Our comment from Best Dentists about Tavern Street Dental Practice:
The Tavern Street Dental Practice is known for its mixed reviews. However, many patients have shared their positive experiences that highlight the dedication of the staff and the quality of care provided. Here are some key points that stand out:
- Welcoming Atmosphere: New patients often note the warm and friendly reception they receive, particularly from staff like Tilly and Darci, who make the experience more comfortable.
- Professional Care: Many patients have praised dentists such as Dr. Raval and Joy for their thoroughness and ability to put nervous patients at ease. They are noted for their clear explanations and gentle approach during procedures.
- Emergency Appointments: Several clients have found the practice accommodating when urgent dental issues arise, often being seen the same day for their concerns.
- State-of-the-Art Facilities: The modern setup and equipment, including the ability to view x-rays on screens, contribute to a more informative and reassuring experience.
- Long-Term Patients: Family members have expressed satisfaction with the practice over the years, noting that despite occasional hiccups, they have always returned due to the quality of treatment.
While the practice does face some criticism regarding accessibility and communication, many feel that the personal care they have received makes it worth considering for both NHS and private patients. Overall, Tavern Street Dental Practice strives to offer excellent dental care within a supportive environment.
Tavern Street Dental Practice: Reviews
Negative experience: Worst dentist I’ve been to ! Shocking service !
Fantastic experience: I visited the practice for the first time as an emergency patient in mid September. I needed quite a lot of work and so had 3 appointments that week. I was given outstanding treatment.
Negative experience: ZERO STARS! Terrible is an understatement! I tried over phone to cancel appointment MULTIPLE times over a week as i moved house. Nobody answered the phone.after so many attempts I gave up and sent an email. I know how much a "do not attend" cost for nhs! But how msny times can u call when no one answers. Now I get a call after 3 years, asking for the payment for the dental hygienist appointment I dint turn up for or will be taken to court! I should have driven to the practice to tell if them i couldnt attend or call till they answer! Its in their policy! What is the pont of having a phone if u dont answer. They took me out without asking as i dint see anyone for a year! they only want your money. run away if u can! So unprofessional. Im a health care professional myslef, who works for nhs and this isnt the care i provide, i see people that turn up late for.so.many reasons or cancel if thier car breaksdown etc. Im.not bothering to complain from what others have written. Good luck tavern street! You are utilising the pathetic situation of dental care in this country to make money! Well done
Negative experience: Zero star actually My husband hasn't been to the dentist for 2 years. Got a call today to pay some fee he didn't know he owned from 2 years a ago.
Negative experience: Bizarre place. Unprofessional. Terrible at dealing with complaints. Frankly, they just seem to not care for patients at all, which is sad when you work in healthcare and provide a service, that without the people, wouldn't exist. Booked and paid in full, in advance, for hygienist. At the old site. They had moved across to the new site by the time I had the appointment. Prices went up. Tried to charge me another £10 for the appointment. Completely point blank refused to discuss it or justify it. Went for my normal NHS checkup, and was told they wouldn't treat me until I paid the 'outstanding' balance. Crooks, they know they have you over a barrel as so few NHS dentists available. Counterintuitive really, as now I will never book a paid treatment with hygienist or any cosmetic dentistry at this practice, only come for free appointments a d have private treatments elsewhere. Please also be aware that they try and charge for cancelling appointments if under 48 hours (like anyone knows 2 days in advance of they will be ill, but i understand needing as much notcie as possible), even states it in emails. Please be AWARE they are NOT ALLOWED to legally do this for NHS appointments (unless you are parkway through treatment that would need restarting/cost them) the NHS does not permit charges for missed appointments for check ups. Report them to Ombudsman if they attempt this, especially if then then refuse you care until it is paid. Access is terrible too, as a disabled person you're expected to climb 2 flights stairs, no lift, no option to use one of the many empty downstairs rooms. Discriminatory, really.
Negative experience: Zero stars — and that’s being generous. The glowing reviews must be from the staff, because I can’t imagine anyone else having a good experience here. I was referred by NHS 111 and got a call to book an appointment — brilliant, right? Not even a minute later, another call: Oops, that slot’s gone! But, lucky me, I could still have the exact same time if I paid privately. How convenient. Compassion? Nonexistent. Professionalism? Questionable. Even NHS 111 were shocked by the stunt they pulled. This place has been a running joke for years, and somehow they’re still managing to disappoint. Do better — or maybe just stop altogether.
Negative experience: Rude ,unhelpful not missed a appointment had to rearrange 1 but as a nhs patient said could take up to 6 months just phoned for a update and won't see me anymore as say I missed appointment, would not recommend at all
Fantastic experience: My two little girls saw grace this evening for their first appointment since we’ve moved to the area - her and her assistant were just incredible with them, and I couldn’t be happier. Really thorough and informative and spoke directly to the girls about their teeth and how to take care of them, instead of just talking at me - which I loved! Thank you!
Negative experience: I had an appointment scheduled for my 10 month old daughter’s first dentist visit. When I entered , the receptionist downstairs checked us in & said the appt was upstairs so my child would need to be carried up. I explained this wasn’t possible as her buggy needed to come up too- she advised me there was no lift. During this time i heard my daughter’s name being called upstairs. A kind member of staff helped me carry the buggy upstairs, bypassing another buggy coming down the stairs so the whole ordeal took a few minutes as we had to stop and let them pass. Once we were up I was told to wait until called. 5 minutes later the same member of staff informed me the dentist was refusing my daughters care as we were “late” & it meant I’d have to re register her for future care. Firstly, I struggle to understand how I was “late” when I clearly heard my daughter’s name be called whilst in the building. Secondly, I cannot comprehend why having no access to a lift & needing help to get my daughter up three flights of stairs is mine/her fault, and warrants her appt being cancelled. Lastly, I cannot understand why clients are not asked about their accessibility needs prior to their appt, to ensure appt is on appropriate floor level. After being left feeling embarrassed and let down, I sent an email complaint asking to speak to someone. I got an unprofessional & quite frankly rude response informing me they wouldn’t offer my daughter care anymore, insinuating my version of events were untrue & that they wouldn’t respond further on the matter.
Negative experience: Awful dentist... says they can take you on for NHS but then tries to bully you into paying private fees... I would take your money elsewhere honestly.
