Fantastic experience: Been coming to Dentalessence for quite a few years and, as on NHS, i have seen quite a few dentists. They have all been really friendly. Recently i had Aniqah who was really welcoming, friendly and put me at ease straight away. I would certainly recommend Dentalessence to others.

Fantastic experience: I had something I needed to discuss with the dentist and the manager so I made an appt and the issue dealt with well. Overall my experience is excellent. My dentist is wonderful and the general service is good. If there is any issue, it’s that I’ve had to wait quite awhile between treatment appointments but a resolution was offered for that and any other issues satisfactorily resolved. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The above was an old review from quite a few years ago, but the service just gets better and better. I feel very looked after and cared for at the Practice and Issy, my dentist is an absolute joy and so considerate of my over sensitivity. In addition. I’ve now just had a hygiene session with Jack who went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable throughout the session. My teeth are so sensitive that I dread even the cleaning sessions and he was brilliant and totally put me at ease and managed to do what we had set out to do. I am really not nervous now of my return to him next week. Thank you Jack. . Dec 2025. These were previous reviews above, additionally, Izzi continues be huge gentle support for my very sensitive teeth. It’s taken me 3 and half years to return to Jack but he was again, so very careful and appropriate with my extreme sensitivity. I now have stable and clean teeth again, thanks to Izzi and Jack. Thanks again to both and to the ever kind and friendly reception staff.

Positive experience: Had a cracked tooth was given an appointment, had to request an improvement upon the date given as in pain which was accommodated, seen by Rob Sword who was fantastic, diagnosed and treated . Fantastic experience: A good experience with a routine checkup yesterday. Called into the surgery on time, received instructions on what would be done, underwent a thorough examination and discharged with advice within 10 minutes

Negative experience: Not happy my autistic son wouldn’t sit in the chair as he was worried so the dentist say his having to take him off so no dentist which I thinks really unfair he hasn’t ever done this before

Bridget was really friendly and welcoming during the first half of my appointment and Dr Sachin Anand was really knowledgeable and explained everything he was doing throughout the appointment. My follow-up hygienist appointment with Katie was great too, super friendly and informative. I'm so happy I've decided to change to Dental Essence from my previous dentist.

They performed a very complex extraction with great care, no rush and no pain. Throughout they kept ensuring I was comfortable which calmed me. Fantastic experience: My dentist Zara is superb, kind, gentle and good with elderly, nervous patients like me. I even look forward to seeing my hygienist, who's part of a really professional dentist team who are superb in their fields.

Negative experience: The reception appeared confused when I asked for one appointment for check up and a filling. Eventually, after a few explanations, she got it. The filling came out within 2 days after appointment. Now there is no appointment left for another month.

She talked me through what she was going to do and was very reassuring throughout and constantly checking in on me to make sure I was comfortable. Fantastic experience: I have been to Dentalessence twice this week - once for my 2 year old daughter’s dentist appointment and once for myself. Both experiences were brilliant. The receptionists are always so friendly and helpful. My daughter was seen by Yasmin Aziz. The dentist and her team were kind and friendly to my nervous daughter and made one of her first experiences with the dentist a really positive one and gave lots of useful information on how to look after her teeth. The following day I was seen by Dr Zayd Mehdi. He is an exceptional dentist with fantastic interpersonal skills. I have a fear around dentist visits and suffer from anxiety surrounding it, all my fears were put immediately at ease by him and within a few minutes I felt completely relaxed. He took the time to listen and explain things to me with great detail and care, and the dental exam was a smooth process in which I felt was conducted with consideration and care. My experience was so much better than I expected, and I had no hesitation booking my follow up appointments with little fear. I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been using Dental Essence for a couple of years now and didn’t make a review initially as I wanted to make sure what they were like. It’s easy to make a good impression initially but it’s harder to consistently do a good job. However I think they have surpassed my expectations honestly. The staff are all lovely and the dentists are great. I had to see a different dentist recently for an emergency and they were as good as my normal dentist Sachin. I can’t give much info on prices but I think they are reasonable. Certainly they don’t feel too expensive compared to other dentists I’ve had in the past. I think for the care you get the prices are good. I’m very happy with them

After a brief discussion about my cleaning routine Katie explained areas where I could improve before carrying out my treatment, she was gentle but very thorough and checked I was ok throughout. I was extremely happy with the result and highly recommended her services.

Fantastic experience: The team (under Bobby Jandhu) started my treatment for an implant yesterday and were incredibly caring and gentle. They checked that I was OK at every stage. I felt no pain whatsoever and have been supplied with medicines to help with swelling, pain (if any) and the healing of the gum. The task, in my case, was not as straight-forward as it might have been but nevertheless, it was carried out with great skill and expertise. Bobby even rang in the late afternoon to make sure I was alright once the numbness had worn off. I am fine! Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Dental essence is an outstanding dental clinic. I received a warm welcome on arrival by the reception team and was impressed with the beautiful interior design throughout the practice. Fantastic experience: I have had repeatedly excellent service at Dental Essence. I briefly lived in Burgess Hill and registered with them and have since used their services a couple of times, travelling for a second opinion. Most recently I saw Zayd, he has a really pleasant and relaxed approach while at the same time sharing his wealth of knowledge coupled with advice on various options. The whole experience was excellent, I was treated with respect and treated as an adult and a stakeholder in his recommendations, this has made me realise I need to get a new dentist back home! Travelling for my regular check ups is sadly not an option otherwise I would do it in a heartbeat for such great service...although I am considering traveling to get the work done since the explanations were so clear and he used both photographs and xrays to explain to me exactly what is going on in my mouth! Dentalessence is exactly what a modern dental practice should be!

