Negative experience: Partner registered to this dentist! The dentist he see was amazing and was able to tell him the issue and give him medication to help with pain and discomfort! HOWEVER, this place is horrible, my partner was on his way to confirm registration, but due to multiple issues was going to be late.. the are now refusing to see him and told him he’s never even allowed to redo his registration and will never be a patient there! This is absolutely disgusting! Things happen and he’s a father of a little boy with a heart defect! His tooth needs to be surgically removed but without being registered at a dentist.. it’s near enough impossible! Disgusting! Not impressed at all!

The reception staff were genuinely on the ball, organised and efficient, and communicated clearly throughout every part of the process, from bookings to follow-ups. It made everything smooth and stress-free. I was first seen by Morwenna during an emergency appointment, and she was fantastic. She quickly identified that I needed a root canal and referred me to Omar. Omar was exceptional. He is clearly highly trained, very knowledgeable and, in my view, undoubtedly on course to become an award-winning dentist. Throughout the procedure he combined professionalism, empathy and a personable manner, explaining everything thoroughly and ensuring I felt at ease throughout. I am extremely impressed and very appreciative of the care I received. A strong recommendation for Charlton Dentist Practice, with particular thanks to Omar for his outstanding work.

Fantastic experience: Came in today through 111 after being in severe pain all night and waking up with a swollen face. Even though the practice was really busy, the team looked after me so well from the moment I arrived. The dentist was very kind, explained everything clearly, and gave me helpful advice. I felt genuinely cared for throughout. I’m very grateful for the treatment I received today and would definitely recommend this practice.

Negative experience: I came via 111 NHS urgent dental care referral and I was very disappointed. I presented with a bad infection (probably to the root of one of the tooth), facial swelling and pain. They saw me for 5 minutes top, I explained that I was an NHS radiologist and they didn’t even saw me properly the X-Ray (I strongly suspect they missed the area but instead of repeating it just she ignored me). Dismissed with some antibiotics and I was told that I need to go private for the rest of the treatment (which is incorrect because NHS provide also for surgery). It is a shame NHS relies on such practices for the citizens .

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency appointment via the NHS here and I had a brilliant experience - the dentist who saw me was thorough, careful, took me next door for diagnostics and gave me plenty of information on what to do about my wisdom tooth. The level of care was excellent, I am so happy I was sent there!

Fantastic experience: I had my lower left molar extracted earlier today it’s been about 6 hours since the procedure and I thought I’d have tons of pain but that is not the case I’m literally pain free I took 2 co codamol about an hour after and had a nap I woke up the numbing had worn off and I had a ting bit of discomfort I wouldn’t even call it pain there is a tiny bit of swelling in my face but not much at all! The oral surgeon pulled the tooth out super quickly to in less than 2 minutes and they took careful steps to make sure I was fully numb before removing the tooth thank you so much for an easy and comfortable experience

Negative experience: Terrible experience – dismissive, unempathetic, and poor clinical care I visited Charlton Dental Surgery after a 111 referral due to severe wisdom tooth pain that left me barely functioning. While the receptionist was polite, the dentist and dental nurse were shockingly dismissive and rude — not only to me, but also to my mum, who accompanied me for support. When my mum asked the dental nurse if she could come in with me, she was met with a cold and sarcastic “That’s up to you,” instead of a simple yes or no. It felt unnecessarily rude and hostile in an already stressful situation. The dentist herself showed no empathy or concern for the level of pain I was in. She told me nothing could be done unless I had 2–3 more infections — which I later discovered was completely incorrect. When I was seen at King’s College Hospital the very next day, the maxillofacial doctor explained that intervention is typically considered after just one infection. This made it clear that the dentist had not only been dismissive, but had also given me misleading medical advice. I also had to insist on getting an X-ray — something that took less than three minutes and should be a basic step in assessing a painful wisdom tooth. After the X-ray, the dentist didn’t even explain the results or provide any insight. She simply asked for my email address and sent me away. It was only at King’s that the specialist told me there were irregularities in the tooth’s growth — the very reason the X-ray should’ve been assessed and discussed in the first place. Even more frustrating was the lack of basic aftercare advice. She failed to: • Show me how to properly clean the area with the correct toothbrush • Mention the use of Corsodyl mouthwash • Provide instructions about rinsing with salt water using a syringe For a dentist working in an NHS practice, where many patients come in from 111 referrals in urgent pain, this level of care is unacceptable. The maxillofacial doctor at King’s, who likely had far more patients to see, was far more patient, kind, and informative than this dentist was. This experience left me feeling dismissed and neglected at a time I needed real care. I hope this review encourages the team to reflect on how they treat people — especially those in pain — because healthcare should always come with empathy.