Negative experience: Our family has been with this practice for over 40 years, but our recent experience has been deeply disappointing. Despite submitting Power of Attorney documentation in November 2024 and requesting that all communications about our mother (who has dementia) come through us, the practice failed to act on this. They continued to contact her directly, leading to missed appointments that were not her fault. When we raised this formally, the response showed no acknowledgment of their error, no complaints procedure, and no compassion for her circumstances. Instead, they simply removed her NHS eligibility and insisted on private, prepaid treatment. This lack of accountability, humanity, and understanding for vulnerable patients is unacceptable. A dental practice should do better when entrusted with the care of long-standing patients, particularly those with complex needs.
Negative experience: Rude receptionist! I was given incorrect information, drove to practice to complete forms waited months to register, follow up email ignored. When I called to chase all of this evident of being given wrong information and the waste of my time. The receptionist randomly put me on hold then came back to the phone stating the line was fuzzy and was pressing numbers.
Fantastic experience: Myself and my husband visited tavern street dentist for the first time , on Tuesday 26th August we were greeted at reception staff who were friendly and polite Being a very nervous patient I saw Joy who is absolutely brilliant, I was put at ease and I immediately felt calm and relaxed. We would both highly recommend Joy , she certainly is a Joy and lily T thank you both so much . You have new patients for life.
Negative experience: Oh dear. I was quite happy to have a private appointment at Tavern St, but when they told me I needed 2 fillings I was amazed. I declined the reception's kind offer of an appointment for £400. I opted for a checkup at another dentist and they said I didn't need any fillings, 1 year later and my teeth are fine. Approach Tavern St Dentists with caution.
Fantastic experience: I’d just like to say how amazing Ash is & Claudia - Ash has done a few hours in my teeth and his been Brillaint very gentle and resolved a complicated Bridge and numerous fillings - Thank you so much I highly recommend anyone who needs there teeth sorting properly ..
Negative experience: Got referred via NHS 111 services, would not do anything, made excuses up. Very unprofessional, uncaring people.
Negative experience: Nhs emergency appointment after speaking to 111 got told nothing they could do for my implant that had fell out and need to book specialist appointment which I would have to pay for apparently I'm not in pain! No compassion left in tears refused to temporary glue it I will never recommend even going absolute waste of time
Fantastic experience: I was so very happy to have found a NHS dentist after 5 years of not having a dentist, but I’m more than happy with Tavern street practice, it’s a bit of a trek (hours drive) but oh so worth it, the dentist that I see is called Grace and she has such a charming bed side manner, instantly putting me at my ease, she explains everything that she’s going to do before she does it (so no horrid surprises) I have recommended a friend to her and he’s also very happy with her. They are taking on NHS patients still and I will continue to recommend Tavern Street Dental Practice.
Positive experience: Had a pretty positive experience. I am on the waiting list to join as an NHS patient but ended up needing an emergency appointment due to a broken and extremely painful wisdom tooth. this was as a private patient so it was pretty expensive! I was told I needed the tooth extracted and the dentist was honest with me that it was a 50:50 chance of being able to do so. He was upfront about the costs with me and the fact it may be unsuccessful but due to the severe pain I was in, I was willing to take the risk. It was not an easy procedure by any means and at one point I thought he was going to tell me he couldn’t do it but he continued to try and managed to extract the tooth. Both the dentist and dental nurse were very calming and reassuring and asked me if I was okay afterwards as it was pretty intense for me. I can’t fault the service from the very polite and helpful receptionist on the phone, to the dentist and dental nurse. -1 star for the sheer expense of a tooth extraction but hopefully I will soon hear from them that I have been accepted as an NHS patient. I don’t think the practice deserves the bad press it’s getting.
Negative experience: Disappointed by Unfair and Unprofessional Treatment I was removed from Tavern Street Dental Practice after needing to postpone one appointment. Later, on a separate occasion, I asked to reschedule another appointment, but they refused — saying I had already been “marked down” for missing the first. Despite having valid and genuine reasons on both occasions, I was given no opportunity to explain — just abruptly removed from the practice. What added to the disappointment was receiving a marketing email from them asking me to refer new patients to their new premises. After being treated so unfairly, this felt incredibly hypocritical and insensitive. I would not recommend this practice to anyone looking for respectful or compassionate NHS dental care.
Fantastic experience: First-time patient experience - welcoming, friendly and very efficient.
Negative experience: I went into the practice when I moved here and just found out I was pregnant, filled in the NHS forms in a makeshift tent in the back yard in the rain, suprisingly Inever heard anything for months, I rang the practice to see where my application was upto, was told there was a waiting list and ill be contacted, I sent numerous emails and left voice messages to no avail or response! My baby is now nearly 2 years old and STILL not heard anything and find it quite shambolic that I keep seeing that others are being taken on as NHS patients. I personally wouldn't want an appointment there if this is the level of customer service before entering the door.
Negative experience: Stay away from this practice! I tried to change an appointment 3 days in advance via email, they asked me to call which I did but they were closed so I emailed again to explain I can't speak to anyone until tomorrow when they open again please can they take my email as notice. I was then emailed at 9PM...(the practice closed at 5.30PM) to say I have disregarded their policy and they will no longer see me or respond to me. Their reputation in Stowmarket is awful, for a reason.
Fantastic experience: I registered at this practice a few months ago and have never met such a nice team of people. I have received excellent service in every aspect and always with a smile and a good word. Thank you so much.
Negative experience: Absolutely don't trust them. Had to cancel because of an emergency eye surgery and was told I could reschedule as it was an emergency and the first time I had to do it and I've just called to rebook and was told I couldn't. Absolutely disgusting
Fantastic experience: Tilly at reception was very efficient and helpful. Now registered to this dentist it’s very modern, clean and well organised.
Negative experience: Extraordinarily poor experience with this dental practice this morning. Trying to register my son (5) as a new patient. Receptionist told me that they couldn’t deal with me over the phone, and that I needed to email. I explained that we had already emailed, twice, and received no response. I went on to explain that my son had been involved in a traumatic accident which had damaged his teeth. Was still told I would need to email as they were ‘keeping the lines open’ so couldn’t deal with me further on the phone. Got the impression they couldn’t have cared less. Obviously given the situation I can’t wait for them to reply to a third email after receiving no response to the first two. If I could give them zero stars, I would.
Negative experience: Do not use this dental practice my son paid a lot of money for his first filling and hygienist sadly he has vomiting bug had a to cancel We accept they have and will take his money paid up front for treatment but was told by receptionist they would be unable to re book future appointments…. Actually used the term we are a business… maybe we should of just turned up with vomiting big and spread it around… disgusting treatment all about money Please do not use this dental practice total rip off
Fantastic experience: I live 45 mins from this dentist and I was very glad they accepted me. My dentist is joy and the nurse is fern. I would 100% recommend them. I am a very nervous patient and they put me at ease, very friendly and very patient with me. I dont feel nervous when I see them. The receptionist is also very friendly with me and accommodating also. Highly recommend this practice.
