Negative experience: I went to this practice as a new patient in the autumn of last year. The examination was very thorough fillings done but needed extraction s which has to be done under hospital conditions in view of health problems. The request was sent off but returned for further medical details which I went in and completed early December. Chased the practice a couple of times, waiting list at the hospital etc, it wasn’t until I saw the hygienist in may who agreed it was a long time and insisted they chase it up. The receptionist then phoned me to say that Devon referral s hadn’t referred me on. I’ve now got a letter from the booking office to say an appointment will be made with the consultant so I phoned them up. After some time I spoke to the booking office who went through their records and Devon referral and they say the first contact they received was an email in May !! Whilst sympathetic they said I’d been referred for a routine appointment but on hearing the saga they said the dentist could mark it more urgent, which they refuse! They will not be honest about what happened when I gave further details in December, now in the process of making an official complaint to get to the bottom of it. Don’t touch this company with a barge pole they are expensive. Like all private dentist s but you do expect them to do what they are supposed to do, I suppose they were not going to make any money out of my extractions. All I can say is go to a dentist that cares for there patient- this practice is ABYSMAL!! I’ve now been told by the nhs booking office that if the pain gets to bad to go to A&E!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Claire Jordan performed a root canal re-treatment on my molar tooth and did an outstanding job saving it. She is not only an excellent dentist but also a genuinely kind and empathetic person. I truly appreciated her care and support throughout the entire treatment. However, I would have appreciated a bit more flexibility from the reception staff when it came to handling emergency situations and pain.

Fantastic experience: I am a new patient arriving with a complex dental situation. I saw Dr Taha. He quickly analysed the situation, proposed a course of action and did the work with in my view skill and a real interest in my well being. I was very impressed with everything and will join as a regular patient.

Fantastic experience: First time here and made to feel very welcome and safe. Treatment in early stages but each has been carefully described and I was given an estimate of costs. My own dentist recommended me to come here because for root work they are great. Root canal treatment now successfully completed and a tooth, thought to be end of life, was saved for, hopefully, many years to come.

Fantastic experience: I recently visited Life, Dental and Wellbeing Centre after being told by my previous dentist that I needed a root canal—something they couldn’t even guarantee would be successful due to a lack of the right tools. Needless to say, I left that appointment feeling anxious and unsure. From the moment I arrived at Life Dental, the difference was immediately clear. The reception team was warm, professional, and welcoming. Dr. Claire Jordan was absolutely fantastic. After a thorough examination and several tests, she reassured me that a root canal wasn't necessary. She explained that the issue was actually due to a poorly shaped filling from my previous dentist, which was irritating the opposing tooth. She smoothed the filling, and the discomfort I’d been dealing has ceased. Not only did this save me from an unnecessary and costly procedure, but it also restored my confidence in dental professionals. Dr. Jordan and the entire team displayed the kind of expertise, honesty, and care that is rare to find. I can’t thank them enough. If you’re looking for a dental practice that genuinely puts your wellbeing first, I cannot recommend Life, Dental and Wellbeing Centre highly enough. I will certainly be changing my dental practice from now on.

Fantastic experience: Extremely friendly staff on reception and very helpful on the telephone too. I was seen on time and the dentist was very professional, polite and friendly, explaining everything as we went along. This was my first visit and I couldn't have been more pleased.

Negative experience: I’m sorry to leave this review , I came a year ago and my dental hygiene appointment felt very rushed, not friendly and my gums were hurting for a few hours afterwards and my teeth enamel felt really sensitive which made me feel really anxious about my teeth being ruined. Staining on my bottom teeth wasn’t removed properly. When I asked the hygienist if everything looks alright with my teeth on surface level she said that she can’t tell me anything because this is a hygienist appointment and not a check up… just seemed pretty rude… I’m writing this review now because I went to a different surgery for the same treatment and it was so different that I know I’m not being unreasonable.

