Positive experience: Staff are all really nice, 15 minutes late though, considering our appointment was at 9.10am , didn’t expect to already be running late. Could do with having a price list in reception, as couldn’t see anything. But just glad to finally have a dentist open again tbh

Fantastic experience: My wife and I are so grateful to be on Damira's bóoks. The receptionists were helpful, polite and very professional. Our Dentist offered a warm welcome to his operating chair! His check up was thorough and we felt he couldn't have been more considerate to our aging Tomb Stones! Fantastic experience: I had some terrible previous experiences with other Dentists but now at Damira I have a totally different view! The staff from reception to dental assistant and dentist are all incredibly friendly, professional and make sure to put me at ease if feeling nervous. Fantastic experience: Edited from 1 STAR to 5 STAR!!! PREVIOUS Dentist was rude, unprofessional and quite frankly BRUTAL with her work, she has probably left to go and work in an abattoir... Dimitrios was 10000% better in every way possible!!! Reception staff were polite, friendly, efficient and professional!! What a complete turn around at this place!!!!

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars oh I would... 9 weeks ago I get call out of the blue asking if id like appointment (original was April 26) yes as I needed bits done .. saw a locum who took my impressions and xray for said work .. got appointment 6 weeks later 2 weeks ago for it to be cancelled the day before... call them they have no receptionist so a hygienist is taking calls has no idea what to do .. then call a call centre who are very in the dark and dont know ther job .. tell them all I want is my new plate fitted and they are neglecting things as gone on to long and refused to let me see anyone else .. have had trouble complaint went unnoticed from practice manager automated reply saying it not looked at daily .. well this is day 15 .. so I have taken the option to report them to the cqc as they have my plate and no one will work there.... I called again yesterday to be called lovely all the time .. I don't think that's very professional do you? So I have now had to make arrangements to go to another damira in fareham further away to deal with a urgent matter.. not in .. let wee what the cqc say about your neglect of care

Negative experience: My appointment was at 9:10 and was seen 35 minutes late. In December 2024 I was advised that I had a problem with my wisdom tooth so would need to have the tooth next to it removed. Made an appointment for January 2025 for the extraction only to be told by a different dentist that they are unable to do extraction at their surgery plus can’t understand why I was told it needs to be done. I have seen another different dentist on the visit this week now being told this could be a potential problem to keep an eye on and that they can do the extraction…. All very confusing when all the dentists giving different advice! Also, this surgery are very unreliable. You may have an appointment booked quite far in advance, you will get text and email confirming the appointment the day before only for it to be cancelled on the day of the appointment.

Negative experience: It has taken a year but I was told that if I was with NHS I would not be seen until January so I had to go private. The appointment was fine however I had to pay for the appointment when I pay them a monthly fee which is ridiculous.

Fantastic experience: Excellent from the first phone call. Had been suffering with toothache all weekend, contacted them for an emergency appointment on Monday morning via their website. Got a phone call back to arrange a same day appointment, the lady who called was lovely, helpful and friendly, as was the receptionist when I got there. I am petrified of dentist after a previous horrible appointment elsewhere but the dentist was great and I felt upon leaving that this would definitely be somewhere I would be happy to come back to.

Negative experience: I sent the following email to the manager and received no reply. I was briefly with Northern Dental before you took over. They cancelled appointments for my wife and myself 3 times. You have cancelled appointments for us 5 times. I can't believe how unprofessional you are. 8 cancellations!! If you do not resolve this today to my complete satisfaction Email me the name and contact details for your ombudsman and I will take this up with them. I rang today to speak to you and was told you are on leave until tomorrow. I was told this last time I said I wanted to speak to you? We are NHS patients and had an appointment for a check up at the beginning of June. When you cancelled I rang you. I said I had lost a white filling or part of a crown. I still have the bit that broke off and am hoping it can be stuck back on. I objected when the receptionist booked us in 7 weeks later but my objection was ignored even though he knew I had lost the filling/crown. Another 7 week wait!!! This is totally absurd and unprofessional.

