Negative experience: This dentist practice is a joke! Since March (it is July now) I had 3 appointments cancelled, once sent to a different specialist (unwanted, so wasted someone's time) and they never give a dignity to call to patient. Just sending a messages about cancellation. I don't think there's can be any worse practice around there.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my children are patients at Market Place and we are always happy with the service we receive. It is clean, easy to navigate, staff are friendly and helpful, and the dentists we have seen are brilliant.

Fantastic experience: Mr Huzaafa Shahid is amazing, he’s so understanding, gentle and explains everything, always checks your ok too

Fantastic experience: Hi my name is Lee shepherd I have being with that market place family dental surgery for well over 15 year if not more the first place was upstairs then it moved to new home but now that's huge it looks amazing clean and tidy the staff are friendly I had a appointment the other week the dentist was so lovely she made me feel at ease and I felt cared for can't remember her name but she was lovely and her assistant was nice too seen a few dentists there and there all lovely so a big shout out to you all

Fantastic experience: Being absolutely terrified of the dentist, I was dreading going for an extraction. From the first point of contact with this practice I was very well looked after, quick and efficient booking me an appointment and kind and friendly receptionists. Mr Okechukwu Ikeagwuani was extremely kind, fully explained the procedure and took the time to ensure that I was comfortable. I did not realise that he had done the extraction! The dental nurse working with him was kind, friendly and knowledgeable. THANK YOU ALL x

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Market Place Dental Care through my own dentist for a tooth extraction. This extraction required the expertise of an oral surgeon whom historically would have seen patients in clinic at the hospital however some of these referrals are now seen in the community setting to keep the waiting list down. My surgeon today was Dr Okechukwu Ikeagwuani. I would like to thank him for putting up with me (I do think he wished he could do this to me ), also for being kind, caring, gentle and most importantly 'human'. He explained the procedure from start to finish, put me at ease and did a fantastic job. Market Place Dental Care were also very welcoming, polite and friendly. Job well done by all, thank you

Fantastic experience: Mrs Madiha Anum and her assistant were absolutely fantastic. They are a credit to your business. I am extremely anxious about visiting the dentist but she put me at ease, went at a pace for me and checked I was comfortable at regular intervals. Best scale and stain removal I have ever experienced.

Fantastic experience: A filling i had done 2 year ago fell to bits and literally no where would give me an appointment, phoned 111 three times and they gave me numbers to places not accepting any patient at all not even private. Only one i could get into wanted over £150 for emergency appointment and another £50 for a temp filling! I phoned this dentist up and they accepted me as a NHS patient instantly and gave me an appointment literally a hour later i couldn't believe it as i was being told a week + before even being seen by a dentist. The dentist Mr Yaqoobi was great the only thing i wish he did different was numb me beforehand, i wasn't in pain at all but it was more being able to feel him removing bits of my old filling and drilling etc. Very nice receptionists as well, fixed a issue for me in the same day and also included a clean.

Negative experience: Went last week to replace a filling, firstly they didn't numb me and just started scraping out my silver one that cracked and it hurt, secondly while doing the composite filling which i didn't know they did as i wanted silver as composite looks good but so weak especially for back teeth and they kept moaning i was closing my mouth and swallowing when their drowning me because they wasn't using the suction properly. Filling was too high and i couldn't close my mouth properly so he grinded it down and when he got frustrated i kept saying it wasn't much better he grinded down my bottom teeth to try fix it which did a little but not 100% but felt if i didn't lie and said no still wrong he would have kept filing down my good teeth! When i had the silver filling my tooth had no issue. now i have constant pain and can tell its there, i asked for silver because composite fillings can't handle pressure and just fall out but i get why you'd want them on front teeth, now i need to book private and have it removed and a new filling put in.

Negative experience: Charged me £60 pound straight away to make a appointment, got to my appointment 3 days later, sat in waiting room were i at to tell them i was thirty minutes late , eventually seen the dentist who asked the problem told him , so he gave me a tooth filling at the back tooth ect he was there 20 minutes from me numbing my mouth to Finnishing, went paid my bill of £150 pound, so basically you rob dogs charged me £210 for a filling OMG realy even prime minstrel on that sort of money, avoid this DENTIST , so basically this Dentist is on £630 a hour hhhhaaaa what a JOKE

Fantastic experience: Saw Dr Okey Ikeagwuani yesterday for wisdom tooth extraction. Very quick, knew what he was doing and very patient too. The assistants were lovely and made me feel at ease throughout and was quick and easy. To say I have dental anxiety, I’d go there again for a tooth extraction. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Our family is registered with the service. We all have great experience, staff always kind and helpful.

