Fantastic experience: I had my first hygienist appointment with Jess on Wednesday and I can't praise her enough. I was quickly put at ease by her warm caring manner and at every stage of the treatment she explained clearly what she was doing. Jess gave my lots of useful advice and I look forward to my next appointment in 6 months time. Thank you Jess, Mary, Laura and all the wonderful staff at Blossom Family Dental Care.

Fantastic experience: I felt that the service given by Jess today was so good that I would leave a review. I'm not surprised to see that many others have felt the same. Jess, you are clearly doing a fantastic job! Is there a hygienist of the year award? She was professional, appropriately friendly, knowledgeable and paid a huge amount of attention to detail. I can't think of anything that could be improved.

Fantastic experience: Went in for an emergency appointment yesterday and was blown away by how far all the staff go to make sure you get the best treatment possible. They’ve even do a treatment plan for me rather then just seeing me the once and have found problems I wasn’t even aware of. Definitely worth the 3 hour journey I had to get here. May even sign up as a full patient even if I need to do it privately

Fantastic experience: After suffering with a part broken tooth and lost filling I was referred here from 111. As my previous dentist went private, I have not seen a dentist in about 12 years so I was somewhat petrified. They were absolutely fantastic (sorry struggle to recall their names) they put me at ease, fixed my tooth and restored my confidence. The receptionist was also lovely and polite.Thank you I have had 2 more visits since my last review to correct the damage to my teeth and I cannot compliment Emma enough, I struggle with a gag reflex and get extremely anxious when attending. on every occasion Emma has made me feel so at ease and comfortable, she is constantly praising me for doing so well during treatment. On top of that she is fantastic at her job and extremely skilful too and my teeth are now fixed and feel great. She always goes above and beyond - I cannot fault her! It has made me so comfortable that now my treatment has ended I have decided to stay on with them as a regular patient as the nurses and receptionists are always so pleasant too-I’m just sad that I can’t stay on with Emma as I understand she only deals with urgent care.

Fantastic experience: I went yesterday for the first time to an emergency appointment as my tooth was really painful. I have had previous problems with this tooth and due to a really bad phobia of the dentist I have put it off. Dr Sond explained all my options and went through everything with me. He could see I was anxious and instantly tried to put me at ease. I decided to go through with the extraction and. I don’t think I have ever been asked so much if I was ok before as uncomfortable as the treatment was I was put at total ease honestly this was such a big thing for me ! Both dr sons & Jay the dental nurse were amazing and completely put me at ease. I left & signed up as a patent as that’s how comfortable I feel about going back. Honestly thank you so much !!

Fantastic experience: My family have been patients at this dental practice since 1996 and it is testimony to the length of time we have used it to show how lovely and friendly the staff are. Our dental surgeon even welcomes us on first name terms and explains everything in a calm and professional manner what treatment needs to be done. Their ability to reassure nervous patients and make them feel relaxed is first class. Top practice and top staff.

Fantastic experience: Since having to go private because the practice canceled my NHS participation along with many others! I am very happy with the service provided albeit substantial cost increase! but in line with general private dentist practices in York. For the last year my new dentist Laura Mazecaite has been fantastic she reconstructed a tooth that I thought would have to be crowned, Laura is caring, practical and very professional I hope to see her for many years. I have been reappointed a new hygienist Jessica Gardham although I have only seen her once I was pleased with my last appointment. Blossom dental care online booking system is very good and simple to use and backed by very good admin staff should an email or phone call be required. I have recently recommended Blossom Dental Care to A couple I know and they have both joined, I wouldn’t have done this if I wasn’t personal happy with the treatment I recently experienced. Fantastic experience: As an anxious patient, having had bad experiences in the past, I am very lucky to have Nathaniel as my dentist.He makes you feel very relaxed, is patient, and explains everything. I recently had a crown fitted, and was so pleased with the result. Also i’d like to thank my hygienist Jessica, who also makes me feel relaxed, and is very friendly, as are the receptionists, especially June, who is so helpful when you have to re arrange an appointment etc. What a Lovely Team! Positive experience: Covid brought its issues re being seen but I now have an amazing lady dentist who solved a 5 year issue with my teeth in 2 appointments. Fantastic experience: I recently needed urgent dental work and after reading reviews of here and of others I decided on Blossoms and that I would try here. I'm not the most confident when it comes to dentists (who is?) and I had some anxiety about it as well as being in a lot of pain beforehand but I really didn't need to have. I was seen by the very lovely Laura who was aided by the also lovely Charlotte the both times I was there and I can genuinely say Laura took away any anxiety I had, she was incredibly kind, reassuring and patient and on both of my appointments I left Blossoms feeling positive about the visit. I also have to add she is a total wizard with injections and how easy it was having them and not a wince of pain, amazing! A huge thank you to them both for my care and to reception for the welcome each time. Would I recommend them? Absolutely, I had a very positive experience with Laura. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I just want to say that Blossom Family Dentist is amazing . Dr Sond is incredible and patient with both my girls. My eldest talks alot and asks questions all the time . Stopping many times during her appointment. Never once did we feel rushed and inconvenient.If I had a dentist like him when I was growing up ,I know I wouldnt have a fear of going . I've even spoken to Dr Sond about signing up and getting my teeth sorted . He has put my fears to rest . Thank you so much . Highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: I have just had a filling done by Japi and his assistant. After not having the best experience elsewhere i wasn't looking forward to it. No one likes having dental work done but would 100% recommend. Made me feel very at easy and didn't feel a thing! Will be returning for my annual check ups

