Positive experience: Very pleasant and polite staff both reception and clinical. Dental treatment by the NHS dentist once seen seemed thorough. The only reason for not a higher rating is because the overall approach of the new owners is very much aimed at the private patients (letter received indicating as much), and is geared to the “up-selling”. In addition, I was first appointment but was still 10 minutes late being seen, which is annoying when you’ve made the effort to be there on time.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to this dental practice for at least 20 years, although the dentists have changed over those years, the standard of care has remained high. In particular the hygenist. She has given me numerous pieces of advice for the past 2 to 3 years, she is very professional and has a wealth of knowledge. My only negative is that I now have to pay upfront for my hygenist appointment which is 6 months away! I understand the reasoning behind this, because so many people cancel appointments, but I never have nor have I ever been late. Perhaps target the serial non attendees?? Other than that, this is an excellent dentist and the reception staff are always welcoming and polite.

Positive experience: This practice has deteriorated since my last 6 month check. My dentist and hygienist are friendly enough but they now behave like they are on the clock. This after a 40+ % increase in monthly fees has me questioning the value and considering alternatives.

Negative experience: Filling fell out, new NHS lady dentist said she couldnt put a temporary filling in today as it would fall out. I find this very strange as I've had temporary fillings in the past & they've been fine! Now have to wait until 13th June for it to be done...not good enough. Bring back Mr Warwich!

Fantastic experience: I have not been to a dentist for 20 years I am petrified of them the way some people can't cope with hospitals. Faye and Tamzin on reception were lovely and welcoming. My appointment was with Naz as he introduced himself to me. Really nice man listened to my problems, helped me understood my nerves and put me at ease. He seems an excellent dentist and I shall now definitely become one of Naz's patients. So thank you all very much very impressed.

Negative experience: My name is Viktóriia Borynska. The doctor asked questions in a way that was disrespectful to the patient. The entire communication between doctor and patient on the part of the doctor was very incorrect and disrespectful. I am repeating the doctor's comments as accurately as possible for the readers: Doctor "Do you eat a lot of sweets?" Patient “No, I hardly eat sweets” D. "Do you perhaps often eat sweets, sugar?" P. “No, I don't eat sugar at all, and I eat sweets 2 times a week on Saturday and Sunday, usually a little.” Then sarcastic with a smile D. "Do you brush your teeth?" P. "Yes, I do brush my teeth in the morning and evening. I don't floss, but I use mouthwash" D. “Really”? I have never had a more disgusting visit to the doctor and contemptuous communication with me as a patient. This is my first experience at this clinic, and I hope it will be the last one. Next, to the results of my check up: I visited with a request: I have sensitivity of two teeth when I drink hot or cold. According to my feelings, I had no other complaints about the condition of my oral cavity and other teeth. The result of the doctor's examination revealed that I need to remove two teeth. The third tooth might have to be removed, and five more teeth need to be filled. And I came with a complaint about only two teeth that are sensitive to hot and cold. I’ve received a summary from the doctor that I will have to remove two teeth for sure, probably the third. Fantastic experience: Recently had 1st procedure towards dental implants on Monday with Dr Nazim Shah and team. From point of initial assessment, and on arrival was fully informed of all plan, risks , length of procedure and everything explained in detail. Reception staff always have a smile and very welcoming. Staff ensured pain free with LA , warm and comfortable and attentive / caring to all needs before , throughout and after procedure, calm atmosphere and music. Had teeth removal, bone graft, and temporary bridge. Advised verbally on taking antibiotics/ steroids and given take-home bag with - mouthwash, brush for future use, toothpaste and advised on salt mouth washes. Given aftercare advise on swelling , bruising and have since received follow up telephone calls checking in on me. Huge Thank you to all Dr Shah and all team on first stage of my journey x

Fantastic experience: Great dentists, and I can't recommend them enough , I recently had invisalign treatment which took about 10 months all told. My dentist was excellent, kind and caring and explained everything thoroughly. Once my first part of the treatment was over I wasn't quite satisfied with my lower teeth and how they had aligned, so my teeth were rescanned and I had a final adjustment phase. my result id amazing and i never thought I'd smile with confidence. Great team the receptionists are all lovely as well really friendly and helpful.

Having been to 3 other dental practices in Stafford I was fortunate enough to be able to register again at St Mary's. The other practices really don't compare. St Mary's have friendly staff and take the time to do a thorough job. Excellent.
