Beechwood Dental Practice

Fantastic experience: Yesterday Monday 24th November 2025 I visited, for the first time, Beechwood Dental surgery in need of a replacement filling. By the afternoon I was inverted and receiving proficient replacement of said filling and being talked through the procedure as it progressed. In the evening I put the new filling through its paces with pizza, red wine and tooth brushing. All is well. Thus, it is a pleasure to thank them and to recommend them for their proficient, effective and friendly service.

Fantastic experience: I joined Beechwood this year and they have been incredible. All of the dentists are extremely knowledgeable and genuinely care about you. The staff are all extremely friendly, make you feel comfortable and all treatment I've had from fillings to hygienist appointments have been exceptional. Would highly recommend the Hygienist in particular. The whole team are a pleasure to interact with, and I really appreciate everything they've done to support me over the past year.

Fantastic experience: I called for an emergency appointment and they went out of their way to fit me in the same day which was much appreciated. All the staff that I encountered were very friendly and welcoming and Dr Mihaescu was excellent, non judgemental, very calm and reassuring and also did a fantastic job. As someone who had not been to a Dentist in a long time, I left very impressed. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Everything is lovely and unhurried, you have time to ask questions and receive advice. Tess and Naz were so friendly and chatty for the hygiene visit, and then Dr Sorinela is such an oasis of calm for the dental checkup! Everything is very gentle and nice.

Fantastic experience: My daughter needed a new retainer after she had a tooth bridge placed in to prevent teeth from moving. As i couldn’t get emergency appointment on NHS the Beechwood dental practice was happy to make one for her urgently within 24h as they understood how important it is to get it done asap. The retainer was made of high quality material and perfectly shaped. Fits perfectly and looks beautiful. Only slightly more expensive than the NHS one and was definitly worth the price. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a professional friendly practice that offers high quality products and services.

Negative experience: Not recommended. Paid deposit for hygiene appointment 6 months ago. Turned up for my appointment on 26 August 40 minutes early. When appointment time passed. Nothing happened. All the staff busy chatting. So I walked out and lost the deposit money they took off me 6 months earlier. They wasted my time. Then I received a call from the owner who is unprofessional and rude and has a bad attitude. Instead of apologising, he was trying to blame me!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: I went to Beechwood Dental Practice yesterday with a lot of pain, and Dr. Sorinela saw me very quickly. She was so professional, kind, and reassuring, and the treatment was excellent. In just one day I’m feeling so much better and back to normal. Thank you, Dr. Sorinela — highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I've never been a fan of dentists due to past negative experiences. I changed to Beechwood from my previous dentist. Had my new patient check up and hygiene appointment today. I am so glad I did my research. They were amazing! Put 'a very nervous patient' at ease. Thorough in my appointments. Proactive in addressing the treatment that I knew I needed. Fantastic experience: Had a broken tooth unable to book a dentist gave Beechwood a call they gave me an appointment which I attended Tuesday was told I need my wisdom tooth removed give and today Thursday. Tooth has been removed and wasn’t too uncomfortable will definitely attend them again and will be registering with them soon.

Fantastic experience: I can admit that I was very scared to go to the dentist and I can confirm that I’ve been using Dr Mihaescu for the past 3 or 4 year and any problems I had I’ve been going back to her very confident because I know she will always be nice to me and helped me to feel comfortable by being there , even the receptionist are brilliant and helpful, I really recommend going to Beechwood Dental.

Fantastic experience: I have just signed up to their dental plan and had my first consultation. They are super helpful and friendly - I came in to sign up for the plan and they were able to fit me in to have my consultation on the same day! The consult room was very clean and modern and all of the staff were really nice - especially John and Millie who helped me join today. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Sparkly Smiles Every Time! Beechwood Dental Practice in Bournemouth is my go-to for keeping my teeth fresh and clean — their dental hygienist services are second to none! The team is always super professional and warm. Every visit leaves me smiling — literally. If I could wish for one thing, it would be the option for a late evening slot, maybe once a week or once every fortnight until 7pm? That would be a game-changer for us office workers. Still, all-round 5-star service. Highly recommended!

Negative experience: This dentist is terrible!!! Myself, my husband and son have all used this dentist over the past few years and never missed an appointment. This morning my son woke up with a temperature of over 38.5 degrees and in severe pain in his head. I phoned at 8.30 to explain and was told the policy is to charge you regardless of illness, if you dont make the appointment. I understand this if someone just doesnt turn up, but when someone genuinly calls over a genuine illness this cant be legal. Dispite my son potentially having covid I was told that he should attend anyway, I am shocked that even after questioning this I was told there are no guidlines for covid anymore and he can attend. What if he was sat in the waiting room next to a vanuerable person! I am shocked and horrified I run a hair salon, if someone tells me they are sick or have covid I would ask them to stay home as I wouldnt want to risk the health of my other clients or staff! The fee is £30 which isnt the point, I am so shocked that a professional practice would put this fee above its clients health. None of us will be returning to this practice as I would no longer feel safe given this policy.

