All staff very approachable and professional. Couldn't find a way to register on NHS locally so went private, while it cost more which was tricky, they were efficient and well worth the money and now I feel I'm in safe hands.

Negative experience: I don’t usually write reviews, but this place was so bad I feel people need to be warned. I booked a check-up here because it’s local, and honestly, I regret even walking through the door. The moment I entered, the smell hit me — a horrible, dirty, stale odor that made me instantly uncomfortable. The receptionist clearly saw me walk in but decided scrolling on her phone was more important than acknowledging me. When she finally bothered to check me in, I was made to wait over 40 minutes, even though I’d arrived 10 minutes early. When I eventually got called in, the dentist was great but that’s about the only positive thing I can say. The dentist couldn’t even carry out a basic check-up because the practice didn’t have the correct equipment — other staff kept walking in mid-appointment asking to borrow tools. How does a dental practice not have the basic tools to do their job? It was beyond unprofessional. The state of the place was disgusting. Filthy surfaces, an overall grimy feel — I’ve genuinely seen cleaner vets and public toilets. And despite not even getting a proper check-up because of their lack of equipment, I was still charged for a full appointment. To top it all off, I used the toilet before leaving and nearly gagged — urine on the floor, overflowing bin, and a stench so bad I could barely breathe. It was absolutely vile. The staff seemed to be trying their best, but the owner or whoever runs this place should be ashamed. The lack of hygiene, organization, and professionalism is shocking. I honestly don’t understand how the CQC hasn’t shut this place down yet. Avoid this place at all costs. It’s dirty, disorganized, and downright unhygienic. I wouldn’t even go back if it were free. I have also added proof of payment which clearly shows that I was at Tarring Dental practice. just goes to show how the owner LIES! I’m not sure whose names and businesses you believe you are disclosing or associating me with, but your response clearly demonstrates a lack of professionalism. Sharing names and details of individuals and companies publicly is a clear breach of GDPR and completely inappropriate — especially for a healthcare provider. I have already contacted the GDC and CQC, as they take such matters very seriously. If you are unable to manage a business professionally and uphold basic data protection and hygiene standards, you should not be responsible for patient care. The state of your practice poses a genuine risk of infection and harm to the public.

Negative experience: Not sure if these guys have paid for reviews or incentivised people to leave them but all the 5 star reviews say ‘friendly staff’ which isn’t really the important thing with a dentist. I actually will agree the staff are friendly and for that reason I’ve given 2 stars not 1. The place seems fairly clean and hygienic, the hygienist was genuine, transparent and didn’t try to upsell repeat visits (I actually like to visit every 3 months but she said 6 months works well). That’s the good stuff out the way. I had 2 fillings carried out at Tarring Dental in July and they were the first 2 fillings I ever had. I visited another dentist before TD but I was abroad and I decided I would go to TD (local) to have the work done as it seemed clean and also the reviews on Google were great! I was told by my previous dentist that I need 2 fillings 1 of which was minor (I have check ups every 6 months). TD x rayed and confirmed the same. After 4 weeks of having the fillings I was still in a lot of pain, I revisited twice for the pain and was told I needed to use Sensondyne toothpaste. At no point did they reexamine or x ray. Long story short, I visited another dentist as the pain was overwhelming and it turns out I needed 2 root canals because both fillings that were inserted were both touching the nerves of the teeth. This was clear from the new x rays. It’s impossible to say whether 1 tooth needed this before the filling, but 1 tooth definitely did not need root canal treatment. The follow up process also meant I was in pain for 6 weeks which could have easily been avoided with a simple x ray when I revisited. I think for a hygienist appointment this place might do the job but I would not recommend going here for more invasive treatment like fillings or for dentistry.

