Fantastic experience: This has been my dentist since the mid 1980’s, & although the dentist & staff have changed over the years, I’ve always had nice, helpful dentists. Jian is lovely, always polite, gentle & friendly ☺️

Negative experience: I’ve been attending this dentist for over 30 years, when Alison and Robert ran this surgery it was absolutely amazing the care and kindness was always shown. They always helped with ANY DENTAL WORK I needed and have never hurt me physically or mentally . However since they have left there is no care no work done and a check up is a prod of the gums. They refuse to do dental work stating it’s all cosmetic even about my 12 year olds daughter over crowded mouth.

I now after years of bad looking and rotten teeth, I now have a brilliant white smile thankyou so so much hampshire terrace dentle. I would also like to thank my dentist at present, who is tony he is amazing he is always so gentle with treatment and always explains every procedure before and after. Fantastic experience: The receptionists always try their best to give you an appointment as soon as possible. I got my last non-urgent one just within a week! The dentists are friendly, skilled, diligent and spend lots of time to explain procedures. I recommend this practice.

My most recent appointment was with dentist Chun-wei and they had such a calm and relaxing approach, I didn't feel scared or stressed and that is so appreciated and valued. My hygienist who I have seen previously - James is similar in a compassionate approach. Which makes the world of difference. Thank you to both and the whole team. I no longer dread my dental visit.

Fantastic experience: I saw the hygienist for a 40 minute appointment today, as I have some gum disease. She cleaned my teeth thoroughly as a preventative measure, to help the gum disease resolve. She was kind and considerate of my comfort. She gave me advice on using interdental brushes, including which size to use. She explained the importance of cleaning below the gumline, She demonstrated how to explaining my tooth and bone structures on my xrays. She also took time to show me exactly how to use a small brush to clean beneath the gums, using a model to demonstrate. She then recommended a suitable special brush to suit my needs. I feel I'm ready to up my tooth cleaning routine and hope I can keep up with what she advised.

Fantastic experience: James is an asset to the practice - he is extremely professional and personable. He is particularly good at making you feel comfortable, checking in throughout the appointment to make sure you are okay and happy with the work he’s doing. My teeth always look good as new after my hygienist appointments with him.

Positive experience: I"m sure the dental care here is good, but, and we have used this practice and its antecedents for well over 30 years, it is now a pretty miserable experience in the reception area, which is gloomy, crowded and shabby. A trip to the dentist is bad enough...

Negative experience: Sadly, although I am normally very happy after leaving my actual dentist (in fact I have never had one single issue after any of the dentist appointments at the surgery in the 5 or 6 years I have been a patient here with my 3 children) when asked to see the hygienist for a visit at my surgery, I came away feeling quite differently. The hygienist noticed the gums around my lower front teeth were slightly inflamed and asked me if I would like her to numb the area slightly whilst she cleaned that area, and asked for numbing cream from the dental nurse. The hygienist applied the numbing cream, which was fine. She did not however emphasise that this would be followed by three injections NOR did she prepare me before shoving a needle in my mouth. Normally such stages of movements or actions are pre-announced to patients, but very little was said, it was not even emphasised there would be an injection, and I actually thought that numbing cream was the only stage of the procedure - especially as I haven’t had many procedures done at the dentist in the whole of my 48 years. In fact it took me so much by surprise that it made me jump when suddenly a needle was in my mouth. I suffer with anxiety, and depression and the whole appointment has left me feeling very confused and upset at why I wasn’t talked through this whole episode better because I was not prepared. My 10 year old son noticed when I got home that my mouth was cut and he thought it was still bleeding and it upset him. I am shocked and upset that I have been treated in this way. I am meant to see a hygienist again but no way am I seeing this person again AND having to pay for the privilege when money is such a juggle on my own with 3 children. I have been asked for feedback by text, and being that I discovered AFTER my appointment that my mouth had been cut, but nothing said, no apology, I have decided to speak out about this, because I don’t feel that this is correct treatment towards any patient and it must not happen to somebody else.

Fantastic experience: I’m very anxious seeing a dentist and this place is fantastic for putting you at ease, explaining everything before treatment and being very professional - yet caring. I highly recommend this dentist, hands down the best dentist in the area. All staff are very friendly and welcoming.

They have supported with difficult treatments such as a difficult tooth extraction for my 11yr old son who was really grateful as they explained everything that would happen and stopped when he needed a break. Although it was a tough experience they were brilliant with him and he felt better once sorted. 100% recommend

Positive experience: Went for a wisdom tooth filling. Instantly put at ease by professional caring people. Completely painless following strategically placed injections to numb the work. All completed within half hour. Couldn't have asked for more.

Positive experience: The worst experience I have ever had. I had composite filling a week ago and it was the most painful filling process I’ve ever had. After that process, my teeth and gum have been feeling painful while I am eating till today. Today, one of my teeth was chipped which is beside the tooth that the filling was done on. This happened while eating noodle (soft food) without meat just eggs. The dentist was really rough and she didn’t handle my gum and teeth gently. She was really unprofessional. The experience wasn’t worth the price. Edited: They contacted me back and had a look at my teeth. This time I booked with another dentist and she polished and adjusted my uneven surface tooth. I was feeling good after that. Then, I also had a small composite filling and I felt okay and not painful this time. She took care of me and handled my tooth gently.

Negative experience: I have a lot a problems with my teeth. The Dentist suggested to put a filling on one of my teeth, but after i done it the filling was dark color NOT WHITE which looks awful to me and cost £70 .

I’m long term dental phobic but for the first time in 20 years I went to the dentist today and realised I hadn’t experienced false tooth pain in the week running up to the appointment. Following a poor experience with a different dentist I’ve always been very nervous of dentists. The whole team I’ve seen at Hampshire Terrace have been very sympathetic and respectful over the years and my newest dentist Kemi has a lovely manner. She’s very clear in her explanations, sensitive to the patient and highly professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them, particularly for nervous patients.

Fantastic experience: I've been attending this dentist for over 20 years. They are first class, very caring and up to date with techniques. Yesterday when I arrived to book in, I was greeted by the two receptionists wearing goggles ! They were promoting a box of free goggles and trying to make their fellow workers laugh. Positive experience: The receptionist was unhelpful and off hand when I phoned to postpone a regular appointment with the hygienist due to a cold sore. I had to wait an extra month for the treatment I needed instead of being offered the next available appointment. The treatment was therefore more extensive than it could have been had I been seen at an earlier date.