Negative experience: Have been with them over 10 years, asl long as they did NHS patients. Last year they went private. I filled in a form to get a panoramic xray. Guess what? You need a referral from a dentist. So, should you do it, pay £60 for a 5 min appointment and after you pay for xray, if you are not on their monthly plan. After all why should they not milk you like all other companies? Duty of care? Nah, don't know what that is. So, Turkey, here I come, but we'll have to sort ot there. PS. The fact that your patients on a plan have 2 xrays a year ( if clinically required) means that you can have them Unfortunately, while I am aware of the risks involved, the UK dentist industry is pricing out 99% of us. Worst case scenario, I'll make Turkey a regular holiday.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to see a dentist at Blossom Family Dental Care after contacting NHS 111 after our dentist refused to see me unless I had a spare £500 knocking about. I was in pain but extremely nervous. I have had a very bad experience of dentists over the years and as I’m autistic I have found the environment and experience of visiting dentists to be overwhelming and very much distressing over the years. I was apprehensive and having to travel 30 miles to see them gave me more time to stress out so fair to say I was not feeling great when I arrived. I struggle to talk when I’m nervous or in pain so safe to say I was fairly non verbal wh em I arrived. I used the iPad to log in which helped calm my nerves as I didn’t have to talk to anyone initially. When I finished I wasn’t sure what to do and a nice lady on reception said if I’d done on the pad I could just have a seat and wait for someone to call me up. The waiting room is warm and cosy which again helped me relax. Emma came and got me and introduced me to Shirin who was lovely. She was dead patient and explained what was happening and answered any questions that I had. Emma and Shirin both reassured me and treated me really kindly. Although it still wasn’t nice because I have tooth ache we found out why. Shirin explained why I had the issue and what we need to do in the immediate term to help. I had lots of questions which they patiently and comprehensively answered. I am booked in for follow up treatments and I would like to look at getting further preventative treatment done in the future… despite me being scared I felt looked after and listened to which is something a lot of professionals do not do when dealing with neurodivergent people. I contacted the practice again today as I had a few questions and spoke to Chelsea; she was also dead polite and friendly. She listened to me and tried to help me despite me waffling a bit as I was nervous. So far my experience has been really positive and I wish everyone who worked in health care treated individuals with autism in the same way as they do here.

Fantastic experience: I was so relieved to be able to book an emergency next-day appointment online after having telephoned six other dental practices closer to home, none of whom could give me an appointment (my usual dentist is down in Surrey). The care and attention of the staff at this practice is excellent and I cannot rate it more highly. The dentist, Amy, who treated my painful tooth was so professional, explaining the options and then giving me the appropriate treatment. She was very caring and made the whole experience much more comfortable, particularly as I am a somewhat nervous patient. I must also praise the reception team, three lovely ladies, who were so welcoming and helpful. The facilities were also excellent in all respects and I was seen promptly, for which I was very grateful.

Fantastic experience: A huge thank you to the team at Blossom today. Nathaniel and his assistant were so incredibly lovely, and instantly put me at ease. Nathaniel was knowledgeable and very kind - taking me through each of my concerns and making recommendations for how to combat each thing, without being overly salesy. The receptionists were really welcoming, setting the tone for a great experience. If you’re looking for an outstanding dental practice well worth the money, Blossom is the way to go!

Fantastic experience: I was quickly seen at this dental practice through an emergency appointment via 111. I found the Dentist who treated me to be proficient and attentive. The ladies on reception were warm and friendly and the building is full of character.

