Fantastic experience: Had root canal treatment a few weeks ago -Dr Carol Tait was excellent & the treatment was v straight forward & successful. Pain medication was recommended post treatment but I experienced neither pain nor discomfort so was not required. Dr Tait had performed root canal treatment on another tooth which waa also very succesful & remained so many years post treatment. Her approach is warm, friendly which puts the patient at ease & you know you're being treated 'by the best in her field'.

Fantastic experience: I’ve just recently completed 12 months of Invisalign at The Row Dental with the wonderful Dr Slainie, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Before treatment, I never showed my teeth in photos. I’d been self-conscious since childhood as they were uneven and squint – people would even comment that I looked unhappy because I always kept my mouth closed. Dr Slainie carried out a really thorough check-up before starting Invisalign, completing essential work first (including a wisdom tooth removal). Throughout the entire process, she made me feel at ease, even though I was very nervous. The difference Invisalign has made is incredible – I finally feel confident smiling in photos. Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at the row for almost 3 years now and I can’t fault anything! The practice itself is gorgeous and feels like a spa which 100% takes away any anxiety about visiting the “dentist”. Dr slaine is AMAZING at what she does I have had my Invisalign done and composit bonding and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I took out one of their aftercare packages which I pay monthly for. Within this package I get my hygiene appointments, check ups and maintenance of my composites. It is 10000% worth the money considering the NHS offer the bare minimum for something as important as your teeth. Every member of staff are lovely they always chat away and make the visit feel very personal to each patient. I have had to take my son to a couple of appointments and they have been lovely to him every time and made him comfortable aswell. I can’t recommend the row enough!!

Fantastic experience: I am so glad I finally found a reliable and trustworthy practice in Edinburgh. From the very start you feel welcomed by the team. I had composite bonding done by Dr Jonathan Fitzpatrick who is incredible. The procedure was comfortable and pain-free and the results are very natural. Prior to that, I did a course of whitening and a hygiene appointment, both of which were great. Throughout the whole process the team has kept me well-informed, which put my mind at ease. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: After a horrendous NHS experience (drilling directly into an infected root without anaesthetic) had left me traumatised, I was referred to the endodontic specialist (Carol) at The Row. She and all of the staff at the practice were very sympathetic re. my previous experience and went the extra mile to make me feel reassured and relaxed. The root canal procedure went like a dream, with no pain whatsoever and I left with my faith restored in Edinburgh dentists once more! Only one small observation: there was an almost throwaway comment at the very end of my appointment about a crown being "recommended at some point" which hadn't previously been mentioned. As it turs out the repaired tooth crumbled less than a month after the root canal procedure was done, meaning that a crown became essential very quickly. I've subsequently had that done and all is (I hope!) finally good with the tooth in question - but I do think that should probably have been reinforced as part of the price estimate for the overall treatment plan, as in the end (root canal plus crown, which I had done elsewhere, as I needed to find a new 'permanent' dentist after the shocking experience that led me to The Row initially) I paid over £2,000 when I had budgeted initially for * only * the £1,500 quoted for the root canal. I imagine it was difficult to predict how quickly I'd need the crown - but I still would prefer to have had this stressed as a potential follow up requirement from the outset. But for the treatment provided for the initial issue - the root canal - I cannot praise Carol and The Row enough!

