Fantastic experience: My partner (Sophie) went to see the Hygienist at Meavy Way. Damian was brilliant! He made the appointment run smoothly and stress free, he also gave her some very good advice, which has been followed up on.

Fantastic experience: Dr Ahmed Youssef is the best dentist I have had in my 48yrs. Takes great pride in his work and provides a great service, the prices are good too.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with this practice. 1 star bad experience since day 1. I won't come back.

Negative experience: The dentist was running approximately 40 minutes late. During this time, I observed another patient being charged £40 for arriving just over 10 minutes late due to her bus being delayed, despite the fact that she had contacted the practice in advance to inform them she would be late. The receptionist appeared unsympathetic and did not acknowledge the patient’s visible distress, even after she explained that she could not afford the charge for circumstances beyond her control. When my 8-month-old was eventually seen, it became apparent that my appointment had been incorrectly recorded, having previously been rearranged due to staff sickness. No apology was offered for this error or for the extended waiting time. This experience highlighted an evident lack of consistency and professionalism.

Fantastic experience: My family and I have been attending Meavy Way Dental Practice for nearly 25 years and cannot recommend the team highly enough. We have always felt safe and secure with the care and treatment. Huge shout out to Joanna who has been our dentist and seen our children become adults! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Pari, the practice manager, is always happy to help and goes out of her way to accommodate joint appointments with the dentist and hygienist whenever possible. Joanne has been my dentist for approximately 15-20 years and her attention to detail and thoroughness are exceptional. I've always been impressed with the team and the standard of care. Negative experience: I use to rate this 5 star 100% but Unfortunately NO NHS now as usual,another money making scheme and dentist,they can see my son on NHS but not adults. Disgusting how all dentists drop NHS patients,where is the money supposed to appear for treatment.

Fantastic experience: Been in absolute agony for couple days with toothache so begrudgingly booked an appointment....was on standby if there were any cancellations and thankfully 1 was available today,19th June...My dentist who I have seen when I've gone in is Nicholas Templer and today he was my saviour....literally pulled the tooth out within 30 secs,clean as a whistle with no pain....absolutely delighted with the treatment I get here...excellent (and thankyou )!!!!

Fantastic experience: Ive not be to the dentist for over 15 years due to total fear of dentist. I registered with meavy away a few months ago and explained my fear. I was seen by the dentist who was so calming and friendly, which made me total at ease. His nurse was just as amazing and making sure I was ok. After 2 sedation sessions all my treatment was completed from crowns, fillings and scale and polish. My teeth look and feel amazing, but the best is I have no fear of going back for a check up. Thank you so much After 45 years of fears of even walking into a dentist this has made me more at ease. Totally recommend

Fantastic experience: Cristina is really good for nervous patients. She nos ive never had an injection. So will try for me not to have one. So far so good. Got an emergeny appointment the same day. Got some antibiotics. Still in pain. But gotta give them time to work. The prices are good for private. Ive had people say to me are you sure you not nhs. No im definetly private.

Fantastic experience: Best dentist practice! Couldn’t recommend enough! From the affordable prices to all the staff my whole experience has been amazing. dentist CHATZIARGYRIOU is a miracle worker. Not only has he changed my whole appearance and confidence with his work he always made me feel at ease, welcome and made sure I understood the whole process. The treatments are affordable, the separate appointments I’ve had for treatments have been within short periods and always worked around me and when I have been available with no trouble! Instead of most dentists trying to get money from patients CHATZIARGYRIOU never done any unnecessary work, he could have charged me for a root canal and instead restored my whole tooth which in the long run saved me money. Unfortunately I did not get his assistants name but she was just as amazing as he! 1000/10 if I could give more stars I would. Thank you so much!!

Negative experience: Came with a wheelchair, the doors were both heavy and open in different directions so VERY different and the receptionist sat watching me no comment no help just a grumpy expression ! fit better doors you are making a small fortune

Negative experience: I’ve never been insulted in all of my life. The reception is saying no to booking me an appointment as my teeth have started to go bad they won’t see me because I haven’t been since 2012 and that doesn’t matter. They say I have to book an appointment through the manager who isn’t even in work I’m upset just because you want new patients you try taking me off the system. I need this sorted please I’m in agony and they don’t care I’m now going to take this further seriously as my carer said that they are not allowed to do this to me by law.

