Sherwood Dental Care

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient as this practice for some years. The staff are efficient, friendly and helpful. My dentist, Mayur Patel, is brilliant and has kept my teeth viable and healthy for far longer than I thought possible given my age and medical history. The inevitable happened, however, and he advised that I needed lower implants and referred me to Abdul Nasser and his team. I was nervous about this, but having now had the extensive work done, I cannot speak highly enough of the experience. Abdul went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and pain free. He is extremely skilled at his job and surrounded by people equally skilled in Gurj the technician, dental nurses Katie and Lauren and the wonderful Fatima who ensured the whole process was smooth from start to finish. If you need similar work undertaken, I cannot recommend this practice and these staff highly enoug Fantastic job and by the way the teeth look great! Thank you, David Wilson

Fantastic experience: I have always had a good experience here. The dentist I see , Mayur, is compassionate and caring. The receptionists are friendly and professional (Shout out to Lucy who is great at her job). I have a wonderful Hygenist, also called Lucy, who makes, what could be a distressing experience, a relaxing one. Great practice

Negative experience: Lovely hygienist, but too strict at reception. Was 7 minutes late for an appointment and they cancelled it. Told me I should’ve rang them but I was driving. Took me about 5 minutes to find somewhere to park and the traffic was bad. Overall had to waste 2 hours of my morning for nothing when I should’ve been working. I get they don’t want people to be late but these things happen.

Negative experience: Basically charged 52 for antibiotics and having my mouth looked at for a few minutes. Wish I was given pain killers before I was sent home for the unbearable pain I’m in

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend this place enough. Has a person that didn't go to the dentist for years because of a bad experience when I was younger Sherwood Dental care has measured and given me the confidence to not fear the dentist again. Eve was the lovely lady that helped me with my fear. She is so patient and gentle I have and will continue to recommend this Dentist. to everyone. To anyone that has a fear or to parents with young children fear no more . This place is for you. To all at Sherwood dental especially Eve and the the lovely hygienist that I saw today again thank you.. Continue doing what you do.

Fantastic experience: I went for an emergency appointment after terrible pain in a root canal, as soon as I walked in, every receptionist made an effort to say hello and provided me with all the information I needed with care and clarity. After a short wait, Pooja and Melissa were dealing with my problem with professionalism and care - sometimes you go into dentists feeling a bit judged about your problems but not here - Pooja and Melissa got straight on it, gave me options and handled the issue straight away. Since then my recovery has been the best and I have been in little to no pain within a 24 hour period. Thank you all!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this Dentist for as long as I remember but I went for a routine checkup and hygienist appointment and was blown away by the quality of the service on this particular visit. Both Eve and Lucy and their assistants were incredible. The care, chat and thoroughness was couldn’t recommend them enough!

Negative experience: Absolute joke so 1st charge me £49 for the appointment advised me to go threw nhs and said i need antibiotics was in the room all of a min and then tried to charge me £64 for a thew tablets absolute disgusting making extortion of people pain. Lies in your reply you never told me that i was told i would have to pay for further treatment not that i would have to pay for the appointment i had allready paid £49 witch states that £49 is for the appointment and xray but i would have to pay for further treat meant so dont twist your words. To make your selfs look good your a joke. Whats that say £49 for my assessment and xray. Only further treatment you offered was antibiotics for £64.

Negative experience: I was a private patient. I went there and I regret to this day. They extract the tooth , left the roots, the quality of filling which is the easiest thing to do for a dentist.. the dentist didn't clean properly tooth before putting the filling. I was ok when I was registered there until I had a problem with tooth ( that was already treated obviously in sherwood) and I went to the different dentist because I knew that the dentist from sherwood didn't do it properly at the first time and I lost the trust. I paid all these money for redoing the job again.

