Negative experience: I am disgusting with the way my son and husband have been treated over this past year. I recently contacted the practice to arrange an appointment for my 5 year old son who's crown has fallen off and needs to be put back on as it is causing him pain, there is also sharp cement left on the underneath of his tooth. I was told to bring him down on the 12th of July at 10.55am. Today I received a text to say that his appointment had been moved to the 27th of SEPTEMBER. After phoning the practice and coming down in person I was told that no one knows why his appointment was moved and that they can't even see the appointment on their system. The next available appointment was now the 26th of July. This is still two weeks away! I was also told my only other option was to bring him down for a sit and wait which could mean waiting up to 3 HOURS with him, but also to bare in mind they will not re attach his crown at an emergency appointment. I am furious that my son aged only 5 is expected to wait another two weeks to see a dentist. In another incident my husband has been waiting months to see a dentist to have his dentures fitted. He has had atleast 6 appointment cancelled and changed. To now be told he has to come down on the 29th of july to see a new dentist who can not carry on treatment and will have to start from scratch. This is unacceptable and an absolutely disgusting way to treat your patients who are desperate for dental treatment. A formal complaint has been made.

Negative experience: Would have given 0 if allowed. Child went for tooth extraction. Without explanation the dentist forcefully tried to put x-ray disc in his mouth causing him to gag numerous times and repeatedly push it away with his hands. I ended up telling him to stop and we left with my child even more nervous than he already was. Such bad service. Looking elsewhere to register my children.

Positive experience: 30th May 25 I an a very nervous patient and dreaded having 4 teeth removed.. The dentist was very kind and let my partner stay with me to hold my hand, the worst part was the injection..it was all done so quick I was surprised once it was all over. The receptionist was so kind to me when booking in and leaving. Thank you all so much. The only thing I would say would be the dental nurse could have a better chair side maner thanks again . So it's now 28th June and I have my partial denture. Everything worked out so quickly.. I'm so happy that I can smile without embarrassment. Oh and the dental nurses have been lovely. Fantastic experience: When my husband had a problem he was told to go down the following morning and to sit and wait to be seen. I expected to have a long wait but he was seen very quickly and he was sorted out very quickly over the next few weeks. I had a problem and was able to get an appointment the following morning. I did go private but I was happy with the treatment I received. Just been to see the hygienist and what a lovely lady Karen is. So caring and understanding and puts you at your ease. Thank you

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency appointment here via 111 and needed to have a broken tooth extracted the following week . Dentists are one of my worst fears and I suffer with anxiety and ptsd. But if you are the same as me , rest assured Mr Mohammed Imran was the most kindest, calming dental surgeon I have ever experienced. I highly recommend him and that is saying something considering I'm terrified of dentists . You will be in good hands .

Negative experience: Awful dentist, son is autistic and his usual has decided to go private so saw someone else. They were so rude and told to go private even though we are nhs patients. My son needs fillings and was referred to have under sedation 7 months ago and the dentist didn't follow through with providing information so can't have that sorted now, complete shambles of a place.

Positive experience: My check up appointment was cancelled, which sadly quiet common. A new appointment was made,which I attended but when I came out I was told I needed to book another appointment for my check up. When I said that's what my appointment was for , I was told it was an emergency appointment which I had not booked. This is not the first time this has happened and when you have to pay £27 every time, it adds up. The staff are nice enough so no complaints there, it just seems the booking system needs looking at.

Fantastic experience: Moved from the mainland October 2023 I had a fantastic dentist where I lived before but wasn't sure about finding one on the island especially as no NHS dentist only private. A family member recommended Damira in east Cowes and told me to use Parisha has she was fantastic very professional and caring ( I do get quite anxious when visiting the dentist). After speaking to a family member my tooth broke and I really needed to have this sorted. I arranged an appointment to see Parisha. On arriving at Damira I spoke to a young lady on the desk who wasn't very welcoming so I started to have doubts straight away. I sat waiting and then was greeted by a very friendly face who asked me to come upstairs to her waiting room (this was Parisha). I didn't have to wait long and was called into to see Parisha by her colleague called Olivia who was also very friendly. I started to relax straight away. Parisha was very gentle and explained what she needed to do. I didn't even feel the needle as she numbed the area in my mouth. Parisha then had a chat with me afterwards regarding a monthly payment plan and which one would best suit me. There was no pressure to take this out but I felt so comfortable with Parisha and happy to come back and see her as needed. I spoke to a lovely lady on the desk called Sonia who helped me set up my plan. I would definitely highly recommend Parisha to anyone who is sensitive to the dentist like me as I thought I wouldn't find anyone as good as my previous dentist but I have. You can see and feel Parisha takes pride in her job and makes sure her patient's are well looked after. Thank you Parisha.