Fantastic experience: I'm a new patient at this practice and I had my first routine appointment with Dr Chatziargyriou. He explained what his findings were and talked through the xrays with me. None of my previous dentists had done this. He was lovely and suggested that I see the hygenist. I was able to get an appointment the following day with Damian. Again he was lovely and very gentle. The reception staff were also very friendly. I've never liked going to the dentist but after coming here, I don't think I'll dread my next appointment!

Fantastic service! Yet again a first class service! Cannot fault the service from this practice in the past and present! Phoned I. The past months and was fitted in the same day for an extraction! The lovely Nicholas Templer and his assistant Freya were pleasant, very reassuring and professional. Thrilled also with all previous treatments!

Negative experience: This is the worst dentist ever... they cancel appointments on the day not even giving you 24hrs notice, also they say they have book you appointments and they haven't. Staff are rude. The owner is definitely pass it and I definitely wouldn't want him doing my teeth. My mum had to have her filling done six time due to the dentist not doing it right.. told other dentist places about meavy way and they agreed too that this dentist is bad.

Fantastic experience: As a very nervous patient I found here two tolerant and understanding doctors. They were helpful and tried to do everything they could in my difficult situation. To be honest I have never deeply compared prices between this practice and other, but on a first glance this practice looks much affordable than what I have seen. I am the returning customer because they became private, and at first, I was a little bit angry on them. They throw me out and left without dental care but it is life and I think we have to blame the government about the NHS.

Fantastic experience: This is a really good dentist, I’ve just become a private patient at Meavy Way after avoiding going to the dentist for 5 years… I’m terrified of dentists and needles, so I was very very nervous about having to go back again. But every aspect of my dentist experience actually couldn’t have gone any better. Obviously going to the dentist is never a pleasant experience but I really felt looked after here and they gave me lots of options to calm my nerves. I had couple extractions and fillings done today and I was so scared but the dentist (Dr Anthanasios Chatziargyriou) and the assisting dentist did a really fantastic job of dealing with a patient as nervous as I am. I’m incredibly grateful for how efficient and quick the procedure was, and even though I was afraid, it was definitely not as bad as i imagined it to be.

Negative experience: Dropped myself and son when we needed appointments due to going private only. We are now both left without a dentist.

Positive experience: It’s a good place to start up with specially when you have moved from a foreign place and have no clue about dental practice in UK. I had severe tooth pain and knew nothing about dentists in UK but then a friend of mine recommended this place. I got my surgical tooth extraction done and everything went smooth. So far it’s been a good friendly and good dentist practice.

Negative experience: Me and my children were taken of the nhs list due to not going in around covid when you couldn't get a appointment and was told we can't go back on as they haven't got a nhs dentist when i reported them to national health England they all of a sudden put my children back on but not me as long as i retracted the complaint.Ive just got of phone to them now as they stated I have a appointment tomorrow when infact its in a couple of weeks (I have the appointment card) and because I can't attend they are charging me £40.My last appointment got cancelled by them at the last minute due to their compressor breaking down funny how they can cancel on me but if I don't turn up to a appointment I don't even have I get fined

Negative experience: Completely rude manager. I had an appointment booked several months ago to see the hygienist and dentist. I specifically asked to have these booked on the same day due to work. Both were booked in but my appointment got cancelled on the day by the dentist. I was absolutely fine with this but said can you rearrange my appointment with the hygienist as I need them both on the same day. I was then told I would have to pay a cancellation fee, even though they were the ones that cancelled my appointment first. I said I wasn’t going to pay the cancellation fee and the receptionist said the manager can discuss this with me via phone call in a couple days. I never received this phone call. A couple months later I booked again but was told I’d have to pay the cancellation fee. Again I said I wasn’t paying it and the receptionist said I can discuss this with the manager via phone call. She said she’ll still keep my appointment booked as the manager will call me. I never received a phone call until the day before my appointment just to confirm it by the receptionist. I said I still haven’t spoke to the manager so am I expected to still pay the fee. She replied saying the manager is sitting right next to her so she’ll pass the phone over. The first words out of her mouth were ‘what do you want’. Not exactly a polite way to talk to a customer, especially from a manager. I tried to explain the situation but was told either pay the fee or find another dentist. I have been here for years and never cancelled an appointment. No customer loyalty and only care about the money.