Negative experience: Had an emergency appointment so had to see the private dentist. An extraction was required but because the private couldn't do it the nhs dentist was called in to finalise. Anyway then I had to pay for a prescription not realising I also had to pay the chemist. I came away with nothing & contacted the practice to which my emails are being ignored. Then to top it off I paid £20 for the prescription only to be told £5 of that was for trays Surely that comes under the treatment plan. Money grabbers all the way & customer service is shocking absolutely awful

Negative experience: Dreadful practice. I paid for a filling which fell out after 4 months. I called to make sure the upcoming check up was changed to allow enough time to redo the filling. When I arrived the dentist knew nothing about it and refused to help unless I paid again. This practice has gone downhill dramatically over the past 5 years. Every time I go there has been a complete turnover of staff from the previous visit. Best avoided

Positive experience: Was a little disappointed there was no nhs emergency appointments and I had to see the independent dentist. The dentist i see was very nice and explained what I needed doing. The cost for the appointment was a lot but it needed the temporary filling untill I see my dentist. I am still in pain though and hoping with the antibiotics it eases of soon as only managed to take 4 doses so far. Staff very friendly though and I am booked in with the NHS dentist for dec. I just hope it eases and don't cause any hassell till then.

Fantastic experience: Had an excellent consultation with Gabriela on Wednesday with my problem five broken teeth. She spent a long time explaining options to me and I came away with hope after a couple of years or so of worry. Found her very thorough and caring. Looking forward to trying out one of her suggestions after Easter. Had an excellent examination by a really kind and friendly dentist on 14/05 /25. Negative experience: Recently joined. Biggest waste of my time ever. Paid 2 lots of consultation and xrays. Now i wanted my xrays to be transferred from fareham to cosham as it should . But you dont get to talk to those clinics directly , you'll be transferred to a call centre which they cant really do anything to help you!!! I wasted a whole week calling them every single days trying to have the bloody xrays to be sent from one clinic to another . How hard could it be?what a messy management !! I totally gave up. !! Never experienced any dental clinics as bad as this whole chain.

Negative experience: I had my first new patient check up yesterday. When I filled out the medical questionnaire online prior to my visit I read that I’d get a 30 minute appointment with X-rays. My check up consisted of dentist looking at my teeth with just a dental mirror. No xrays. No checks on gums. No feeling around the jaw area to detect possible cancers. These are what I’ve had from previous check ups from other dental practices. The dental nurse didn’t complete any medical information regarding the current state of my teeth. As a new patient the dentist has no idea of which type of fillings I have ie root canal any underlying problems that could be seen by an X-ray. In total my appointment lasted no more than 5 minutes!!! I was encouraged to see the hygienist more than once. At a cost of £80.00. When I went to pay the receptionist was out in the back yard area on her phone. I waited about 3 minutes before she realised I was waiting. I paid my £27.40 and left. I haven’t booked any further appointments as I’m not sure if the service you provide warrants the fees charged. I have also taken this issuer up with my local MP.

Negative experience: Keep cancelling appointments as staff have family emergencies or the Dentist to do my appointment isnt available. Once or twice yes but 5 times is ridiculous. I have only ever seen the same dentist once from 8 visits.