Fantastic experience: No problems. I was seen on time (well, 5 minutes late) The dentist explained what he was going to do - buccal fillings - and did it. Both he and the dental nurse were polite and efficient, so I have no complaints.

Fantastic experience: Whilst on holiday in the Isle of Wight, I had to seek out an emergency private dentist, as I had lost part of a tooth. The dentist I saw at damira was Parsha, and he was wonderful, taking the time to explain everything to me and what was required moving forward. Negative experience: I was happy with the treatment I received on the day. I do not like being charged for future appointments in advance. Whilst I accept his might be a policy, I have had numerous appointments cancelled recently and I do not think this is acceptable. Demand for appointments is very high so we follow this policy to prevent failure to attend. It promotes patients to inform us when they need to cancel so their appointment time can be used to see another patient in need of dental care. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. Positive experience: Damira normally very good. Disappointed this time though, they were running late, and it was made worse by reception putting a later appointment in front of me without checking with me first - I was sitting next to reception at the time. I was also in a bit of a hurry, as I was in a 1-hour parking space. I finally went in 30 minutes late, had a speedy assessment and was out in under 5 minutes, so my parking was just OK, but charged the standard consultation fee, with extra for the upcoming fillings that were determined in the assessment. Whilst I appreciate reception trying to be helpful to the person they placed ahead of me, they should have checked with me first. I hadn't known that this lady was going to my dentist, until I saw her being called in. By then it would have looked cruel if I had objected, so I just took it.

Negative experience: I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel it’s necessary to share my experience. I visited this dental office expecting professional care, but unfortunately, the service fell far below my expectations. From the start, the staff seemed disorganized and indifferent. I was kept waiting well past my appointment time with no explanation or apology. When I finally saw the dentist, the interaction felt rushed and dismissive. My concerns were barely acknowledged, and I left with more questions than answers. On top of that, the front desk staff was unhelpful when I inquired about billing and insurance. The overall atmosphere made me feel like just another number rather than a valued patient. I’m very disappointed and will be looking for a different provider who prioritizes both professionalism and patient care.

Positive experience: Updated 7/6/25 Receptionist was the stereotypical 'I'll finish what I'm doing before recognising your existence' with me. Proceeded with their attitude throughout our interaction and with other patients. They continued to be as helpful as a chocolate teapot when a teenager and Mum negotiated their way around the appointment they'd received a text for. It wasn't 'in the system' and she hadn't heard of the dentist who it was made for. Customer was turned away after making another appointment, this and another interestingly similar conversation witnessed within our 10 minutes in the waiting room. My son needed treatment and the dentist and dental nurse were wonderful with him, they were kind and considerate of his Autism and ADHD. Can't recommend dentist & dental nurse highly enough (hence 4 star rating).

Negative experience: I have taken my disabled son here since Nov 24 via the NHS emergency system. They cancelled his appointment in Dec by mistake and in compensation actually registered him as an NHS patient. So we thought great! anyway we have had about 11 appointments since then. ALL have been cancelled at the last minute. We have gone to the emergency clinic at 8am or 2pm and my son has just been left sat there in pain. The receptionists are very empathetic on the telephone but they never ring you back with what they have told you they will do. Vicky & Sam are two to mention. When you say you are not happy to the dentist they make excuses, make promises, but it all comes to nothing. Abismal service.