Fantastic experience: It was my first time to use this dental practice and I’m happy to say it was super positive. The booking process was efficient and the pre-experience fuss free. On arrival all the staff were welcoming and Tilly on the desk was super helpful at the end. The procedure itself was amazing - not something I thought I’d ever say as I’ve had some awful experiences in the past, but this extraction by Dr Raval was quick, painless and totally professional from start to finish - I can’t recommend this practice highly enough.
Fantastic experience: This is our second visit to Tavern Street Dental Practice and we are really pleased with the service we have received. All the staff are polite and helpful especially Tilly who was great.
Negative experience: Surprised to find I couldn’t postpone my appointment , without full payment, as I woke up with a heavy cold on the day of the appointment which was made some weeks in advance. Illnesses come in all shapes & sizes and we don”t sometimes know we are going to be ill 48 hours in advance to cancel in a more timely way. May be some flexibility & compassion rather than a fixed punitive approach? Thanks.
Fantastic experience: I walked in to sign up as an NHS patient and expected to have a long wait for an appointment. Tilly, the receptionist surprised me by offereing appointments with both the Hygienist and the Dentist tomorrow as she just had a cancellation. She was very friendly and polite and I'm looking forward to seeing my new dentist tomorrow.
Fantastic experience: Feared the worst when filling fell out, thought crown or removal was looming sorted me out very quickly with a new filling. Been with them 40 years and 3 owners always been happy with the service
Fantastic experience: New to the area I went on to sign up as an NHS patient expecting to be waiting months for an appointment surprised to be offered appointments with both the Hygienist and for a check up the next day, the receptionist worked it out so I would not miss my bus home as I live in a rural village. I found all the staff pleasant, friendly, professional and efficient. As someone who has had extensive dental treatment over the years and some anxiety with dentists I cannot commend the dentist practice or their staff enough! I am so happy I went with my gut and signed up with this dental practice and I am looking forward to my follow up appointment in three months. Thank you to all the staff I saw at my appointments. :-) (I will not name the staff members to protect their identities)
Negative experience: I was told my appointment was at 8:45 but when I arrived at reception a very rude young woman told me my appointment was actually at 8:30 Because I was ten minutes late due to the mistake that THEY had made, the young receptionist who was extremely patronising took great joy in informing me that I would not be allowed to see a dentist and that I would never be allowed to come back again. Avoid this dentist at all costs! Absolutely shambolic customer service.
Negative experience: Arrived for my children's appointment late which was my fault having hit a deer on route ,said sorry to receptionist for late arrival 10 minutes dentist was happy to still see them an motioned for the stairs i then asked if theres a lift as one of my children is disabled an has mobility issues all of which was provided in the forms filled in beforehand, receptionist then says il message dentist to see if we can use downstairs room an after a 5 minutes am then informed as we are late an its our first appointment its now cancelled an we are struck off there books . Although moment's earlier it was okay
Fantastic experience: Really great, reception team friendly and helpful. Waited less than a week for an nhs appointment which is super considering I've got friends on 6 month waits elsewhere! My dentist is Pasan niroshana Lebunasin Arachchige and he's so fantastic, really positive and helpful with some tricky teeth, enjoy coming here!
Fantastic experience: Very satisfied with outstanding dental treatment received with Dr Franciska Veldhuizen and her team at Tavern Street Dental practice. Professional service with a relaxing, non judgmental attitude, focusing on patient care and providing a personal, bespoke journey throughout the course of recent dental surgery. After many years an NHS patient the reality of “the basic standard of dental care” provided by surgeries facing governmental funding crises and ever increasing demand made the choice to opt for private dentistry a financial burden worth considering for dental health and mental wellbeing. Franciska undertook the provision of an upper and lower denture (a very precise and difficult procedure to deliver satisfactorily… as anyone in this position will appreciate). Resulting in a set of perfectly fitting dentures that cosmetically look great, allowing the mind to concentrate on more than how demanding having “false teeth” can be with self esteem and dietary constraints. I can recommend Tavern Street Surgery for anyone considering NHS or Private care through experience and can not thank the whole team enough for the positive impact they have had on my future life.
Fantastic experience: I am impressed with the service I received at Tavern Street Dental Practice. All the reception staff were very friendly and the dentists were kind and professional. All in all I’m very happy with the work I’ve had done.
Fantastic experience: Excellent service received from the reception and the dentist Mr Sharma & assistants themselves. Polite, empathetic and friendly. I asked for an emergency appointment and was offered one early the same afternoon. I have quite serious health issues anyway, and these were taken into account in a caring manner. I was instantly put at ease ahead of quite a serious treatment involving removal of a broken molar and quite extensive upper jaw work etc. I was then given lengthy aftercare information and advice. I am hugely appreciative of their professionalism, and highly recommend their services.
Fantastic experience: Registered on December 27th,first appointment December 31st! NHS !! Excellent service, thorough, caring and kind. From the receptionists to the dentist and dental nurse. So pleased to find such a great place and to be an NHS patient.
Negative experience: It pains me that you cannot leave a minus star as 1 star is too good. Very very rude receptionist. Threatened to take me to court DESPITE them holding MY money on account as I prepaid for the treatment, yes I got my money back. Did not assess my wifes needs adequatetly and told all was okay but having had a second opinion by another dentist, she required £1450 worth of treatment. Very, very happy to see this business has made it to the EADT highlighting yet another concern and mentioning other complaints made.
Fantastic experience: Really impressed so far, I needed an emergency appointment as I was in agony with my wisdom tooth. I was called back quickly and booked in for that morning. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. It's a very modern practice as well, I even got to see my x-ray on the TV and talked through what was going on and why I was in so much pain. I was quickly given antibiotics and booked in for surgery next week. Let's hope for a quick recovery!
Negative experience: I am VERY UNHAPPY with the service I received at Tavern Street Dental Practice. On the 16th May 2023 I paid for a set of top dentures which I never received. It seems that the practice says the Dentist should pay and the Dentist the practice should pay. So refund HIGHLY UNLIKELY!
Fantastic experience: Took a while after registering to get my first appointment but when they called they had space the very same day! Dentist was great. Friendly and efficient. Was impressed with the set up too.
Hi James, thank you for your review. We really appreciate you taking time out to share your experience with us and so pleased. We look forward to seeing you at your next appointment with us. Kind regards Tavern Street Dental Team
Negative experience: They tell lies and are terrible to deal with! Judging by the other reviews I’m not the only patient who’s had trouble with them. I will never be back.
