Negative experience: Very poor service! I was booked in for teeth whitening and when I turned up I was told the lady had rang in sick and the other was on holiday, I was a bit annoyed as I'd had a day off for the appointment, I did later find out the said lady was stuck in traffic as she had text me to say she would be late!!. I rearranged my appointment for the next week, I arrived and was told to sit and wait then the lady came and took me I to the room, she didn't even look at my teeth? Started to explain how it worked but spoke so fast I just had to work it out for myself, I was left alone and told if the machine goes off I had to sort the second tray out myself if she hadn't returned, she did come back and help me change trays, all the time talking to me when I couldn't reply as the tray was in my mouth! Then to be told I had to finish off myself and the leave when the machine had finished, she gave me a £10 note for the misunderstanding. I will not return again.

Fantastic experience: So for the last few years I have only ever taken my daughter to skin lab to get her piercings but on Sunday I lost a bet with my daughters saying if England won I would get my nose pierced obviously they won so had to get it done went on Monday to get it done and so far I’ve had no issues what so ever with it then today daughter got her tongue done all the piercings we have between us are from Jim at skin lab he very friendly cares enough to ensure you fully understand the after care instructions and also puts your mind at ease when doing your piercing thank you so much Jim sure we will be back soon enough

Fantastic experience: I have had several skin therapies done here. They have all been excellent, and good value for money. But I have recently started using the Sesderma range of facial moisturizers and serums they sell through the shop and have been amazed at how effective they have been. Within days of starting the skincare regime recommended to me by Cassie I can see a visible improvement to the skin on my face. Really impressed at how well they work. I have had compliments from family and friends, saying that my skin looks great and that I look as though I've had some kind of "work" done. I will be using these products in the future, for certain.

Fantastic experience: I got my left eyebrow and septum done. Was sweating buckets because I don’t do well with pain, turns out there wasn’t anything to worry about as the process was quick and painless (the sharp sting of the needle and it was over). Had watery eyes from the process but that’s it. And I’m really pleased with how it’s come out✨.

Fantastic experience: I had a problem with ear wax built-up just before Christmas..and a nurse at the Urgent Treatment Centre at the HRI had given me a list of places in Hull where they could unblock my ears..as the Hospital does not do it..and doctors at the GP don't do it either..due to last government cutting the funds for a number of health care issues at GPs and also at Walk-in Centres..No one could fit me in until the second week in January.25..so luckily I telephoned Skin Care Clinic, as it appeared on my list, although it did not say there that they did Ear Wax Removal , but they obviously did as they fit me in the same day I telephoned , as luckily they have had a cancellation on Sat. 21st Dec.24 at 11.45 a.m. I met Heather Blakeston who did the Ear Wax Removal for me on my right ear, as I have been putting ear drops only there but not on my left ear..I felt fantastic after she did it..Then she gave me a further appointment to do the left ear , which was also a little blocked, on Saturday 4th January.25..and also gave me a little bottle of olive oil which I had to use on my left ear for 7 days before the next appointment..to make possible the removal of wax..which she did using Electronic Ear Irrigation that flushes the wax out with warm water.. She charged less, in fact about half the price of what other places I had telephoned before wanted to charge..not only for the first appointment, but just one price for both appointments in this case as it was important to put the ear drops before the wax removal..I now have had wax removed from both ears..and the difference it has made is really amazing.. I would highly recommend Heather Blakestone's Skinlab Clinic..following my experience in the 2 appointments I had.. In my opinion she's kind, friendly, professional, efficient and very well qualified.. I know they offer a number of other services at this Skinlab Clinic..and I can only guess that they'll be as good and as professional as they have been with sorting out my problem.. and I also guess their prices would be very affordable compared with other places that may provide similar services.. Negative experience: Do not go here for a tattoo, i asked for a fine line shark which he did state wasn’t his forte but claimed he’d been tattooing for 20 years and was still happy to do it for me, unfortunately i’ve been left with multiple mistakes and slips as-well as thick uneven lines and when i messaged i got completely ignored twice for a reputable business the tattoo work and the service i’ve received is appalling .

Negative experience: I had appointment with Heather in skin lab clinic . She message me and said that she needs to reschedule my appointment for different day because of emergency. I replied that that's ok . She give me two different days to pick and I said Wednesday sounds good to me. When i got there first I was a bit confused that they were closing. I waited for her and said excuse me but I have an appointment with you 5.30 she replied" no you not " ! Well I said yes I have You message me other day and reschedule my appointment for today . She said " well I message loads of people and you are not in the book" ! Well I said you reschedule my appointment! She replied " oh well yeah ok ok come in then! At that point I did not longer wanted go for my appointment because of her rudeness so I turned around and said well no Thank you and walked away. Do not recommend her service . Waisted my time and Money .

Fantastic experience: 16 piercings done, all healed with no issues. Jim does an amazing job, professional at what he does and easy to be around. 26 tattoos by Amber, once again did a great job with each one. Very open about what she is able to do and is very friendly overall. Lazer hair removal by Heather, made sure i felt comfortable throughout the process, explained everything she was doing and is very affordable.

