During my initial check-up, they were so kind and supportive, taking the time to listen and help me with all the issues I had. I later had a difficult tooth extraction, and they handled it with such skill and care that I felt reassured throughout the whole process. The nurse was also incredibly helpful and attentive, making sure I was comfortable. The aftercare I received following the extraction was excellent, and they provided clear guidance for recovery. I’ve been to the practice multiple times now, and every visit has been a positive experience. The whole team is professional, caring, and genuinely focused on patient well-being. Highly recommended!
Fantastic experience: After my dentist of 30 odd years dumped nhs patients I looked for a new local dentist and found south cliff at steyning. Very welcoming, quick appointments and open 7 days a week. Great staff and they even do conscious sedation for tooth extraction. Very happy
Fantastic experience: As someone who is extremely anxious about visiting the dentist, I have to say a huge thank you to Shen and his nurse. He was very reassuring and explained everything to me as he treated me. He was was very gentle but thorough. Next visit I will be anxious but not as i have been in the passed hopefully. Negative experience: Not to be trusted with my mouth! A pretty rough examination by someone who was not a qualified dentist “but did fillings”! More interested in quoting for the cost of needed treatment than any kind of real dental care. Taking NHS patients, but told on first visit that they had exceeded their allocation and was asked to sign separate paperwork. All rather odd! No dentist currently on site? (May have changed as a couple of months ago). I won’t be finding out!
Positive experience: This clinic is new for us. We use to live in London , and have NHS dentist there. This Clinic isn't bad but different than the other one. We use to be treated by a dentist in London, here it's a dental therapist. Shin is a good professional , dentist in India, did what we need, but is not a dentist here. Therefore, the way of work it's slightly different. Normally dentists pass floss after filling, he didn't. And it was hard to be done by me after the procedure. The other person who helped him is learning , and forgetting basic things like, give you water to washing your mouth after the procedure. Prices also are different, Band B included hygiene in London. Here, they sell it out of NHS, and are quite insistent to commerce that. I am grateful for what have been done to us, it works well but it is always a room for improvement. Thanks to all

Negative experience: Disgusting place! Cannot get any sort of care required! Just dead set on selling hygienists packages, had 2 referrals here now, first one I had to chase after a month and a half… second one I’m still waiting on, been a month already now, was told 2 weeks AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR DENTAL HEALTH

Negative experience: PLEASE BEWARE: It is not clearly stated when you make an appointment (verbally or otherwise) that you will more likely be treated by DENTAL THERAPISTS and NOT a DENTIST. I believe there should be far more transparency regarding this basic fact so that you as a patient you can make an informed decision. We originally joined this practice because they were taking on NHS patients. I now believe there is a very good reason that this is one of the few dental practices that always are. Our recent experience (April 2025): Following a routine checkup my 16 year old son required a filling in one of his molars which was carried out by a DENTAL THERAPIST (I have since found out) on the same day and in the same short check-up appointment slot. Afterwards as we left the building my son mentioned to me that he might need to return in a couple of days to have it redone. As his mother attending the appointment with him nothing had been mentioned to me. My son explained that he would need to return because they had removed too much of the filling when shaping because when asked if it was ‘too high?’ (is this even correct dental terminology?) he had said yes but that he couldn’t feel his mouth properly because of the injection, the first one he had experienced. He proceeded to show me his filling and it was immediately obvious the filling was not correct. We returned upstairs so I could ask what had happened, see if they could address the issue now whilst his mouth was numb and enquire as to why I was not kept informed. I was told the following: 1: that the filling had been ground down too much because of my son replying ‘yes’ to the question ‘Too high?’ 2: that he did not have time to correct the filling that day and to return in two days if needed due to the sensitivity and 3: that he hadn’t mentioned anything to myself because of my son being an adult (over 16yrs of age, only just), despite the fact I had driven him to the appointment and was waiting in the reception area. We left and I immediately asked friends/neighbours for dental practice recommendations in order to correct the workmanship. My son has now been seen by a superb DENTIST and had the following corrected: 1: removal of excess filling between the filled tooth and adjacent one 2: decay cleaned out that had not been properly removed which remained 3: filling replaced By way of coincidence when relating my son’s recent bad experience to a work colleague, another work colleague overheard and asked if I was taking about this particular practice because she too had recently left them following a bad experience by her family. I have written this review because of the shortcomings of professional courtesy and service and because I believe there should be far more transparency about who is treating you here. If you then subsequently elect to be treated by a Dental Therapist you should realise that that is not the same as a being treated by a Dentist.
Negative experience: Very disappointed with this dentist. They have told me they will give me £100 back for failing to take my tooth out(I paid £210), this was in October. I still didn't receive my £100 back and when I'm sending emails they don't respond, when I'm calling they are promising someone with call back. So fed up with this very poor service. Update: After another month I am still waiting for my money. I called the practice again today and no manager or anybody in charge to talk to. Appalling service!!!