Fantastic experience: We waited over 10 years to get a local NHS Dentist and all I can say is it was well worth the wait. We received an excellent service from the initial booking through to the appointment...I can't praise Nancy enough for her patience with my X-ray issues! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Fantastic experience: I hadn't been to the dentist for almost two years because of knee replacement operation that l had so was a little nervous about going but l couldn't have been in more safer hands they were so helpful to my circumstances of walking, and treatment l received was excellent was extremely thorough and professional the staff were so very helpful and friendly

Fantastic experience: wow, it was awesome, my tooth broke over the weekend, I called Monday morning, got in same day and the dental fix was painless and quick, it feels like its always been there instead of the usual get used to feeling! thank you so much, I appreciate the speedy and good service

Negative experience: Went to this dentist this afternoon, to inquire about getting some gold crowns for my back bottom teeth. The dentist (Taha Alibhai) took lots of xray and photos then went on to quote me almost £5000 worth of treatments that didn't even include getting any crowns. Constantly pushed back against my idea of getting crowns, and kept suggesting fillings even though I expressed many times that is not what I want due to certin health conditions I have. I understand it was in consideration of my overall mouth health, but surely being a private customer and being willing to spend upto £1200 per crown, they should really do what the customer wants instead of beating around the bush and trying to get me to spend upto £5000 on treatments I dont even want. On top of that, the dentist hurt me twice, pushing plastic into my gums very hard. Complete waste of time and the £125 deposit for the appointment.

Fantastic experience: Had toothache. Was able to get an appointment quickly and easily. Forms were easy to complete. Dentist was thorough took time to find the right tooth. Then extracted the tooth. Good aftercare advice. My wife and I are considering changing dentist he was that good!

Negative experience: Very disappointed with the receptionist. After arranging and paying for an emergency appointment for my husband so he could get some antibiotics for a very bad infection. They made him sign a payment plan for work he hasn't had done yet and hasn't even booked it in to be done. Took payment for this future work all without explaining it to him properly as he thought he was paying for the appointment he had just had. When I called up to question what he paid for they gave me all the details and when I asked them to email me a copy of the payment plan suddenly they needed his permission to reveal this information, whatever he gave it to them and when I started to give the testy reception my email address the line was disconnected and they answering service was turned on 5 minutes before they closed. Very bad practices from the reception staff!

I have had a complete dental overhaul and know that my money has been well spent on first class treatment and service. Up to the minute technology makes treatment so much more comfortable. Fantastic experience: I was treated for a carious cavity in an upper premolar. I was experiencing radiating, and spontaneous pain, as well as sensitivity to both hot and cold liquids and foods. I was seen by Dr Claire Jordan. She treated me with care and professional expertise. The treatment was to the gold standard of endodontic therapy. Subsequent to the appointment the pain has gone. If and when I require further endondontic treatment I will see Dr Jordan with absolute confidence in her abilities and caring patient manner.

Fantastic experience: Firstly, I have a long standing fear of dentists and will only go if have to!….. From my initial conversation with reception which was friendly and empathetic….Through to meeting my dentist Claire for an initial consultation, I’ve been very impressed…. The surgery I need to have could be quite distressing however Claire has talked me through, clearly and re-assuringly as to what the procedure will involve, she’s also been extremely thorough with regards to after care. I feel ‘safe’ in her hands! 10/10 across the board.

The medical and administrative staff were super-friendly and highly efficient throughout. Moreover, I was given impartial advice to keep my costs down - a rarity in the modern era. Fantastic experience: After receiving awful experience at a previous dental practice, I had lost confidence in going to any dentist. After visiting the Life Dental & Wellbeing practice as a new patient yesterday, my experience including a minor treatment has most definitely restored my faith back again. My new dentist was super professional, informative and reassuring aswell as personable. The staff that I also met yesterday were all absolutely lovely, extremely helpful and created a very calm and pleasant atmosphere. I left my appointment as a very happy patient. Fantastic experience: My initial consultation was a very nice experience. Everyone was friendly, I didn't feel rushed, the consultation was thorough, the dentist explained his thoughts and suggested plan in a way that made sense and I felt I could trust him to do what was necessary and not what was not. Lack of trust was the main reason for finding a new dentist and I am very happy with my choice. Update 2024 - as lovely as they are they are extremely expensive so I have now moved to another (private) very good but much more reasonably priced dental.

Fantastic experience: Office is very conveniently placed opposite Exeter Central train station the staff I have met were all extremely friendly and helpful, The Dentist put me at my ease right away, have signed up for treatment.

