Negative experience: I tried to book an dental appointment the other day. I've recently been having an oral issue and asked if they could help. Only to be then told they couldn't help any more, since they had removed me from their list for not attending for over 2 years. I've been a patient at the Old School Dentist for over 20 years under the care of Dr Wint, along with my wife and two children. I'll freely admit I tend to use the Dentist service when I need them. I've had many, many visits over the years and spent significant money, always paid my bills before I left, always consummately polite and always appreciative with Dr Wint's skills, time and professionalism. I understand after not attending for over 2 years, you can remove me. But really, no email, no letter or phone call to clearly state what your intentions were. You have all my contact details there's no reason not to contact me. If I wished to end a 20 year relationship with someone, I'd have the common decency to correctly communicate this to the other party. Just taking me off the your list seems completely unreasonable. Not to mention the morality of just removing care with zero communication to the patient, I find it unbelievable. Incidentally my 2 year eye test is due with Vision Express, over the last 5 days I've had a txt message, an email and also a postal letter. So, my hopes of a quick appointment or even a future appointment to help me, was no longer possible with my dentist that knows my 20+ years history. Ironically, I was offered a different number for another dentist operating upstairs and they were taking new NHS patients. BUT, only when you've paid for a private assessment ranging from £65-95 first, oh and wait 3 months for the appointment. My wife, equally disgusted, rang to complain. She's awaiting a call from the Practice Manager
Negative experience: Rubbish service, called looking for an emergency appointment, been told nothing available. The dentist does not accept new patients, especially NHS, says closed their books 2 years ago and struggling to book appointments for the registered patients.

Unfortunately, due to ongoing capacity pressures and in order to maintain safe, timely care for our existing patients, we made the difficult decision some time ago to close our list to new registrations, including NHS patients.
We understand how frustrating it can be to need an appointment and not be able to secure one, but this is not a reflection of the level of care we aim to provide, it is about ensuring we do not overextend our resources and compromise care for those already under our care.

Fantastic experience: I have been with Martin Wint for many years. My family, including three grandchildren are also his patients. He is an excellent dentist with a professional and kind approach. He has a most reassuring bedside manner that gently prepares one for the next part of the procedure - something that a ‘nervous’ patient can be particularly grateful for. I actually stayed with practice when we moved house because Martin is worth travelling quite a few miles to see.

Fantastic experience: I've been fearful of visiting the dentist for many years, but that all changed when I discovered Old Square Dental practice, especially Dr. Wint. The atmosphere at this practice is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and I now actually look forward to my visits there. The reception staff are always helpful and friendly, and the practice nurses I've encountered have a wonderful way of putting you at ease. As for Dr. Wint, I can't praise his professionalism and ability to make patients feel comfortable in the chair enough. A five-star rating hardly seems sufficient to express how highly I would recommend this practice!

Fantastic experience: My dentist Mr Wint is amazingly skilled, he makes you feel really comfortable and at ease . The surgery is a lovely place to have dental work and cosmetic work done . A friendly professional atmosphere with the best dentists and dental nurses I have came across .

Fantastic experience: First class dentist
Negative experience: I’m absolutely baffled by what has just happened. We are new to the area & registered with this dentist in September. It is now nearly march. We have had 2 previous appointments cancelled - 1 due to the dentist being unwell (ok these things happen). 2 because he decided to go on holiday ( ok hey ho). We have just arrived for our 3rd booked appointments (me then my husband) to be told he will not see either of us because we were 3 mins late (the road they are on is closed & we were diverted hence the 3 minute delay). I think this is disgraceful. My guess is he has patients sitting in his waiting room for longer than 3 minutes & they don’t cancel him. Is it because we were registering as NHS patients & not private? I guess we are not deemed the right sort of clientele, not paying him enough to be bothered to see us? I feel so sorry for the receptionist who had to deliver the news the dentist is too arrogant to see even one of us. She did go ask him if could see 1 of us but it was an unequivocal ‘no’. Do not grace this practice with your custom!
Fantastic experience: Had an emergency appointment. Jenny and Rob were absolutely amazing, they treated me with kindness and compassion and provided an exemplary service. I cannot speak highly enough of the treatment received and professionalism of both of them, an absolute credit to the profession and would without hesitation recommend Jenny, Rob and the practice. Negative experience: Been with this practice for 57 years and being asked to pay £25 for a consultation as my previous dentist had retired, disgusting, stated that I had not been for a while but due to looking after my elderly mother and husband who has had cancer during covid, why would I put them at risk, get grip on reality, not your purse strings - Now you say you can't find me as a patient 57 YEARS - I have been attending - 57 YEARS !!!! and you can't find find me on your patient list, what is going wrong with this very valuable service in previous years