Fantastic experience: I recently had dental surgery at Row Dental to remove two infected teeth, one of which was a wisdom tooth. I’m not a registered patient there, but I asked my regular dentist to refer me to a private clinic because the NHS Lothian hospital waiting list is over 18 months for a simple procedure — and I definitely didn’t want the infection to spread any further. Out of all the recommended private clinics, I chose Row Dental — and it turned out to be the best decision I could have made for my dental care. I was fortunate to be under the care of Dr. Kaila Girvan and her team. They were exceptionally professional, efficient, skillful, responsive and compassionate. From start to finish, they took the time to clearly explain the procedure, answer all my questions, and ensure I felt informed and comfortable at every stage. Their knowledge, expertise, patience, empathy, and support truly made a difference. After the surgery, Dr Girvan followed up with regular checks to ensure my recovery was smooth and the condition was closely monitored — something you don’t often experience with other doctors or dentists. Fantastic experience: This is an excellent place. The explanation of what would be done was clear and I was given options for anaesthetic. I chose what I thought was the simplest and the procedure was completely pain free. The aftercare was explained carefully and when I followed the instructions I found they worked really well. I was phoned the next day to check everything was ok (it was). I would have no hesitation in using them again if necessary. A huge thank you to all at The Row Dental.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to The Row Dental for a wisdom tooth extraction. It was a brilliant experience throughout and I highly recommend them. From the first greeting in a tastefully decorated reception to speaking with the specialist - all very pleasant and it put me at complete ease. Dr Girvan was extremely professional, and the extraction itself was a breeze - I was amazed. I was advised to be prepared for mild discomfort, due to the nature of a wisdom tooth extraction, but I felt no pain whatsoever and honestly did not have to use any painkillers at all. The area is completely healed now and I am still in awe. I can feel the difference in my oral and overall health, and for this I am grateful to Dr Girvan and the team. Fantastic experience: I required root canal on a molar, after 4 attempts with 2 different dentists neither of them could numb my tooth. I was distraught. I was referred to Carol Tait at The Row. I am so glad I went (instead of having a tooth extraction) as Carol only required one injection to numb my tooth and the whole procedure was done in 1 hour. She explained everything to me and was really gentle. I am absolutely over the moon with my treatment and have booked in again for my 2nd root canal. I can’t recommend Carols services highly enough. She takes the fear out of root canal that’s for sure. The dental nurses and receptionist are all lovely too and put you at ease.

Fantastic experience: I went to the Row because I had previously had composite bonding done elsewhere and I was really unhappy with the results. I felt it didn’t look natural and I hated the shape. I had an appointment with Kat, who was so lovely and welcoming, to discuss treatment options and decided to go ahead with removal of my old composite to have my two front teeth redone. I had my treatment done today by Dr Johnathon Fitzpatrick and I couldn’t be happier! The results are fabulous, so natural looking and really complement the shape of my other teeth. Everything was exactly what I asked for and I couldn’t recommend Johnathon enough! I haven’t stopped smiling! Fantastic experience: Exceptional experience. Having had root canal therapy over 30 years ago that needed to be redone it was seamless, painfree and incredibly efficient. The practice is equiped with state of the art machinery and Dr Carol was a maestro! She explained every step and it was not completely straight forward for her due to the previous procedure. The previous therapy resulted in a bad neuralgia for 10 days needing constant pain releif. However there has been not a peep from my tooth this time. Much gratitude for the expertise, care and high standard of equipment.

Fantastic experience: I had Invisalign, teeth whitening and composite bonding done at The Row Dental one year ago. The whole process was incredible, Slaine’s knowledge is second to none. I have just recently seen Slaine for the composite polish and check up and a year after completing my treatment plan, my teeth are still perfect and I still get comments daily from people. I could not recommend The Row highly enough.

Fantastic experience: The Row truly is unlike any other dental clinic I've ever seen. Firstly, as an architecture buff, the building is stunning and it is clear that the full patient journey has been considered. No hard chairs of doom in this waiting room. Then the tech nerd in me loves the sheer range of state of the art kit they have which, aside from being very useful, is also there to make the patient experience more comfortable. But the real bonus of The Row is the team they have assembled. There is the sheer weight of expertise they all bring, but done with outstanding humility and good nature. But a special mention for Nims. I wish he'd been my dentist when I was a kid, but the next best thing is seeing how easily he put my own (neurodiverse) son at ease. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Dr Tait by my dentist who said she was the best around at root canal treatment - and he wasn’t wrong. I had a problematic upper back molar which was badly in need of treatment and giving me a fair bit of pain and sensitivity. From the minute I entered the surgery door, where I was looked after by the lovely Georgia, to the treatment itself - I felt hugely reassured and the whole experience was fantastic. Dr Tait sorted the tooth out - no pain at all during the treatment and amazingly there was no bruising or pain after - despite Carol telling me there would be a fair chance of pain. Fantastic experience: Doctor Carol Tait treated me for a root canal issue. She is extremely diligent and careful in her work. Very professional approach, told me everything to expect, explained the (complicated) procedure very clearly and carried out the work with a great deal of care.