Fantastic experience: I had a tooth extraction on Friday under sedation i was very nervous and anxious. I honestly cannot thank the amazing team at South Cliff Dental. I was made to feel very at ease in a calm professional environment, the whole team are amazing. Thanks to the wonderful dental surgeoen who removed my tooth. Absolutely would reccomend this place. (Ps my tooth is healing lovely).

Fantastic experience: I have been taking my daughter here for about a year now and the dentist is absolutely amazing! My not so little one is scared of the dentist and hates needles! Today she had to have a filling and the dentist put her at ease and in the end she left smiling with no pain and in her words "he is very kind! And looked after me really well" thank you for putting her at ease. We can't fault you at all!
Negative experience: Total waste of time I had a check up 6 weeks ago and was told I needed a filling, chased up today and they had no intention of following up from the check up to have the work completed. More intent on selling hygienist appointments than anything else. Now I’ll consult a proper dentist to get the work done
Negative experience: Disappointing Experience and Poor Customer Service - Avoid this Practoce I have been a patient at other South Cliff practices for most of my life and have never had any issues. We decided to move to this location due to its convenience, but unfortunately, the experience has been deeply disappointing. My hygienist appointment at this practice left me in pain and with prolonged sensitivity - something I have never encountered before. Additionally, I purchased a package of four hygienist appointments but only used two. Despite multiple attempts to request a refund for the unused appointments, I have received no response from the practice. This level of care and lack of accountability is unacceptable. I would strongly advise others to avoid this location and seek care elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely Stellar Experience at Steyning Dental! I've always had a bit of anxiety when it comes to dental appointments. However, my recent experience at Steyning Dental was nothing short of exceptional. Jizmy, my dentist, was incredibly patient, understanding, and reassuring from the moment I walked in. I had four fillings to do, and I was honestly quite nervous. But Jizmy took the time to explain the procedure, answer all my questions, and make me feel completely at ease. Their calm demeanor and gentle approach put me immediately at ease. The procedure itself was painless and efficient. Jizmy's skill and expertise were evident, and I felt completely safe and comfortable throughout the entire appointment. I left the office feeling not only relieved but also incredibly happy with the results. I cannot recommend Steyning Dental enough. If you're looking for a dentist who truly cares about their patients and provides exceptional care, look no further. Jizmy is a star!
Negative experience: NEVER HAVE I EVER HAD TO LEAVE A REVIEW TILL NOW....... My mrs had a terrible experience here, reception lady was very rude the dentist himself was rude to his assistant and my mrs. just be proffesional if you cannot deal with patient then dont bother working in the industry.

Fantastic experience: Firstly - the loveliest and kindest reception staff. nothing is too much bother and they are very friendly. Secondly, the dentist is fantastic. He is extremely gentle, focused on you as a patient and extremely caring. A really amazing dental practice.

