Sands House Dental Practice - Downley Dentist

Negative experience: Awful experience. Writing this on behalf of my partner who had a tooth extraction recently. His tooth was removed with an active infection, with no antibiotics given. The infection had spread to his jaw and made him incredibly ill. The procedure was rushed & the aftercare advice was terrible. Just a conveyor belt of patients being rushed through a system with no care for their oral health or wellbeing. Luckily we know the signs of sepsis but to remove a tooth with an active infection is completely incompetent.

Fantastic experience: Sands Denist review. Went for my usual check up today. Went in on time and my dentist Vaishali Satarekar is the consummate professional. Always feel that I am getting great treatment and she takes the time to explain any questions. Never like going to the dentist when I was younger but she makes it “almost” pleasurable ‍♂️ Would happily recommend her at this practice.

Fantastic experience: Unbelievable service. Barely sat down before I was called in. All treatment was explained thoroughly and was totally pain free. I was very anxious and apprehensive but Manas Mishra put me at total ease. I could not recommend him more.

Fantastic experience: I had been experiencing issues with a broken and infected tooth that just kept getting worse. I was referred to Sands House to remove the broken tooth due to complex health history. I was incredibly nervous but Dr Manas Mishra immediately put me at ease. He explained everything really clearly and talked me through the risks. He made me laugh and was really lovely the whole time. I didn’t feel a single thing after the slight scratch from the injection! I would recommend Dr Manas Mishra 100%!

Fantastic experience: I was unavoidably too late for my appointment, but another dentist kindly offered to fit me in. This was a great relief as I had tooth ache. As a result I was given a prescription which I was able to get straight afterwards. The staff and practitioners at the Dentistry were understanding and most helpful, for which I am most grateful.

I’m with another dental practice who referred me to Sands for a wisdom tooth extraction and did feel nervous at first as this is the first time I’ve had a wisdom tooth taken out. The team are so lovely and it didn’t take long at all for them to do the extraction (initially thought it would take longer due to how the tooth was positioned). Highly recommend

Angela is a calm, caring, reassuring, knowledgeable lady who is just the best. Mr Mishra is just amazing - apart from his knowledge of dentistry & tooth removal being second to none, he has a fabulous manner & great humour. Negative experience: My "tooth extraction" with Dr Mishra seemed personal - he seemed "Quack" and "Unqualified" as "he lied to me that I wouldn't experience any pain, but it was the most painful experience of my life - I'm in my mid 40s"! It was also the "worst decision I've ever made in my life - I'm in my mid 40s"! My "entire teeth now seem to be coming/falling out despite only having just one removed/extracted"!

Negative experience: I had an emergency appointment 4 weeks ago the dentist did not even look in my mouth. I was given a form to get an X-ray from the hospital and a prescription for antibiotics. I made the appointment for an X-ray it was in Stoke Mandeville Hospital. After having my x-ray I contacted sands dentist to get my results. Firstly they could not get the results because there system was out dated. I asked to speak to a manager on several occasions and this has not happened. Then whilst trying to get to speak to a manager or someone that can help the receptionist just put me on hold and left me on hold I called back and she did the same thing, three times. Until I just gave up. I have been told that the dentist that saw me has gone on holiday for five weeks and It's now 20 day since I was seen and not even my results from the x-ray has been given. No one has called and spoken to me and I just get told by the reception that they have passed the information to the manager and that is all they can do. Still waiting for a manager to call either the one from Banbury or the one from high Wycombe who was away and no one in the practice knew when she would return, but apparently has returned on Tuesday gone.

Negative experience: Went recently with a broken tooth, I waited for nearly 45 minutes to be seen, as soon as the light came down I knew I should have got up and walked out , absolutely filthy ! I had a filling done while the dentist spoke about what she was getting for lunch with her assistant, within a hour of having the filling I had awful pain , trying to ring up for a appointment for nearly a week , they never seem to answer their phones, I went to the wycombe dental hub , who were absolutely fantastic, the damage done from the filling I've had to have the tooth removed... appalling service , I won't be back and advise anyone to find a different dentist...

Fantastic experience: I had an extraction. I was dreading it. I went in and was out in 20 minutes, just sitting in reception biting down on some gauze wadding. I left 10 minutes later. The Dentist was a surgeon from Wexham Park Hospital, extremely professional. The event was no more trouble than a regular dental check-up, and all procedures, and my subsequent actions were clearly explained to me.

Fantastic experience: I got referred to Sands by my regular dentist as i required sedation to have 4 teeth extracted. I cannot fault my experience at all. Firstly, I was proactively called to see if I wanted a cancellation spot- I did! The nurse who sedated me was extremely patient & understanding- explaining everything to me. The dental surgeon did a fantastic job putting me at ease. The whole procedure in the chair took no longer than 15 minutes. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back here if needed. Negative experience: Dentist that is gaming the admittedly broken NHS system. 7 months waiting list to have a tooth extracted on the NHS. But hey if I pay £450 I can have it taken out much sooner if there is a cancellation. Looks like they are bumping NHS patients in favour of the ££££ Sands House Dental Practice, if you don't want to treat NHS say so and go fully private. I was referred for tooth extraction by Cookham Dental practice and told I needed to pay for it up front. So not only are they telling their patients to wait 7 months they are sitting on our money too. I may have to go private if the pain becomes too much but I certainly won't be giving my hard earned money to these shysters.

Negative experience: I’ve been so disappointed over the years. I’m sure Covid times didn’t help (I made an official complaint at the time as communication was so poor when I was in a lot of pain and requiring a riot canal). Recently both myself and my husband have had appointments cancelled at the last minute (sometimes not until we are actually on site) and I can rarely get through on the phone.