Fantastic experience: Came here for a hygiene appointment after seeing the reviews on Google Maps. From the moment I arrived, it was such a pleasant experience. The place looks more like a hotel than a dental office. Georgia at the reception was incredibly friendly and had top-notch interpersonal skills. I was personally brought from the reception to the treatment room by the dental nurse, Jasmin, who made me feel right at home. I received a warm welcome from my hygienist Annette, who took a very comprehensive approach to helping me figure out what was causing my concerns. I appreciate how she was very attentive and focused on finding a solution. Don't be put off by the price--in addition to the great service, the products they used made for a more precise and thorough cleaning. I had never seen anything like the EMS Biofilm they used to reveal exactly where bacterial coating on my teeth was. This was followed by the surprisingly gentle air, powder, and water cleaning blast that worked through my teeth and gums. After some ultrasonic cleaning and some manual scaling for good measure, my appointment was over in what felt like a breeze. Annette and Jasmin were constantly checking up on me and taking notes on any findings. Probably the most I've ever enjoyed a hygiene appointment! I wish I took before and after photos with the terrific work done. I even received a shockingly large discount coupon for an electric toothbrush. A few days later I received a very detailed follow-up email from Annette with recommendations tailored to the concerns I mentioned. Absolutely top-notch service from the team--would highly recommend especially for discerning international Asian clients who are used to the higher standard of care and service back home. -Eugene

Fantastic experience: The Row helped me achieve my ultimate teeth goals! After having an initial consultation with Dr Slaine, where I got 3D scans of my teeth and talked through my options. I decided to get Invisalign, followed by Enlighten whitening and lastly, composite bonding, done by Dr Slaine on 6 of my top front teeth... which is like an art form in itself! My case was not straightforward as I have one side of my jaw which is longer and an underbite. Causing my bite to be off and my front teeth to be worn down due to grinding. Dr Slaine, Dr Nim, Kat and the entire team at The Row offered me the best service and care. They were able to create a plan that corrected my bite and made my teeth look symmetrical and natural, whilst also giving my teeth longevity for years to come. They have created a lovely warm atmosphere, where you actually enjoy going to the dentist. I can not speak more highly of the expert treatment I received and I feel fortunate to have chosen The Row as my dentist. I would recommend them to everyone and I already have friends and family booking in since seeing my results.

Fantastic experience: My experience at The Row Dental was on the whole a good one. The majority of the staff were friendly and welcoming, Dr Carol Tait explained in clear terms my treatment and the expectations of this. The treatment has been effective and I have booked in to come here routinely. Sadly, upon departing (having booked in and paid a deposit for my next visit) I had a negative experience with a receptionist making a sarcastic comment about my outfit. It has made me little nervous about my next visit but I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt as the dentists themselves are obviously highly skilled and pleasant individuals. The owner promptly phoned me upon reading this review and apologised profusely and genuinely. I feel a lot more confident returning and I’m happy this was dealt with in an empathetic and professional manner. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to me, it is appreciated. I think it speaks volumes when a company can deal with unfortunate issues like this so well.

Negative experience: I, unfortunately, had quite a bad experience with this particular dental practice. I was never walked through any of the steps taken for my filling, to the extent that I had to ask where exactly in my mouth I would receive the anaesthetic. Furthermore, during the preliminary examination, the dentist even placed the removed excess plaque on my tongue, as if to assume I would want to eat it? For such high prices, I deem this to be very unprofessional behaviour.

My hygienist appointment not only educated me in all aspects of cleaning my teeth but also made my teeth feel cleaner than ever before. I also got composite bonding on 2 teeth by Slaine and I can now say I have the most perfect smile.