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency appointment at your Practice on 31st May. I was on holiday on the IOW so was very grateful to be seen given I was in extreme pain. I was greeted by a lovely Dental Nurse called Ghida who was very considerate and kind. She introduced me to the Dentist Parsa who listened to my problems before examining me. He was both very professional and most caring. I cannot recommend them enough. The locals in East Cowes are fortunate to have them both.

Fantastic experience: My tooth filla popped out 2 days ago and was painful and very sensitive. On the Internet, I find the Damira East Cowes Dental Practice. I made a phone call at 09:30. Get the private emergency appointment at 10:15. Arrive to the Practice, the receptionist lady and gentleman are very nice, polite and helpful. I met with the dentist Parsa Ghaleh, he was very nice and helpful too. He filled my tooth cave, and I didn't feel any pain. He gave me a lot of advice. He is very professional and highly recommended! Fantastic experience: On my last visit to Damira in east Cowes, I had a very good experience. I had to have 2 fillings and never experienced any pai, just a slight nipping feeling when having the injection to numb my mouth. My dentist Pavan Plotnic and his assistant did an amazing job in keeping me calm and explaining to me what was going to happen and when. Negative experience: Horrible experience! I've had 18 months of appointments cancelled at last minute. Arrived and the dentist was running very late and in the waiting room, the receptionist allowed a woman to ignore her 3 children while looking at her phone to the point one child started picking up his chair and banging it up and down. I asked her to stop it and her and her friend were very aggressive saying the child had special needs. Reception did nothing, so I waited in a different area. As far as I can see, it's total chaos here.

Positive experience: I had a routine appointment for a check up on 15 May. There was no hygienist available that day and was told that they were here on a Monday and Tuesday. When I went in to see the dentist and I said about this, his reply was to go else where, this is unexceptable and plain rude to which I said that to him. I was with Damira on the mainland and transferred to this one. When I say that it was like being in another county I'm not over reacting, then when I said about the chip on one off my teeth. His response was I can only do one thing at once, at this point all he had done was type on the computer again rude and unexceptable. He also said that I had to open my mouth wider, when I said that's as far as I can open it, he then got the assistant to type I was obstructing the examination. I've been going to the dentist all my life and never been told or treated like this I find this unexceptable and unnecessary. I then had to remind him to take the sharp edge off my tooth

What an asset to the practice; Karen was friendly, professional and informative, willing to answer any questions put to her - and humorous. Negative experience: Rude dentist, would not recommend. I appreciated how easy it was to use the booking system at this practice, and the availability of evening appointments is a real plus for people who work late. The reception staff were also very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, my experience during the actual appointment was disappointing. I’m currently pregnant and was told by my regular dentist that I needed a filling before my third trimester. Since they had no availability, they advised me to try and get it done elsewhere in time. I booked here hoping to get the treatment done promptly. However, the dentist (Andre Basson) made it clear he would not examine me under an NHS appointment and said it would have to be a private consultation—even though I offered to pay. His manner felt quite abrupt and dismissive, and in the end, he refused to examine me at all (I have not witnessed such a bad bedside manner). I was told to rebook for an initial private appointment, but the available times were too close to my third trimester, and even then, I’d still need a separate appointment for treatment, which isn’t ideal. While I understand that practices have specific policies, I felt there could have been a more compassionate and flexible approach given the time sensitive nature of my situation. Instead, I left feeling dismissed and upset and ultimately not getting treatment I needed after waiting weeks for an appointment.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with service. Visited dentist to have a broken crown sorted only to be told by Mr Besson that I need 2 teeth extracting one was the broken crown which helps hold my plate in. (I would need a new plate) He seemed very nonchalant to the point of not caring. I was probably in there for no more than a few minutes. On seeing the receptionist to see about an appointment she told me nothing needed doing and see you in six months. I had an email today from demira about dental implants at a cost of £2500 a tooth lol, that would be about £80.000 for me. Seriously what's going on.