Fantastic experience: Had a very impressive experience here. My wife got a dental emergency. 111 NHS arranged same day appointment here. We reached 20 min early and are looked upon 10 min early. The issue was properly looked upon and fixed to our satisfaction in 10 min time. Very happy and impressed by the service received!!

This is a brilliant dental practice and Morwena who runs the practice has saved my teeth on numerous occasions and helped me with so many dental issues. Fantastic experience: Visited this practice for an emergency appointment with my wife, as we had been in a car accident as pedestrians and her teeth were damaged in the collision. I am giving 5 stars for the support and kindness of everyone working that day, especially our dentist and her assistant. The hospital we were first seen at (Lewisham Hospital) made an awful mistake of sending my wife home with a tooth hanging from the socket and another pushed into her gum. They needed to be splinted, but the extent of the trauma was far beyond what the dentist was able to deal with, and we should have been sent to a hospital with a MaxFac department (King’s College being the only one in London). Nevertheless, the dentist was extremely kind, explained all our options and seemed genuinely concerned for us. We ended up following her advice and going to the hospital with a letter that she wrote, and thankfully that letter helped to deal with the erroneous notes made by the doctors in Lewisham hospital implying that a regular dentist would be able to help my wife, when that was not the case. The surgery she needed was extremely time sensitive if we wanted any chance to save the teeth (needs to be done within the first 24 hours). I am happy to say that after going to King’s College she was able to be seen by a MaxFac surgeon on a Sunday, who did the best they could faced with such extensive trauma. The teeth were given a chance to re-root, but even if my wife ends up losing some teeth, we know we did the best we could. We could not have done it without the letter written by the dentist, because the triage nurses were relying on the misguided diagnosis of the doctors at Lewisham. This practice needs more funding, because one of the scan machines didn’t work, neither did their printer (I had to take a picture of the screen with the letter from the dentist). They deserve more funding, and more recognition for their work. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: Amazing service no long wait extremely professional sorted out my tooth pain instantly!!

Negative experience: I was made to wait 10 min into the appointment for lost filling (3rd time) which was quickly filled with fingers and not properly smoothed with usual technologies. Even though I had 30 min appointment I was brushed off to come back another time for properly finishing the work which could have been done on the spot, and the dentist ran away to another room. I've been told that another tooth needs fixing: 1st it was a shadow on x-ray (which is present also on other teeth), 2nd time that it has a hole which can't be seen on x-ray. Just a pile of BS. She tried to charge me the highest rate, but the kind receptionist changed me only what is the usual price for the treatment. What was once a good practice 5 years ago is now money grabbing dentistry full of BS from the main dentist.

Negative experience: Really disappointed with my emergency appointment. I was referred here by the NHS about a week ago. Let me start by saying the receptionists were great. They were attentive and took the time to help where they could. I had a 9am appointment and was shocked to see that the dentist I was supposed to see was having a morning catchup more than 5 mins into my appointment (I am clearly in pain). She then calls me in at 9:10 or so, makes no eye contact, back to me whilst asking all the questions and where the pain was. She spent less than 5 mins and sent me on my way with a cleaning of the area, applied some cream and told me there wasn’t much more she could do after asking her to please check the top wisdom tooth as I was concerned it was affected. She refused and told me to go see my normal dentist who has no appointment for 6 weeks. My upper tooth is now inflammed and I am Still in pain. Never had such a cold and impersonal service before. Was made to feel like I was bothering her.

Positive experience: I attended the dental practice for Emergency appointment regarding my child and I must say one of the best service received from both dentists Taz and Dee. They both worked effectively together to resolve my child tooth with patient and care as he was nervous. Moreover I had to come back and provide an update as the filling only lasted for two days which is not what I was expecting.

The practice staff were were kind and accommodating and we still able to see me, I had an x-ray and my appointment did not take too long. I'm very happy with the service I received.

The dentist Malika was a great communicator and put me completely at ease. Malika. She impressed me as a fine example of what is best about NHS dentistry: dedicated, caring and very competent. I came away with the best outcome and not in pain. Charlton Village is a rare NHS dentistry practice gem. I was so lucky and grateful to be sent there by 111.