Positive experience: A few months ago I left a review as I began a course of treatment at the newly opened Damira dental practice. This treatment was completed last month, but recently I returned as I was experiencing extreme sensitivity/toothache in one of the treated areas, although this was controllable with paracetamol. On this recent visit I spoke to the new receptionist, raising some minor administrative issues and confusion over appointments. She took time to reassure me clearly and efficiently and I thanked her for her patience. I was seen by the dentist quite promptly and, again, my concerns over the sensitive/aching teeth were dealt with clearly and patiently in a caring manner. This being a relatively new practice, there are obviously going to be issues that occur in developing the service. I mentioned that I had seen a different dentist on every visit, which I found a bit unsettling, although thankful that I did at least get to see a dentist, especially after a couple of years of being unable to find an NHS dentist with space. It is hoped that as the practice grows they can secure more permanent dental practitioners. I had also been frustrated at the time it took to get a response on the phone and the failure of the promised 'call back' after leaving messages. I was only successful in getting a response after sending emails. However, the team at Damira have proved to be approachable, caring, friendly and reassuring on each of my vsits. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I have been with this dental practice for many years but they have recently moved over to Damira. Already the dental practice seems more organised. I (like many others) am afraid of dentists. I had my check up last week and what a lovely dentist I had!! So much so I agreed to have my filling replaced as it was chipped.. but as long as I had the same dentist! I came in 3 days later and Charalampos Papantonis (The dentist) greeted me in reception with a big smile. He put me at ease straight away! He has a very kind manor and a great sense of humour. The whole procedure was super easy and I trusted him 100% He spoke to me throughout to keep me informed on what he was doing, and made me laugh during too which was great. Him and his assistant Scarlett were very professional and made the whole experience a good one! Charalampos is only a locum but I would love to see him at the Cosham practice full time. If not, I'll be hunting him down for my next appointment

Fantastic experience: “After a rocky start with my appointments that kept being cancelled I was able to have my filling today. I had my filling appointment with Charalampos Papantonis and his lovely nurse. I forgot her name however it was at an 11:40am appointment on 09/01/25. So hopefully she will be able to get the recognition still! I was very nervous and the dentist and the nurse were really kind and supportive. When having my filling done I began to really freak out and shed a few tears. The nurse offered to hold my hand and the dentist kept asking if I was ok and if he needs to stop for a moment. He then kept making me laugh by talking nonsense (which was so funny) and began singing to me and just being very silly! This then turned my sad tears into happy tears because he was making me laugh. I could not have got through this appointment today without the kindness that the dentist and nurse had shown me! The reasons for me freaking out was not at all because of them. I felt absolutely no pain I just do not like going to the dentist and having and hearing drilling in my mouth. Afterwards as I was so brave the dentist then gave me a sticker! I am 26 years old by the way but I loved it! The dentist and nurse have such a great sense of humour and I'm happy that I left the dental surgery smiling…..and with a filling!”

Negative experience: Not a great service, waited 12 months for an appointment, approaching the appointment multiple reminder emails and sms for appointment , when turn up, there is no appointment. Then get a failed appointment email. So rebook for following day, after again travelling to dentist, 5 mins before appointment they call to cancel because running 1hr and half late, why couldn’t they call sooner if they knew it was that late ??

Fantastic experience: Called in at my local practice, Cosham. Needed an emergency appointment and luckily the receptionist got me in for a check , saw the dentist (lovely lady) and she booked me in for next day, been at this practice many years this is possibly my best experience since the new owner took over. Brilliant team and Dentist.

Negative experience: Today (19th November) I arrived for my first appointment with Damira Cosham. I had booked a family appointment for myself and my two children (aged 3 and 4). Significant inconveniences had to be made to attend this appointment - as I am sure you can understand with two very young children. On arrival, a male receptionist (although friendly enough) informed me that this appointment had been cancelled. I had received no notification of this as I showed him. In fact all I had was a text message confirming the appointment! A second (female) receptionist came to see about this matter. She was very unhelpful and seemed confused about basic text messages and emails . I appreciate it is a new surgery and her training is undoubtedly pending - but as a patient this is not my concern. There were other patients (2) waiting. There was no consideration about whether we could be seen anyway. My younger child, completely understandably, became distressed as she had prepared for a dentist appointment and could not understand.

Negative experience: My partner had a check up here about a month ago and his first appointment under the current owners. He was told he required 6 fillings. Prior to his check up he heard the lady before him be told by the dentist that she needed 8 fillings. So that coupled with his diagnosis made him feel a little suspicious. I’ve been with my own dentist for the last ten years and have had only good experiences with them and managed to get him an appointment for a second opinion. After having that appointment and after a thorough check by my dentist, he was told he didn’t need any fillings and was very surprised that someone else told him that he needed 6. I don’t normally write reviews but I thought that it was worth sharing this experience to make everyone aware of it as dental work can be very expensive!
