended choices, and I really appreciated the honesty and empathy afforded to me. Dr Anam Yusuf proposed her treatment plan and not only did I go for that, I'm already quite a way through it already, due to the ease of getting appointments. All the staff I have come across in the practise seem lovely and polite - as someone who is not that keen on dentistry, this matters. I recommend this place and my wife made the same switch based on my experience there so far.

Fantastic experience: Both the clinical and the administrative staff are friendly and very professional. Communication about appointments is excellent and my wife and I have always been seen on time. The clinic is always spotlessly clean. I had had a number of implants before moving to Oxfordshire and Dr Andrew Hall who has taken me on is in a league of his own, and Dr Yusef is equally excellent for non implant work. A definite 5 star rating without any reservations!

Fantastic experience: I arrived feeling very sorry for myself with a badly chipped front tooth. I left just over an hour later with my tooth repaired as good as new. I cannot thank the team at the Ock Street Clinic enough. They were professional and efficient and the dental work was first class. I am beyond thrilled to be able to smile with confidence again in time for Christmas and not be restricted to sipping tentatively through a straw!

Fantastic experience: Dr Kanas and her team are excellent Dental Practitioners. Individual Care Plans are determined by minimising pain (if any). The Hygienists and Dental Nurses give superb support. The Reception Team welcome Patients whilst arranging complex appointments. The facilities are to Airline First Class lounge standard, with soothing background music. All designed to reduce stress for patients.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful clinic. All staff are extremely helpful and cheerful. The clinic itself is very stylish with cosy seating and calming music. Easy to find with a plenty street parking just 2 minutes away. My dentist is very caring, makes me feel comfortable and works to perfection. Fantastic experience: After a terrible experience at a previous dentist, I was quite nervous about going again. Thankfully, multiple recommendations led me to Ock Street Dentist, and I'm incredibly grateful that I made the choice. Dr. Yusuf's care was a world apart from my previous ordeal. Fantastic experience: I found Ock Street dentist by looking on line when my wife developed an abscess, they couldn't have been more helpful fitting my wife in at very short notice to see a dentist. Antibiotics prescribed and an appointment made to rid her of the offending teeth. She was very comfortable with the whole thing which made me make sign up and make an appointment and whilst very nervous as it had many years since my last appointment again I couldn't have been more impressed with the staff and the brilliant dentist who put me at my ease and we now have a programme and hopefully I will smile again without being self conscious!

Fantastic experience: I have had three visits to the clinic and have been assigned to Anam Yusuf who has explained the treatment needed very clearly. So far I have had two extractions which have given me minimum discomfort. I feel very confident about my treatment.

Negative experience: Left nhs dentist, went to Ock St, “needed” 2 fillings replaced. Very painless experience. One filling started to be sensitive, then very painful. Suspecting infection, called surgery on Friday, could see me until Tuesday. Got too painful, went to nhs out of hours, infection, gave me antibiotics. Returned to dentist, was told root canal may need in house specialist, or extraction by another in house specialist. Needed to decide quickly! Reception gave me appointment for the end of September. I said it’s August now and tooth is painful. Reply: It’s nearly September! Tooth became too painful, out of hours nhs, tooth extracted! My Ock St dentist was going to charge me £50 to refer me to in house colleague. Plus other costs. Nice loos, furniture and classical music, caring treatment though? Lost a tooth that was not giving me problems and 10 days of pain. Still I lost 5lbs in weight on the Ock Street Dental diet! Just wasn’t lucky I guess?

Fantastic experience: I was recommended Ock Street Clinic when we moved to the area, the level of care I have experienced here is fantastic. My daughter has had some complex orthodontist work and everything has worked out. The best thing here is you can get an appointment to suit your schedule and I have even been able to rearrange at relatively short notice, the front of house team are an asset to the business and make you feel welcomed and relaxed.

Fantastic experience: Very very positive experience. As a child, a trip to the dentist always meant fear and pain, something that, as an adult, I avoided for many many years, until it became unavoidable due to a persistent toothache. And at that point, I was fortunate to contact the Ock Street Clinic, where, over the last decade or so, I've had a few fillings, three (long overdue) wisdom teeth removed, and, just recently the extraction of a broken tooth, none of which have involved any fear or any pain. It may seem too much to say so, but, due to the friendliness (and professionalism) of all the staff, - receptionists, hygienists, nurses and of course the dentists themselves - it has been and continues to be a pleasure to go to the dentist at Ock Street Clinic.

Fantastic experience: I have just finished having my teeth straightened with Invisalign at the Ock Street Clinic. I have been a patient here for a number of years. I have great confidence in my dentist Ellen Rider and decided that I would like her to supervise my treatment. Although I might have got a cheaper quote for the treatment from an Invisalign provider I was more comfortable with my own dentist. I felt that my own dentist, Ellen Rider, would have the overall health of my teeth a priority, not just going for the quickest results. The treatment has taken a year and I am delighted with the outcome. My teeth are straighter but have still retained their individuality. In fact two members of my family are now having their teeth straightened after seeing the results of my treatment.

Fantastic experience: For many years, we have always found the Ock Street clinic to be both professionally excellent and personally friendly and welcoming - not many people would say that a dentist’s surgery is a pleasurable experience but this as good as it gets. However, this review is aiming higher as we wish to express our gratitude for the continuation of services at this practice over the troubled period everyone has experienced. We have a few health problems such that we need to be especially carefully to avoid covid infection, yet we have never felt uncomfortable waiting in or being attended to at the Ock Street clinic during this time. And the staff have been amazingly cheerful and hard working. Such a testament to their sincerity in wanting to help patients. I have expressed my thanks to them but I am happy to share my view with other people as well.

I was put into the very capable hands of Dr Tamsin Keene and was immediately impressed with her empathy, her ability and her dedication to her profession. She really is the best Dentist I have ever known. I am back again, this time for reconstructive work and once again, in the very capable hands of Dr Keene and her seriously able side-kick, Claire. Fantastic experience: Such a positive experience. Very professional and caring. Treatment has been excellent. Extraction and small bridge fitted whilst waiting for an implant. The bridge is wonderful and you cannot tell that it is “false”. Dr Bozena Kanas has been outstanding and I would highly recommend the Ock Street Clinic.
