Fantastic experience: Mary was amazing! A lesser dentist would have given up on my tooth and just pulled it out! But not Mary, she persevered and managed to sort out my root canal. I now DON'T need dentures because of her!

Fantastic experience: I saw the good reviews for Burnside so I decided we should go and check it out for ourselves. Without pressuring us into anything, Claire at the reception explained very clearly (over the phone) the costs of the visit and what to expect, following promptly with an email confirmation. On the day of the visit, we found the place pleasant and welcoming. And yes, there was a good number of clients walking in and out! Dr. Paolo who served my husband proved very knowledgeable, explained the problem and made good suggestions how we could move on from our predicament. While not mincing words, he helped us relax and face realities, being humorous and no-nonsense all the time. All in all, every staff we met at Burnside knew what he/she was doing, was friendly and helpful. Now I know why they basically got straight A reviews! :) (Passage below written in August 2024) Having now been with Burnside Dental for almost 3 years, I can assure you that the whole dental team is professional and most helpful. Dr. Tom the owner is very well experienced. He also gave me emergency antibiotics over the weekend without first charging me - the surgery was officially closed that morning. Then he helped me relax while going through a root canal later on. The hygienist Siobhan helped fix my husband's gum pockets, and kept our teeth hygiene in tip-top conditions. All compliments to Burnside Dental!

Fantastic experience: I had an awesome experience with Burnside Dental Surgery! Starting from the receptionist, she is kind, helpful and efficient (a rarity nowadays). The Dental Surgeon (Paulo) really impressed me; I went to Paulo for an initial check up and then for wisdom teeth extraction, he resulted in a highly knowledgeable and capable professional with gentleman manners. The teeth extraction in particular was a quick and unexpected pleasant experience with him. His assistants are also nice and capable. I can't recommend Paulo and the Surgery enough! Thanks for making the dentist experience a no-brainer for me!

Fantastic experience: I recently joined Burns dental and what a revelation it is to my previous dentist. My initial email enquiry to join was actioned quickly and politely. I was able to secure an appoint to see the dentist and the hygienist within 2 weeks which compared to 4 month wait at my previous dentist was amazing. Mary the dentist was brilliant and gave me a thorough mouth check with various X-rays. The following week I visited Sam the hygienist and she was excellent. Bit of cleaning work to do but she worked her way round gently removing the plaque and not letting me drown in the water fountain. All in all very pleased I followed up on the previous Google recommendations and went to this dentist.

Fantastic experience: Decided to go Private due to my NHS dentist not providing any service. Recommended Burnside by friends. My dentist was extremely good and explained carefully all the X ray evidence. Quick second appointment arranged. So far great experience!

Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Tom Mullen at Burnside Dental Surgery for 39 years. This practice has got to be one of the best in the country. The staff are approachable, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly, and Tom is a top class dentist. I think of the way he practices dentistry as a form of art. He takes the utmost time and care to get the perfect result, keeping you informed all the way. I would not see another dentist. After I recommended Tom to a world renowned chest and cardiac physician who I worked for, this gentleman will not see anyone else now either. During lockdown the team at Burnside contacted me promptly on both occasions that I left messages because I needed advice. Indeed Tom phoned me at home on a Sunday, gave me appropriate advice, and assured me I would be seen as soon as the practice reopened, as was the case. When I attended (still in semi-lockdown) I felt completely safe at the hands of the staff. I was the only patient in the waiting room and every single precaution possible was taken to ensure the safety of myself and the staff. And now Tom and his staff continue to provide top class care. I have told Tom he's not allowed to retire! If I had to give this dental practice marks out of 10 I would give it 11. Enough said Edit, 20/7/22 .. what more can I say? Ditto above, plus saw Tom again yesterday and what a brilliant practice this is. I'm not being paid to say this!!...ALL the staff are ALWAYS lovely, and Tom, as ever, yesterday spot on in his immediate diagnosis and as reassuring and brilliant as ever. I've told him again he can't retire! Another edit as the above are old reviews. I can't say anymore except that I have been at Tom's practice for 40 years, since 1983 when it first opened. It's an hour+half round trip for me to see Tom. I think 40 years of those long trips says it all. It's impossible to expand on any of my previous reviews; this practice .. the staff warm, kind and every one of them top class in each of their roles, must be one of the best in the country x I've seen Tom a couple of times since my last review, including again yesterday. He is always endlessly patient with me, which I need, and I really can't add anymore because the service I continue to receive from every single aspect of this surgery remains 110%. Fantastic experience: Went for a checkup and x-ray. This is a prive dentist, so prices are not cheap, but I got excellent service. The place was nice and clean, staff friendly and the doctor gave a really detailed explanation on the state of my teeth, pointing out what should be improved in my daily routine and suggested a treatment plan.

