Fantastic experience: What a fantastic experience I had at Hilltop Dental Practice. On entering the practice I received a warm welcome from the practice receptionist, Sue. I was offered a drink and a place to sit whilst I waited for my appointment. The waiting area is immaculate and there is a selection of warm drinks or water. I had my dental check up with Sarah-Jayne who was so friendly and attentive to my needs, making sure I was comfortable and talking me through the entire process. The care she offered was fantastic and very thorough and I felt very at ease in the chair! I came back for a hygienist appointment with Amy and Irmina and again, I could not fault the care I received. They talked me through the whole process and gave great advice on what I could do at home to receive the best results. Thank you so much Hilltop Dental! Overall, a brilliant dental practice with a team that are truly dedicated in helping their patients. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: From being an extremely nervous patient, who had tooth pain so was forced to face my fear. To a patient that now does not dread the dentist! Sarah-Jane and the team have been extremely patient and provide a calming practice. From the welcoming reception to the relaxed calming environment of the dentist room. All of which have been a great help for me to feel comfortable. Being able to take the treatment at my pace and knowing what is going on step by step has been a game changer. The calming view from the room and the music has helped relax me. I must also thank Harry the hygienist who makes it feel like a spa treatment. His calming, kind and gentle approach has changed my view on the hygienist treatment! I can not recommend the dentist highly enough! They are just amazing!

My 7-year-old son was seen for treatment and the team were absolutely amazing with him – so patient, kind, and reassuring throughout. I am trans and all the staff were very respectful and kind, receptionist is super sweet and my dentist was very professional and informative, and wanted the best for me as a patient. My tooth extraction was 100% painless, and i will definitely go again.

Fantastic experience: I had developed a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist due to not going for a few years and developing some dental problems along the way. The receptionist Sue is exceptional and eased any nerves I had immediately upon entering the building. She made sure everything went well during the appointment and how I was feeling and if there’s anything they can do to improve to let them know! My initial appointment was with Fredrik. I have a hearing loss and he did part of the appointment without a mask on so I was able to lip read properly. I also have autism and he took all procedures to make sure I had a positive experience with him. For my hygienist appointment I had Amy and she gave me a demo on electric toothbrushes so I could test them before deciding to buy such an expensive toothbrush. I had a lot of buildup on the back of my teeth that I was very conscious about and she completely removed everything and I’ve left feeling the most confident I’ve ever been about my teeth! They really seem to care about their patients wellbeing and just want the best outcome possible for them, I have a filling due with Frederik and couldn’t feel more at ease about it. Couldn’t recommend them more!

Fantastic experience: I recently came to Hilltop for a check up with Sarah-Jayne who was lovely and took time to thoroughly explain the health of my teeth and highlight the need to address a tooth with severe decay. The team were quick to arrange the follow up appointment with Fred, who was really good. I'm a fairly nervous patient but Fred was friendly and relaxed which put me at ease and the whole process was extremely efficient. I would highly recommend Fred and the wider practice to friends and family alike.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic dental practice that has helped me overcome a serious phobia. I made the staff aware of my fears when I registered and their response and support has been outstanding. I had previously only managed to go to the dentist a handful of times between age 10-50 (and required IV sedation for treatment) but now, two years later, I am able to attend regular hygiene appointments and checkups without having panic attacks or crying with fear.

Fantastic experience: My son has an accident and broke a tooth. My dentist was poor and could not give an appointment for 2 weeks privately or 6 weeks NHS. Hilltop called me with a cancellation the next morning. John took a lot of time getting it right and when my son got in the car and looked in the mirror he said it was better than before he had broken it. Thank you for fitting us in and the quality of care and craftmanship.

Fantastic experience: Previously I have had a horrible phobia of the dentist, however John put me at ease as I felt absolutely nothing at all. And I feel I have been able to conquer my fear of the dentist.

Fantastic experience: I needed to change my dentist and knew I needed some major dental work but I struggle to overcome the fear of going hence the need for my dental work! From the first enquiry email I sent I knew I would be looked after. Sue on reception is your first point of contact and her compassion and friendly manner make your feel welcome and perhaps breathe a bit easier. Sarah-Jane the dentist was wonderful. Taking her time to explain what she was doing, asking if I was OK and stopping regularly so things did not feel overwhelming. The dental nurses were fabulous too but particularly Alina who gave a comforting hand and a squashy lizard during a particularly tough time. Many thanks to you all.

We decided to come to Hilltop again as our daughter came here previously too. It all went smoothly and he didn’t feel rushed or worried at all. Fantastic experience: I’ve recently had quite complex dental work including several implants which required close liaison with my orthodontist and John. John was happy to explain every stage of the process putting my mind at ease that I was making the right decisions at each stage of the process . He and the team at Hilltop worked hard to make sure my experience was as comfortable as possible and my treatment plan was kept on track. Sue in reception has also been fantastic in managing my numerous appointments and is always a very friendly face. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the practice for both routine but also complex dental work.

Sue - their receptionist - is very kind, friendly, and does her very best to find the most suitable time for me for the treatments, and support any way she can. The sign up process was quick and easy, all his treatment options were explained so he could make an informed decision, every time he goes there's a lovely warm greeting. Fantastic experience: I have been going to this dentist for some time and am always happy with the experience. I find Sarah-Jane is a very patient and knowledgeable dentist and always puts me at ease, and Amy is the best hygienist I have ever been to at any practice. The whole team are very welcoming and professional. It is a bit of a journey from where I live but I would not want to go anywhere else.