Fantastic experience: Staff are always friendly and I was seen in great time for my last appointment. I have always felt very welcome every time I have been in and over all I am satisfied with the treatment I have received.
Fantastic experience: First time visiting this dentist. The staff made me feel very comfortable. I was hesitant because I had visited another dentist in the area earlier in the year, and it was a less than pleasant experience. I have already booked for my next apt and am happy to say I have found my dentist for as long as I live in Warwick. Thank you old square!

Positive experience: Edit: Another star added. This practice has improved greatly since covid, tbh I think the pandemic was needed to give it that much needed kick into the 21st century. They've actually now got new dentist chairs! They took my email address so they can email me reminders! The receptionists are really helpful and I've just seen Mohinder, the hygienist, who was excellent. I can't comment on fillings etc as I don't have any but the running of the practice is 10 times better now. Edit: I've added one star. They are now seeing patients again for check ups. They also appear now - miracle of miracles - to have a computer based diary! They also now take card payments! I'd also like to make it clear that the dentists (and we've seen many come and go over the years) have always been good, for me anyway. Mr Panesar who we see at the moment seems very honest, recommending that I only come once a year. And he's brilliant with my kids. Original post: I do find it strange how they don't accept card payments in this day and age. They have no computer system, literally an old fashioned paper diary. If you forget when your appointment is then they have to go through the diary page by page. It's like stepping back in time. My kids' check ups have been postponed three times because of covid, apparently because they are prioritising emergencies but I'm starting to wonder when they will ever resume normal service. But they still were fine for me to see the hygienist but not have a check up with the dentist.
Fantastic experience: Very little wait. Usual friendly welcome. Just shocked by the cost of a tiny filling. A down side of the three tier NHS price plan.
Fantastic experience: After struggling to find an NHS dentist in central Warwick, I was greeted amazingly and signed up with no issue at all. Had my first appointment there, in and out within 30 minutes, with amazing, sensitive and attentive service. Really helpful with my apprehension. Would highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Knowing that the phone lines are usually busy here (as they are with most places these days)I dropped the surgery an email. I received a prompt, professional reply and phone call which enabled me to re-register and book an appointment.
Negative experience: Rating this practice a 1 star. The fact I have called twice and had to wait 39 & 43 minutes before my phone hangs up from waiting so long to try and get an appointment. I even drove up and knocked door for nobody to answer 3 times is beyond me. How is it impossible to get an appointment.
Negative experience: I share my feelings with many of the other negative reviews about this Dental Practice. I feel extremely let down by them after turning up for a double appointment for myself and my daughter today. We were just a couple of minutes late which I did apologise and admit to due to a new one way road system that has been put in place around Warwick that I wasn’t aware of as I don’t live in Warwick only to be told as your late we can’t see you. Baring in mind this was a double appointment, I understood this up to a point and therefore offered to forfeit my own appointment if they could please go ahead and just see my daughter for her appointment instead to which the answer was still a blunt no! I can’t express how unreasonable this treatment was and am deeply disappointed that I now feel I no longer wish to attend this practice and will be going elsewhere. The only reason I ended up registering here in the first place was so that I could still see the Dentist I had been going to since I was a child as he transferred here after working at a different practice some years ago and whom I was very happy with so am extremely sad that the experience I have had today from the young lady on reception has impacted so negatively. In response to the response from the “owner” below, I would like to reiterate I definitely was not 9 minutes late and can verify I did not receive the day before any communication whatsoever from the practice about the COVID protocol. I don’t appreciate being undermined as a patient, it was only 2 minutes late by my watch which still allowed time for my appointment to be forfeited and for you to see my 13 year old daughter. Don’t try to make yourselves look better than you are and thank you for the offer of rebooking my appointment but since your dishonest reply I even more intent on going elsewhere.