Negative experience: Don't use these. NO qualified dentist. Only hygienist. So only small fillings can be done . Then they tell you "WE CAN ONLY DO OTHER TREAMENTS WITH PRIVATE DENTIST . Which you have to pay to register . Scam

Fantastic experience: Don't tend to do reviews but felt like I needed to as the service was AMAZING. I was referred here by a Dentist due to issues with 2 wisdom teeth and a tooth that had been impacted and shattered causeing extreme pain. From my referral to being seen was about 2 weeks. Both the Dentist and his assistant where fantastic. Talked me through the procedure and kept checking I was OK. I was a little nervous as the previous year I had to have a difficult wisdom tooth and impacted tooth removed with another dentist at Kingsmill and that took nearly 1 hour in the chair and left a mess (not the dentists fault). This time from sitting down in the waiting room to leaving the Dentists it took about 30 minutes including the wait for the anaesthetic. All I can say is this was a great service.

Negative experience: Missed an appointment they then made a new appointment without informing me, they then said I had missed two appointments and struck me off, poor service from an NHS dentist.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic place. Really clean environment all the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this dentist.

Negative experience: Mydentist made me an appointment with this dentist I paid for extraction of my bottom wisdom teeth as I’d had an X-ray done which they would have received prior to my appointment. When I entered the room the dental nurse was friendly and polite but the dentist couldn’t even muster up an hello I found his people skills very poor. Dr Okechukwu Ikeagwuani looked at my teeth and told me my options which I thought was odd seeing as I was told this appointment was for extraction and I’d already paid Mydentist. He told me of the risks and gave me a leaflet I said I had mentally prepared myself for them to be out today and it’s taken a lot especially with my anxiety to be here today. He abruptly told me there’s a 2 week cooling off period that has to be given by the NHS. He was not sympathetic to the fact I was nervous and anxious. He told me today it was a consultation only, which personally I should have been made aware of before hand and I was not!. UPDATE: (Tuesday 11th Feb) I spoke to MYdentist today they had spoken to this practice and Dr Okechukwu Ikeagwuani said I wasn’t aware of the risks and I wasn’t sure if I wanted them out! The fact he is blatantly lying is infuriating and that I had said I will go elsewhere - I never said this as I didn’t know at that stage if another dentist would even be an option . All I wanted was my teeth extracted, there and then but he made it very clear this wasn’t an option due to this so called “2 week cooling off period”. Be wary of this man if he thinks a procedure is too difficult he will clearly fob you off!. Luckily I am getting referred else where.

Negative experience: Took my son last week for a check up had a filling whilst was there which took over an hour to do!! 2 2 hours later the filling has fell out he’s now in agony as his nerve is showing the bloke didn’t speak a word of English and didn’t explain anything! So thanks to him I’m now struggling to get this problem sorted!!

Negative experience: Very rude call handlers They refuse to disclose any pricing, you're asked to pay 60£ but its up to dentist how much he/she will charge you. Wouldn't recommend at all.

Fantastic experience: I have been looking for a Dentist since covid.I rang my Dentist to rearrange my may 2020 appointment to be told I'm not on thier books.I rang every Dentist in Mansfield. It took me 4 years to get one that would see me. I Walked in on 15th October 2024 and asked if they would take me on as NHS. I got appointments for 17th October. With Dr Nahal Majidzaden. What a fantastic lady . Dr Nahal. Put me at ease, took things slowly as I have gag reflex. This Lady and her team get 5 Stars from me. As its the first time going to a Dentist, I feel listen to and left thinking I don't hate Dentists