Negative experience: Worst organised Dental. Has taken since October 2024 to get through my appointment. I sat my initial appointment and was told I needed antibiotics before they could do anything with my teeth. I then started to get debt letters from the NHS as Damirs had informed them I lied about being disabled and claiming UC. As a result my appointment was also cancelled. The debt collectors said I needed to get Damirs to call them to confirm that they had spelt my name wrong. Once I called them they said they had nothing to do with cancelling the debt collectors off and it was my responsibility. It took my going to their ryde practice to get fixed and managed to get another appointment. Week later and just before my long waited appointment I received another letter for debt collection and another call to cancel my appointment again. I took the new letter to east cowes surgery and was told I had to leave it with them and they would call me with confirmation and a new appointment. Negative experience: I was glad to be able to get an emergency appointment to see a dentist about the severe pain in my tooth and jaw. The receptionist was very good indeed as was the dentist. Unfortunately it was discovered that the pain is being caused by a crack in the tooth so it needs to be removed to stop it hurting everytime I bit on it and I have to wait over a month now before I can get an appointment for this to be done! Why can't emergency treatment/necessary extractions be done at the emergency appointments? Delaying this essential extraction is only leading to more and unnecessary suffering as well as taking up more of the appointments which are few and far between.

Negative experience: Extremely rude and unhelpful. Said to me you will need to go to your dentist to get a filling, why do you think I came to you in the first place because I don't have one. The dentist then said I can't do anything about that! Helpful! There are no dentists taking on NHS patients. I pay for my treatment and still can't afford private dentist rates. Negative experience: Went in for a checkup and help with teeth grinding. During the check up the dentist was quite abrupt with me, almost snappy, didn't appear interested. Proceeded to check my gums , due to him pressing quite hard I winced in pain, dentist didn't say sorry and didnt seem bothered about the pain that was caused. Asked for help with teeth grinding, was offered a mouth guard but as I explained to the dentist the one that was offered was too small and I needed one that was more reinforced, I was basically told to just use the one I have and that was that. No further help or support was offered for my grinding, no solutions or attempt to help me with my issue. Just felt overall very brushed off, almost like he had a bad day and didn't want to deal with me.

Fantastic experience: The service I received was excellent. Appointment was on time and the Practice has a really proficient and customer friendly atmosphere. The dentist was clear and concise as to what treatment was required and what options I could take to improve my dental health further. Reception staff were very professional and friendly organising future appointments and explaining the cost structure for treatments. I would highly recommend this Practice, and given I have a irrational phobia of dentists I felt safe and well looked after.

Negative experience: A Horrific Experience at Demirra Dental Practice in East Cowes I have never felt so compelled to write a review in my life, but my experience at Demirra Dental Practice in East Cowes has been nothing short of appalling. Over the last two years, I have endured immense physical pain, emotional distress, and significant financial loss due to the sheer incompetence and negligence of this dental practice. I feel it is my duty to warn others and ensure that no one else suffers as I have. Two years ago, I visited this practice and was told that I had cavities in my two back molars that required fillings. Initially, I was offered silver fillings, which are the more affordable option, but the dentist pressured me into choosing the more expensive white fillings instead. They claimed that silver fillings would look "really, really bad" and "won’t be pretty." This made me feel incredibly self-conscious about my appearance, essentially manipulating me into paying privately for what I believed was a better option. Shortly after having these fillings placed, I started experiencing excruciating pain. The pain was so severe that I could not eat properly on either side of my mouth. As a result, I lost a shocking seven kilograms in weight over the course of seven months. I returned to Demirra Dental Practice on at least ten separate occasions, desperately seeking help for my unbearable pain. Each time, I was dismissed. The dentist continuously insisted that my pain was "all in my head," offering no real solutions or further investigation into my complaints. Out of sheer desperation, I sought a second opinion from a private dentist elsewhere. After a thorough examination, including X-rays and further investigations, it was revealed that the original cavity had been left untreated. The decay in my molars had become severe, causing unimaginable pain and irreversible damage. The failure of Demirra Dental Practice to properly treat my teeth led to the need for extensive and costly corrective treatment. I was then referred to an endodontist to try to salvage my teeth. This new specialist treatment cost me a staggering £4,000, including root canal therapy and the placement of two new crowns. To make matters worse, despite undergoing these corrective procedures, I am still experiencing significant pain and discomfort to this day. Not only was the level of care appalling, but the overall treatment I received from both the dentist and the practice staff was beyond unprofessional. The dentist I saw was consistently rude and dismissive, refusing to take my pain seriously. On multiple occasions, they canceled my appointments without proper notice, causing me additional stress and inconvenience. The reception staff were equally unhelpful and rude, making each visit even more frustrating. To make matters worse, I had to take considerable time off work just to attend these appointments, only to be treated with negligence and indifference. This experience has been nothing short of traumatic. Demirra Dental Practice does not prioritise patient care; they seem far more concerned with taking money from vulnerable patients than providing the necessary treatment. I have been a patient at this practice since childhood, but after this horrendous ordeal, I will never set foot in that building again. After speaking with the general dental council and providing x rays from my new dentist and a written letter, I managed to get my £400 back that I paid for the fillings but it cost me £4,000 to rectify the problem they caused. I would strongly urge anyone considering this practice to look elsewhere. No one deserves to go through the level of suffering I have endured due to their incompetence and disregard for patient well-being. Avoid this place at all costs

