Negative experience: I feel compelled to write this review after a troubling series of events that occurred at this dental practice, where I’ve been a patient for many years. What I experienced reflects a concerning lack of accountability and care. I had a hygienist appointment booked as part of my regular dental routine. My teeth and gums were in good condition with no form of gingivitis or gum disease present. During the hygienist appointment this was also reiterated as they stated there was no inflammation or concerns in terms of overall dental health. However post this appointment, the day after my gums were swollen which was strange as this had never happened before. My gums began to bleed and I contacted the dental practise. They first stated this was normal after a cleaning, I refuted this and they stated they can see me in 2 weeks. I asked are they sure 2 weeks is a suitable timeframe as it is bleeding every day and surely 2 weeks would be excessive wait. I believe this was a lack of duty of care and this was a clear attempt at palming the problem away. Following this I rang up to book an appointment with the dentist. They agreed that it was inflamed but had no explanation why. I had asked why is their inflammation if I had a hygienist appointment two weeks ago and it only started after the appointment with my gums being healthy prior to it. Dr Parmer had no response. During my appointment he stated he would clean my teeth and remove any sources of inflammation and that was all that was explained to me. Later it became clear with my complaint that the treatment was done to me was not actually what was described as they had injected me and numbed me with no prior explanation or consent. Post this cleaning by the dentist my gums were black/blue which once again was extremely concerning since this has never happened before. I experienced extreme pain during the appointment further pointing to conflicting information in regards to being injected and what treatment had actually occured. In addition with the interdental papilla being more sensitive further leads to scope that this aggressive handling during treatment caused the recession. I rang the practise as I was distressed and was told that I would need to see the dentist who had done the treatment. However the earliest appointment would be in two weeks. Once again it came across as my concerns were not being taken seriously. Due to the delays I had to pay to be seen by another dentist at their burton branch. At the final stage I lodged a formal complaint which I then had to chase up to even solicit a response. The response to the complaint was essentially shifting blame to myself and stating gums recede due to inflammation. However as mentioned at multiple points, my gums were fine before the hygienist, during the hygienist he also stated my gums were fine, it's only after this did my gums become inflamed and subsequently after further treatment did they suffer significant recession of which is not the norm of a stable clean patient who has had regular checkups and cleans. This entire experience has been deeply disappointing. The lack of empathy, urgency, and responsibility shown has led me to lose trust in this practice after being a patient for many years. I will be moving to a different practise. While I understand the practice may focus on cosmetic treatments, general dental care should still be handled with diligence and respect. Patients who maintain regular hygiene and checkups should not experience this kind of deterioration without proper explanation or accountability. Nor should the blame be placed on me when I have taken every preventative measure in maintaining gum & teeth health.

Fantastic experience: Seriously the best dentist ever, having top implants done, I understand it’s a long process but Toni, Alisha, Andrew, and reception, have been there for me every step of the way, I am going to my nieces wedding in America and Toni has done me a temporary bridge so I can have my smile for the wedding, I seriously can’t thank you enough, not only that he came in especially today to get it fitted, that’s what I call 5 star treatment, he keeps me calm and understands I am nervous, absolutely amazing, this is why they are called dental perfection, thank you once again. Negative experience: This place is only interested in hygeinist bookings and selling cosmetic services. Pathetic if you have a real Dentist issue. I called for my dental abscess on 10 June 2025, lady on phone booked me for 12th June at 2:20 pm. When I arrived there after arrangements at work, the receptionist told me I had no booking at all !!! Definitely a no no if you want to register for real dental issues.

Positive experience: Mixed reviews for Derby practice should’ve been referred To Birmingham dental hospital over a year ago and I’ve had to chase it up myself. And after lots of phone calls, the referral has been sent over. Now to see if I get accepted for the NHS referral. Unfortunately, I cannot afford private root canal work.

Fantastic experience: Lovely professional place, went here for Invisalign treatment, and have now stayed as an nhs patient.

Negative experience: I agree with a lot of 1 star reviews here, poor customer service, ruthless upselling, offering money off your treatment if you give a 5 star review at the reception desk, and they check it's up then give you the discount. Add products to your bill you never agreed to and then don't finish your full treatment, and just kick you off the books despite having paid for full treatment they never finished like they did to my partner. Poor aftercare. Avoid for both NHS and invisalign treatment.