Fantastic experience: All the staff at this dental surgery are so friendly and lovely. I saw a temporary dentist this time and I really hope she stays on as she just took all the anxiety away and made me feel really relaxed. The receptionists and dental nurses are are also outstanding. If you have any fear of going to the dentists, I would really recommend this practice. And they have a 'living wall' of plants in the waiting room which adds to the peacefulness and welcoming energy.

Fantastic experience: I needed an emergeny wisdom tooth removal. Came in as a previously an NHS patient of a different practice, expecting a long tennious ordeal. However, on the same consult appointment had my wisdom tooth removed with ease, within 10 minutes total. Very very relieved and the staff all worked to ease my concern the entire way through. Recovering now, with no pain whatsoever. A feat that appears to not be consistent with patients from different practices. I think this is an outstanding clinic.

Fantastic experience: I got a cancellation for a clean and polish. Fast, efficient, as pain free as they could make it. Pretty expensive, but if you want it done now, expect to pay... I would recommend, they did a fantastic job.

Fantastic experience: I joined this practice a year ago after my dental practice closed down, I have to say what a wonderful welcoming team they are. I had my teeth aligned with invisible aligners. Everything was explained fully, my journey whizzed by and I am now able to smile without feeling embarassed by my wonky teeth! The price was very competitive and the care and attention was amazing! For anyone looking for a new practice - this is the one!

Fantastic experience: Good service and friendly staff both Dr Taha and Ebony looked after me. There was a little miscommunication as I was travelling from Australia but all sorted.

Positive experience: Nice people central location but it’s so expensive! Even after you become a regular patient they still need a deposit before treatment. My one other issue is that my Dentist left and the practice neglected to inform me and I only found out when ringing up to book an appointment

Fantastic experience: At Life Dental & Wellbeing I have experienced the best dental surgeon and hygienist since I was a child. The staff at the counter are very helpful. The dental surgeon and hygienist give good dental advice, and use screen equipment to show and explain improvements and/or what is necessary. An email is sent out to remind you of the forthcoming next dental appointment. One has to complete a questionnaire about any health issues, so that dental surgeon and hygienist know in advance of health changes.

Fantastic experience: I've had a lot of dental work done at Life and now have a smile I can be proud of. Abby, my hygienist, is the loveliest person ever and always so cheerful making visits a pleasure rather than something to worry about. Ben, my dentist, is very thorough but equally doesn't try to push you to have work done unnecessarily. I have full trust in the team to recommend what's best for my teeth.

Fantastic experience: Abi has been my hygienist for some years now. I've progressed from being nervous and absolutely hating visits to the hygienist to not minding them at all - and it's all due to Abi's empathetic approach. I really feel we've worked together on this (and I've told her she can never leave!) It is great to be treated like a 'whole person' and not just a set of teeth.

Fantastic experience: I have always really disliked the dentist, and have avoided going for many of my adult years. However, after having tooth pain I made an emergency appointment, very easy to do online! From there I decided to sign up. This is by far the best dentist I have ever been to, all of the staff are lovely, kind and considerate. I felt so at ease. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I was welcomed by Sarah on reception who was absolutely lovely and made me feel super comfortable as a new patient. They have 2 waiting rooms in case you need extra privacy and it was beautifully decorated. Felt professional but not too clinical and major pro: it didn't have that weird hospital smell that some dentistry offices have. I was seen by Dr Claire for a tooth that had chipped and she was exceptional. Very friendly and I cannot flaw the service at all. Truly one of the best dental experiences I have ever had, despite my reservations as a new patient and a student in Exeter. Life Dental and Wellbeing is the top spot for dental work in Exeter and I would recommend them to anyone looking for friendly, professional and fairly priced work. Fantastic experience: Elsewhere Dr G is described as "is an approachable and caring dentist. She is committed to building trusting relationships with her patients. She supports them to understand, enhance and maintain their own oral health. Gabriella endeavours to provide gentle general dentistry, listening closely to her patients and tailoring unique care to each individual. " She follows a number of dentists and other staff at this practice in being just that (and for us NHS patients) with or without complex issues. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I have used Life for many years now, and I am very happy with them. I have Camilla as my dentist and she is excellent. I feel supported and always put at ease. Also the reception staff are so nice and always very welcoming. You do have to wait a while for appointments but that's not a unique issue here. Edit (2024) I am still with Life and my original review remains the same. I consistently have positive experiences. I like how they do not judge and they give great advice for maintaining healthy teeth. My dentist (Camilla) always remembers me and asks mw about things we discussed last time which shows they really do care.

