Negative experience: I called the clinic to book my very first appointment and hoped for a bit of guidance, since I wasn’t familiar with the process. Instead, the person who answered rudely told me she had other things to do and couldn’t stay on the call to explain the options. The call lasted under two minutes, and I was left feeling dismissed and unwelcome. First impressions matter, and unfortunately, this one was disappointing. I'm glad I experienced their true values early on, though, and will definitely look for another clinic. I genuinely wish the person I spoke to all the best - she didn’t seem happy in her role or life, and I truly hope things improve for her. Life is too beautiful to go through it so miserably.

Fantastic experience: I never feel nervous coming here regarding my dental health which isn't the best as the dentists, nurses and reception team are so nice and friendly - today I saw Tony and his nurse Kumari and they honestly make you feel so at ease as well as being extremely gentle. I come out of there feeling like I've just been to see a couple of old friends and not the dreaded visit to the dentist

Negative experience: Had a mirror shined at my teeth and then told to spend 4.5k on teeth straightening. Didn’t check anything properly. Also said I was to see the hygienist first but when I got there they said dentist first. Felt like a huge scam and won’t be going there again. Have been a customer for 10 years prior

Fantastic experience: Friendly and efficient service overall. Of course, most important is that you are happy with the dentist's and hygienist's work and communication / explanation, and that's very good. But I also like the other aspects like being able to book appointments online, getting a little printout when you are booking an appointment at the counter, the efficient way how they do COVID checks, that they are not charging you deposits as I have seen elsewhere. Very happy that I have found this dentist.

Fantastic experience: It is the best dental practice I have ever been to north or south of England and this one has looked after me for over 24 years. It is still extremely good and they will do their utmost to help you. I'm now 78 and , in my view because of regular hygienist care, my teeth and gums are still healthy. The same goes for my husband Simeon. The Dentists Dr Alex Jabour and and Dr Malcolm Farr are there for you. Health and welfare are their top priorities. Our hygienist Daria is excellent, as is head receptionist Keisha. Thanks to all the team.

Fantastic experience: Alex Jabour is the ONLY dentist i trust. Always brilliant. I am an extremely nervous patient with lots of historical trauma as grew up with dentistry in the 1970s. Alex is very understanding. Also have to say that Daria the hygenist is amazing.. Would highly recommend both for nervous patients like me. Receptionist are also lovely and welcoming. So happy with Castelnau Dentists.

Today was my regular session with Daria one of the hygienists who is really thorough - minimum discomfort and responsive to any reflex on my part. I had an X-rays for my wisdom tooth also had been checked for my other teeth as well. She explained my problems and asked me to see what we could ve done better for me . I asked for a second opinion about an expensive and intrusive procedure that another dentist said I needed to have done, and was told that I don’t need it at all by Castelnau Dentists. So, a very cost- effective switch of dentists. And very happy with the service and practice in general.

Fantastic experience: For my wife and myself this was our first visit. Bright premises with pleasant smiling receptionists. The warm reception carried through to the consultation room where we both had a thorough new patient examination. Follow up options were pleasantly explained without any pressure to decide immediately. We both left feeling confident that we have found a practice worth staying with.

Fantastic experience: Relieved to find an NHS dentist near to where I live that is available for routine appointments and emergency appointments so quickly. I appreciate the advice on flossing which my neurodivergent brain and fillings are not fond of. I'm aware in my 40s how important it is to keep my teeth for as long as possible as I age.

Always ready to help with very helpful, respectful receptionists & dentists. Always seem to have NHS appointments at a very convenient time and take patient’s emergencies seriously.Well done .

Positive experience: Edit: the Practice Manager did call me to personally apologise for the incident which I appreciated so I have upgraded my review to 4 stars. I've been here twice before for check ups and both times my experience was fine - nothing too warm and welcoming, and the dentist was quite late once, but professional enough for me to continue booking appointments. Today however I was extremely disappointed by the lack of courtesy shown by the receptionist. I had an 8am appointment booked and received a call 15 mins prior, which I unfortunately missed. When I returned the call at 8am I was informed that it had been cancelled due to the dentist being unwell. This was understandable but the manner in which I was told was quite rude, and the receptionist claimed that she had left me a voicemail which I never received. Seeing as I was bringing my two very young children (one of whom was supposed to see the dentist and was very nervous about it so I had spent days preparing her) I asked the receptionist if I could be seen by another dentist which she said was not possible. I then asked her if, in future, I could be warned of cancelled appointments further in advance. What followed was the receptionist launching into a nonsensical tirade about how she had also driven through early morning traffic to reach the surgery only to find out that the dentist was not able to come in, and how she hadn't even set anything up but called me first. I fail to see how her difficulties in reaching her place of work and carrying out the duties she is paid to do are related to my request for avoiding inconvenience in the future - at no point did I indicate that I was blaming her. It seems to me that a well established practice would either have better protocols in place for dealing with last minute unwell employees, or at the very least, have receptionists who show a little more sympathy towards the inconvenienced patients who pay for their treatment. Her attitude left a very bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended) and frankly, I was very surprised and disappointed to be spoken to like that.

Fantastic experience: It's been now at least 3 years I have been going to Castelnau Dentists and I am very satisfied with the services they offer. They are very professional and would definitely reccomend them to anyone looking for a good dentist and hygenist.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Castelnau Dentists for about fifteen years, and despite moving away from the immediate area ten years ago I always come back. I wouldn't consider moving to another practice closer to home as I have always found the treatment I receive here first-rate, and the friendliness of the staff couldn't be bettered anywhere. I'm sure that goes for all the staff although I nearly always deal with Tony, Kumari and Keisha ... and these three people are just lovely, so kind and helpful. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: My husband recommended this clinic. He said he’s very happy with the service they provide here. I haven’t been to a dentist since 2019 and now I ’m 28 weeks pregnant. I needed to get some white fillings done so I went to see dr Malcolm who was extremely friendly but 100% professional at the same time. He explained everything while he was working on my teeth and did a great job! He fixed 4 of my teeth on the right side and I’m back next week to get another 3 done on the left. I’m not nervous at all as I couldn’t feel a thing and I didn’t experience any sensitivity either since then. The other positive thing was that they didn’t keep me waiting, what’s more I was even called in 10 minutes before my appointment which has never happened anywhere else before. My husband said that they never kept him waiting either. The receptionist ladies are also really lovely, helpful, patient and very welcoming. This is truly the best dental clinic my husband and I have ever been in.
