Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with Holt House Dental Practice in Matlock. My wife was registered with them, yet we were never told she had been taken off their books. We only found out when she needed urgent help, and now she has been left in excruciating pain with nowhere to turn. This is completely unacceptable. Patients should never be left in the dark about something as serious as losing their place on a practice list. The lack of communication and care is shocking, and we feel badly let down.

Fantastic experience: As usual my appointment was punctual and the receptionist, also as usual, was pleasant and welcoming. The Dentist, Elizabeth, was friendly and efficient. She explained her examination and offered recommendations for my Dental care.

Negative experience: I haven't had a single good experience with these yet. I was put on the books with my family a couple of years back, but they took me off without warning. When I chased this up, I was told they could fix it and I could go back on, and they booked me in for an NHS appointment. But when I got to the surgery, they refused to serve me unless I paid private fees. I finally gave in this year and just paid private to get a checkup with a locum. They were still running 30 minutes late and recommended scale&polish, but had to book that separately (2 months later) and now after they've twice cancelled (after a flooded room and a staff absence) it's currently at 5 months later just for that scale & polish. (Providing they don't cancel again...)

Our last 2 visits have been with her and both of us are highly satisfied. So 5 stars and hopefully she will still be there on our next check up.

Fantastic experience: I was late for my appointment but I was still seen. All staff were thorough but welcoming and kind. The receptionist checked details and made sure all was on order. The dentist made sure I was comfortable throughout the check up and explained what she was doing. Excellent advice given on dental care in relation to my health issues. I was very satisfied with the care and service received.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I both had appointments with Tafadzwa Mbengeranwa and, as usual, she was brilliant. She put us at our ease, as we’re both quite nervous of the dentist, and made the whole experience much less stressful as we have endured in the past. We were both informed that we would require a follow up appointment but, because of her ‘chair side manner’ we are both at ease about the upcoming visit. Tafadwza’s nurse/assistant (sorry, didn’t get her name) also made an effort to keep us engaged and made sure the whole situation was lighthearted, without compromising on professionalism.

Positive experience: I would have given it a five as the Receptionist and the new Dentist I saw were Great but because there is no one to treat anyone on the NHS I can't afford to get my tooth replaced and will have to wait until they get someone.Which could be a long wait.