Positive experience: I can say that the new dentist I have seen this time was good. But the reception staff are rude and do not put anyone at ease. They do not talk to you they bark and then go on to speak to other staff whilst you are waiting

Fantastic experience: I'm a new private client ,and I had an appointment within 2 days of contacting the surgery, the staff were lovely and my Dentist parisha Valjee was excellent,I had an extraction,and I didn't experience any pain during or after the procedure...my Dentist printed out a dental plan for the work that needs doing ,which also includes the costs for the work which is great , Prices are reasonable for private dental care , very happy so far

Fantastic experience: Very welcoming, efficient and reassuring practice. Both dentist and staff very friendly and included me in decisions about my care. Highly recommended. Second visit as good as the first. Dentist listened to me and responded with reassurance and knowledge. Very happy. Third visit for tooth extraction by the wonderful Mohammed who couldn’t have been more reassuring, gentle and quick. For an unfortunate issue it was made as reasonably painless as possible. No problems afterwards and able to function normally for the rest of the day. Perfect experience - well as perfect as having to visit a dentist is anyway!

Negative experience: I saw Andre Basson if you have an appointment be mindful if it’s booked with him! I had a tooth extraction and I experienced extreme pain after the procedure radiating to my eye and ear I was in agony! I went back and the other staff another dentist and the receptionist was caring and compassionate and lovely ! Went back to Andre basson there was nothing wrong with it apparently but proceeded and he was horrible he ripped out what called a bone spicule on an already trauma to my gum with NO local anaesthetic I was crying my eyes out in pain then he put local anaesthetic AFTER then took out the blood clot as it didn’t form properly. He told me take 2 paracetamol instead of 1 (making out in stupid I’m not dumb) if I get pain it’s not his problem it’s my GP’s but for something there was “nothing” wrong with he had to rectify his work stay well away from this man I have never been so traumatised in my life from a dentist I now understand how one bad experience can give people a phobia of dentists Thankyou to the other lovely dentist and the receptionist for looking after me and making sure I was okay I really appreciate it ❤️

Positive experience: Dentists are top quality,professional and leave numb but happy. Then the negative side; Don’t answer phone,bad organisation,appointments cancelled the day before when you’ve arranged time off work. Slow, no urgency to get through people,badly managed. But the dentists and dental assistants are second to none.

Positive experience: Very good first appointment with Dr. Imran, very thorough and knowledgeable, as well as pleasant! My only problem was that I had joined their NHS waiting list but subsequently felt I needed to see a dentist sooner rather than later and thought I wouldn't be able to afford private treatment so signed up to a monthly payment plan. Apparently this means I'm no longer eligible to stay on the NHS waiting list. I've been trying to find an NHS placement since moving to the island 5 years ago without any luck so I had no choice but to join a monthly scheme in order to get treatment. Bit of a catch 22 situation!

Negative experience: Despite the fact that we are very short of NHS dentist but I can publicly share my unpleasant experience. Poor communication skills. Worth looking at barriers when communicating wearing mask and distance without eye contact to improve effective communication. Did not offer informed choices and certainly not person centred service at all with no empathy when saying 'NO - not available on NHS’. I wouldn’t return if I don’t have to maintain in the NHS patient register.
