Fantastic experience: simply the best in Barnsley, everyone is super attentive and very professional.

Negative experience: After being a patient of theirs for almost 20 years, I feel compelled to share a serious incident that occurred on February 29th 2024. During my examination, their chair completely tipped over backwards, causing me to fall backwards, hit my head and neck against the wall, and land on the floor. This resulted in documented injuries. I have been provided with the practice's conflicting accounts. Despite neither the Dentist nor Nurse apparently seeing the accident (according to their insurance company's letter), their written accident report incorrectly claims I 'pushed back to alter body position' and their insurance response also falsely speculates I 'thrust upwards from the legs' causing the chair to fall - neither of which is true. Their own accident report recommended 'Bolting chair to floor' to prevent similar accidents. The examination chairs in question, only purchased in December 2023, have since been removed from service. Their handling of this incident has left me with no choice but to instruct solicitors and I will be reporting this to the General Dental Council (GDC), Care Quality Commission (CQC), Trading Standards, and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). This has also forced me to find another dentist. I'm sharing this experience so other patients can make informed decisions about their safety. This matter is subject to legal proceedings and I will provide an update when I am able to share further details about the outcome.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been visiting Churchfield Dental routinely for about 5 years. When I wanted to have a new smile that I could be confident with I asked them for a review and costing. I had 9 appointments in total to achieve the smile I wanted and the end result is natural looking and has increased my confidence immensely. Everyone at the clinic seemed to be invested in my treatment, a huge thank you to Jonathan who understood what I was looking for and was the one who made it happen. Negative experience: All they want to do is give you a hygiene! My partner was told he could not have a filling before having his 3rd hygiene of the year and it resulted in him having to have the tooth removed. Just a money making place that doesn’t put their clients needs first! I’ve never known a place refuse a filling before a hygiene even though like I previously stated he had numerous before this and they would only do half the mouth at a time!

I pay monthly in the practice plan which helps manage the cost of routine dental care and discounts off treatments. I had some cosmetic dentistry done about 8 years ago by Caroline and it’s still great to this day!

Fantastic experience: No one’s really enjoys going to the dentist….well, I’m assuming…but Churchfield Dental centre takes the stress away from the experience in superb premises with excellent friendly staff. Shame about the owner…..only joking David. What a top tier Dentist Mr Hilton is….his laid back manner helps me to relax but rest assured your teeth are his number one priority. “I’ll be back in a tick….don’t go anywhere” is his catch phrase for want of a better word…..it makes me laugh every time I’m in the chair just after I’ve had my dose of novocaine.

Having come from a local NHS dentist and the problems I had there, I having nothing but good things to say about this team, from the greeting you receive when walking in, the approachable nature of everyone working there and the fact they have never caused me any pain or anxiety. they say you should always look after your teeth and they certainly have mine. Since being introduced to CDC a number of years ago under the care of Dr Hilton and staff I have never looked back nor considered to venture anywhere else. Whereas before I was very self conscious of the state of my teeth, now personally I have no inhibitions whatsoever with greater confidence in discussions with people without the embarrassment. I will never be able to thank them enough for my transformation.

The receptionist was very friendly and explained everything to me. I arrived to my appointment and was greeted my lovely friendly staff.
