Kew Surgery & Dental Practice: Reviews

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing and wonderful. My GP is simply exceptional sadly I'm not allowed to to mention names, however I highly recommend kew surgery doctors, nurses and staff. They are professional, prompt , very supportive, patient and best of all, kind.
Fantastic experience: We changed to Kew Surgery when our previous surgery closed. I cannot fault any part of the service provided from receptionist to nurses and doctors it’s been a first class service
Negative experience: The receptionists are so chill but the General practitioners (professionals) are terrible. If I get blood tests, they would never send my results back. Unless I give them a call. I have been trying to get a diagnosis for my eczema but the doctor/primary care physician at the time just gave me steroid creams which didn't reduce the inflammations long term. VERY DISAPPOINTING. The referrals could be better but it's not bad. Recently, I have been unregistered from Kew surgery for some unknown reason. Another red flag! Please CQC please inspect this GP surgery again.
Fantastic experience: Always find the Receptionist staff extremely helpful and Dr Dominica especially is lovely - always very thorough and genuinely listens to concerns and sends for appropriate tests. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be on a waiting list for surgery and the problem wouldn't have been picked up. Genuinely have had nothing but compassion from the Doctors and admin staff and even the 8 am scramble doesn't tend to lead to disappointment anymore. Definitely improved from years ago. I'm very grateful for them as a whole.
Fantastic experience: The receptionist at Kew Surgery is very friendly and helpful, and Dr. Peter is also professional and attentive.
Fantastic experience: Since we moved from Sussex to Southport in 2013 we have all been delighted to be with Kew Dental Practice. Mr Ayers is a total genius and managed to sort out a chipped front tooth the day after my father died, has repaired teeth that I did not believe anyone could repair and has even convinced my granddaughter that becoming a dentist is an option. His patience and skill are amazing and our family are so lucky to have discovered him.
Fantastic experience: The receptionists are so friendly and helpful and go out of their way to help you. The Doctors are great too, especially Dr Peter. Honestly can’t fault this surgery and have been very pleased with the service I’ve received here.
Fantastic experience: Had appointment booked at 2.30pm today but had busy day and came down to surgery to ask if could have appointment in the morning. The staff where amazing and got me one at 9.50am. Really pleased and appreciate help. Thank you
Negative experience: Terrible surgery if you need an appointment don't bother better call out of hrs or 111 pointless
Fantastic experience: I have been with this surgery for over 20 years now and I have to say I’ve never had a bad experience. I’ve always got an appointment with no problems, the staff from Reception to the GP’s and nursing staff have all been excellent, friendly and courteous. I hear so many bad comments about other surgery’s and I have only good things to say about Kew Surgery. So blessed to have this service in our community.
Fantastic experience: Been with the surgery 26 years, they’ve always gone above and beyond for me and my conditions. I’ve had a few gripes before but always ironed out and resolved by Kew surgery. I’ve dealt with Donna many times and she is not your ‘stereotypical’ GP receptionist, she always listens and tries to help as best as she can, Lisa has also been wonderful. I always used to see Dr Todd who was amazing but is no longer there, now I usually see Dr Newman or Claire the ANP both fantastic, attentive and very well educated professionals, I saw Dr Peter today who also was great. Dr Halina when available has always been fantastic, straight to the point and knows exactly what she’s doing. Thankyou Kew surgery keep working hard
Negative experience: One of the receptionists is extremely rude and shouldn't be in the job the male gp I seen didn't seem interested at all seems like they are doing you a favour needs closing down think they forget people pay a tax for this awful service worst one I've ever been too
Fantastic experience: Clean and professionally run
Fantastic experience: Brilliant Practice. Professional Staff. Well done. Especially Donna.
Positive experience: Although I couldn't see a doctor,I was very impressed with Claire one of the practice nurses ,problem sorted,a test and results ,antibiotics ordered, within 48 hours. Think you. Also young Polish lady on reception was very pleasant.
Fantastic experience: From reception to doctors 10/10 caring and understanding
Negative experience: If you can go to an alternatively surgery, please do.
Negative experience: Rude and useless! I don't know who the receptionists think they are. My medication is out of stock everywhere, so I went in early this morning to request an alternative as I'd ran out (not the receptionists fault I know). I don't know her name but she couldn't seem less interested, told me she'd do it once she could get back on the computer and to call back this afternoon. Called back and spoke to a different receptionist who said the request hadn't been put in, she'd do it whilst I was on the phone but there was no guarantee the doctor would see it or do it. So now I'm left without my medication and they have no idea when it will be back in stock. I've been a patient for over a year and I've never been able to see an actual doctor. Don't value their patients at all.