Fantastic experience: Having had some very 'hit &miss' experiences with dentists in the past, I was very impressed with Nicolas Templer and his assistant. My initial appointment was very thorough - it covered areas that I was told had been sorted but there was always a ? In my mind over them. Fantastic experience: I can not thank Nasos and his nurse Renata enough for the time, patience and care shown to my son during his treatment. My son is autistic and has extreme anxiety levels regarding the dentist. It has taken me 13 years to get him to a point where he would allow a dentist to look in his mouth. Having read Nasos was recommended for highly anxious patients, I booked a consultation. My 14 year old son has had several fillings carried out by Nasos, this has not been easy by any means, however the work has been completed by Nasos with so much care and patience, that my son will not go anywhere else now. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. One very happy mum!

Fantastic experience: Both of us were NHS patients before they went private & so we knew our dentist & staff. Had an infected tooth while we were away from home & lovely Joanne & her colleagues did their utmost to get an antibiotic prescription to me. So glad they were there for me. I had tried my doctor, pharmacies, 111& was wondering what to do. We could have gone to a dentist much nearer home when Meavy Way went private but decided that the staff & dentists were too good to leave for a closer practice.

Negative experience: So I was taken off as an NHS dentist patient at Meavy Way but was told I could still book mouth hygienist appointment. I did this early July and when I arrived today I was told, sorry we don’t have the appointment in the diary. Sorry. The next available date is Monday at 10:30am. I took time off work for this. Just not good enough. I know it’s not a world problem but if these dental practices want to kick us out as NHS patient and not even honouring a private appointment then we are in real trouble. Just my experience and I’m sure others will have a different one

Negative experience: The management of this practice is simply abysmal. It is always utter chaos. I was a patient here until they continually cancelled my appointments and then removed me from the NHS list. The children still attend but every time we have an appointment there is an issue with the time and always delays. Most of the staff are generally helpful and polite but to be honest it is total roulette!

Fantastic experience: I was recommended this dentist surgery and I'm so glad I switched. Even though I'm private the prices are very reasonable compared to other places. The staff are really friendly and Christina is a great dentist, she's so nice and makes you feel relaxed

Negative experience: Would not recommend this dentist, had been going for several years and was due my yearly check up, everytime I tried to book in they never had any space or availability and obviously working full time was tricky which they did not accommodate for. I tried to book in for a yearly check up which was overdue by several months, no fault of my own. Rang up and then was told that they are not longer offering NHS treatments and that if I wanted to stay I would have to pay private, I was disgusted to find this out. I was told that a letter had been sent to me regarding this which was a lie because I hadn't recieved anything. Staff were extremely rude on the phone so if I were to choose to pay private I would not spend it here .

Fantastic experience: 2 days waiting list. 10 minutes and done. What an easy dental surgery to go to and get treated by experts, the dental assistant was great and even the receptionists are top quality professionals. I've received treatment from here before and everything has been quick and efficient every time. I've been all over the world and been seen by many different dentists and this team is head and shoulders above every Dental Practice that I have been to (cheaper too) consistently good. I'm very pleased