As someone who is a very nervous dental patient, I truly appreciate how comfortable and at ease she has made me feel. I recently had a wisdom tooth extraction with her, and she made the whole process so easy, painless, and incredibly quick! Her genuine care is priceless. I also want to mention Ollie at reception. What a pleasure it is to deal with him! He's always so welcoming, smiley, and efficient. Dentalessence is a fantastic dental practice overall, and I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I took my 6 year old daughter for her dental check up at Dental Essence on 3/10/2023. I can absolutely recommend without question this surgery. The dentist, Anastasia and the nurse, Char were fantastic. Immediately putting my daughter at ease and engaging with her in a friendly manner, whilst also making her feel grown up. The treatment (replacement filling) was done efficiently, professionally and pain free. Lots of helpful advice was given. I am extremely happy to continue to be a patient of this practice. The premises were clean, bright and welcoming (she loved the Halloween decorations) and the front of house staff were warm and welcoming. A five star experience all round. Thank you Dental Essence!

Fantastic experience: My 5year old went for tooth extraction. The dentists were kind and made sure we had no fear. It was fast with less pain that my daughter was able to go to school after the procedure.

I had an initial appointment with Izzy who couldn’t have been kinder ! I have also seen Jack the hygienist who was also very professional and took plenty of time to explain. He too was very lovely. So all in all I am very happy to recommend Dentalessence.

Fantastic experience: Rashmi was amazing with my son who attended for a tooth extraction this week. He was extremely anxious about it and she put him at ease, explaining what she was going to. With the help of some local anaesthetic spray and gel, the tooth was out before he realised it. The staff at Dental Essence Burgess Hill are always so kind, caring and welcoming. My children always feel very comfortable going there.

Fantastic experience: This is one of the best dental practice in Sussex having been going too the same practice now for many years. My dentist nurse is a very professional and competent person in her duties as are all of the staff. The practise is very clean, waiting times are very good I would highly recommend this dental practice.

Fantastic experience: I am not a lover of dentists and never have been for the past 70 or so years. After approximately 150 dental visits I have actually found a dentist who is genuinely friendly, has all the time in the world for you and is honest. Dr Zayd ticks all my boxes. Hygienist Jack is also an extremely pleasant and empathetic part of the team who also gives me plenty of time. To round it all off the reception team are also extremely welcoming and friendly, especially Joanna and Ollie who I usually meet. Not sure how one firm can attract so many professional, effective and downright friendly staff but - Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at Dentalessence during a recent visit with my son. The registration, appointment process was pretty smooth. My son needed to have a painful baby tooth removed, and the doctor ensured he felt comfortable and cared for during the entire process. The procedure was quick and smooth, and my son was at kept at ease, explaining everything in a way he could understand. Thanks for easy, quick and comfortable treatment.

Positive experience: I don’t think it’s morally okay to push patients on the NHS plan for private treatments during their treatments giving an impression that the nhs treatment would be less effective

Fantastic experience: My son needed a filling, he was happy to go alone (16). Rob made him feel at ease and explained everything to him. My son chose not to have anaesthetic after Rob explained the options. My son was happy throughout and said Rob was gentle and explained what he was doing as he went along. Thank you again Rob!

Fantastic experience: After a terrible experience at a previous dentist Dental Essence was wonderful with my son. Really patient, kind and he came away saying they were lovely. So glad we moved him to you guys.

Negative experience: Had a new patient consultation here and the dentist told me based on the X-Rays I needed four fillings to achieve dental health. I went to another dentist for a second opinion and examination who told me I didn’t need any fillings, Left confused I went to a third dentist for another examination who also told me I didn’t need any fillings, 2 separately independent dentists told me something different to what the dentist at Dental Essence told me, had I listened to the Dental Essence team I’d have spent over £1,000 on fillings that two separate dentists told me I didn’t need, I would not trust this practise.

Fantastic experience: Always 5 star. Everything explained and necessary dental work discussed. The work needed carried out with great skill and all in the Practice so very pleasant.

Fantastic experience: This Dental Practice is a shining example of how to do dentistry properly... A well selected and trained Team who really do want to be the best. My impression is that nothing (whether NHS or Private) is to much trouble for them and that you are safe in their highly experienced hands... Thoroughly recommend 11/10 I have just finished yet another course of treatment for some very complicated fillings and repairs they were carried out by Issy> Great people at the top of their game and as I said on the first review over 2 years ago: "nothing is to much trouble for them and I felt safe in their highly experienced hands" rescued me again and I thoroughly recommend... Following a dental emergency I visited this practice for treatment. The staff (as always) we’re helpful, considerate and caring and with great skill and knowledge remedied a painful situation quickly; how much more could you ask for . Thoroughly recommend this wonderful team who work hard to maintain a very high standard of care!!

Fantastic experience: Not my usual experience with Dental essence. They have always been great. The Hygienist was very sweet but after going in 15 minutes late. Some of the equipment wasn’t working properly. We were in the tiniest room and for some reason there was another colleague in there who kept calling the hygienist away to log him onto the computer. Didn’t feel as though I had really had the service I had paid for. Was back out after just 20 mins or so. Would have complained but after going in late was running behind for another appointment.