Fantastic experience: Found the reception staff especially helpful, I spoke to one on the 22/12/21 didnt get her name, sorry, but was si helpful , polite, and very efficient.
Negative experience: Patient abandonment, due to not being able to wear a mask because of PTSD and heart condition.
Negative experience: Only given 1 star as I can’t give any lower. There are a handful of staff members that are ok. Majority are rude and unhelpful especially most of the receptionists. 99% of them think they have PHD’s and unfortunately it’s the patients who take the brunt of their hate for life. I’ve had dealings with 2 doctors who shouldn’t be doctors, I’ve found that the locum or step in doctors are usually the most helpful and nice to deal with. I’ve been spoken to down to, belittled and made to believe my own chronic conditions are anything but that. I’m only with this surgery as there are nomore in Southport that I’ve heard any better about. Some staff such as 2 receptionists I think their names are Donna and Cristina? and one of the advanced nurses (I don’t know her name) are amazing and I couldn’t fault. It’s a shame that most of the clinic let them down. The ability to get an appointment is also shocking. They only have around 15 slots per morning and then afternoon and that’s to be shared amongst the god knows how many patients needing help. Failing clinic.
Negative experience: Mixed feelings about this surgery some staff very helpful but some reception staff very rude need to work on there telephone manner and customer service skills
Fantastic experience: Very good experience in this surgery recently. The reception team have been super helpful. The AMP has also been very helpful even though it was just through telephone appointments throughout covid. Dr Todd has put a plan in place for my medical issue straight away. They look after you well and don’t let anything little slip away, you can’t fault this GP in any way.
Negative experience: My mum came out nearly crying after seeing Dr Todd. He was so rude to her and has been since she's seen him! So much so she's thinking about changing doctors! I used to go to the same doctors but changed due to never being able to get an appointment! After being away for 6weeks and having some pretty scary medical problems while she's been away she was told she couldn't talk about more than one problem per appointment, well its hard enough to even get one appointment nevermind 2! So discusted that my mum has come out in such a state after asking advice from someone who is supposed to be there to help! I would advise to steer clear!
Negative experience: Disgraceful. Rude, arrogant and unprofessional. I personally live on the kew estate however I have changed my practice and I now have to travel 3 times the distance to travel just to avoid that place.
Fantastic experience: Warm welcome on every visit. Staff and doctors very friendly. All my queries addressed in a professional manner. Would definatley recommend this practise. Keep up the outstanding work all.
Fantastic experience: My visits to Kew Surgery have always been very positive. I have to say Dr Obuchowicz has really looked after my medical needs and I've always found her to be very approachable and professional. The locums and practice nurses are very good too. They use the phone app Patient Access which is great for repeat prescriptions and appointments. Overall more than happy to commend them.
Negative experience: Avoid this doctors surgery at all costs. Dr Obuchowicz is arrogant and unprofessional, and will not listen to concerns raised by patients. My wife has a rare and serious condition, and simply has not been looked after by this doctor. Yet again she has come home in tears following an appointment with this GP. Dr Obuchowicz does not read medical notes properly. You have been warned.
Fantastic experience: The Dentist is first class, they are in the same building as the Drs but nothing to do with the Drs, the dental staff are second to none and always put you at ease and look after you, they are excellent
Negative experience: Doctors - Rude Receptionists doesn't make calling the doctors a nice experience and huffing down the phone at me doesn't put me in a good mood! On the plus side they have a nurse practitioner who is a credit to the surgery. Free Parking
Negative experience: They keep missing parts of my wife's repeat prescriptions so it's a constant battle when it's prescription time to get it done correctly. Latest mess has ended up with them handwriting a prescription but not knowing when the chemist will come and pick it up, receptionist suggested my wife phones chemist to find out when they come to collect, what sort of service is this! Receptionist should find this out for the customer, but you would think they would know this as we have now found they come Tuesday and Friday EVERY week! Clueless!!!
Negative experience: They never make my full repeat prescription in full I have to go back and ask again and again an they keep missing my diabetes Injections off my prescriptions am not happy an I am going to move doctors if it carries on
Positive experience: New surgery, integrated dentists. Free parking. Hospital is 2 minute walk away. But the reception is awful, with uncomfortable chairs, unreadable magazines and an soulless atmosphere.