Fantastic experience: The best dentist ever !!! Always helpful, polite, know their stuff and have great premises and all their staff are lovely. Would recommend to anyone, especially, if like me you are terrified of dentists, don’t like a lot of pain or really need get your smile sorted out!! Thank you
Negative experience: Show the dentist a hole in my tooth he sed its a discolouration incompetence on a highest level , they claim on their website they do service which they dont and try to send you to Cambridge or elsewhere for treatment. Joke and usted be a great dentist with the previous owner.
Negative experience: I feel like it's a bit of a con saying they take NHS, but really? They don't you go and still have to pay private treatment.Been on their register over 6 months and still not put on NHS. When I went to my second appointment, a customer in front of me asked about NHS.And they gave an appointment on the NHS.I asked why have he got NHS?And I cannot. Maybe it's because he just needed a check up and they no it It's disgusting the way dentists charge prices. With someone who's in pain and need help shame on them
Negative experience: Tavern Street Dental Practice,Stowmarket - It's very clear this practice is taking advantage of the lack of NHS dental services currently available and place unrealistic demands on appointments with restrictions and punishments if their demands are not met. The customer service level is appalling, there's no empathy, respect and a failure to meet customers basic needs with no regard for care. It is shocking how this practice is able to advertise or conduct business and go unchecked/regulated by the he General Dental Council (GDC).
Negative experience: Over a year ago they advertised as taking on NHS patients on the NHS website and informed you had to attend to complete paperwork. It's a distance from home but my partner drove it anyway. Never heard from them and approximately 6 months later got a flyer through the post saying again they are taking on new NHS patients. This mail out must have covered a very large area. They have never contacted him to offer an appointment and they say you are not allowed to phone for an update. I don't know why they think it is ok to mislead so many. Shocking, just be honest. Not to be trusted. I heard on the TV that dentists receive a payment for every new NHS patient they take on, is this thier scam???
Fantastic experience: I cannot praise this dental practice enough! From the ladies on the reception, on the phone and face to face were lovely, polite and friendly. Dr Raval and his nurse Lily were professional putting me at ease. They also fitted me in as a emergency as I was off on holiday. I rate first class.
Negative experience: Really unprofessional and money grabbing experience. Late cancelled a free follow up appointment with Dr Ravel as wasn't 100% happy with what I had. Tried to charge me £100 to book review again and he couldn't even have the professionalism to phone me to discuss after I was told he would.
Negative experience: This is the worst dental practice ever, totally unprofessional, rude and liars! They put a penalty to my mother and request to NHS about my mother's treatment, and they requested to be paid for dentures which my mother didn't wanted and didn't receive. When we contacted NHS they explained the situation and they send us email which we need to resend to the dental practice. Once we resend it, the dental practice answer was that they can't give this information (which is not true because my mother and NHS want this information). We contacted NHS again and they explained us that the dental practice need to provide this information because it's my mother's right and NHS right to ask for it, and NHS told us to go to the dental practice and to show them the email with the requested information from NHS. Today we were in the dental practice and we ask them to provide this information and also to tell us did my mother received any dentures and were any dentures made. We was not rude or aggressive, we just asked questions and on some of their answers we disagree, because NHS explained us very well that the dental practice is obligated to give us this information. Also I told them that if they don't provide this information we will follow lawsuit against them (because it is in our right. Imagine, my mother need to pay £300 for something which she didn't want and didn't receive). After we sended another email with the requested information from NHS, their answer was the same (can not provide this information) and also the dental practice said that we were very rude and aggressive and we are no longer patients to the dental practice, probably because they didn't like the fact that we disagree with them because we know our rights. We didn't raise our voice, we wasn't aggressive and disrespectful.. we just asked questions. Now they are still refusing to give the information to my mother and NHS, they are lying and they are trying to steal money from the people. I can't believe how this scammers are still operating in nowadays. And also before time (3-4 months) they infected my brother's mouth with very bad infection after hygiene treatment. He couldn't eat for 2 months. This is totally unacceptable. I do NOT recommend to anyone, nobody deserves such a disrespect and headache.
Fantastic experience: Well jolly jolly I must say the best nhs dental service I have received in a long time! Grace was very knowledgeable and put my mind at rest being a nervous patient. All reception staff were extremely kind and helpful! I look forward to my next dental check up in 6 months time!
Fantastic experience: As someone who has complete dental phobia, the team here made me feel completely at ease. Very friendly and polite. A lovely clean and calm environment made even much easier for me! Highly recommend this Dental Practice!
Negative experience: Dreadful patient relations. Failed to respond after I communicated 3 times regarding the fact they struck my son off after a genuine mistake which I owned. Finally found out once I telephoned the practise to be given the news that my son was no longer welcome by the receptionist. Obviously I asked questions as to why and was upset. They only responded once I escalated my dissatisfaction to other complaint agencies. They were then very clever and dealt the 'I was rude and aggressive'. Clearly we are not allowed to enquire regards their decisions yet there rudeness of a no response to my communication seems to have been overlooked. This then resulted in them pulling the 'zero tolerance' card which conveniently puts all there wrong doings right. I'm absolutely appalled at how myself and my son has been treated, I was not rude or aggressive in anyway shape or form. This practise has no compassion, empathy or flexibility. They prize themselves as offering me and my family a first class service, but infact they just have the power to discard whom they see fit due to the current climate of NHS dentists availability. I refuse to be disrespected and unheard by this practise.
Fantastic experience: Recently registered with Tavern Street Dental Practice on the back of needing an emergency extraction. Tilly and the other reception team members were all very welcoming and friendly, The dentist, Mr Raval, was excellent, he x-rayed the problem tooth, explained the issue and options and took the tooth out within a very short while. And it wasn’t painful physically or financially.
Negative experience: Called a number of times whilst at work the day before my appointment and told to book a hygienist. Tried to cancel as I genuinely do not need it (I’ve been asked to go twice in my life before coming to this practice where they tell me to every 6 months) and told I can’t. Said I felt pressured into it and the receptionist sighed as they said they didn’t pressure me. Abhorrent behaviour, incredibly rude.