Negative experience: Rude, racist, liar receptionist, the young girl dentist is clueless, kept asking me to sign few pages on the I pad and realised they were receipt for the work she supposed to have done, charging £100 for an xray and blowing air on the tooth and told, I don't have a time, I told her I am in a lots of pain, and I have booked this appointment to have something done about it, including removing the tooth that causing the pain, she looked at me and said I will book you in to have the tooth removed in two weeks time with an other dentist, I said to her are u joking, she replied no, I don't remove teeth, we have an other dentist who come every now and then to do this job when it needed, I couldn't believe what she was saying, I asked her what I am supposed to do for the time being I am in pain and need help now, I can't wait for two weeks, I am in lots of pain, she told me I cant help you, you have to try a different dentist, I asked her do you know any other dentist who do tooth extraction, she replied no, and told me to get up from the chair because she had other appointments, very rude, so I told her this my time, and you didn't do anything apart from Xray and blowing air on my tooth, so she told me I have been rude, and told me, next time u come do u want to see the dentist you were with before me, I told her, I don't mind but I don't remember his name, because last time I saw him was in 2014, she didn't care one bit about my pain, at the same time she had 3 trainees, dental nurses from the college present in the room witnessing what was happening, not very good example, at the end she asked me if I want to book again in two weeks time to have my tooth extracted, I told her I don't think so, I won't be coming back here again, she left me in pain, but quick to get me signing few bills on the ipad and sent me downstairs to pay them, and all she have done is counting my teeth, Xray, and blowing air. avoid this practice if you value your health and sanity, unprofessional.

Negative experience: As a dentist this practice is really nice and has helped my grandma on numerous occasions making her feel comfortable and supported and relaxed. however my complaint is within the structure of the practice itself. a lot of disabled people use this practice as whenever my grandma comes either me or my mum take her so we tend to see a lot of them, along with my grandma herself being disabled and not being able to walk without a walker. the entrance to the practice has a step which people such as my grandma cannot possibly get up by herself so me and my mum find ourselves having to make her sit outside (usually in the rain) for up to 10 minutes on her walker while we find a place to park as she won’t be able to wait in the practice herself without us getting her through the door. i would like to think the practice is requesting more of a ramp to make it easier for disabled people to get up as this would definitely help. a man was trying to get through the door the other day with two crutches on and it was impossible for him to get up the step and open the door without my mums help, the man also then dropped his crutches and no one offered to help him until my mum did. on other issues such as a disabled toilet, the facility is absolutely amazing like having disabled people be seen downstairs it’s great compared to other dentists. i do just think it’s quite dangerous for disabled people (especially ones who don’t have support such as family or a carer) to get into the building.

Negative experience: This practice is currently working on the understanding they're invincible. There is no chance of finding another NHS dentist so they'll stamp on your face with their jackboot for the smallest complaint about their dismal service and attitude to regular people. If you work and have certain hours there is never an appointment and if you take the risk to book one and get into traffic then you'll be kicked out. Thanks for leaving me in pain with dentistry issues that your cereal box trained dentists cannot and will not address. I had an appointment for a wisdom tooth removal, booked a day off work for this, spent 2 minutes in the chair being told it wouldn't be removed and i'd have to go to the hospital for this (1 year wait). I brought this up to the reception but we're just little plebs and should be happy that our dentistry superiors even acknowledge our existence. Don't even try and complain, it has to be done through the dentist themselves which again reinforces their attitude of being invincible. The price of private care is eye watering but compared to this joke of a dentist i'd gladly sell a kidney.

Fantastic experience: Went to see Dr Bilal Shiekh today for a back tooth issue, had to have it re filled, lovely chap told me how much it was going to be before the treatment started and explaining what he was doing through out the treatment, and kept asking if I was ok, would recommend.

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting. Do not follow NHS Rules with regards to three months notice of being removed from register. Manager conveniently unavailable and could not provide information as to where their policies can be found. Ridiculous. Would be zero stars if possible.

Fantastic experience: I can't praise this dental practice enough! From the moment you walk in the staff are friendly and helpful. I recently broke a tooth and I was seen by my dentist the same day, and I subsequently had to have the tooth removed. The specialist dentist who did the extraction was absolutely brilliant and I didn't feel a thing. A huge thank you to all involved xxx

Fantastic experience: Saw Dr Bilal Sheikh today. I was early, was seen within 15 minutes. Dr Bilal was polite and well spoken. He explained what was happening, and was very gentle. Highly recommend this dentist.