Positive experience: Yesterday I attended to see the dental hygienist. The practitioner is good. However, through no fault of her own, the polisher was broken which I had not been informed of by reception staff although they apparently knew about it. Therefore, I could nor have the full treatment. Furthermore, whilst in the treatment room, a dental nurse kept walking in and out of he room on four occasions What she was doing, who knows, but it was very ntrusive and also embarrassing for the hygienist.. I thought it most inappropriate and all in all a poor experience.

Fantastic experience: I've been a patient for 30+ years and I've only received outstanding treatment and service from the dentists, hygienists, and dental nursing staff.

Negative experience: Awful. Worst dentist I've ever been to. No name, no introduction. Misidentified wisdom tooth, missed a filling, didn't use a dental pick. Missed a loose piece of tooth. Said dental work beyond his capabilities, go to his recommended clinic for £20,000 work. Pointed chip tooth out, he pulled it, and left a sharp point to cut my mouth. Awful, useless.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic dental practice with wonderfully gentle, caring and understanding staff. The energy of the place is incredibly calming and enjoyable (coming from someone with severe health anxiety!) I came here for a second opinion after another practice tried to upsell me unnecessary treatment and I was reassured my teeth were wonderful and that I was doing all the right things to keep them healthy. Dr Snehali Patel & Hygienist Christine are absolutely amazing individuals who take the time to talk you through your appointment, will listen to your concerns and create a comfortable and gentle environment. Communication is excellent and all questions were answered with the most professional knowledge. I’m so grateful to have found such a lovely dentist and I highly, highly recommend them to anyone who needs extra support for anxiety. A nod to the receptionist staff & assistants too who are genuinely lovely and kind people. Everyone I’ve spoken with in this practice are so wonderful. I’ve never felt so cared about at a dentist before now. :)

Negative experience: They are more money focused than treatment. Wouldn't recommend. You loose your deposits of £100 if you call to reschedule your appointment how is that justified. I went in to inquire about an implant but they spent the whole time about everything else and how much it will cost and nothing about my implant.

Fantastic experience: I will admit, like many I'm not a fan of dentists but this place is the best I've been to. From walking through the door to treatment I was made to feel at ease. During my first consultation everything was explained thoroughly and all options made available for my choice with absolutely no pressure whatsoever I will be returning soon to have work done and will leave another review about treatment, but so far I am definitely positive about my dental future

Fantastic experience: Had my first dentist appointment for a numbers of years due to bad experiences in the past, but I can happily say Sherwood Dental Care has restored my faith in dentists. I saw Eve who was wonderful, she made me feel at ease with no judgement and explained everything thoroughly. Thankfully can say that the outcome was not as bad as I was anticipating and actually semi-looking forward to my next appointment to start getting things fixed.

Fantastic experience: By the time I found Sherwood Dental, I needed a lot of help. I had been to several dentists in the preceeding 6 months but had not committed to a dental plan, despite desperately needing one! My sister had visited Sherwood Dental needing similar treatment to me. She told me how at ease the team at Sherwood Dental had made her feel. I knew this was what I was missing from other dentists and why I hadn't made a commitment to proceed with increasingly necessary treatment. I made an appointment. That was 6 months ago. My fear of the dentist has genuinely subsided. I am halfway through my treatment plan. Everyone on the team are professional, supportive and most of all they listen to the patient. 5 stars. I am so happy, I have passed the details for this practice on to multiple friends and family.

Fantastic experience: If I could give more stars I would, genuinely the best dentist I've ever been to, level of care was amazing, the dentist calmed me and explained everything, I had an extraction and didn't feel anything first time ever defiantly will be back for check ups refuse to use anywhere else now

Negative experience: I came to the dentist at lunchtime, the dentist was 20 minutes late to see me and I was told I should have booked an emergency appointment for a filling and I was asked to come again later in the afternoon. When I came to my second I was stuck in traffic and ran to the appointment. I called them in advance to let them know I would be 5 minutes late. I was told by a very smug and rude receptionist that I would not be seen, I asked to be booked in later and was told no. Frankly the service is appalling and my usual dentist at the Campbell clinic I have never had this type of service, I had to drive around for 2 hours only to not be treated at all - luckily it was not an emergency. There are much better dentists in Nottingham do not join Sherwood.