Each and every visit we are met by the friendliest receptionists, the practice is always spotlessly clean and our dentist always gives us as much time as we need. We are never 'rushed through,' or treated with anything other than the upmost levels of care and attention. I couldn't imagine being treated anywhere else. The team here are AMAZING!

Negative experience: Everything that is wrong with dentistry in the U.K. I was sent there as an emergency patient. The dentist offered me 2 options: antibiotics or extraction. She was insistent I went with extraction and made it obvious she didn't want to help whatsoever. I had to beg her to clean the infection which she reluctantly did. Thankfully, I got a second opinion and extraction was not necessary but this dentist really exploited my vulnerability. Thank God I didn't listen to her 'expertise'! I'd be toothless and broke! Disgraceful 'service'. AVOID!

Negative experience: Having a Extremely severe phobia to dentists due to a bad experience previous, which resulted in the dentist being struck off. I changed to this practice. I was not very confident or comfortable, being talked down to , which only enhanced my phobia. Due to medical emergencies I missed 2 appointments which I hold my hands up ,is my responsibility. I then took to going guys hospital for treatment in emergencies. Years later I decided to re try coming back to this practice. I went online 1st then called in as requested. The receptionist was very rude and stand offish . Tried saying I'd tried to book with my 1st name as my surname also. ( screenshot shows otherwise). I was then told I had been archived due to not being seen in a long time. Which I expected. I was then told due to missing 2 appointments all those years ago ( which I had paid the refundable deposits on and quite rightly lost the deposits) I'd only be welcome back as a private patient. She then went on to say I wasn't registered. Talking to me as if I was beneath her. I know I was registered as my daughter had previously checked ,and was told only I could make appointments. Not my daughter whom is also my carer. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE. But thankfully I've now found another practice, who's receptionist was Extremely professional, polite, reassuring. Informative and clearly well versed in customer service.

Negative experience: I was referred to this clinic by 111 as I had serve pain in my gums. centering the premises and speaking to the receptionist They were polite and helpful and the area looked very clean but was small space wise. Once seeing the actual dentist they just looked at my mouth for literally 2 minutes no xray or scan and stated it was dental failure from previous inplants, which is fine but with no scan or xray that's not good enough. This is why I have given 1 star. The dentist was polite but was bad mouthing the previous clinic I have used when inplant failure happened to anyone but without xray or scan that's strange.

Fantastic experience: At my age had a few bad experiences with Dentists, more like Butcher's. Glad to have found Charlton Village Dental the Staff and wonderful front of house. As for Ellice best Dentist ever had, she is so good at her job, never want another Dentist to touch my teeth again. My dentures fit perfectly with fixedent, no rubbing, pain. Truly in a league of her own, hate going to the dentist, yet she put my nerves at rest. Brilliant

Negative experience: I done appointment with hygienist and it’s cost me around £65 and the treatment was terrible I don’t feel anything they done . I was late about 13 minutes and already let them know i going to late once I reach the clinic the reduced my hours of treatment and they only provide 20 minutes with hygienist and it’s cost around £65 I don’t recommend this practice anymore . The hygienist appointment was disappointed me .

Fantastic experience: I visited after being duped by my previous dentist into having unnecessary work. I was given a warm welcome by the chirpy reception and didnt wait a moment. My Nurse Natalie was extremely polite, knowledgable and helpful and her Dentist Ellice was fabulous. Between them they made me feel calm and at ease. The work that Ellice did is to such a high standard I can't see it at all. Im really happy with all the work they did and thoroughly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: 5* review is not enough to describe my experience at Charlton Village Dentist. All the staff was very helpful, super friendly and attentive. I would like to leave a special mention for Duyen Nguyen which was my dentist over the course of my treatment, she made sure I felt at ease even through my treatment hasn’t been very straight forward. You hear a lot of people with fear of going to the dentist, I was actually looking forward to getting back on that chair to sort the issues out but also because it was super comfortable and I knew that I would have no issues with my dentist. Overall a superb experience and would highly recommend to anyone that is looking for a regular dentist to sign up with.

Fantastic experience: Been here 3 times in the last 3 weeks for emergency dental appointments through the NHS, they're fantastic, ultra professional, the site is well maintained with a clean modern feeling through out and all the staff seem knowledgeable, experienced and friendly... which is probably why they have a 400+ person waiting list and cant take any more patients... but aside from that they're fantastic.

