Negative experience: My son became ill before the appointment today, the appointment was booked for both my daughter and my son, who get seen one after the other. On arrival I apologised that my son couldn't make it last minute due to being poorly, which seemed to have been OK with the receptionist at the time. My daughter and I sat down in the waiting area to which the receptionist called my name out and asked me to come to the desk. When I arrived at the desk the receptionist looked red in the face and said "I have just had a look and your son turned 18 just recently" I agreed, then I was told quite rudely "your son is now an adult, he would be penalised if he didn't turn up to his booked appointment! Do you know that another person could of had that appointment! That's a 15 minute appointment that someone else could have taken" I apologised and said "I will let him know once he is better", it wasn't until I turned around that I realised the entire waiting room heard, including my daughter, the sister of a poorly brother. I feel this could have been handled differently, more discreetly and without the word penalise!!! As it happened, the dentist was running 15 minutes late, the receptionist never liaised with the dentist why my son wasn't there, although the dentist was very kind with the matter. The fact my son wasn't there actually ensured the dentist was caught up on timings for the next patient. For the receptionist to use this wording really did upset my daughter and myself, and it was quite frankly demoralising and humiliating. No one knows what is going on in other people's personal life. Be Kind. Definition of penalise: To punish someone

Always a kind and caring welcome and the treatment is always professional and calm and in the patients best interest. Many thanks for all your hard work. The practice is so clean and consistent.

Negative experience: The dentist wasn’t very friendly at all, I wish he was more sympathetic and helpful, I haven’t eaten for few days, also no sleep well, his word” the wisdom tooth doesn’t look that bad” Ignoring what I’m saying to him. No antibiotic, no painkillers! specially after Daley on my appointment. What’s is the point of paying NI taxes if you don’t get the service, this was emergency appointment, last time I use NHS dental was 15 years ago. Not great experience!

Fantastic experience: 5 stars for the dentist and receptionists. I saw a new dentist today as my regular dentist had left. She was very nice and informative and I warmed to her immediately. The receptionists are very nice and helpful too. Unfortunately I found the hygienist to be quite curt.

Fantastic experience: Throughout the past year I have had extensive dental treatment at Tonbridge Dentistry. The reception staff are friendly and welcoming but I cannot thank the incredibly professional, Kunal, who has given me my smile back. His kindness, care and extraordinary patience gradually built my confidence so I could have the necessary treatment. At each visit Kunal explained exactly what he was going to do and gave me time to ask questions ……even though they may have been through tears at the beginning! Today was the final big visit where I came out with a smile I hadn’t had for a very long time. I’m strangely looking forward to my 6 month checkup Thankyou, Kunal.

As a patient you feel that they care about you and your welfare is important. All options for treatment are explained and you are supported to make decisions. Most important the Dentists are patient, considerate and don't hurt you.

Negative experience: UPDATED REVIEW: Been a patient at this dentist for over a decade and always been positive about them. But now all trust has been broken after they lied to me just to make some cash.

Despite handling incoming calls and assisting patients at check-in, they go above and beyond to be helpful and approachable. In fact, when I visited today, their kindness and care really stood out, which reflects positively on the business. When I met with the dentist and the assistant, I was equally impressed by their personable and friendly demeanor. Fantastic experience: I had a problem tooth and was seen very quickly. Problem put right and check up done at the same time to save me having to have another appointment. Hygienist appointment this week and same great treatment. Very gentle and reassuring.

Fantastic experience: Lovely dental practise, I always see Nayan Patel and he is always very friendly and provides a good service. Whenever I have needed an emergency appointment they have been able to provide one on the same day and provide the relevant treatment e.g. filling at that appointment. I have recently had my first baby and was worried about taking him with me to the dentist, the whole team was so lovely and when he got a little upset whilst I was having a filling a lovely dental nurse came to soothe him. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I went to see N Patel to have a tooth out a few years ago as a new patient, he broke my tooth and it was pretty unpleasant. I'm a very nervous patient and he made no effort whatsoever to put me at ease. He also told me I'd need 2 fillings and I could have them both done at the same time. I gave it a couple of months for my gum to heal and called back to make the appointment for the fillings. I was working full time in London at the time so asked if I could have a weekend or evening appointment and the receptionist told me that I would need to change to another dentist as Mr Patel did not work evenings or weekends and if I changed dentists then I would have to pay for another new patient appointment!! I argued that how could this be - I'd only had the xrays and everything done less than 3 months before and that it seemed very duplicitous but was told that was how it was so I told them to stuff it. Fast forward to today, it's taken me all this time to pluck up the courage to go to a dentist again and I was expecting the worst knowing that I needed a couple of fillings 3 years or so ago but guess what?! No fillings neeeded!! I cannot stress enough to stay away from this disgusting money grabbing practice, rude staff and inept dentists! Avoid, avoid, avoid!!!

Positive experience: Today I went to the hygienist, having been asked to pay in advance £67 for service and asked for a further £15 as treatment starts for a "water jet" wasn't expecting a surprise like that.! Hygienist treatment should be more transparent with pricing like the dentist is.
