Fantastic experience: Dr Katerina Farreira has helped me over the past 4 months to deal with my teeth and has been a superb dentist. I had two teeth extracted yesterday and did not feel a thing. Confidence has returned in going to the dentist, and will keep to regular visits in future.

Fantastic experience: I saw Dr Chan for a filling, which was a positive experience. He was polite, explaining everything, asking if I had any questions. He gave me treatment options and was good at emphasising important points. During the procedure he kept asking how I was, and even gave me the option to have or refuse a local anaesthetic which has not always been the case in the past with other dentists.

On arrival he will go through the process with you and also during the process he will check that your not in any discomfort, he also gives you information on the tools he uses and will explain how this may feel… couldn’t ask for more.

Fantastic experience: Went for a checkup couple of weeks ago my dentist recommended some non-essential but beneficial work to be done. Decided to go ahead and the service provided was fantastic and they maximised the cost efficiency for me. Simply cannot fault the attitude and customer care and service.

Positive experience: Usually have no issue with this practice even though it seems to me to be a different dentist and technician each time I visit. I try to keep regular checkups and have a new Electric toothbrush and a Philips water flossers. But.. the dentist today I found to be rude. Curt and blunt and seemingly distracted back a screen or maybe even his phone behind my head that kept pinging. His attitude, general demeanor and monotone scripted patter will not lure me back. The fact I had to stop him three parts the way through the general check-up as he was hurting me (something I would never have done before) means that I will not see that particular dentist again! on the way out my lack of 'Thanks' was heartfelt! Not good enough. I'm not happy. To the practice manager, you either need a second receptionist or a self check-in as queuing on the way in and the way out seemingly is the norm.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I arrived a few minutes before our allotted time. We were called to see the dentist on time. Dr Rai was as usual professional, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful (and humourous). We always feel we are treated with respect by Dr Rai and all the staff we encounter. While going to the dentist is not our favoured part of a day, we are happy to attend due to the welcome and good attitude of all concerned.

Fantastic experience: Been coming to this dentists for years. The best dentist Ive seen is definitely the one I see there now. Hygienist I see is really good too. Everything is explained to me so I know what to expect. Everyone is really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend. I have just come back from an appointment at the dentist so I’m adding this to my previous review. Saw a different dentist who I’ve not seen before and he was excellent. Did an examination and took an X-ray. Explained to me what the issues were and advised me how to best manage the problems I have. Showed me what I needed to do to improve things and advised on a device I can buy if I want to improve things further. Once again I am really happy with my treatment here. The nurses and reception staff are really nice too.I continue to recommend this dental practice.

Fantastic experience: everything went to plan , appointment at 9am ,l was called up at 9am ,checked over by Dr Rai given the all clear, see you in 1years time unless l have problems out by 9.20 you could not ask for anything better than that could you.

Fantastic experience: Dr Rae was his usual cheerful and friendly self. Made the plate in my mouth more comfortable and did a quick dental examination of what needs to be done. He suggested a positive plan for the dental care of my 85+ year old teeth which I agreed to and I arranged my appointment with a dental therapist in May. All highly satisfactory.

Fantastic experience: Great service at Dale Road Dental Practice today. Barely sat down before I was called in for my appointment. The staff are friendly and help you feel at ease. Dr Rae is always cheerful and has plenty to chat about, a thoroughly pleasant experience considering it's not one I ever look forward to, especially on a Monday morning!

Negative experience: Having been with this practice for many years, the Dentist we saw decided to go private. Other Dentists at the practice remained in the NHS but we were not allowed to transfer to these Dentists as they were “full”. Imagine my surprise when I found out that those who were on the NHS list with other Dentists in the practice who had not booked appointments for over 2 years were able to get appointments. It seems that those of us who religiously had appointments every 6 months and cared about our dental health are being discarded in preference to those who dont care about theirs. What is more annoying is that the online appointment booking system shows numerous free appointments in the next few weeks for the NHS dentists that are supposedly full. I went into the surgery to discuss this and was basically told ‘tough’. As far as I am concerned this is unethical practice so force people to pay extortionate private dental care. I might end up having to pay for private treatment but will never go this Practice as they operate in an unethical and underhand way.

Fantastic experience: My experience with the NHS dental services provided at Dale Road Dental Practice by Dr Ferreira has always been excellent. The practice has recently gone private, but I had no hesitation in electing to join as a private patient.

Negative experience: After being seen by my dentist I was past on to someone else for a teeth clean and a few fillings. My mouth has been left in a mess. The treatment was terrible, both sides of my mouth were numbed for over 4 hours I really struggled to swallow and my gums are really sore now. My mouth is in pain. One of the fillings has fallen out already. Once I was able to swallow there was a lot of fillings and teeth bits in my mouth. I won’t be going back in a hurry. It didn’t hurt at the time but I’ve been left in a mess. I wish I hadn’t gone. The young man that did the procedure was very polite and explained what he was doing but I will be requesting for another member of staff next time.

Fantastic experience: Excellent practice always professional and great service my Dentist is Dr Thomas Linley and he is brilliant and always does a great job and advice and keeping healthy teeth and gums and if you are nervous about Dentists he is the man to see.

Fantastic experience: Advice given by Dr Rai, was, as always, comprehensive and easily understood. All possible options given. Dr Rai is always ready to explain treatments and likely outcome in terms a layman can understand. Could not wish for better service.

Fantastic experience: I needed an appointment quickly and was given one for two days later. Whilst it took a long time for the phone to be answered the reception staff were polite and efficient in finding an appointment for me. My treatment is not done yet so I can’t comment on that. Treatment was done in October 2024 and have just had a check up. Dr Chan has done an excellent job, can’t recommend the practice highly enough.

Positive experience: My dentist recently changed over to private. I am not happy about this at all. The charges are beyond acceptable. Even with the dentist plan, which gives me x2 dental checkups a year and cleaning, I still have to pay for treatments. They are not included in a plan I pay £23 per month. So for a replacement filling, I'm being charged £150 and I had to pay a £50 deposit before my treatment. I still have to wait 6 weeks for treatment. I'm not impressed and⁹ the deposit is an absolute cheek.

Fantastic experience: Had an hygienist appointment with Kate today. Gave me some great advice and recommendations. Very professional and let me know what she was doing to me which was nice to know and the reason why. Brilliant thank you.

Fantastic experience: The treatment I received from the dental Hygienist was excellent. She was as gentle as she could be. Listened to me when I asked questions. My only complaint was that the email I received reminding me of my appointment did not say it was at he sister practice in Holt road Matlock. As an old lady I did not appreciate having to retrace my steps to the other practice out of breath and flustered

As I mentioned, it was my first visit to a dentist since 1974, owing to a phobia I have had, so was very nervous, prior to my visit. Fantastic experience: When you find a good dentist you stick with them for as long as possible, in my case I have been coming here for the last 20+ years and seen the same dentisit, Dr Rai. Professionalism, care and thought come to mind whenever I have had anything from a basic check up to an extraction or filing. No one likes dental visits but they are a necessity and with Dr Rai in particular never have I questioned the service or had a bad experience. I always felt comfortable and relaxed, which is what you need whilst someone holds dental tools in your mouth!!