Negative experience: I was seen as an emergency due to bad mouth and gum pain as 111 and my doctors and local dentist wouldn’t help. It was £50 upfront which seemed reasonable for an emergency. I had a few XRays and was seen by the dentist / practice owner! I have a SEVERE fear of dentists due to a bad experience when I was a teen and the dentist seemed nice as did the nurse. However when advised I needed a tooth extraction I asked if there was a way this could be done under sedation and was told no and should I find someone that did do it would be “thousands and thousands” but if I wanted it pulled under local anaesthetic they could do it for £300. This made me panic more and I asked to go away and think about it as I couldn’t go through a local. Since leaving I have contacted a private clinic for extraction and found out it really won’t be “thousands and thousands” for sedation! I have since emailed and asked tavern street for my Xrays so the private clinic can view them and have been told I need to post a request in writing then wait 28 days for them to be released! I work in a GP surgery for the NHS so believe me when I say this sounds ridiculously excessive! They clearly don’t want to help they just want your money which was a shame!
Fantastic experience: After my old Dental practice closed last year I have been a bit slow finding a new Dentist but after coming back from holiday yesterday with a really painful tooth, this practice was recommended by a friend. I was a bit concerned looking at the reviews but thought I would try them anyway. Phoned and spoke to a very helpful receptionist about registering, and she advised me to fill in an on-line form, but I had a problem returning it so I called them again and spoke to another very pleasant receptionist who suggested I popped in to register. Arrived and spoke to Tilley who just couldn't be more helpful, after filling in the form I couldn't believe she booked me straight in for today for a check up, and after seeing the Dentist Cheerag Raval who was totally professional, he carried out X Rays and advised that the tooth needed extracting, and that I needed to see the Hygienist. He then managed to get me back in within 20 minutes to remove the tooth. Finally went to pay and spoke to Tilley again who managed to get me in tomorrow for the Hygienist appointment. This wasn't just good service, this was exceptional service, and I would definitely recommend them. Just wanted to add to this review I was back again yesterday to see the Hygienist unfortunately I was late as I got delayed in traffic, I called and explained and again the receptionists couldn't have been nicer. Emmanuel the Hygienist was actually waiting for me when I finally arrived, and after explaining everything to me, I had the best scale and polish ever.
Fantastic experience: Having not been to a dental practice in over 20 years .I was very surprised at how friendly all the staff were .I was made to feel very welcome as soon as I walked in by Tilly at the front desk . I had Dr Raval .It turns out I needed to have 2 teeth taken out but Dr Raval and his assistant talked me through the whole process and made me feel very calm throughout.thank you
Fantastic experience: Great dentists, went in for an emerency appointment thinking id be sitting waiting around at a busy time of day, only had to wait a couple minutes to get seen and no one else was in the waiting room for a long period of time either. Tilly on reception was friendly and chatty and a great first impression of the place. Dr Raval was great, explained everything nice and clearly and made the entire process quick and as painless as possible.
Negative experience: I missed an appointment due to train strikes and due to a late cancellation policy i was never made aware of I can no longer use this practice under the NHS, despite being on benefits and unable to go private, physically or financially. This is a joke.
Fantastic experience: Contacted the practice requiring emergency treatment. Staff v.helpful and friendly, dentist had lovely manner and was extremely kind and gentle.
Negative experience: I brought my Grandfather in this morning for an appointment booked at 9:50, I have two emails stating this time & upon arrival I was told that the appointment was in fact at 9:40, the receptionist was incredibly rude and did not care to understand that my grandfather is elderly and needs a bit of extra explanation. The next problem was that NHS patients HAD to go upstairs, now this wouldn’t have been for a problem if there was a handrail on the stairs, which there currently is not. This is a massive Health & Safety risk. Therefore my 80 year old Grandad cannot do the stairs without handrails/ bannisters. The accessibility issues are a major concern and need to be addressed immediately, if you are not rife for purpose why have you opened. We were then told to go round the corner and sit in what felt like a second class citizen area ( a small corridor with two chairs ( chairs have no arm rests to help the elderly get in or out of those seats) because he is an NHS patient. I am absolutely disgusted in the way he was spoken to and treated, because he is an NHS patient. If he was private would he have been treated a little better maybe? Please could I request the Practice Manager to contact me back on this email so I can ensure this experience will not happen to anyone else
Negative experience: Had appointment booked for my 2year old, due to having absolutely no NHS dentists near us, we have to travel 20 miles for this dentist. Have been stuck for over an hour in a traffic jam due to a collision and even after calling twice to update them about our lateness, due to a 'universal rule' as my son has missed his 1st appointment, they can not re book his appointment and is now left with no dentist. Receptionist telling me we have wasted the dentists and Practice time!! I could understand if we booked and never bothered, but considering I called to update, they even said when we booked appointment yesterday 'if any problems give us a a call', which I did and still got kicked off their books!!! Absolutely ridiculous!!!
Negative experience: Not. Strange response from Tavern Street Dental Practice as stated below. I review based on my own experience. Shows how paranoid and desperate they are to blame my wife for my review. Rude and aggressive staff who are obsessed with accusing their customers of being the aggressor. Clearly a very sad collection of individuals who work here as they put so much effort into rubbishing anyone's negative review. It seems that there is a culture of nastiness at this dental practice. Clearly a tactic to get rid of NHS patients. And in responce to your standard answer of "we do not tolerate rude and aggressive behaviour blah blah blah...." to anyone who dares to criticise: well I, like many many others, do not tolerate rude and aggressive dental practices.
Dear Mr Newman,
We pride ourselves on a high standard of care at our practice.
I am unable to find any details or concerns on your file but understand that this may be in conjunction with your wife's review made in August 2022.
We have a very clear zero tolerance to aggressive or rude behavior towards our staff.
Fantastic experience: Another brilliant visit. Booked in privately for hygienist 70.00 very good price for the noticeable appearance and feeling of my teeth even offered me an injection in case I felt pain but I declined as had to work after. The whole treatment was pain free. I rebooked this treatment for Nov. Looking forward to my return something I would never say for dental treatment. Thankyou for reassurance with questions about the future of my teeth. Very well cared for and friendly service.
Thank you Jannine for sharing your kind 5 star review, we really appreciate it.