Fantastic experience: Ab fab dentists Reception staff are kind, courteous and knowledgeable. Dentist Dr Kalsi is a magician he has fixed my oral health and advised how I can improve it too. I am a nervous patient but he tells me everything he does and is very kind. Fabulous no fuss superb team, love them all at this dentist
Positive experience: Been attending the dentist for a couple of years now, over the last year there has been some positive changes. The reception staff are so lovely now, today the lady was so helpful and friendly. She helped me book a course of treatment and all our next checkups at a time that was convenient to me around work. The dentist was patient and understanding of a nervous teenager and chased a referral we have waited over a year for, to the point they called me whilst I was in the waiting room to book my son in. The only reason it’s not a five star is because, with all due respect, it’s not my favourite place for a family day trip :)

Fantastic experience: I have been visiting Steyning Dental Clinic for some time now and have always been pleased with their service. The reception team are polite friendly and efficient and the dentist is efficient kind and caring as is his assistant. I recently had to have a front tooth removed and was requiring a denture. I had a few questions which were answered speedily. The finished denture was fitted and I am very pleased with the result and also grateful for the speed with which the lab technicians were able to produce it. Thank you to them all.
Positive experience: Been three times new receptionist is great the only thing I will add is appointments run 30 mins late on average. Does not matter time of day It seems just for routine check-ups. I deleted my comments on the rude receptionist looks like they are gone.
Negative experience: Hugely unprofessional. Cancelled appointment due to ill health with plenty of notice and the practice has removed me from there list. Receptionists where pretty rude and very uninformative. Edit I called and cancelled 2 appointments leaving messages on your answer machine both times. This is an error by yourselves not me.

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately we do have a policy where if you fail to attend two appointments without giving us notice we will no longer be able to see you under the NHS. Non-attendance is surgery time lost. You are however able to been seen on a private basis at the practice.

Fantastic experience: It is so rare to find an NHS dentist, but to find one that is friendly, approachable and professional is a true rarity. The prices are fair, transparent and reasonable, and we’ve been seen and had appropriate treatments all within a few weeks. We are so lucky to find South Cliff Dental Group and hope they stay around for a long time!
Negative experience: LONG WAIT FOR REFUND: I was due a refund from the dental practice of £260 on 8th July because I decided to have my fillings done under the NHS and the practice requires all payments at the time of booking. I finally received the refund I was due on 23rd August, six weeks later, and only after repeatedly getting the practice manager to chase it up with the head office and writing a complaint letter. I found the practice staff very helpful and the dental treatment excellent but their head office refunds procedure is terrible.
Negative experience: My wife had a temporary filling nearly two years ago while she waits for an appointment to have a more permanent one. I've been waiting over a year for an appointment for a filling fell out, and I still have a hole. This was a very good practice when we first registered, but now it's gone like all other NHS dentists.
Negative experience: Ended up having poisonous infection and hospitalised for a surgery procedure in hospital under general Anaesthetic .
Negative experience: They seem to have a new receptionist who is very inconsiderate and awfully sharp and degrading to customers I and a few other have had to experience her. Such a shame as the previous receptionist really made the whole place shine, with a wonderful warm and caring vibe and the new dentist is really fantastic.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service on my brother who has Parkinson’s and who can become very anxious at times. We can’t fault the service, care and attention that we’ve received from Mr Kalsi and his team throughout my brother’s course of treatment. I would recommend highly!

Negative experience: We registered as new patients with this practice in June 2022 and were told that we would have to pay for our NHS check up in advance, I have never come across this before. We duly paid the requested £71.40 in advance. In December they told us that the dentist was not taking any new patients. So, did we get a refund you ask? No! It is now the end of February and we are still battling to get a refund. They seem intent on hanging onto our money which is incredibly unprofessional to say the least! I do hope they have put our money into an interest earning account as under Law Society rules that is what they should do when holding funds! Maybe this will prompt a settlement!!

They have always called me back and have done their upmost to assist with appointments. I have been dealing with Lydia currently and she has been just lovely every time I have spoken with her, she has gone out of her way to help me and I really do appreciate all she has done. I know the practice has had staffing issues but it is a difficult time, they currently have a dentist in situ and he was very calm, professional and a gentleman. Also dentist was reluctant to do a "brief" clean of my teeth until I suggested it was part of the check up procedure. Reception tell me they are operating on temporary staff. Must do better!

Fantastic experience: I had an issue with my crown falling off (work done by a different practice) I rang on the Monday, had an appointment by Friday morning and it was recemented there and then. The Dentist was very friendly, put me at my ease, very knowledgeable and did a fantastic job with my fitting. The information verbally received for after care was very helpful.
