South Cliff Dental Group, Westbury

Negative experience: All staff except Charlotte have unfortunately been nothing but patronising and rude to me, even after explaining about my neurodivergence and trauma. I was prescribed a mouth guard. When I turned up to receive my mouth guard, the dentist overshadowing the appointment had a massive go at the dentist prescribing me the guard because it would have done “more damage than good”. I had to sit there awkwardly whilst he shouted at this dentist. After that I have no trust in this practice to actually look after my teeth or go near my mouth. I also came into this dentist with a severe infection in my tooth and the only person who could prescribe antibiotics was not going to be in for weeks and they sent me to 111. My referral for treatment under sedation was left sitting there for months and then they refused to backdate it. They have only increased my dentist anxiety and upset me . They wonder why I don’t turn up for my appointments. I am super grateful/lucky I've now found a wonderful dentist who treats me kindly.

Fantastic experience: A big Thank you to South Cliff Dentist in Westbury . From my first enquiry from Helen on reception I was able to sign on to the NHs dentist . Due to MY dentist in Bath changing to Private I have not seen a dentist for 3 years . Although they are very busy at this time I managed to get an appointment with Fatima (dentist ) and Kerri . Yes I asked all there names so I could post A review I Needed a couple small Fillings which Fatima said she could do them straight away which I jumped at . So thank you all for your great response and also professional manor .

Fantastic experience: I really wanted to highlight how great Fatima and Charlotte were with my teen daughter today. She suffers with health anxiety and gets herself upset before even entering the room. Fatima was so kind and patient. She gave her a lovely pep talk, wiped her tears and adapted her way of working to make my daughter feel comfortable. Charlotte was equally great talking her through things and holding her hand through out reassuring her. That little bit of kindness and understanding will shape how she feels about going for a check up next time. Thankyou so much ladies.

Negative experience: Sadly you have to post one star to be able to review. This dentist is the most horrific practice I’ve ever know. Customer service is appalling. Arrived for my check up to be told they are running 40 minutes late. In that 40 minutes seated in the waiting room, the staff were slagging off a dental client requesting a refund, openly mocking in front of myself and other customers. It gets worse… following my appointment I was told to book in two fillings. I called to book the fillings and was told I already had the fillings and hygiene appointment booked. I explained that this wasn’t the case and nobody had notified me of these bookings and that I wouldn’t have been able to make the appointments in any case due to work. He acknowledged it must have been their own error as at that stage, no deposit had been taken from me which is required when booking fillings. I then arranged a time for my filling, I was charged a deposit of £49 and told I’d receive an automatic confirmation message. Four hours passed and no message was received so I called again to make sure the booking was complete and was reassured by another member of staff that it was booked and I’d receive a confirmation message, nothing came through. Today is the day for my fillings and due to how incredibly rude and disorganised the staff had been this far, I thought I’d better phone ahead before making the journey. I was casually told my appointment was cancelled. I explained nobody had notified me and Helen sharply responded ‘well your number must be wrong then’ to which I explained id received messages of confirmation in previous years and the number is the same. I’ve asked for a refund of my deposit and have been told it will take a month to return my money, yet it took 30 seconds to take the money in the first place. I’ve been promised a call from the Manager Amanda, not that I have any faith in this materialising. Terrible service at every stage. AVOID!!! Update - September the 8th I’ve just been for an examination at The Portway Dentist in Frome. Great communication when booking, proffessional and having studied my X-ray and examining my teeth, they have said I don’t require any fillings, bearing in mind the Westbury dentist told me I needed two immediately with another to follow soon after.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this surgery for the last few years and have found that they are pleasant, professional and advice me on how to keep my teeth and gums healthy. Just what you need from your dentist.

Fantastic experience: I was a patient at this dental clinic today for first time. I came out with my son with a toothache. The lady at the reception called Helen is pure gold, an amazing woman. She didn't ask any unnecessary questions when she heard that my son was in pain, she immediately asked the doctor if he would see us, she was very helpful the whole time. Dr. Danish is a wonderful man. He agreed to see my son right away and helped. Assistant Prince also very helpful, great team really. Both was very nice to my children the whole time so they felt safe, which is important for such young patients. also very important is that you don't have to wait for months to book appointment with the dentist. This place is 10/10 I highly recommend it

Negative experience: I get texted asking how it went when I attended the practice when they are the ones that keep cancelling my appointments less than 24 hours before.

Fantastic experience: First time going back to a dentist after a bad experiences. Danish was absolutely amazing and made me feel at ease after I told him I was petrified of the dentist. He spoke throughout the appointment and telling me what he was doing and how we can get a plan in place for me. The actual practice was very calm to walk into along with the lovely receptionist who spoke to me whilst I was waiting. Highly recommend

A lovely environment, welcoming and understanding of the patients needs. I had a thorough check up, with everything explained to me clearly. Pros and cons given for treatments and then very quickly booked in and referred for additional work. For someone who has hated the dentist for years, I truly am very happy I went again. Your dentist and assistant were amazing, great quality of care and genuine interest in my needs, preferences and wants. I will be continuing to use your services, based on this experience, my whole family are now with you. Highly recommended, 10/10. Wait times for appointments can be a little longer than usual, but… worth the wait!