Positive experience: Friendly and flexible approach. I arrived on what was apparently the wrong date, but since the dentist's scheduled patient had not turned up, I was able, and grateful. to fill the empty slot. The usual trouble free but reassuring examination left me content to depart trouble-free for another year.

Fantastic experience: Very efficient and friendly receptionists that always make you feel welcome. I had a root canal filling and was very anxious about the duration of the procedure. Claire the dentist was very confident about the procedure making me feel instantly at ease. Very professional service, I would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: Really delighted with finding this practice after a very stressful month trying to find a specialist RCT dentist. The reception staff were so friendly and helpful and made me feel immediately welcome. Clare took time to listen to all the issues I’d been having and gather a complete picture. After some diagnostics I was given a very honest likely outcome and whilst this might not be what I would have wanted I have total respect and thanks for the honest expert opinion given to me. This will save me money and more pain and distress in the long term. Thank you Clare and team you’ve restored my faith in being treated as a person and not a pay day.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming here for many years now. I see Ben once or twice a year and then I normally see Abbie regularly for my hygenist appointments. It is the best dentist I have ever been to! I now don't dread my appointment, infact I actually look forward to it! The whole team are so friendly. Abbie does such a fantastic clean and is so gentle. I've also seen Shelby and Arefa for hygienist appointments, if Abbie has been unavailable. I had initially been nervous to see someone different, but again, both have been very gentle, they are all are excellent hygenists! In the past I have seen other hygenists at other practices, where it was really quite an uncomfortable and brutal treatment. So I am so pleased I have found this place. I couldn't recommend this place enough! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Abbi is the best Dental Hygienist that I have ever been to. She is great at her job, is encouraging, helpful and puts you totally at your ease. Because of her I actually enjoy going to the dentist.

From the initial phone conversation to the actual procedure - root canal treatment of which I have a phobia of needles ( thank you nurse for holding my hand) - to the completion of my appointment I was treated with the utmost care and attention and most importantly listened to! Indeed the whole package- the oasis you enter in the front lobby with live wall to the bright pleasant room with luxurious dental chair and fashionable dental scrubs dentist Claire and her team should be credited for this lovely experience. If your afraid of dentists/ needles/pain in general please make an apt now. A word of caution though- you will think you have booked a spa appointment.

Fantastic experience: Had my wisdom teeth out here by Dr Efstratios Mylonas and his assistant. The process was great and I didn't end up feeling any pain for the procedure and using the prescribed painkillers I didn't feel much pain after either. Things seem to be healing up nicely.

Fantastic experience: Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Wish I went here as a child and I would still have all my teeth. My teeth and gums have never been better. Putting the instruction to work and taking the time to do it right made all the difference between the well done visits.

Fantastic experience: Great dentist, will get you in as soon as they can. If it’s a bit of a wait you can go on the cancellation list. My dentist and dental assistant are great! They make the visit easy and lighthearted. Reception always friendly and welcoming. Waiting area clean and comfortable. All in all very happy with them being my dentist!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have been coming to LD&W for about 18 years. Their service has always been a pleasure to use and has been steadily getting better and better. The reception staff are absolutely lovely. Claire has been our dentist for as long as she has been there and we cannot praise her enough, for being highly professional with a calm and reassuring manner and a delightful person to boot. I had an implant installed by Ben a few years ago and he too exudes competence. His advice and treatment were spot on and I'm so glad I went with him rather than one of the impersonal production lines that specialise in implants.

Fantastic experience: I moved to this dental practice earlier in the year as I was not happy with my previous practice. Very happy with the service provided so far. The reception team are quick to respond, friendly and helpful. The dentist is gentle and caring and also during a check up, they run through other lifestyle factors too, which is helpful. I have just moved my son across too. Obviously more expensive than NHS, but worth it.

Fantastic experience: Easily got an emergency appointment, I wasn't a registered patient but I definitely will be from now on. I'm terrified of the dentist but I was put at ease immediately by reception staff and Dr Mylonas, who made sure I was comfortable and talked me through everything that needed to be done. Everyone was so patient and I recommend them 100%. Will now be my dentist for the future!