Kind regards

Negative experience: I was going to go through the complaints process, however when I left today there was no one on reception to ask. I attended my appointment in the new building across the road from the old site. I had received an email instructing me to do so as the new premises were ready. This place is not ready to receive patients. It is DIRTY quite literally the floors were filthy and the walls and skirting were scuffed and haven’t even been painted, there are electrical cables hanging out of the walls. It did not feel like the sterile environment you would expect from a dental surgery. I pointed out the debris on the stairs and the dental assistant just laughed. I was also shocked to be asked to pay before my appointment and make another straight away but ok, I paid by card but was angry to be told the price was £16 more than what I had previously been quoted, I asked if the prices had gone up again and the receptionist said yes they go up every April. Would have been nice to know ahead of time for budgeting purposes! The hygienist just mumbled through the usual questions in a dark room with no windows and after being forced to make a 30 minute appointment (they no longer do 20 minute appointments) I saw nothing for the extra time or money - if anything she did a less thorough clean and moved a lot slower! They didn’t even place the little cover over me to protect my clothes. I can no longer afford this service which is a shame as I have been able to attend for several years. There was a mix up as the dentist called someone else in when he meant to call me but when that was sorted I went in and this Dentist was the only person with any customer service skills. He listened and did a good job. I doubt I will ever see him again as it seems to be a different person every time I go. This is not the first time I have been disappointed by the service, in the past I have been spoken to rudely, been ignored when I had concerns about a filling and every time I leave, I feel I have been ripped off! I am looking for a new place now. I’ve had enough. I have been going to tavern street since I was little, never missed an appointment but since Mrs Taylor left everything has been terrible.
Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars, I would. Please get rid of all of your receptionist and start again as they are rude, unprofessional and do not suit a customer service role, hanging up, putting you on long holds never ever have I dealt with such incompetent staff, will be taking this to the national dental complaints service over repeated issues, really its so bad that your front of house is so poor! As it says in all of the comments in your reviews, do something about it!!!
Fantastic experience: I was sceptical about Tavern Street dentist as heard mixed things, however tried to register with them for NHS dental treatment as have alot of dental issues. I have been really happy with them so far. The receptionists have been polite and helpful. My new dentist Puyan and dental assistant Georgia, have been fantastic !! Puyan explains everything clearly, is gentle in his approach ( I am quite a nervous patient!), and I can't praise him highly enough. He definitely put me at ease. I can not fault the treatment at Tavern Street dentist so far, and I managed to get on as an NHS patient in case anyone else is looking.
Negative experience: Arranged to visit in person , drove over an hour , filled out form outside in cold and rain , form had to be checked prior to leaving to ensure all ok and confirmed all correct , waited a month or so , called to enquire , said going through lists to wait until I receive a call , received a message from my brother who signed up saying share the news they have expanded and taking on new nhs patients , emailed and asked when I would be looking at an appointment , they responded my form may have been incomplete , or other … so the application forms get shredded , no phone call to say not on the waiting list or form was incorrect , told I have to travel back and do it all again , emailed and explained my form was checked , got referred back to thier original reply which is unwelcoming and full of demands on patient behaviour . Emailed and asked if I could attend on a date in June with time and if this would be suitable .. ignored . Disgusting customer service .
Negative experience: What's an absolute disgraceful service... The receptionist was so rude I would rather stay in pain...! Very unprofessional! I don't like being hung up on when I'm halfway through a sentence! It seems to me most dentists can't be asked with NHS patients nowadays and this one just proves it...
Fantastic experience: It was a pleasure to be treated by Joy and her assisted who I have forgotten her name ( sorry). So gentle and professional in their work. Highly recommend practice the staff are lovely and the new building is great too. Thanks
Hi Danny,
Reading this kind of feedback is very rewarding for us all.
Joy and Darci appreciate your comments.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
We look forward to seeing you at your next visit with us.
Kind regards

Fantastic experience: My mum who is in a wheelchair was looked after excellently by all the staff. The receptionist was so helpful and could not of been anymore professional. The dentist and nurse put my mum's mind at ease and she was really happy with the service she received. I must seriously look into registering myself, if only I had some teeth left.
Negative experience: I was left on the NHS waiting list for over 7 months, even though I was informed at the time of applying that the expected wait was less than 6 months. When I called to check the status of my application, I was told they had no idea! I couldn’t believe this, it seems very unprofessional to not keep track of those on the waiting list. I was told that I would get a call at some point and if I missed it for whatever reason, my application would be put to the bottom of the list. Absolutely atrocious approach to customer service, especially when I noted on my application that I require relatively immediate treatment for an ongoing issue. I wouldn’t bother wasting your time waiting for this practice to neglect your application. A year long wait for missing a phone call! No email follow up, no second call, just thrown to the bottom of the pile. Ridiculous. They did however ‘graciously’ offer me private treatment that I could book immediately. Suffice to say that if I require private treatment, I will not get it here.
Negative experience: Appalled with the service, 13 months ago I put 3 of my children and myself onto the NHS waiting list , since then 1 of my children have been offered dental care (poor dental care, where they chipped a tooth and tried to act like they hadn't which persisted into further pain, then they opted us for more complex dental care to sort the issue after, not quite something you want a young child to go through) since being offered a appointment for my youngest 12 months ago they have neglected any appointments or further correspondence for my other 2 children or even trying to get them in and everytime I call they put you on hold for long periods at a time. I then get met with rude receptionist who think they have the power of God telling me we will just have to keep waiting for my other 2 children who were signed up 13 MONTHS AGO!! Since my youngest first visit, they have bombarded me with countless calls and emails for extra appointments for my youngest that are just not needed! Why can't my other children be seen? I can imagine because when they called me and told me that I would have to pay for myself 3 months ago after stating it was a waiting list for NHS care when I first signed up, I refused myself and said ill pay else where (wouldnt of taken myself out of MY reg dentist if i knew this, I needed a dentist for my children and wanted us together) , they dont want to know now? Just a money train hoping they will be able to charge adults, i dont mind paying but 13 months for children??? You wait less time for a autism diagnosis!!
Fantastic experience: I’ve just had my first appointment after registering as an NHS patient. My registration went seamlessly and incredibly quick. I’d just like to say that this practice is fantastic! The staff are brilliant and very professional. And wow the new premises is fantastic! I couldn’t recommend anymore. Thank you Tavern Street team!