Negative experience: Went here originally for tooth pain, was told it would need a filling, went back for the Filling which came out the next day, we called the dentist and was told they cant give appointments out we need to call 111, we did this and they said it was absolutely not needed and they dont sort this particular dentist out and they apparently were not on there list So after struggling to get an appointment, I said I was going to get citizens advice involved as they were not giving me an appointment despite myself and my partner and another family member calling, after that they got us appointment, so I had an appointment went back for them to tell me it needs coming out, so another appointment was booked for the extraction ( today) went there built myself up for it, they numbed me with an injection 3 times ( which did not do absolutely anything!! The person doing this struggled because the injection did not touch my pain, anyway they basically gave up trying, previously to trying to take it out they told me there was an infection in my tooth, they also charged for my filling which lasted a day ( going to fight for that back) after giving up trying to take this tooth out they said they'd have to book an appointment which would take a WEEK!!! KNOWING it's very painful and infected. We tried to put up a fight but they just were not interested!! Anyway I called another dentist and explained the situation and how they have been ect, I was offered an appointment at 11.30 am, they used just 2 injections and did there work and the tooth was out in about 15 seconds. This dentist is shocking , DO NOT USE!! Unless you want to wait weeks and weeks for an appointment for them to mess it up and not give another appointment.

Negative experience: Where to begin? Been here for a few visits to see Dr Atalor. He seems very nice but is somewhat hard to understand. Because I suffer from an anxiety disorder I have to have the first appointment of the day yet on today's visit (and my last I might add) I found 2 people going in before me and was left waiting yet again and so had to leave yet again. This has happened on 4 seperate occasions but I can't go through that any more, I would rather extract my own teeth! Being an NHS patient here really does mean your bottom of the pile. Also on another point, I have crohn's and as such have greater risk of moth sores and any infection could be fatal because of the medication I'm on yet I still wouldn't go here! Keeping with the crohn's, don't expect to be able to use the toilet facilities either because there's no toilet paper or hand wash and the toilets were last checked sometime in 2023, it's now March 2024, what a dirty place! So if your thinking of coming here on the NHS, don't! All they want is you in to tick the "pay me" box and out with the minimum and most basic of treatments and as quickly as possible, and don't mind the wait because someone who's paying has bumped you. Disgraceful and disgusting!

Negative experience: Been under this dental practice for years. So after lockdown it took 2 & a half years to get an appointment. I went to both appointments £56ish. Didn't do anything on my second appointment just looked at my teeth that they did on the first appointment. So I complained, they said it was new NHS procedure.. anyway phoned up a year later as they didn't want to see me until then. Phoned up had a discussion with a young girl she did not give me much info just said I missed an appointment I said I attended 2, she was adamant I missed one & I was talking about the 2 I did go to. & SHE put the phone down on me. How unprofessional and I'm not on their books anymore as I missed an appointment that I didn't have... Also they have told my son he's not on the books either how can they just right you off without letting you know. Could understand if I miss 5 appointments. You never get the same dentist either if you can find somewhere better do so..

Negative experience: I was with my child a year ago and they said everything is fine. There is no need to do anything with the teeth. I'm in another country at the moment. I have nine teeth.Currently, my child has nine teeth that need to be repaired, including one root canal treatment. I do not recommend this air conditioner to anyone. Porashka. Chris

Negative experience: Got removed from Dental practice because of inactivity without making us aware. It doesn't, make sense to remove registered patients even if they don't use the service as much because, not everyone will have tooth problems every year. If you are to remove a patient you need to make them aware through writing or other ways. Unacceptable

Fantastic experience: I registered at this practice on the recommendation of my wife. The level of care I have received over the last few years has been exceptional. Dr Colins Atalor is without doubt the best dentist that I have ever been registered with. All the treatments I have needed have been fully explained, including all possible options and the costs involved, enabling me to always make an informed decision. The work has always been carried out to the highest level of professionalism and patient care. All the other people I have had contact with at the practice have always been professional, friendly, and very helpful. Thank you for all your hard work and care. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: Absolutely rubbish upstairs toilet filthy no soap no bin no towels no sanitary bin no toilet brush waiting room boring outlook of windows to seagulls and pigeon s using area as a toilet disgusting as this is a threat to public health go in to surgery room lay back and looking at black mould on ceiling and this is a dental environment pushy attitude by dentist and shocking prices no personal service just a number on a roll would not ever want to go back and use again !