Fantastic experience: First appointment with Blossom as I have recently moved to York and this is the practice that my sister uses and recommended to me. It was easy to book online, and fill in the required forms before attending the appointment. I got an appointment reminder and links to the form in there as well. When I attended the appointment the service was good, I was able to register with the receptionists right away and I did not have to wait long before I was called from the comfortable waiting room I was directed to. The appointment itself was good, the building is lovely and the dentist and nurse were both very friendly. The dentist explained what he was going to do very clearly and I felt comfortable throughout the visit. The assessment of my dental health was thorough and the dentist was very good about discussing how often I would need to see him, and about how to book with the hygienist if desired. He mentioned the dental plan they have but did not try to sell it to me un-necessarily because his advice on the frequency of visits needed was that the plan might not make financial sense to me in particular unless I do want to attend more regularly (thankfully my teeth are decent and he was pleased with how I am looking after them). Booking the return appointment was easy and done fast. I also mentioned my sister recommended me as I saw on the counter there was a referral discount for her, and the receptionist advised they'd look into sorting that out for her. Overall, really pleased. Can't fault anything and will definitely be using Blossom as my dentist in future.

Positive experience: Good and professional service. Very nice hygienist who took great care to make it a pain free experience. Only slightly late appointment. Only downside is that the practice has only got treatment rooms upstairs and the hygienist is on the second floor with quite steep stairs, not great for people with disabilities.

Fantastic experience: Always been happy with going to this dentist although staffing has changed over the the years. Shame NHS treatment is no longer available but can't blame them when the government funding mechanism hasn't been fit for purpose. I feel the care I receive is appropriate and well delivered, and sound advice without pressure to do unnecessary work given.

Negative experience: /Sure ! Happy to provide more information! My emails were left unanswered for months and was never granted a free check up despite bring pregnant ,I had an exemption but was not able to get the treatment I needed which ultimately got me into the emergency room , the practise response to the NHS dental crises was to go completely private and prioritise their earnings ! I still believe I was entitled to a free root canal at your practice but not even a conversation about it was granted. I should of messaged the local MP at the time luckily I have got the “pity” of another practice that took me on as an nhs patient because I was heavily pregnant so my revew is not so good sorry!!

Fantastic experience: Blossom Dental has been life-changing. They were, have been, and continue to be entirely patient with me. I had been terrified to even have checkups, and until last december had avoided the dentist. I was in a state, and only went in in the hops for antibiotics. Several extractions, fillings and checkups later I'm actually not afraid to smile. I couldn't recommend them enough. While private dental isn't cheap in any sense, it's so worth it in the long run. So thank you to all of the staff there, everyone is wonderful.

Fantastic experience: Wow. I am so so pleased with the work that Dr Sond did yesterday on two of my back teeth. He clearly explained the process and kept me informed every step of the way. Jasmine was a wonderful dental nurse supporting Dr Sond with my procedure. My teeth look soooo good now. I just wish I had a before and after to show you!! Would certainly recommend Dr Sond at Blossom St dentists.

Negative experience: After a visit to a female dentist I found her to be rude, failed to listen to me clearly, failed to carry to her duties to a satisfactory standard and implied I was lying. I contacted the practice but my concerns were never responded to. I found the whole experience unpleasant and unacceptable. I will not be using this service again nor would I recommend them. I note the practice mangers comments, however you have failed to consider and respond to my poor experience of unprofessional and unacceptable behaviour of your staff for the second time. Perhaps you may want to directly respond rather than leaving a comment which attempts to deflect my concerns and provides a non apology apology, a fake apology. Regards

Negative experience: 29 years I have been a patient of Blossom Family Dental care. Today I had a family appointment with my 2 children. My son is 18 years old in 3 months time so the receptionist refused to make any further appointments unless £60 was paid upfront. Apparently they have a huge problem with family members not attending their appointments. Refused to make any future appointments unless paid 6 months in advance.

Negative experience: Awful receptionists, full of attitude and no customer service skills whatsoever. Have been treated disgustingly today, and they all push you like a sales environment instead of treating you like a human I will definitely be complaining to GDC

Fantastic experience: Had a significant filling done on a back tooth here, Laura did a brilliant job, I’ve never had a filling done with such care and after the injection wore off it felt great in fact next day it was as if it had never broken. I’m really pleased.

Fantastic experience: I have been with Blossom Dental care for 40 years now and have always had excellent care. I have chosen to stay with them and pay the monthly plan as they have now gone private, I’m sad this is the case but seems to be how it is now and wouldn’t be able to find an NHS dentist now. I am happy with Nathaniel who is my named dentist and hopefully with two check ups a year we can avoid any costly treatments.

Positive experience: My only issue is where my dental room is, up 3 flights of stairs as I suffer with MS, I worry about what will happen in the future. My Dentish is great and would be a shame to move dental practise’s due to no ground floor rooms

Fantastic experience: I have been with the dentist on Blossom Street since I was a child and have seen many changes over the year, most for the good, last month myself and my children went for our 6 monthly check up, first one since I started on the payment plan, Japkirat and Jessie his assistant, Jessie introduced herself as the last time we came it was a different assistant, both Japkirat and Jessie made me and my children feel so welcome and relaxed, explaining especially to the children what was happening.

