He has such a lovely approach with the teenagers constantly reassuring them and explaining every step of the way what he is doing. He provided excellent advice and was happy to answer any questions. Negative experience: Honestly, this place has been a terrible experience for us. The orthodontist we saw was consistently unfriendly and unprofessional. At my son’s first appointment—while he was still on the chair—a brace fell out during fitting. Instead of fixing it, the orthodontist just said to "do it next time." At the following appointment, she claimed the brace had broken and warned that if it happened two more times, they would stop treatment. This made my son extremely uncomfortable, especially since he had explained it had fallen out, not broken—but she dismissed his explanation. Things got worse. At a later visit, I tried to ask how we could prevent the braces from falling off (this happened even after eating something soft like pasta). The orthodontist told me to come closer, then within a minute told me to go sit down because I was "in her face and too loud." Her tone was unnecessarily rude. At another appointment, my husband (whose first language is not English) took our son. The orthodontist pointed out that three brackets had broken, then walked up to him, put three fingers in his face, and slowly repeated, “THREE, THREE, THREE,” as if he couldn’t understand basic English. It felt incredibly disrespectful, and honestly, quite mocking. There were also signs of carelessness—twice they forgot to attach the wire, and once they left out the wire on the entire bottom jaw. I've also overheard unprofessional comments from the orthodontist toward the receptionist, like “I wish I could collect a paycheck for doing nothing and being clueless.” She also blamed my son once for a broken brace, even though the wire hadn’t even been placed yet. To top it all off, many of the 5-star reviews here seem to be the result of a raffle where patients are told to rate them 5 stars for a chance to win a ‘mystery goody bag’—THIS IS COMPLETELY AGAINST GOOGLE'S REVEIW POLICY and raises questions about the authenticity of their ratings. EDIT: This is why there are only 20 ratings between in the 2,3 and 4 star range. Positives: The receptionist and the assistant are usually friendly and welcoming, and I appreciate their attitude. Also, my experience is specifically with one orthodontist; others may be completely different. Overall, though, the aggression, unprofessionalism, and carelessness we experienced made this a very negative and stressful journey for my son and our family.

Negative experience: Our daughter was referred this autumn to have braces fitted. After the braces were initially fitted, an end bracket fell off just six hours later on a Friday, after having only soup. She had to suffer through a painful weekend from the long sharp exposed wire, as no out of hours services are available. On Monday we only got an appointment to clip off the long wire end. We had to come back on Tuesday for a rushed procedure that took less than five minute, to refit the missing bracket and wire. I watched the orthodontist in horror as she hurried about and banged her elbow in my daughter’s face. To top it if she then moved the chair all the way up and told my daughter to jump off with her sprained ankle as she didn’t know how to get it down again. From then on the end wire came out at least 8 times and the wire itself has shifted, it sticks out too much on one side and has barely enough left to stay in on the other side. The teeth on the side where the bracket was reduced, have moved back out, as the pressure is not right. Now another end bracket fell off. Again we only got offered to come in to clip the excess wire off. We were told we have to wait a few weeks until our next routine appointment to get the missing bracket and wire ”potentially “ fixed, as the appointments are too short for any unplanned work, but the receptionist was trying to add 5 mins for this. The teeth have in the meantime completely gone out again, so all this suffering from continued botched jobs for nothing.

This may mean addressing the part of the brace causing pain as an interim procedure and arranging a repair at another time. Fantastic experience: Sutton Orthodontics have been amazing! My daughter had double train track braces fitted at the age of 14, provided by the wonderful NHS. She had a choice of colour for her braces. Every appointment we had was on time, everything runs like clockwork there. The staff are professional, polite and friendly and always with a smile. Everything is explained well. Parking is so easy on an adjacent road and free. It is calm there so you feel relaxed. The lead orthodontist is just exceptional. I can't praise the whole practice enough! Thank you all so much. If you have a choice where to go for treatment, definitely pick here!

Negative experience: I’ve had a terrible experience at Sutton Orthodontics, especially with Charlotte. She’s rough and harsh during appointments, and once I left with my mouth covered in blood without her telling me or giving me a tissue. Another time, she used a tool to push my tongue, making me choke and stop breathing, but she refused to move it. When I’m alone, she chats with her colleagues instead of focusing, and I’m certain that’s why my braces keep breaking. She acts nicer when my mum is there but has been rude to her too. The only good part is Neemah, the kind lead nurse. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Fantastic experience: My 13th year old son recently completed his Invisalign treatment at the Sutton Orthodontics clinic and we found that everything was perfect. The staff at the practice is extremely friendly and also accomodating. In particular, Dr Arya was very clear, patient and extremely professional in explaining to my son all the different steps he needed to go through and Melanie was always very helful in booking us in at the most convenient times as well as very quick at responding when we needed any clarification or help. The Invisalign treatment itself is seamless, pain free and producing great results in a short period of time. We would not hesitate to recommend Invisalign and the Sutton Orthontics clinic to anyone!

Negative experience: Please do not go here if you are black The stares, and the attempts to get you out of there as soon as possible, I went in to ask about there services and they immediately start telling me they don't take NHS patients just because I was wearing my uniform and started coating cost before I could say why I was there. Shame on you, you should do better.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Sutton Orthodontics. My treatment was quite complex and after 18months of wearing a fixed brace and rubber bands, which was quite challenging, I finally got to the end.. It was well worth it as I am delighted with the result. I wish I had done it sooner! Dr Arya and her team were fantastic and I will miss going to see them all… So, if you’re thinking of having your teeth straightened, go and have a consultation, and if you decide to go ahead, you will not be disappointed..

They have been brilliant from start to finish…we were told 24 month treatment it’s been 16 months and the braces are now off, my daughter is over the moon and her teeth look fantastic The team are lovely, always a great explanation and update with treatment and progress.