Dear Mrs Perry, We are sorry for your feelings towards this matter . You were informed the day before of our strict Covid protocols and told if you were late you would not be seen . You were in fact 9 minutes late as all times are logged . As a result you were not allowed into the building and this is to reduce the chances of patients coming into contact with one another for obvious reasons . We will not under any circumstance put our staff and patients at increased risk . We have a system in place that is there to try to keep us all safe and if someone turns up late , they cant be accommodated . You were turned away for safety and hope you can appreciate this ?
We are happy to rebook you for another appointment and i hope this clears the matter as to why you were not seen .
Old Square Dental Practice.
Positive experience: My partner came into ask for help on his broken back tooth in agony 2 weeks + ago.. to pay for an extraction and be seen by another dental practice !! 2 weeks later he can’t open his mouth we were promised 3 call backs today and nothing ! We also found out that none of his paperwork was sent over to cape rd clinic to have the extraction done.... disgusted and appalled beyond words ...
Negative experience: I’d used these dentists as my daughter was friends with the daughter of the dentist who first set up the practice until about 3 years ago (I was with them maybe 15 years or more) and always found my dentist excellent. He retired .....and I was passed to a new one who I found abrasive with his skills questionable. I complained. Asked if another was available and sharply told no. I then missed an appointment due to illness and when I phoned to apologise they told me they would no longer treat me as I’d missed 4 appointments over the years. Untrue except for that one occasion ... I always phoned and cancelled. But my feeling was it was about my complaint. They didn’t like it. Very disappointed to say the least. Front of house also unfriendly and antiquated record system on cards not computer. How they keep proper records is beyond me. And after my experiences I would not recommend
Fantastic experience: Had my first post Covid visit for repair work on tooth and crown. Martin and the team were great, very professional and explained everything start to finish, the night before the appointment and then during the visit. probably first time in a dentist chair with no pain !
Fantastic experience: The dentist I see is pleasant, friendly, professional and honest. He tells you if a treatment isn't right for you, even if the one he is recommending is cheaper, so he's clearly not just after the money. He describes everything he's doing as he's doing it and he and his dental nurse clearly have a happy professional relationship. I moved to Northampton 5 years ago, but am still happy to travel to Warwick for my dental care. I don't think I'd get better anywhere else.
Negative experience: Really bad. Doesn't listen just hangs up. Wife is pregnant and in pain. She was referred to this dentist by 111.
Negative experience: I found them rude and un-attentive I suffer from anxiety and when visiting last week was told the dentist I usually see had left and I’d be seeing someone new which throw me off but after being with the practise for about 6 years I thought it would be ok as they had always be really good with me and my nerves. When entering the dentists room I tried to explain I was very nerves and was tutted at was than examined and was asked did I use a electric toothbrush which I didn’t (I do now) was then told I hadn’t been looking after my teeth properly and had slight gum disease when I asked what I could do to sort this I was told why bother now you haven’t bothered before and was practically pushed out the door will be finding a new dentist as I don’t feel comfortable going back

Negative experience: Will be moving surgerys since my dentist left i have been past on to two others who i find rude, in a rush to do your treatment and treatment very poor 3 times the filling i needed done has fell out sick of going back just to pay more money for something they couldn't properly fix in the first place would not reccomend.
Positive experience: Don't try and contact by phone - I have rung repeatedly well within opening hours (supposedly 8.30am till 4) and got a 'this practice is now closed' message every time. At 3.30 in the afternoon? 11 in the morning? They are friendly and helpful when you go in so I do not understand why they make it so difficult to get hold of them!