Fantastic experience: Helen did a fantastic job at rebooking the appointment I had missed the day before for the same day to get my treatment done. The staff at south cliff dentist must be under continuous pressure and phone calls all the time, I am very grateful to be NHS Patient of there's. I also had a previous appointment with a hygiene examination and clean and they did a great job of making my teeth look and feel clean again. Highly recommended and look forward to my next check up in 6 months time. David B

Fantastic experience: Joined with South Cliff a few years ago at Marlborough then after a year or so managed to move to the Westbury clinic. I have a really bad dentist phobia. Hated going ever since being a kid. Will do anything to get out of it. I have to say that both practices are fantastic. The staff from reception to the dentists and assistants are lovely and really helpful and always make me feel at ease (best I can). Best dentist I've ever used and had. Thank you all of you

Fantastic experience: Went to the dentist last week got a appointment within a few days just for a check up, hadn’t been since covid, was with a different practice then, have to say this practice is amazing, Amanda the receptionist was so lovely, she is friendly and very helpful, the dentist is lovely explains everything that is going on and puts you at ease, also saw the hygienist Ameria she is very thorough and explains everything in detail, I would highly recommend this dentist, thank you

Fantastic experience: As a person who has a long standing phobia of the dentist, due two really bad experiences. I have to say that the dental hygienists where EXCELLENT. They were both extremely patient. I would fully recommend them to anyone who like me hates to face the dentist's chair

Negative experience: Asked for a emergency appointment and was seen by a dental therapist who did an x-ray and referred me to see their actual dentist on the 11th. Which would have been a three week wait. Was luckily seen by the dental access centre the next day as I was still in excruciating pain and it was found I had an infection which if left until the 11th could of caused the infection to spread or even turn into sepsis. Emergency appointments should be done by dentists not therapists

Fantastic experience: Fantastic dental practice with super friendly, efficient staff all around. We went as a family and everyone was treated lovely with time and patience given for my children who were a little nervous. I would definitely recommend this dental practice, even the receptionist’s are great and welcoming.

Fantastic experience: I haven’t been to a dentist for over 10+ years and the only reason I came across south cliff was for my 1 year old son and while in there for his first ever appointment I asked if it was at all possible to register and the lovely manager said she would register me which was like music to my ears, the dentist who saw both my son and myself was absolutely lovely and made us both feel at ease I know longer dread the dentist so much so I’m back on Tuesday for a polish and moulding for a night guard! I’d also like to say how lovely the receptionist is with the beautiful blonde curly hair sorry I forgot your name you made me feel completely at ease before going in! Fantastic experience: My dentist is lovely. Very good at what she does. She is certainly help me look after my teeth well. Lots of advice. Had a filling done. Obviously the needle was not my best part. But I didn't feel a thing afterwards. Which to me is great after passed experiences have been really bad. She knows I am a nervous patient. And was fantastic with me. The receptionist are all very nice. The seating area it self is clean. I won't go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: So far I've had one appointment, and my word they're quick. As I said, first appointment and they did an impression to make me a top set of new teeth straight away. After a while with no top teeth, they are a godsend so far. I'll change it to 5 stars if this awesome service carries on. Since I wrote this, I've had nothing but great service every time I use this dentist. And I have upped my star score from 4 to 5 now, as I cannot fault them.

Negative experience: Very unhygienic, waiting room was dirty, cobwebs everywhere. Tools the dentist were using were filthy and definitely not cleaned, the mirror they put into the mouth already had somebody’s previous plac on. Our first time there so will be unregistering.

Negative experience: Disgusting service. Told my husband he had to wait 12 month to have a tooth taken out when he is in absolute agony, so they had to refer him to devizes which could be a 2 month wait. He is NHS bet if he was private he would have got an appointment tomorrow. Had loads of trouble with this practice. A total disgrace Will not be going back would rather pay private at a responsible practice.

Negative experience: Staff were lovely and welcoming , lovely dentist , but my 5 year old daughter has been waiting to have teeth removed for over 6 months now at first appointment 6 months ago she was supposed to of been referred but she wasn't so had to make another appointment and then they sent a referral off then still haven't heard anything back !!

Fantastic experience: Very happy with our experience at the dentist. Been trying to get my 4 year old into a dentist for a while. Managed to get an appointment 1 week from our phonecall. Receptionist was very nice and informative. The dentist herself made my son at ease and we couldn’t be happier with our visit. All round 5⭐️

Fantastic experience: Had a problem with 2 front teeth just days before flying on a 5 year awaited holiday to Crete. Both teeth cracked and then broke leaving very obvious gaps. The wonderful Panagiota fixed me up an emergency appointment and resolved my problem in no time slowing to fly with my smile back in place. Fantastic experience: Check up - fillings - and a check to check the fillings. Expensive but that's the same anywhere. No waiting, appointments to suit my work. No complaints!

Negative experience: The dentists, when you get to see one, seem ok. Although I never seen the same one twice. The organision is appalling, appointments rescheduled at a moment notice. Even missed a day’s work travelling back from the Isle of Wight to be told I didn’t have an appointment, even though they sent me txt reminders.