Negative experience: Money monger and neglecting dental clinic. I was referred there by 111 and they just didn’t care about my treatment as I’m not their enlisted patient. It was more like a touch and go as they will get £23.80 for sure. During my assessment dentist nurse recommended X-ray but the dentist didn’t even bother to listen to me. She was keep referring me to go to my regular dentist as if she won’t charge me for the treatment. If I would have an appointment with my regular dentist wouldn’t bother to go their to make myself a victim of their shamble treatment. Eventually, her body language was quite negative. I don’t know how she became a dentist with such a negative and money monging attitude towards patient. The treatment she has provided with a simple clean could have done it in my home and wasn’t necessary for me to drive 1 hour to get such shady treatment. I would advice any emergency patient to avoid this clinic as they are reluctant to provide quality care and only up to money. Shame on them as for these sort of AQP’s NHS is losing trust among people. I raised a complaint with NHS and my simple point is if you don’t want to see any 111 emergency patient then be honest and transparent and stop robbing their money. Stop this lunacy.

Fantastic experience: I had an NHS emergency appointment there today and I couldn't have been happier with my treatment. The lovely lady dentist I saw understood my fear of dentists and was as gentle as possible, explaining what was going on, made me feel more relaxed than normally I would be. Would definitely go there again.

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience with Charlton Village dental practice. After calling 111 on Saturday 25/03/23 about a temporary filling falling out, I was given an appointment for 12pm. However, I had to wait approximately 20 minutes before being seen by the dentist. Unfortunately, the consultation lasted less than 5 minutes and I was informed that there was nothing they could do. The dentist gave me some type of hydraulic temporary restorative material ("sodinal"), which I later found out I could have purchased from a high street store. To add to my disappointment, I was charged £23.80 for the service, which I felt was not justified given the lack of treatment provided. As a patient, I expected better service and value for my money. I had already traveled to the practice and waited patiently for my appointment, only to have the material come off before I even got home, which was only 15 minutes away. This only added to my frustration and inconvenience, and I expected better quality treatment from a dental practice. I should be getting a full refund as a bare minimum.

Negative experience: Sent from the 111 emergency and was booked for an appointment at 11:00 went there by 11:05 and gave my Name to the receptionist Inesa , she didn’t even looked at me and asked me to sit down. 3 minutes later she then said “ excuse me what is your name again?” I confirmed my name and she then asked me about my sure name which I also confirmed. Then she said your are late about 14 minutes when I checked the time it was 11:09 and I said no I appointment was 11 and it’s 11:09 she said oh yes but still check check if the dentist can see you. She went inside and came back at 11:13 and said you will have to contact 111 again because the dentis Can’t see you. All this conversation happened in front of other 5 five people who were also waiting. Waited about 1 hour to be seen. It’s absolutely disrespectful and felt like she didn’t want me to attend my appointment. This is a place I would definitely avoid.

I am very very scared of dentists, but Dr Hannah and her assistant (sorry didn’t catch her name) were amazing, reassured me and couldn’t believe it was all over in less then 5mins! THANK YOU! Fantastic experience: Only visited as a weekend emergency but staff were very polite. I was seen on time and the dentist was very helpful and informative. The staff made me feel very comfortable and at ease.

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency appointment arranged by 111. My son pushed me up there in my wheelchair. The staff were so kind and caring. I was able to stay in my wheelchair and taken to a nearby consulting room and treated in my chair. Wonderful caring staff.

Fantastic experience: Went here for an emergency appointment today and I have to say this is the best dental practice I have ever visited. Spotless and the ladies made me feel so at ease with everything. I will definitely be joining the waiting list to become a patient at this surgery. Never had a better experience at a dentist than I have at this one. Thank you so much for getting me out of excruciating pain!

Fantastic experience: Went here through 111 for an emergency root canal as it was causing me pain. The receptionist was kind, and the dentist and dental assistant I saw were both lovely. Dr E Christian, she explained the entire procedure was really kind and made me feel secure in the whole procedure.

Negative experience: I would let them touch my dogs mouth the dental nurse made my 4 year old sick by dropping a piece of filling down his throat that then made him sick and whilst he was being sick she jumped back and watched him choke on his own sick then refused to repair his tooth she just made the whole even bigger and said to me i aint getting sick on my uniform sorry but your duty of care to a child is unacceptable