Negative experience: I’ve been to this dentist for the past couple of years and it’s been decent everytime that I’ve gone and I had no complaints. However, recently I had my checkup appointment with one of the dentists being Cheerag Raval. Who did a routine checkup for me and then got me to sign a document for my appointment. After I had my checkup completed I enquired about how much it would cost for a new retainer, as my old one was getting a bit grubby. He told me that for a new retainer it would cost £175 which I then agreed to have the impression done for. After this I then asked if it was much extra for a bottom retainer to be fitted, and he told me that it was £10 cheaper overall due to shipping costs, as I was baffled and didn’t really understand I chuckled and said along the lines of “oh really!? I don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t just get both then?” He didn’t reply to me and there was some awkward silence, but I tried to make conversation again by repeating something along the lines of “well that doesn’t really make much sense to me l but I’ll take having the money off” again the dentist again didn’t say a word. After I had both my hygienist/checkup and impressions taken for a new retainer I then went to the front desk. I asked to pay for all of my treatments at once and I then received a receipt for £283 which consisted of my checkup/hygienist appointment and the cost of what I was told was my retainers… A week passed by and the practice rung me to say that my retainers had arrived and that I could come and pick them up that day if I wished. I then went to the practice picked them up and left… little did I know the dentist would then contact me to say that I had an outstanding balance to pay for my retainers. I then sent them an email with my receipt for when I paid £283 for my treatments, however the dentist then told me that I had to pay an additional £165 for my bottom retainer, I then emphasised that I was told that getting both was £10 cheaper and that I wouldn’t have got the bottom impression done had I have know that it was £165 more. I then had a few back and forth emails with Cheerag Raval, who completely lied and told me that it was clearly explained to me when I had the impressions taken about the cost of them both which it was not. What the practice needs to understand is that they made a clear error when telling me that my total cost was £283 on the day I had all my treatments complete. As why would I ask to pay for one impression of the retainer when I clearly asked to pay for all my treatments at once. It’s very clear that there is poor communication between the practitioners and the front desk as the receptionists were asking a lot of questions to each other when trying to find what I needed to be charged. Again had I have known that I would have needed to pay £165 extra for the cost of an extra retainer I would have never had it completed…
Negative experience: Had first check up advised needed referral to his colleague £900 route canal apparently ( nhs website states £600….) second visit cancelled in good time due to flu, next appointment 3 months later I cancelled in good time as I had Covid. Now told off their books! Emailed evidence of my calls cancelling and offered letter from GP but not interested. Receptionists very abrupt and rude, totally lacking any empathy. Note lots of patients have had same experience so if you have Covid don’t cancel just go to your appointment. CQC are aware of many complaints. If you have had the same treatment please advise the CQC. 2 months later still not been sent written notice to advise off their books, which is a requirement.
Negative experience: I was told that they are taking NHS. This turns out to have been a lie. Sure, if you jump through hoops and do things their way and not how ones disability allows one too then NHS help might have been available.. As it is I now have a mouth full of pain and no idea what to do. Don’t waste your time with these people
Negative experience: Firstly, I didn't have any big issues with the practice, minus the fact I've had a different dentist each time I go so no real consistency if that's what you like from a dentist. However, I've recently had to move as due to some 'missed' appointments (one being from 3 years ago when I had Covid but sure rules are rules according to Tavern Street..) I've had many appointments since then via NHS and paying private for hygienist so surely redeemed a one cancelled appointment but got informed I've been moved from NHS to private as all they care about is the money. I didn't even realise I was on the naughty list, just called to book and informed I now need to pay them more. They need to really work on customer service as really don't put customers first. Dentists and hygienists I've seen have been professional each time, but it's purely the management of the reception team and the focus on money above anything else. Going from theme of these reviews they should really start changing their attitude as it's doing them no favours currently.
Negative experience: I'm not happy about a recent experience with this practice. Five weeks ago, I saw an opportunity to sign up with the Tavern Street practice because it was indicated that their practice has NHS spaces on the NHS website, so I decided to pick up the opportunity because I wrongly assumed there could be benefits to having an NHS dentist. I was initially told it will be on a waiting list which could be 3 to 6 months which was fine with me because my most recent check up was in September with a private dentist and I wouldn’t be due one for six months anyway. However, I got the surprise of my life when I got a phone call week and I was told that they could book me in, so I took up the opportunity. I guess that should have been a red flag for me, which I ignored. Fast Forward to the check up. During the check up the dentist was patronising and it was a very unpleasant experience. He told me I would need a whole range of treatment, for issues that had not been picked up by other dental professionals. Following that check up he subsequently acted on his 'findings' without consulting me, which is very unprofessional. What's worse is that he acted on his 'findings', even after I had told the surgery that I do not wish to proceed with treatment with them and requested to remove me off their books. I've made a formal complaint.
Negative experience: Absolutely horrendous staff - no surprise there reviews are continuingly negative, their staff are rude and unhelpful. After receiving a leaflet through my door advertising NHS appointments, I was hung up on and shouted at for merely enquiring. Absolutely outraged. Wouldn't recommend even with the difficult circumstances we have with NHS availability.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely the BEST dentist practice I've ever belonged to. Super friendly, quick at fitting me or the family in. We see Joy and she really is incredible, so happy, friendly and a great dentist with lots of knowledge Had a filling today (which I've always hated with other dentists as have trigeminal neuralgia ) but I had NO pain, even having the injections. Honestly never want to change dentists again! Practice is exceptionally clean with state of the art equipment, can even see your xrays on a big tv. Joy explains everything fully. Jodie is a great assistant to Joy and they work together so well, positive and happy atmosphere with a gentle touch too.
Negative experience: I feel absolutely distraught by the way I have been treated today by your staff. I was never once rude, I had not raised my voice and I definitely was not disrespectful to your member of staff. I recorded the phone call So, I have proof of this. All I was trying to do was make sense of why I was refused treatment and that was what I was asking .It was very frustrating as every time I tried to speak, I was interrupted and when I did, I was told by your member of staff the phone call would be terminated. I came to you a month ago for my first initial check with you guys , I was told that my upper 3rd tooth has no root with a grade two mobility. You also advised me that this tooth could last a day or another five years. Which at my age alarmed me , Then I asked what you would recommend and I was told that either braces or an implant would be an option. I was told this was something you couldn’t offer and I asked for recommendations but there was none offered. I feel from my own personal opinion I should have been offered a referral or more guidance from the very beginning but this didn’t happen. At this point after feeling quite distressed about this so I done my own research and found my own private dentist who could offer me braces and the process has begun. The private dentist sent the referral to yourselves to remove three teeth the baby tooth plus two others due to my grade 2 bite . Your practice manager told me that you could not due the treatment as you personally did not refer me to an orthodontist which was not offered so I presumed I needed to sort his out myself. You were quite happy I book me in to see the hygienist and to see me in another six months. I could understand if this was for cosmetic purposes but this is not the case, I have had to worry about this for some time now. I have not been rude or aggressive I feel I have been treated very badly. After being hung up on like this it is very bad practice and then to have my number blocked when I tried to call back to see what the problem was. Then as I couldn’t get through to you I decided to come to the practice as I had been advised medically that I need this treatment a.s.a.p. as I can not eat on this side of my mouth. After turning up I was told to leave again and told I should send an email I wasn’t rude but again I was treated badly. The owner came out I asked politely if I could talk privately but in front of a room full of patients i was refused bluntly and i had been told I had been struck off and I need to leave immediately. I have never felt so much disrespect by anybody let alone the N.H.S and the treatment today was appalling . I thought that this establishment stood for care and compassion but this wasn’t the case today .