Fantastic experience: I have been attending Burnside Dental Practice for over twenty years, most recently 24th May 2021. The aim has always been to preserve my teeth and health which happily has been the case. The team are very professional and sympathetic toward patients like myself who hate going to the dentist. Maybe I have been lucky with my teeth but I've never had to return with a problem after receiving treatment which I believe is a credit to their skills.

Fantastic experience: Lost a filling on Sunday; phoned on Monday at 8.30am; already had an appointment with the hygienist scheduled for that afternoon. They fitted me in before that appointment; tooth repaired - better than before - by 2.30pm; and didn't even have to postpone the hygienist. Outstanding service.

Fantastic experience: Great experience at Burnside Dental and the treatment from Dr Mary Hodson was exceptional and the staffs are very polite. I managed to get appointment on the same day for an emergency tooth filling. Car park for 4 in the front (be mindful of the narrow road with resident's cars on once side). Definitely recommend others.

Fantastic experience: I have recently moved to Cambridge and signed up to Burnside Dental Surgery. I recieved my initial examination and a hygiene appointment within days of signing up. My examination and hygienist appointments were conducted by Paulo and Jess, respectively. My experience has been nothing short of 5 star; the practitioners were extremely knowladable and made the whole experience worthwhile. Both staff and facilities were exemplary and exceeded all expectations.

Fantastic experience: My family registered with Burnside Dental last year. As my husband and I were registered, we were able to get our toddler on through NHS registration and they've been absolutely wonderful with her. Both of her visits have been great, getting her acclimatised to the dentist, and no pressure at all. Both visits were with Mary who we'd highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I saw Dr Mullan for an emergency peri-implantitis consultation. Despite the circumstances, I had a great experience - Dr Mullan was very empathetic and thorough, he answered all my questions and his treatment resolved my symptoms. I was also reassured and I received advice on how to manage and prevent this issue.The receptionist was also super friendly and helpful! :)

Fantastic experience: Appointment with Dentist Paulo Fortuna for a molar extraction yesterday. The area was numbed with injections which were administered with such care and technique that it was not painful. Although the removal of the roots was rather challenging, Paulo is an extremely professional, skilled and caring dentist and had assistance from a kind, proficient nurse. The post extraction care advise was thorough and I would definitely recommend Burnside Dental Practice.

Prior to the examination he went through my history. When the examination concluded he advised me the plan of action. He was thorough and made sure I understood correctly. Fantastic experience: I have been a client of Burnside dental surgery for over 30 years and found the team extremely professional, caring and efficient. It has all the up to date equipment and skill to keep my smile looking good. The whole team work well together and many have been there for as long as I remember which proves that it's a good place to work! The new dentists with new skills are also a great asset.

Fantastic experience: I've been treated by Paulo for many years, before he joined Burnside. We've been so pleased with Paulo's professionalism, my wife and I both moved here to be able to be treated by him again, even though Burnside is a private practice and we were NHS patients before. As you had to pay a lot for NHS treatment anyway, the step up to private costs wasn't too much, considering the quality of treatment Paulo provides. On this occasion, March 2023, I was due a routine inspection at the end of the month but the onset of some discomfort lead me to ask for the appointment to be brought forward. I was efficiently accommodated for an early inspection. The alternative treatment options were clearly presented and fully discussed. Although Paulo doesn't like to remove teeth if at all avoidable, this time we agreed extraction was the best choice as other options were at risk of not solving the problem long term. Four days later, the extraction was efficiently performed. I generally have a low pain threshold but I have to say it was just a bit uncomfortable, not painful at all. Post-operation procedures were clearly communicated, backed up by written instructions and a treatment pack.

Fantastic experience: A friendly welcome and I was impressed by the helpful advice I could immediately put to good use and that I shared with my family. The dentist, Paolo, was excellent, careful and kind. Moreover, both he and his assistant are skilled at putting patients at ease and making the visit as pleasant as possible.

Both times, I was seen promptly, treated with courtesy and warmth, and given all the information I requested. I have not needed any treatment so far but the routine examination was thorough and I got a lot of tips from the dentist. There was also enough time to ask questions. I definitely recommend.