Positive experience: Happy with dental service but unhappy with time waited for appointment. I made the earliest appointment - 9am as I have previously had to wait 20-25 mins for the appointment. Today I arrived at 8.50am, however the dentist didn’t arrive until 9am so I didn’t go in until after 9.10am. After addressing the dentist about the unprofessional time keeping, he stated that there was traffic. After pressing the issue he eventually apologised but reiterated he hit traffic. I start work at 8am and feel that the dentist should have been ready for my 9am appointment.

Fantastic experience: First time visiting this dental practice, as the required tooth extraction procedure could not be performed by my own practice. Being usually very apprehensive about visiting any Dentist, today was even worse for what had to be done, but I was put totally at ease by the Dental Surgeon who dealt with me. I found both him and the Dental Nurse to be very professional and caring and would recommend their services. Well done folks. Thank you for making me experience more manageable.

Fantastic experience: I went in for a dental emergency yesterday after a very painful Christmas! The reception team got me in, so great service from them. Huge thank you to Dr Bilal Shiekh he is a massive asset to your team, he is gentle, sorted out a treatment plan for on going work and reassured me, as a nervous patient he put me at ease. Well done team as a whole you all do a great job!

Fantastic experience: We have had an amazing experience at this practice. Been referred by orthodontist to take 4 teeth out, which is obviously scary and worrying for any child / teenager. The doctor we had was absolutely brilliant, made my daughter feel at ease and not to worry or be afraid. Excellent service from start to finish. An absolute outstanding example on how this should be handled with someone who is afraid of dentists. Customer service was also great. Can highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Although I’ve had mixed levels of treatment here before this time it was faultless! The new dentist (Dr Shiekh), was well spoken, polite and thorough. He puts you at ease and was not at all rough when working on your teeth. Great service!

Negative experience: The worst dentist in the country. Very dirty place, booked an emergency appointment for 11am was told on arrival a 4 hour wait! Also couldn’t accompany my partner in the room whilst she was being seen. She suffers with anxiety and needs a chaperone, they even had a sign on the wall saying chaperones are welcome. The dentist who was treating my partner instantly dismissed me out the room saying I was not aloud to be there. Extremely rude man. I believe a DR COLLINS ATALOR! Absolute joke of a person. Obviously he learnt dentistry but not basic social skills. I would avoid coming to this place, even in an emergency. Very unprofessional!

Fantastic experience: Such a lovely mannered dentist. My son with ADHD and Autism was so calm and relaxed with him, I would recommend him to anyone. Usually my son won't even open his mouth for a dentist, but he was fully compliant and smiled throughout. Thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: Dr Bilal Shiekh saw me today, had 3 fillings and a scrape and polish he is without doubt the best dentist I have seen in the last 15 years, his dental assistant was very polite and professional.

Negative experience: I wish it was possible to give zero stars, Collins Atalor is rude, extremely rough and frankly I do not know how he continues to practice as a dentist. He doesn't explain what he's doing then your landed with a bill at reception. I'm not sure if anyone else has this but when you sign at the end, yeah that bit should be before he even commences treatment apparently, who knew Apparently if you question anything they also threaten to strike you off. Receptionists rude and looking at the reviews its not a one off

Negative experience: Had to wait nearly 2 hours after my appointment time to be seen, to then learn the receptionist had "forgotten" to log me in. Recieved a verbal apology and was then rushed into the chair. Dentist spent maybe 2 minutes looking inside my mouth and said he "didn't know" why I was getting toothache. Very rushed. Very disappointed with the service.

Fantastic experience: Had a filling today. The reception staff were very helpful and efficient as were my dentist and dental nurse. I couldn't fault the service given by the team. Would thoroughly recommend.

Negative experience: I have been to this dentist since I was 18 years old, when it used to be across the square up a steep flight of stairs. I had to move my last check up appointment three times because I was ill (I always called didn't just not turn up) and they cancelled me as a patient. After over 40 years. Said I could reapply in February. Well no thanks, loyalty means nothing to them and I'll take my money elsewhere.