Fantastic experience: A really excellent experience. I called at 11.45am in pain, with a tooth that needed to be removed. I was offered an appointment with Dr Raval at 3.30pm the same day. Receptionist - Darci, Dental Nurse - Tilly and Dentist Dr Raval were all highly professional.
Fantastic experience: I have been really happy with Tavern street dental practice I have been a customer for many years and recently have had sure smile braces, teeth whitening and bonding and I am so happy with the results and service I received Aarushi Khurana Was great and worked with me throughout to get the results I wanted. Very friendly dentist Highly recommend
Fantastic experience: I am a new patient at this practice and I must admit I was quite nervous for my appointment this morning after reading such terrible reviews. The staff were welcoming and I only waited a few minutes to see the dentist who was very professional. I definitely had a better experience for my first check up compared to registering. I hope this review helps others who are unsure about this practice as each person will have a different experience and if the practice was so bad they would be shut down.
Negative experience: Dental staff are nice but the practice is run by some of the rudest and most unpleasant people I’ve come across. Just look at how they respond to other complaints in the reviews. Thoroughly unprofessional. I asked for a copy of their complaints policy and was told I couldn’t have it because I wasn’t a patient. I am a patient. I have reported them to my MP and will raise with the relevant NHS bodies. Courtesy costs nothing.
Negative experience: Awful Dental Practice - AVOID, AVOID, AVOID This dental practice is only interested in taking your money, without any concern for the ethical obligation to provide aid, even privately. I had a checkup on 26/02/24 during which the dentist discovered I have an abscess forming which is causing me discomfort and pain. I was put on the spot to decide on a root canal treatment (£1200) or a tooth extraction (£175). Feeling backed into a corner I left and made other arrangements by having the treatment in a different country (significantly cheaper!!!)I kindly asked for a prescription to be made out for antibiotics (which I was happy to pay for as a Private client)to ease the pain but was denied due to the fact the Practice isn’t making any money out of me, directly. They then tried to make out I’ve been calling them asking for a prescription the day before… ? Bizarre, poor experience. Please, avoid this practice - as you can see by other similar reviews, this practice is more of a money making racket than a friendly Dentist they are making out to be. They DO NOT have your best interest at heart, only their bottom line.
Thank you so much for your review and kind words, we really appreciate it.
Kind regards
TavernStreetDental Team
Negative experience: Singularly the WORST dental practise I have ever encountered. Waiting room overflowing with desperate people, dirty and unclean conditions, rude receptionists, overhearing ongoing complaints, claims to sign up new NHS patients but doesn't put you on the computer system unless you pay for a Hygienist appointment first, won't offer an appointment even if you pay privately as new patients registrations are kept on paperwork and they "haven't got time to go through 20,000 bits of paper" to book an appointment. Please think twice before registering here and search through Facebook and Instagram for all the horror stories they tried to block and delete. This place needs shutting down.
Negative experience: Unfortunately my experience at Tavern street dental practice was not great , having been sent a flyer through the door i went to the practice to sign up as a nhs patient , i was asked to go outside to sit to fill out a medical form it was a bit chilly and all the seats were soaking wet , so i returned inside and stated to the reception the seats were wet so i am sitting inside, i was then confronted by a lady from reception that i couldn't sit in the waiting room due to health and safety rules ? Which i have found out is absolute rubbish ,having spoken to someone who worked for health and safety , the lady was quite aggressive and made me sit outside as were others , she did say why didn't i get someone to clean the seats i replied that wasn't my job as a new customer ,i could see that the lady was quite agitated so i said politely i didn't come to cause any problems i came to sign up for nhs treatment ,my wife has been and managed to sign up straight away , i haven't heard anything since my visit ,just to add insult to injury my wife popped in on friday and saw lots of people signing up for nhs applications sitting in the waiting room ? I wish the practice well but would decline from joining as the lady in reception has put me off .
Negative experience: Stay well clear of this dentist! They are con artists! My partner Paid £225 to have a tooth extracted and the dentist has left a piece of tooth inside the gum, they now want to charge her another £50 to remove the piece of tooth! Absolutely ridiculous!
Negative experience: Was first in the queue as they advertised for nhs places - never received a response. 4 of us in the rain… Certainly wouldn’t recommend after my experiences with them. As for Tavern Streets response - if you are late, unable to attend you are removed from the nhs dentists list. Personally, as a private patient i was told I couldn’t become an nhs patient because i’d been a private patient. I emailed for a quote over and over again and was removed as a private patient too. I was apparently rude on the phone. That was despite emailing. Disgraceful that dentists have become so inhumane. Next stop Is the ombudsman and MP followed by social Media. I complained and had my membership stopped without notification. There are superior dentists in Suffolk. Tavern Street need to be avoided as they deserve to be ignored. I only wanted a quote for my teeth. Silly me for emailing… Also don’t use Denplan as i’m owed £200 from Tavern Street and have to take them to court to get it back as they won’t respond. I will try asking in reception but doubt i’ll get my owed money. Complete joke. Avoid Tavern Street - which is a shame as I imagine they are decent Dentists but totally unacceptable. Read their response - threats? I don’t think so. Denplan is a waste of time and money and I will get my money back.
Updated response- 5/12/23

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic service from a very nervous patient's first appointment can't say thank you enough to all the team at Tavern Dental Practice but a special massive thank you to Dr Grace, Katy and Tilly on the desk for making it all happen. I actually felt so relaxed had everything explained clearly was kept informed throughout and given great advice. And to top it am happy to be going back next week for my treatment. Thank you all again
Positive experience: I really liked this practice and the staff are lovely. Unfortunately they dropped me after two cancelled appointments. One I rang from the car park as I had covid symptoms and they told me not come in the second I cancelled due to illness. I would never have not shown up without calling. What a shame. Losing an NHS dentist. was really disappointing and not something I envisaged.
Negative experience: Absolutely apauling tricked me into thinking they was NHS, only told me the truth after I was in the chair and charged me 60 for xrays. Then would not release my xrays, which is illegal under the data protection act. When politely I requested them to be sent receptionist hung up on me. They are putting leaflets out saying they are NHS do not be fooled it's a con to get max profit minimal work. I'm shocked and apauled.
Dear Emma Longsocks.
Thank you for taking the time to review our practice.
We are accepting new NHS patients to our practice and have new bookings every day.
We do not charge £60 for X-rays.
For reasons that have been explained to you, we can of course release your your x-rays which you are aware of. We have a process to release them (due to GDPR) which you have disagreed to.