Fantastic experience: First of all I would like to say, who do you think you are? Where do you get off providing such great service? If I had to score you 1-10 of for being the worst I would score a 1 as you are not the worst! Secondly the staff. Don't even get me started about the staff! What amazing people so helpful and polite, as you have realised by now I have nothing but great things to say as this place is providing me with outstanding service for my lazy tattoo removal! It is a shame they cannot provide a service to make me taller but businesses can only do so much, Dictated but not read. 10/10 service

Had my tattoos done by Ebony for a few years now, she’s covered up things i didn’t think were possible and I know with her creativity I can give her an idea and let her run with it; love that she’s happy to freehand on most designs so they really are unique.

Leigh was really thorough, and Ebony was really fun to chat to whilst I was finishing up, really really good set of staff and will be going back

Fantastic experience: Amazing place, leigh completed my memorial tattoo they explained to me how the ashes were combined with the ink and gave me the remaining ink in a sealed bag so if me or any of my family want to use the ink again we have 6 months providing the bag seal is intact. Very professional service would highly recommend

Fantastic experience: I have a fair few tattoos but my favourites by far are those done by Ebony. She’s such an amazing artist and would literally have all of her flash work if I could. Ebony is also incredible at custom work and I cannot wait to get tattooed by her again. She is very welcoming, lovely and puts you at ease. Highly recommend getting tattooed by this absolute powerhouse of a tattooist

Negative experience: All in all I have had 8 piercings, two of them re-piercings. Two (left ear lobe and septum) done at Kathmandu, the rest were all done by yours truly. All healed wonderfully with no trouble. I got my labret done at Skinlab and was advised against the cleansing method I had been using and got given a saline solution in a spray bottle. Long story short it got really infected, first outside, then inside, then both and now it's at high risk of becoming a callus. I went to the doctors and they said leave the bar in and let it heal etc and gave me some antibiotics. The back of the piercing has healed INSIDE of my lip, it literally cannot come out. The state of it before that was horrendous that it allowed the back if the piercing to sit so far into my lip but it healed very quickly post doctors and is now just sat there inside my lip with no way out. So I'll now have to get a scalpel and cut my lip open to get this out one time. The staff weren't very forthcoming either, I did not feel welcome one bit. Please bare in mind that this comment (about the staff) isn't in spite of the bad piercing, they really do seem like they don't want you there. If you want a piercing, pay just a bit more and go to Kathmandu, it's more pricey for a reason, and they're really friendly! I'm not trying to cause grief to Skinlab with this review, but people need to know the risk they're putting themselves at. My cousin also had an infectious piercing from here too and heard of others. To the eye it seems very nice, tidy and sterile...but then again, you can't see germs.

Negative experience: went in for a nose piercing and the staff were lovely, very affordable and clean, however they pierced my nose using a piercing gun, anyone with even a base understanding of piercings knows that a gun should never be used for any piercing besides first and second lobes (even then it isn’t ideal and a needle is preferable). i didn’t get a chance to say no once seeing a gun was being used as by the time i noticed the piercing was done.

Positive experience: The place seemed very sterile and clean. Got my labret done there and I was in the little room for about 2 minutes. I was happy with everything and I am really chuffed with my piercing and how it looks and how well it was done. Only reason for the missing star is the guy who served me (very long beard with viking-like ringlets in his beard) was not very friendly. He didn't say anything offensive, but I felt extremely uncomfortable having my lip pierced by someone that ignored everything I said and seemed like they wanted me dead. When I left, even my friend who was there at the time commented on it without me mentioning anything prior. I always make sure to be as polite as possible when it comes to any interaction with people in a workplace but this man certainly hates interaction with everyone. If you go to get a piercing there, I'd advise to ask for anyone other than him to pierce you. I suffer with anxiety a lot and he made me feel very unwanted and unwelcome. My next piercing may have to be Kathmandu, the man who does piercings there is absolutely lovely! Don't let this put you off from the fact he did a great job though and that it was well priced at £20 as opposed to the usual £35 at most places. It all depends on how you feel about staff being unfriendly towards you. If you're in and out in 5 minutes like I was then it's not much if a problem to deal with....a tattoo would be a different story though.

Fantastic experience: I found Heather and the other members of staff very warm, professional and caring. She talked me through the treatment and its benefits and explained the process clearly. I had laser hair removal and it worked very well. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable the treatment was. I highly recommend Heather.

Negative experience: Poore communication with customer, rude staff on the front, just waisting 1 y my time for treatments and any results (lady self not really knew it what she doing) Finely I ask for refund, they give me refund but not even apologise. I went to professional salon so when I said everything they was in shock. Very unprofessional definitely not recommended. Not waist your time. Sorry.

Fantastic experience: I recently had a helix piercing elsewhere and was in alot of discomfort with it ,doctor suggested to take it out so i went to skinlab.Owner and staff was amazing and very sympathetic ,gave me advice on sterilizing it and aftercare ,it's slowly healing now and discomfort has gone cant recommend enough thankyou skinlab.