Fantastic experience: I am delighted to spread the word about Tarring Dental. I have been attending this dentist for over 40 years and today their service was outstading. Over the weekend part of my front tooth broke away and I was utterley horrified as I had outings and meetups in my diary. I rang first thing on Monday and was given an appointment that same day. Dr Janani Jegatheesvatan completely repaired and made good resulting with my front teeth looking better than before the break so I could smile agsin with confidence. She is very professional and highly efficient and I would recomend this practise to friends and family. THANK YOU.

Fantastic experience: Walking into a root canal, I thought I’d be “about to have a breakdown” (thank you, Kyle Richards). But Dr. Raj turned it into a total glow-up moment. From the start, Raj had me calm, cool, and collected. He explained everything with such clarity that I was like, “Who gonna check me, boo?” (okay, technically Atlanta, but iconic energy). Honestly, the whole vibe was very “Chic, c’est la vie” — painless, smooth, and dare I say… fabulous. During the procedure, I kept waiting for the drama, but nope. Raj was precise, gentle, and I felt “this is not my first rodeo” (Lisa Vanderpump voice). It was over before I knew it, and I didn’t even need to clutch my pearls. The aftercare? Perfect. Raj gave me clear instructions and made sure I was comfortable, proving once again that “in Beverly Hills, the truth always rises to the top” — and the truth is, he’s the best. If you’re dreading a root canal, take it from me: “You can never be too rich, too thin, or have too good of a dentist.” Highly recommend Dr. Raj!

Fantastic experience: I had quite a large filling that needed replacing, this was understandably awkward as it was at the top back right. Although the procedure was not particularly pleasant, having to keep mouth wide open throughout, I was asked several times if I was alright and given a chance to have a break during the treatment. I am very happy with the result as it all feels very smooth, with no uncomfortable edges or raised area.

Negative experience: I had a dual appointment, first with the hygienist, then with the dentist. The experience with the hygienist was an unusually uncomfortable one. Plaque removal, prior to cleaning, involved the use of an ultrasonic device and a dry suction tube. The tube deposited in the left hand side of my mouth was uncomfortable and may well have contributed to the damaged blood vessels the dentist identified when I saw her afterwards. Previous hygiene practices of hand scaling, then pause for spitting out any debris would have been my preferred treatment. My encounter with the dentist was first rate - very thorough and authoratative interventions and advice.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend this clinic. Receptionist is welcoming, friendly and very helpful to book an extended appointment with in a couple days for the hygienist. Nani was great she was very thorough with her work, caring about her patients mouth and hygiene as well as informative to guide me on how to provide the best care for my teeth and gums. She was friendly and continued a conversation not like the usual awkward silence most are probably use to. Fair and competitive prices offered by the clinic too!

Silvia has excellent training which makes a huge difference in her approach to treatments, and Gemma is a fantastic well-experienced hygienist. With my various implants and other dental issues which come with a certain age, I could not ask for more.

Negative experience: Had a tooth extraction at Tarring Dental and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had The dentist (after 25 minutes of pulling) managed to leave 3 pieces of incredibly sharp, incredibly painful bone fragments in the wound. I went back in 2 weeks later as knew something wasn’t right, and was told it was dry socket and that I hadn’t followed the guidelines of aftercare properly (I had). The wound was cleaned with penicillin, but I wasn’t asked if I was allergic to penicillin until she had already used it (incredibly dangerous) I was told the wound was now fine and would start healing, over the next 6 weeks I was in incredible pain, and eventually noticed sone sharp bits in my gum. I proceeded to pull out 3 huge pieces of sharp bone fragments which caused severe pain I filed a complaint with the surgery and asked for a refund but it was refused. Avoid at all costs Edit - wow and now a reply full of complete fabrication! Please don’t trust the response below, I was asked numerous times if I was allergic to penicillin, after it was placed in my socket, and the dentist had a worried face on I also didn’t have dry socket, another lie, I followed the guidelines completely The reason I didn’t get in contact with you again is because I was told the wound was now ok and it would take time to heal Also I’m happy to upload the pictures of what I pulled from my gums even though you apparently ‘couldn’t see anything else in the socket and were happy’ Outrageous response