Fantastic experience: Very happy with Sherwood Dental Care to date after two crowns and one root canal treatment. Dr Mayur Patel is very friendly and reassuring and explains the treatments well.

Positive experience: Oh behalf of mother in law. Can't fault service or staff but no wheelchair access which makes it difficult. Perhaps a ramp and a power assisted door with button to make entry easier.

Fantastic experience: I have just had an implant done by Dr Abdul Naseer, he was so lovely and professional throughout the whole thing and he explained everything in full which made the process a lot easier and less stressful! Thank you so much, I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for an implant, I was very nervous at first but Abdul and his assistant (I’m so sorry I didn’t catch your name) were amazing! Also, my regular dentist is Dr Mayur, he is so amazing too!! I really trust Sherwood dental care with my teeth and they are all so friendly!

Negative experience: Patronising and unhelpful not sure the dentist could be arsed poor behaviour considering it’s a private dentist. Didn’t give me any guidance on what the next steps were unlike most detists who would draw up a plan do not recommend this place whatsoever.

Fantastic experience: First time at Sherwood Dental care this last week. Very efficient and knowledgeable reception staff. Lovely dentist for check up an hygienist was brilliant as I was terrified. Highly recommend the practice.

Fantastic experience: I had root canal on a upper back molar by a specialist dentist - she was brilliant - made me feel at ease from the moment I walked Into the room. She explained the procedure every step of the way which made me feel informed and comfortable. she was so gentle when Injecting the anaesthetic - I did not feel a thing - I was given aftercare and told I may have some soreness for the next few days - I’m on day 2 now and I have had no soreness or pain at all. Very happy with this dentist and would definitely recommend. I’m an NHS patient and was told a root canal on a molar tooth is not covered by NHS and the alternative would be to have it extracted. This wasn’t an option for me as I would struggle to eat .The cost for this root canal treatment was £650.I guess this is something that needs to be addressed to NHS rather than the dentist - I didn’t shop around so I can’t say if this was an average cost when you go private. Overall great practice . All the ladies on reception are lovely and friendly and do the most to accomodate.

Fantastic experience: Called first thing and got an emergancy appointment, was issued with antibiotics and was seen the following week for a tooth extraction. I've not been to the dentist in years and had developed a huge anxiety towards it. I was shaking, crying and also in a lot of pain. Every person I spoke to was absolutely lovely!! From the receptionists to the dentist and their assistants. I was seen by Katie when I had the tooth out, throughout the whole process she was calming me down and helping me with my breathing. Her wonderful assistant Georgia even offered to hold my hand! I want to say thank you to you all, I had worked myself up so much for that appointment and you all being so caring helped massively!!! :) You do a fantastic job!!

Negative experience: They are very nice people, but the business model should be changed. I had a severe pain on the weekend, I asked for an urgent appointment, which I got after 3 days. I paid 35 pounds for consultation and XR. my problem was recognised, and I needed to see another specialist dentist for root canal treatment. I was told I should pay another 50 pounds for a second consultation after 2 weeks just to say the same and to get a third appointment to get my problem fixed. The receptionist tried hard to help me but the whole business model is wrong and makes people suffer and wait long.

Negative experience: Travelled all the way from Clifton, to be told the dentist couldn’t do my filling, the receptionist then proceeded to tell the dentist “i couldn’t afford” my treatment.. and i had to correct her! Absolutely wild behaviour from someone who is the face of the company, she didn’t attempt to even call me to explain i couldn’t have the filling done, her excuse was “sorry he only told me 10 mins ago” still she could have called instead of wasting my time! The dentist here are FANTASTIC! The one receptionist is very unprofessional

Fantastic experience: I was in terrible pain. Infection and abcess. Tooth needed extraction. Rang 8.30am got apmnt for 10. Dentist was lovely. Treated me there and then. Very reassuring and really cared. Thank you Mr Heal my treatment was absolutely amazing. Been with this practice over 20 yrs. This is why. The reception lady was really helpful. Thank goodness for their first class service. NHS patient very happy and grateful to be seen and treated today thank you.