Fantastic experience: I Have just joined this practice as my old NHS dentist can no longer do NHS treatment and just to see me would charge £99.00!!! I looked around for a while for a dentist as I know non are now taking on NHS I would have to pay full price for any work and routine appointments. I came across Meavy Way Dental practice and looked at the prices, I was pleasantly surprised with how reasonable they are, especially compared to other dentists around this area so I made an appointment to see what more work my nashers need. I am a very nervous patient, but felt quite relaxed with the dentist as he was very talkative, polite and respectful. He gave my teeth, a full once over, took two x-rays and informed me I just need one filling as it had broke off, and said everything else looks fine at present. I’m sat in the chair and the word x-ray crosses the Dentist lips and I thought I might have a heart attack but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the charges only £7 per x-ray, which is very cheap compared to lots of other dentists. At the end of the checkup he told me my teeth are pretty healthy. I need this special brush to clean up in my gum line better, I was not forced to buy the brush. I was just told that they sold them there, I think they was like £3 so I purchased one from them. I was very happy with the way I was treated, I was spoken to with respect and not look down on like often happens. After my appointment I booked in to have my filling, which is due to be done on Monday. I often get medication from my Doctors help me keep me calm at procedures when at the dentist but the way this appointment went I think I’m going to try the next one without tablets, as I feel confident it will be okay. Parking outside can be a bit of an issue, but I was able to find a space, and in the waiting area, it would be nice if they had more seats without armrests (I have a bug but!!!) but other than that, I cannot fault the place. I have now registered all my children there and my friend and her children have also registered as she attended the appointment with me and was very happy with how my appoint went. I know some people have left reviews on here about not accepting NHS patients, but this is not the dentist fault as the government make it so hard for practices to take NHS patient and it’s not just down to the dentist being greedy. If not enough NHS patients are seen that week the dentist are fined the government are pushing for a end to NHS dentistry, not the dentist them selfs. I think this practice is the only one that is actually helping people by charging a reasonable amount instead of over the odds. Thank you I am so grateful as my worst anxiety fear is losing my teeth, but I feel confident now that I may keep mine for a little longer.

Very rude , obnoxious manager, and supporting staff, treats nhs patients as second class citizens. I concur with most of the negative comments about this practice, all they see is the dollars signs.

Negative experience: An absolute disgrace. I was a nhs patient at this practice for many years. They used COVID as an excuse to stop ongoing nhs appointments and treatment and I kept calling for 2 years for a check up, (as and when I was instructed by receptionist by each phone call I xalled back in attempts to get an appointment) On or around April 2023 I received a letter informing me that they were no longer treating NHS Patients and that basically unless I stayed with them 'privately' which I can ill afford then I will not be treated and will be taken off their list. They simply dumped perhaps hundreds of patients and left them out to dry with no chance of getting an nhs dentist again. The Government should Legislate and make ALL DENTISTS take on NHS patients who are suffering.

Negative experience: This is the worst dental clinic I've ever seen, the organization is a total failure, to make an appointment you have to pay £38 deposit and if you want to rebook the deposit is forfeited but they can change your appointment whenever they want, even an hour before your visit to the dentist, the only small plus is the Polish dentist , woman . I do not recommend, if you already have dentists, do not change, and if you want to change, be sure that you will not choose this clinic

Fantastic experience: Isn't is strange that the owner only seems to answer 5 star ratings. That is why I placed this as 5* so the owner would see it. Please answer my email and please answer the phone call. I am trying to get my 11 year son seen as last time the dentist mentioned he may need teeth removed.....if you would just see my son and refer him to the orthodontics at Derriford it would be appreciated.

However management atrocious extremely rude confrontational and quite abusive, failing to keep to appointments due to the nature of my work, but of course paying the 50 pounds fine alls well surely? Not as if there are a lack of customers/ emergencies/ and people in diar need of cancelled appointments that they can be free from pain. Unfortunately this is a major issue to management. Having had customer services agree to me paying the cancellation fine and moving my scheduled appointment bearing in mind I've paid over 989 pounds to date for treatment. Only to be called while at work by manager who did not introduce herself instead shouting at me down the phone that they will no longer treat me. Unbelievable! Get some manners and treat paying customers with respect . Shocking conduct.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a patient at Meavy away for a (very!) long time and absolutely love how accommodating the team are. Both my son and I love the service we get. Dr Mikus is wonderful, and my recent surgery with Dr Chatziargyriou was pain-free and expertly done. The front of house staff are always very helpful, and the manager Mrs Smith is wonderful and supportive. Would recommend Meavy Way highly to all.

Fantastic experience: Having been 'taken off the list' at my former Dental practice due to the fact I hadn't attended since before Covid. Meavy Way practice was recommended to me, I rang and registered on Tuesday, given an appointment for today which I attended, and saw Dr Joanna Mikus and her nurse, I found both very pleasant and caring. Receptionists both very helpful and the charges very reasonable. Overall I'm very happy with the practice.