Fantastic experience: I have no words to describe the care and treatment I got from Shirin. I went for treatment on a broken tooth, I left Blossom dental feeling so relived knowing a dentist cares so much. I work for the NHS so patient care for me is so important, and Blossom dental is up there with highest care for patients. You should be very proud of yourselves.

Fantastic experience: I have recently been attending blossom street dental with my son and couldnt be happier with the treatment that he has received so far. From the first appointment , after a long period of time without seeing a dentist and a lot of anxiety around attending a dental appointment, Emma and chelsea were brilliant. They were friendly and personable and made him feel comfortable throughout his appointment as well as explaining the treatment process to him so he knew exactly what to expect. Its also lovely to see how much Emma cares about her patients and the pride she takes in all of the work that she does, ensuring that everything is done to the highest possible standard. My son is now more than happy to go to his dental appointments and i believe that this is largely down to his experience at blossom street with emma and chelsea. What an amazing team!

Fantastic experience: I initially went to blossom family dental care through an emergency 111 appointment and after my treatment the dentist who treated me asked if I wanted to join the dentist privately I have since agreed and gone back for my checkups and X rays and now have an actual plan in place to correct my teeth the dentist I have been seeing is an absolute star I can't remember her name but she is so professional with her job I cannot thank her enough for working on my teeth! Fantastic experience: My check up was carried out by a careful, sensitive dentist, no unnecessary work suggested, happy to answer any questions I had without feeling I was being rushed on.

Fantastic experience: I was referred here from 111 I live in Bridlington and there are no dentists here. I had broken a front tooth in half and was extremely distressed about it. The wonderful dentist (I apologise that I can't remember her name) was so reassuring and kind with no judgement, talked me through exactly what she was doing. Even in my distressed state she calmed me down and did an absolutely amazing job on the tooth that I thought was beyond repair. I am so grateful to all the team for helping me in my hour of need. I also received a welfare call to check I'd got home safely because when it was time to pay I was crying again...just with relief at that point. Again thank you so much!

Negative experience: Lovely helpful receptionist, however the practice is only interested in money & profits, & when it comes to NHS patients the money is there to fund them just it takes upto 12 months for them to get the money & they won't wait a year, nothing to do with under funding,

Fantastic experience: After years of fear of dentistry , I have no fear or worries at all going to Blossom Dental Care. The dentist I am assigned to is simply brilliant, she’s calming and very gentle , but also does a superb professional job. Highly recommend this practice .

Negative experience: I was sent to this practise for an emergency appointment and I have never met such a rude and obnoxious dentist in all my life. I travelled 15 miles to get there and she refused to treat me.

Negative experience: Need work done just shy of £2000 but refuse to let me pay it off over couple of months. Its a large amount of money to fork out in one go. Especially now with the cost of living skyrocketing. Had a quote from another dentist for £600 less and they do finance!

Negative experience: Extortionate prices, absolutely outrageous, even for private dental prices, I got a quote for 2 small fillings from here, and showed friends, family, 3 other dentists in York and everyone was in complete shock and told me I was being fleeced. Unfortunately this isn’t the first time I’ve heard this about this dental clinic, but wanted to give them a chance! The dentist I saw was friendly but told me to simply put up with and leave my 2 impacted wisdom teeth alone, and to try and find somewhere else to get them done as they apparently ‘dont do wisdom teeth.’

Positive experience: Only been private since signing up in February it’s to soon to pass comment on this new set up but previously it was impossible to get in touch by phone so I hope this has improved the dentist themselves are very good.

Negative experience: Being going to blossom dental for over 5 years and found the service really bad they do not return your calls ,you can never get through on the phone leave a message and they just ignore it and don't give you the full treatment you need when you need it resulting in having to make further appointments so they can charge you more , constantly changing new dentist's and very rude unhelpful reception staff, and now they've stopped treating NHS patients because they got greedy. Shame on blossom dental . picture on there website showing 3staff at the reception desk ready to help funny as when you ring up there's nobody there to take your call lol. Very nice of you to reply to my review Lucy and ask me to get back to you via email but the whole point is that I've called the dental practice and left 3 voicemail messages for an appointment and no one has got the decency to reply back ,what's going on ?,maybe you should stop adding the practice phone number for queries as no point if you're not going to reply,and don't be blaming your phone system as I noticed in the past that's a lame excuse don't insult people's intelligence,I will be taking my business to a more professional surgery from now on .

Fantastic experience: I have used this practice for nearly 25 years, and have always found them to be good. They have recently refurbished the building, which is great. Sadly, they have just decided to give up treating NHS patients. I can just about afford to stay with them.