Fantastic experience: I’m an incredibly anxious person when it comes to the dentist, but the staff here are second to none - they make you feel so comfortable and are really great at helping you manage your anxiety symptoms. I had 3 fillings in one session and the dentist walked me through what he was doing step my step so I wasn’t taken by surprise, and he kept checking in to make sure I was okay/ask if I needed a break. I’d certainly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a reliable dentist.

Fantastic experience: Lady's at reception are very helpful and polite, giving help when needed without any bother. Always smiling and positive. The dentist and dental nurses are very reassuring and supportive. They go through each step with you as to what they are doing next. This is very reassuring to me as I have a phobia of having dental treatments.

Negative experience: New clients or nervous clients, be aware. I had an appointment 29th January 2.10pm, after check up, I was about to be given the lecture (I know my gums are not the greatest etc) so I stopped it and was polite. I needed to get back home as soon as possible as my husband may need medical treatment (ambulance called). However, the dentist didn't like it all. They have a duty of care at the practice. They should be encouraging me, not downgrade me, especially when I don't like dentists at & when I was about 9 or 10 years old, I had a really bad experience with a dentist. I also have a hidden disability. The manager of this practice gave a very dark look when i went to pay at reception . Christina the hygienist is the only one I trust. She's excellent, keeps me calm whilst she does her work.

Receptionist Laura and Lucy were very helpful as I had not filled my form out so needed help doing this when I arrived. Dentist Sney lovely and talked through everything I needed to know. Fantastic experience: Been coming to sherwood dental for about 8 yrs. All staff are polite and very helpful. Eve is my dentist and she's absolutely amazing. As a nervous patient I was put at ease from day one, I used to have panic attacks even thinking about my appointments but now I have no issues. I can't thank them enough for all my treatment.

Negative experience: Be sure to scroll past the collection of fake reviews or sort by lowest to get the real deal. If you don't believe me then ask yourself how they have 400 reviews when all the other local ones have less than 100. Regarding your reply Maria - I did get in touch with you, I was treated really badly. You buy google reviews and that's why they're good, why have you got so many more reviews than any of your local competitors?

Fantastic experience: I have to say this is the best dentist I have ever been to. I am the world's worst for the dentist, I was so scared. Now I go on my own. The treatment I received was next to none. The staff are so understanding and patient, nothing is too much. They go at your pace so you don't feel rushed or anxious. Thank you all for the treatment I received and your understanding of my phobia. Also for my being able to smile again it's the best thing ever.

Fantastic experience: Made an emergency appointment on emerdency website for this place, wasn't sure what to expect as I'm a bit nervous of dentistry (like a lot of folk) had read some really good reviews but saw some bad ones too so was a little unsure... But I found the whole thing great, the dentist (whom I've forgotten their name, tho I think it was Karan, apologies if wrong!..) was a very friendly professional reassuring gent who I felt was patient attentive and reassuring, I even questioned the outcome (that I was fine!) and he took the time and regloved to take a second look without any hesitation and plainly explained the x-ray to me so I had no doubt.... Was such a good experience; I'm planning on signing up to them permanently Thank you

Negative experience: I came here for teeth straightening and whitening and I'm not happy with the results. The treatment has finished and a few of my teeth still aren't straight, including one that is noticeably not straight. I didn't expect perfection but I definitely expected better than the results I have received for the price paid. I felt rushed to complete the treatment. I also had some of my lower teeth filed to remove the Mamelons and the filing left my teeth uneven, they ended up worse than they were before. The staff here are very nice and they give good customer service, and the dentist was friendly, however the actual results from the treatment just aren't good enough and I don't recommend going here for teeth straightening.