Even having changed hands, it still feels the same; Sue the receptionist is so welcoming and Sarah-Jayne as my new dentist is very kind and understands how to make me feel at ease. Fantastic experience: Best dentist I’ve ever used. Very gentle and thorough, has sorted out my teeth that my previous dentist ignored.

Positive experience: I've only had three sessions at the Hilltop Dental Practice so the comments that follow are more initial impressions rather than an in-depth appraisal. The practice appears to be well-organised, with staff who take medical histories carefully and remember these details at the next session. I particularly liked the way they take time to explain treatment options and to educate patients on oral care between treatments. Both the dentist and hygienist I see appear to be well-trained, experienced and caring. One can't help feeling, however, that they would be even more effective with better equipment. For example, the practice doesn't seem to have a CT scanner for 3-D imaging or even intra-oral cameras (to take photos of teeth to show to patients before and after treatment). Such equipment is now pretty standard in many other developed countries and it's greatly to be hoped it will become more widespread in British dental practices. Overall, my impression is that the Hilltop Dental Practice is friendly, treats patients well and provides a relatively good level of service.

Fantastic experience: Always a friendly greeting from the receptionist ( Sue ). There is a calm atmosphere throughout the surgery. John Caldwell is knowledgeable, understanding and attentive to his patients.

Fantastic experience: Recommend Hilltop dental. Been a patient over twelve years under Wendy until she retired now with Sarah Jayne. I'm a very anxious patient but today I had a tooth removed first time in years. I can honestly say I did not feel the injection which is usually the worst part and the extraction went well with no pain. Sarah Jayne talked me through it which made me feel very calm which took my anxiety away. If your anxious about dentistry do try Hilltop and go along and have a chat.

Initially I went there to have an extraction, which could have been tricky, but all went smoothly. After a check-up she worked hard to successfully save a back tooth and recommended that I made an appointment with Kelly the hygienist, also very pleased with her treatment. Fantastic experience: Dr Caldwell has been my dentist for many years. He is, by some way, the best dentist I have ever been treated by. I could go to a dentist much closer to home but I am more than happy to travel to see him. He takes great care to do a first class job and explains everything clearly. Amongst his skills is the ability to give injections that you do not feel which I appreciate greatly. Everyone I have met at the practice is friendly and efficient. The practice environment is superb, very modern and relaxing.

Fantastic experience: From the warm welcome you get when you walk in the door from Sue. To the kind and supportive attitude from John (the dentist). The team here are next level and worth the price for unprecedented care and treatment. I'm not scared of dental procedures but I have had a generally bad experience with other dentists so it was a massive relief to have such a different one here. If you can afford it I couldn't recommend them enough.

Fantastic experience: I had been looking for a new dentist practise for a while but I’m absolutely terrified of the dentist so was really reluctant to sign up anywhere. I saw from their sign outside that they were accepting new patients so I took the plunge and went in to register. I met Sue on reception who was extremely helpful and explained that both dentists are very good with managing anxious patients, she gave me all the information I needed and was really helpful with the sign up process. Not only was Sue helpful to begin with she has contacted me after my first few appointments just to check in, make sure I’m okay, and check to see if I had any follow up questions. I’ve had each of my appointments with John. Throughout each of my appointments John has really put me at ease and always explained everything in a clear way. He’s always explained what he was doing before doing it and has been really helpful in making a plan. I was terrified to begin with but having registered with Hilltop has made going to the dentist that less scary for me and somewhat easier.

I have had a check-up and some deep cleaning work done so far. All of the staff I have seen have been very friendly, caring, and professional. I am very pleased I joined this practice.

Fantastic experience: I cannot stress enough how terrified I was to see a dentist again. After reading the positive reviews and especially recommendations for Sarah Jayne's treatment of nervous patients, I knew she would be the one for me. I feel with Sarah Jayne, I have had therapy along with the painless appointments of two extractions, treatment and advice for gum disease, all without sedation, I might add! From the moment I walked in to make my first appointment with lovely Sue on reception, my fears and anxiety were eased greatly. Everyone is so caring and understanding. I am a 74 year old pensioner and what I am paying for professional, private treatment is money well spent which I would have no choice to pay out for car maintenance or repairs and this is how I justify the cost. I cannot recommend highly enough.

They always manage to make appointments work around my work schedule and always remember every customers name no matter how often you have appointments, which is very warming, showing that they really do care about their patients. I had 3 wisdom teeth removed due to a crowded mouth in 2022 and was able to undergo the procedure here under sedation meaning I felt no pain at all during the operation! I would always recommend Hilltop Dental practice to anyone looking for a top rated dental practice who can be trusted to take the upmost care of their patients!

Fantastic experience: I used to go to an NHS Dentist in Shirley. I moved here as they tried to sign me up to Denplan but I thought I could go private - best move I ever made. Been going since Feb 2023 - I thought my NHS dentist was good until my eyes were opened. I used to get a clean and polish every 18 months on the NHS. I’ve seen the hygienist three times now and apart from one tooth which isn’t bad, all is good. The service from reception, Sarah Jane my dentist and the Hygienist is superb. I might be paying a bit more now but it’s worth every penny. The NHS Dentist was taking my money and doing the bare minimum - my wife was told her teeth were fine but she needed three appointments for treatment before she could join Denplan.