Negative experience: Disappointed! Went in for a routine filling. Arrived 10 mins early, had to wait an additional 15 minutes. Procedure went as planned, a few hours later suffered severe pain. Called to booked an appointment, no appointments for 4 days. I explained it was very painful but there was nothing they could do. When the dentist eventually saw me the impression I got from him, he thought that I was exaggerating the pain until he looked at the tooth he worked on and realised something isn’t right. After that appointment the pain subsided. I moved to a different dentist, I had my routine check up and they advised I do the filling again as it wasn’t done properly.

Fantastic experience: I had a lost filling with a bit of tooth, resulting in a poorly broken tooth: abscess risk and chance of extraction. Was referred to Iuilana Sofian at the Littleover Practice. She is a specialist, passionate about saving teeth. She saved mine! Root canal and filling 'reconstruction'. I found Iuilana personable, friendly, professional, very meticulous. Where art meets science. Epitomises the term 'Dental Perfection' (she happens to be very beautiful too ). This is a practice that has the people, the equipment and the passion to treat what you'd assume impossible. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: After biting the bullet and deciding to go ahead with investing in Invisalign treatment ahead of my wedding, I had the most fantastic course of treatment provided by Dental Perfection. The timescales I came to the practice with were ambitious but they worked with me every step of the way, ensuring they could fit my check-up appointments in and by tailoring a plan that would get my smile to the best place it could be in time for the wedding. Following the wedding, we then reverted to doing things slower to perfect everything and I'm delighted with the results. A really friendly reception team, Elisha - the treatment co-ordinator - who answered all of my many questions and ensured everything ran smoothly, and then Dr Tony who gave the best advice and treatment to suit my situation despite the challenge that my timescales presented. A brilliant, smiley team who took genuine interest in me and my reasons for wanting Invisalign. Thank you!

Positive experience: Myself and my son see Dr Jay at this practice. Always very friendly, cheerful and happy to answer any questions we may have without feeling rushed. My son on the autistic spectrum is very comfortable coming here.Jay is very patient and understanding.The other staff are also really friendly.The practice is spotless...very clean. The one thing I would like to point out tho is that they need more chairs in waiting room

Positive experience: Everyone's very polite and friendly, especially Dr Jay and the receptionists. Very clean with decent wait times, most of the time. Dr Jay has always been very patience with me during my appointments and reassures my about any worries i have. If i had to pick something i dont like it's that there is only about 5 chairs for people waiting and they are the round fancy type, with no backrest that are uncomfortable for long waits.

Negative experience: Dentist Tony is the most condescending, arrogant, self centred man i have ever come across. He talks down at you as if you are a schoolchild and his mocking sense of humour is absolute cringe. The numerous mistakes i have been subjected to from this surgery with his unexperienced staff is beyond belief. He is that self centred he doesn't even know how to apologise. Customer respect and care is non existent, this should be the forefront of any business.... Tony would rather crawl under a stone than face up to mistakes. they lack ethical values for a customer facing business. The turnaround in staff speaks volumes... apart from odd desperate ones..... Whilst the surgery is new and well equipped ....the content heavily missing. There is life after this dentist trust me, just wish i had done it sooner. s my heart bleeds having to give this even a 1 star. After submitting my review Dr Taunk rang me at 2030hrs at home threatening me to remove my review, and when he realised that Im no walkover he rudely slammed the phone down on me. This is a very intimidating approach and most of all extremely unprofessional ! To think he has staff to deal with matters like this during standard office hours….? No professional individual should ever call a customer out of office hours displaying such unethical bullying behaviour towards customers. Thank you Tony you’ve just confirmed my opinion of you. It does beg the question does he ring everyone who leaves a negative review Btw the new dentist is awesome ALWAYS REMAIN HUMBLE ………

Fantastic experience: Fantastic dentist and hygienist. Dr Tony did a great job as well as Elisha with my Invisalign treatment. The results are better than expected. The package was worth the cost,for those hesitating, you get multiple hygiene visits,composite bonding, whitening and regular visits with unlimited aligners if needed. Elisha was very quick to respond for any questions and Dr Tony's advice on my teeth shape and the plan was really well put together. He is also upfront at the beginning to what you will be able to achieve with your smile. Appointments are efficient and quick so you don't spend too much time off work, which is a bonus for myself as a chiropractor.All in all, really good,I even got a free tube for whitening afterwards.Great job guys!

I have suffered with problems for a long time and didn't have any confidence within my smile.. but after my first visit I felt at ease and very comfortable from start to finish. And by the end of my treatment I felt amazing and couldn't believe the difference in my smile and in myself! After the amazing care from my dentist and the great staff I feel myself again. ☺️ so I thank you all so much
