Fantastic experience: In March 2025, we were in Edinburgh on vacation and my daughter had her 1 week old filling from her regular dentist fall out. It was very easy to schedule an emergency appointment online for the next morning. And based on the price list on their website, the cost for the procedure seemed fair given the emergency situation. Dr. Muhammad and the rest of the staff were very professional and explained the various options and the costs. However, at checkout, the price on our invoice was considerably higher. We were on a tour with timelines, so I couldn't stay around to question the price except with the front desk receptionist. If it wasn't for my daughter who also heard the same price quoted as I did, I wouldn't have followed up with an email. My expectations of resolution were low, but I was pleasantly surprised that the office manager emailed me back, and sorted it all very fairly, as well as updated the costs on the website to prevent future issues. The following week, my daughter saw her regular dentist, who said Dr. Muhammad used high quality materials for the emergency filling. Thank you Frederick Street Dental for the professional emergency services as well as great customer issue resolution!

Fantastic experience: Great dental emergency service, I was seen on Sunday and they did a great job on my tooth. Thank you to the members of staff who supported me during this treatment.
Negative experience: I came here in July to get my teeth whitened. The staff were all great from the top to bottom. However the teeth whitening process had no result whatsoever on my teeth, I emailed in and even provided photos throughout the process to see the little tocmot effect, i wondered whether the tray was potentially created too big or I wasn’t sure what could be the issue, however I contacted in the hope for some help. I was disappointed to receive 0 response, after all that is what I was told to do if there was any issues. For £370 in total paid for white teeth I was very let down.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic! Quick, straight forward and easy. As a person who needed their fixed retainer repaired, the options I was given were clear and informed. I hadn’t had treatment regarding my fixed retainer in over a decade and I was quite nervous. Absolutely no need to be worried It was great

Fantastic experience: We came to this clinic like emargency case, my son broke his tooth. We are tourists, so desperately looking for help in totaly unknown city. They took us almost immediately, doctor was nice, explained everything and fixed it so quickly. Thank you very much.
Negative experience: I had a really unpleasant experience during my visit here. I informed the dentist that I have sensitive gums, and although they reluctantly gave me a numbing injection, they didn’t wait for it to take effect before starting the procedure. There was no effort to be gentle, and the whole appointment felt rushed and careless. It ended up being one of the most uncomfortable dental visits I’ve ever had. I’ve since received an invitation for a regular check-up, but honestly, I’m too anxious to go back after what happened and in the process of looking for a new dental practice.
Fantastic experience: Fredrick Street Dental Care is the best I've been to. The staff are friendly, helpful and informative. My dentist is Dr. Mohammed, who always encourages me to take good care of my teeth and explains every process he is carrying out so I can understand and feel calm. I would highly reccomend this practise to anyone.

I unexpectedly had a big chip out of my back tooth and I needed urgent care so I decided to try this practice because my friend also recommended it! I was not disappointed, the staff and the dentist were all very lovely to me, and after all getting a tooth filling wasn't too scary! Fantastic experience: I attended yesterday at the Dental clinic with tooth ache. I had very painful tooth ache for a week. I booked in with the practice for Saturday. I arrived there but I was very nervous about it. Everyone in the clinic was very helpful and reassuring me for the procedure will be painfull. After the xray they said my teeth need to be removed due to excessive damage under the gum. My fear climb up to the ceiling. After talked with the surgeon he reassured me that what it will happen and how the procedure will be carried out, also he said it will be painless. After few minutes he told me that we done. I could not believe that it's over and did not feel any pain. I highly recommend this dental practice. Don't have to be registered patient. You can book in and they will see you as soon as possible. If you have any fear against the dental procedure they will make sure that you fully control and know what is happening. Highly recommend best dental practice i attend ever

Fantastic experience: Currently getting work done here, before coming in I hadn't been to the dentist in many years as I have had bad experience in the past from dentist cause of that I have dentophobia but since I have came here, I have felt great and I have had no issues my dentist WR (sorry don't know his full name) he has been kind and friendly been nothing but professional and made me feel comfortable every time I have walked in the door. Just have a filling done today and was told I would be getting a crown in a week or 10 days time absolutely fantastic and can't wait to come back for my next appointment. Can't recommend this practice enough.

Fantastic experience: I moved to Edinburgh about two years ago, having delayed the visit to a dentist due to concerns over Covid. Unfortunately when I called recently, I was told that I am not on their register as I have not yet seen the dentist! In desperation I called several local dentists, all full for new nhs registration. Luckily I was able to register at Frederick St and was seen on the same day, which was followed by a hygienist visit and a filling quickly. The service was first rate, friendly and professional. I fully recommend them. I just want to update - I had a denture made recently. It was a difficult job due to the irregularity of my teeth. Impressions were made twice to ensure a better fit. Dr MA was very patient with me, spending a significant amount of time fitting it to my satisfaction and teaching me how to manage it. The staff here from reception to nurse are also very friendly and helpful. I hope they can keep running this excellent nhs service, highly recommended! Update: I had my checkup today when Dr MA found a couple of fillings missing, which he repaired immediately. A great service! I also want to comment that the environment of the dental clinic is pleasing, spotless clean, with filter water and expresso coffee pots even!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I have been attending Frederick Street Dental Care for a number of years and on each visit the service has been excellent. Everyone on the staff is always very welcoming and professional. Recently I called because of a sharp pain in my wisdom tooth. I was immediately given an appointment and saw Dr. Mohammed who, after an examination, explained that the tooth should be removed. I saw the oral surgeon, Dr. Lyris, later the same day. Dr. Lyris walked me through the process in a calm and reassuring manner and I was put totally at ease. The extraction went well with no pain. After the surgery, I had no bleeding and no swelling. On a follow-up visit, Dr. Mohammed assured me that I had healed really well. My appreciation and thanks to Dr. Mohammed and Dr. Lyris for their excellent care. The practice receives my highest recommendation.

Positive experience: I had an emergency appointment£95 which they gave me an xray£20 and let me see it.i hoped for a resolution for the pain with treatment. First dentist that couldn’t tell me which tooth. Was causing the problem. I know that I have pain and it’s coming from that area - I’ve many a root canal to know what the damage is. The fees on the website were different from what I paid at the desk on exiting the building. Fees for dispensing antibiotics £50 were more expensive at the surgery than stated on the website £10 and £30 Might want to rectify that. The team were nice and quick at the emergency appointment.
Fantastic experience: I haven’t been to the dentist in almost 2 years because I was so afraid. But I needed to come in immediately for work done and the staff here were so beyond helpful and kind. They did everything they could to make sure I was doing okay. I couldn’t recommend them enough.

Positive experience: A last minute appointment to check an impacted (and infected) wisdom tooth. Very good care from the team and managed to deal with my medical history. I went away with a prescription of anti-biotics which I hope will work. They advised I need a quadruple wisdom tooth extraction, which I fully agree with but the prices are very high. My only comment is that they did not try to offer me solutions on how I could pay for what would be £1k+ in treatment, such as providing details on a dental insurance companies, etc. which is something I am currently looking to do so I can afford to book my treatment. If anyone has suggestions, this would be very helpful and appreciated.