Fantastic experience: I have only had my first consultation so far but I was really impressed with all the staff at Beechwood, Sorinela was amazing really friendly, and explained everything in a calm and reassuring way. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

Negative experience: I arrived for my appointment on time, however then had to wait twenty minutes until I was seen. Fine, if you are an NHS patient, not so fine when you pay £75 for the privilege and have work to get back to. But The whole place feels like an old NHS dental practice. It is tatty with a dark reception area and dark WC. The clinical room where I had a check up felt dated and oppressive. I do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: Miss Shah and her lovely assistant were very gentle and reassuring. They helped me to relax when I am very anxious at the dentist. Highly recommended. I would like to update this review to add that I saw Dr Mihaescu yesterday 5/3/25 at very short notice due to fears about my inflamed gums. There was another lovely welcoming receptionist at the desk and the dentist was fantastic. Such a thorough examination with x-rays discussed in detail, listened to all my fears, reassured me, was gentle and educated me on my teeth and gum health. This is a wonderful practice which I highly recommend.

Negative experience: Very dishonest!!! They charged me for a 15 seconds visit and I didn't have the X-ray...I went to Romania to do my replace and I was happy

Negative experience: Went awhile ago. Spent 75quid to have a ten minute chat with the dentist and ended up doing nothing for my problem… nothing…

Fantastic experience: My experience was far better than I could have expected or imagined it might be when I (unannounced and unknown to the practice) turned up at the surgery this morning. In pain from a broken premolar, I was promptly welcomed, with warmth and efficiency, and registered as a new patient. Minutes later, I was in the dentist's chair. She (Katherine) dealt with the problem immediately, with consummate surgical skill and a manner that inspired my full trust. I'm delighted to have found you. After being told by a previous dentist I would have to wait 2 weeks for a tooth to be extracted, Beachwood had it out in 15 minutes. Very efficient and honest. Negative experience: Terrible experience, I just had an emergency dental appointment as I am in excruciating pain with an ongoing toothache. Upon confirming to the dentist which tooth is hurting, she proceeded to take the thick end of one of her metal tools and smack it against said tooth and the one next to it, making me cry out in pain. She then confirmed she’d give me antibiotics as she took an X-ray and said couldn’t tell which tooth was the problem as there was a pocket in the gums between the two and then took the tool and smacked them both again! Since leaving the practice 15 mins ago, the roof of my mouth has become so swollen and sore on that side and my toothache is much worse than when I went in. Avoid if you like your dentist to have a gentle and caring approach. Receptionist was lovely though!

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to this dentist since I was a toddler. However since Covid I kept putting off booking. I eventually made a routine appointment & one 4 weeks after for the hygienist. I needn’t have worried. It has changed hands since I last came and the new husband & wife team, along with their staff are amazing. So helpful and actually taking the time to chat. I have a low pain threshold & Miral Shah took the time to clean my teeth without any discomfort at all. I shall definitely make sure that I don’t miss another appt again. They explained the benefits of the Beechwood Dental Membership Plans which offer discounts & help spread the costs of routine care.

Negative experience: On the of April 2024 I requested an appointment to replace a filling in my tooth. The dentist suggested that she would do a "temporary " filliling and I had to come back for a big filling . Following the dentist recommendation, I arranged another appointment to remove the "temporary" filling for a big permanent filling . After paying almost £300 for the filling , a month and half later , the filling has almost vanished and waiting to be assessed by other dentist to sort out this mess !!!

Both dentists I’ve tried so far were very informative about what I needed done, how to prevent cavities and gum sensitivity. Prices are also very fair. The hygienist was also good. Even taken out/covering the old metallic filling with an enamel one so the tooth looks better than it was. Very happy

Negative experience: The dentist I've seen was OK so far with the actual procedure. I was charged £65 for "New patient health check", however I also been charged for "Emergency appointment Non -registered patients" £75 in the same time for a 5 minute job that required just a temp filling, and a referral to root specialist. Once this was done she said we're done for today. What about the New patient health check which I payed for? I had to ask to actually have it done... Customer service was ok except the experience with Heidi.

Fantastic experience: As a guy who suffers with some anxiety visiting the dentist I have to say I was made to feel so at ease from the minute I went in to the surgery. Seen the same day that I called which was important to me as I was in quite some pain. They took time to listen to my issues and then went on to carry out some temporary work on my tooth, provided me with a prescription for antibiotics and an appointment for a weeks time. My pain was gone almost instantly and now the next day feels normal. Im actually looking forward to going back?(not something I thought I’d ever say about the dentist) Thank you to everyone there that helped me. I CANT RECOMMEND THESE GUYS ENOUGH!