Fantastic experience: Excellent first visit examination with a very caring and informative dentist who took the time to explain everything in detail such as the xrays and showed me exactly the areas which need attention. He then asked if I had any further questions or concerns before discussing and agreeing a dental plan with me. We already have a plan and I'm happy with the advice received leading up to my follow up visits.I I'd read the reviews which prompted my visit having left my old dentist and can now agree that this surgery deserves the high rating it has! Happy to be a new patient here and would highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Very nervous patient and this is the second time I have had to come for treatment. Seen Katie and she is brilliant with me, not battered an eye about me needing headphones and fidget items. Treatment was pain free ( 2 fillings ) . Hopefully I’ll eventually overcome my phobia of dentists now I’m seeing Katie

Fantastic experience: Hello, my last appointment was with the dentist Rasha and i promised i would leave feedback but have not had the chance till now. Just to say she took the time to listen and ask how i wanted to proceed by ,discussing the situation, as well as taking her time to make sure things were right and making sure i was alright with the filling she had done. I was very happy with the way i was treated.

Negative experience: Used to go to this practice and it was good. Due to health issue I missed appointment and they were quick to remove me from NHS and offered me private treatment instead. Despite contacting them several times e the do not support people with DISABILITIES specifically me tal health issues. Very disappointed Update on the response: First of all it wasn't 5 appointment that was missed it was 2 maybe 3 and it was due to depression and was unable to leave the house. I explained this thoroughly through email which you didn't get back to me. The point was your family run practice (which I don't believe is a family run) ignoring people with special need and more importantly people with DISABILITIES. My advice is rather than wishing people to find NHS dentist actual investigations ti.e and money to train your staff to deal with these matter thoroughly! Not everyone can afford private treatments!

Fantastic experience: Katie is my dentist and she is lovely. I had avoided dentists for around 10 years before joining sherwood dental but I ended up having an infection and needed a tooth removing. This filled me with panic and dread but I was in a lot of pain so proceeded with the extraction, due to the large filling it was classed as a complex extraction. I went to my appointment in tears because I was so scared but Katie and her assistant really relaxed me and she had the tooth out within 2 minutes and it healed beautifully, I didn’t even need pain killers once the numbness wore off. Fast forward 2 years and I’ve just had a removal of a very old filling and a new filling put in ( years ago this procedure would of scared me) I can’t actually believe how relaxed I was during the treatment. I avoided dentists for 10 years because of previous traumatic history with dentists but with Katie I find the dentists visits quite relaxing. I pay private and it can be expensive but I’ve found a dentist who I’m not scared of seeing and I can maintain good oral health which previously I didn’t. I’ve also met with other dentists at the practice for example emergency appointments and each has been really kind and lovely. I recommend all my friends and family here and I’m happy my child can have a positive view of the dentist growing up.

Fantastic experience: Tina is by far the best hygienist I've ever used!! She leaves my teeth sparkling every time and her attention to detail is superior compared to other hygienists out there. I couldn't recommend her enough. Thank you Tina!!

Fantastic experience: I suffer with really bad anxiety so going to the dentist isn’t great for me. But I had to go. And honestly from the first check up to having two fillings I can’t thank this dentist enough. Sorry I didn’t get the names but The few girls I spoke to on reception were all nice and caring which helped me. But a massive thank you to dr Snehali Patel and her assistant who did my check up and fillings. She was so caring and very much aware of my anxiety and did everything to calm me down and assure me everything was fine. She’s a Huge credit to the dentist and can’t thank her enough. She’s amazing.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic service! Friendly and helpful staff (both over the phone and in person) with a kind and knowledgeable dentist. I booked an emergency appointment for the next day, and there was no waiting time, the scheduled time was met and the service and advice totally sound and transparent. I booked for the required procedure in a few weeks, however was called and offered an earlier appointment. Just really great service! I'd highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Booked an emergency appointment online at 3am & got an appointment the same day at 4pm. Friendly staff & the dentist i got (didnt get his name) was great! Efficient,great at his job & compassionate to the fact i have a fear of the dentist. Im considering signing up as a private patient as my dentist have took me off the list & this one is far better anyway
